Activation Server Unavailable - trying to deactivate CS2

When trying to deactivate CS2 from an old PC (intending to activate on new PC), this message appears: "Activate Server Unavailable". Is there another way to deactivate the software on the old machine?

you cannot deactivate and you cannot re-activate.  the servers are shuttered.
you can however install a version of cs2 that does not require activation, Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3

  • HT201210 Trying to activate my iPhone, but it says activation server unavailable, tried connecting to iTunes, but I get same message

As above really, keep getting activation server unavailable, after trying to activate my phone after a restore

I do have a SIM card installed, albeit it says invalid sim.and this was my reason for a restore.
My sim is the same sim I have had since I bought the phone new, it has never been removed and the phone is not jail broken.
Still cannot activate due to server not available!

  • Install CS2 from link - Error Activation Server Unavailable

I've downloaled CS2 for Windows from the link in "Error: Activation Server Unavailable"  but when I run the setup .exe its asking for cd 2 to be loaded!  - "Cd 2" seems to the problem - I've checked the size and it appears to be correct (I've re-downloaded it 3 times!).
Has any one else had this issue?
Only solution Adobe can suggest is to buy CS6!

I was told the CS2 is old software by the Adobe Help Desk and it is no longer supported so the only real option is to upgrade to CS6.
Our Company policy is to us Microsoft IE 8 so I don't really have the option to download using a different browser.  Especially when you don't say which one! It appears to download correctly as the files are the same size as the orginals.
I have tried installing CS2 on a fresh computer running Win XP and I get the same issue.
    Its still asking for CD2!
Obviously I'm doing some thing wrong but there are no real instructions apart from the download.
I've been running the "CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe" first - the files are extracted then ot lauches the install... then asks for CD2! Then there no other option but to cancel the install.
    I then run CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe then CreativeSuiteDisc3.exe.
Then run the setup.exe. Check all componets to be installed then it installs CD1  then it asks for CD2.  If I just check just check Illustrator and Photoshop, it will install these ok as it only uses CD1 and CD3. Well... 2 out of an't bad!
I have tried running in reverse order  - CD3, 2 then  1 ... still the same issue!
    Any suggestions welcome!

  • Activation Server unavailable?

I'm getting an error message upon activation. "Activation Server Unavailable". Anyone else have this issue currently? Called customer service and was told to try again in a few hours. It will be a full 24 hours that it's been down in just a few more hours. Nothing changed on my system, all other internet access is ok and none of the components of Creative suite will activate, not just InDesign (which is what I really need right now!)

What is the version of the InDesign you are on and on what OS ?
Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7, however there is a solution

  • Aobe Standard Activation Server Unavailable Question

I currently have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard installed on my computer; it has been running on this compter for about 5 years.  Today, I encountered the following error message: "You cannot use the product at this time.  You must repair the product by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting ... Adobe Customer Support for help."  Because I do not have the original disks (product was installed via the web) I contacted customer support, but were told that they did not support this product.  Instead, they directed me to the Adobe Forums for help.  On Adobe Forums, I selecte help with "Error: Activation Server Unavailable" Topic, but found the following message. "Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 applications, including Acrobat 7 and Audition 3, because of a technical issue".  It then told be to uninstall my product and reinstall it  It states, "If you have CS2, CS2 applications, Acrobat 7, or Audition 3 installed on your computer, uninstall them."  To install, it states, "You can use the serial numbers provided as a part of the download only if you legitimately purchased CS2, CS2 applications, Acrobat 7, or Adition 3".
What I need to know is whether the fix for Acrobat 7 will work for Acrobat 9?  If not, where do I find the fix for Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, can the fix be done without an installation disk, and where can I go to obtain my original product serial number?

no, that's not an acrobat 9 fix unless you want to downgrade from acrobat 9 to acrobat 7.  if you do, follow the directions at that link, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
otherwise, you may be able to repair your acrobat std 9 by reinstalling:
if you have windows and if you follow all 7 steps, you can download a trial via one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems.
if you have a mac, to reinstall you need to contact the vendor that sold you acrobat std 9.
if that was adobe, it should be listed under your purchase history, https://www.adobe.com/account.html
if that was dell, http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/19/category/Product-Support/Self-support-Knowle dgebase/software-and-downloads

  • Activation Server Unavailable when activating Adobe RoboHelp 6

I am getting an Activation Server Unavailable message when activating Adobe RoboHelp 6 on Windows 7. Phone activation no longer works. Anyone encountered this issue before? Thanks!

I had to contact Adobe Support twice via chat. The first representative told me to go on here. The second one gave me an RH6 installer and a serial number different from the one I had. Now able to run RH6 without the prompt to activate.

  • IPhone won't activate after restore. Activation server unavailable

I restored my iPhone 4 through iTunes and it keeps saying "unable to activate phone, activation server unavailable".

There are two common causes for this problem:
    1. Your antivirus or firewall is blocking access to gs.apple.com. Disable them and try again.
    2. You once, at some time in the past, used your computer to hack or jailbreak some iOS device (not necessarily the iPhone with the problem). If you did your network database on your computer is corrupted, and you will have to edit your hosts file and delete any lines that contain gs.apple.com.

Because it says it's incompatible when it can't be, I got hope. I get error messages all the time with my iPod and iPhone that it cannot sync and that 'this device is not capapble of connecting to iTunes' stuff. I literally forget that happened, plug it in again and it works, I later realize that iTunes made a mistake, they do that.

This is a sign that your iPhone was hacked/jailbroken. You need a sim from the original carrier the iPhone is locked to, to activate.
