Activation unsuccessful

My iPhone 5S on ios 8.1.2 suddenly stopped using phone number for texting, now only uses email.  Now receiving activation error on imessage and facetime. Have tried all the suggestions, network settings reset, erase all content, new sim card, nothing works.  Any ideas?

Thanks Peter, yes, I erased all content and set up as new phone.  I did not restore from back up either.  Also, the section on iMessage "Start conversation from" is missing.  And if I sign out from my Apple id, then resign in, both my phone number and Apple id show up, both checked, but the phone number is grayed out, Apple id is black.  When i click "next" phone number disappears.

  • IMessaje and Facetime Activation unsuccessful.

Im on an un-official carrier in Venezuela (Movilnet) running the final release of iOS 5 in a factory unlocked Iphone 4 and so far I have been unable to activate Facetime or iMessage. It says waiting for activation and after sometime it says Activation unsuccessful.
I already perform the following task:
    - DFU Mode + Clean Install of IOS 5 (without restore from my Backup)
    - Restore network settings
Any suggestions on how to do it?

If the carrier doesn't support but at least it should support via wifi right? I don't understand why apple has made these things complicated.  Why they can't just make like Nokia or something. Where there is not activation or registration required to make video calling.  Agree???

  • How do I get iMessage to activate, I have read through all the instructions but it still says activation unsuccessful?

How do I get iMessage to activate, I have read through all the instructions but it still says activation unsuccessful?

Are you using a supported carrier? Do you have a plan that permits text messaging?
The iPhone uses a 'silent' SMS message exchange with Apple's servers in the UK to activate. If you are not using a supported carrier, and/or your account is not provisioned properly for an iPhone, the activation may not be able to complete.

  • CS3 activation unsuccessful, error 194:12

I want to activate my CS3, but the phone activation is no longer supported and online activation returns "unsuccessful" and error code 194:12. The customer support wants to have nothing to do with that.
(I know the quickest way would be using some keygen but I legally purchased the CS3 so I expect it to work legally too.)

Ok, I don't know if I should make it public and it pains me that I had to stoop so low to get my apps working, but there are other people with this problem, so I guess I should post how this issue got resolved.
I'm angry at myself for trying to settle it the legal way asking the customer support one after another for more than a month. Some of the staff were really kind and if nothing, I learned some new things, but they were downright useless because phone activation is probably some kind of taboo or what. They would persistently force me to unistall the CS3 and install to no end, even though I told them that I had formatted my harddrive and run a different OS...
Whatever, long story short, the only known solution to this problem is to download a keygen and activate the CS3 with it through phone activation. The only problem is that you don't have the serial number you purchased in the application itself, but don't waste your time trying to be all good asking the support questions they don't know or are forbidden to answer.
I still would like to report somewhere that I'm using an illegal serial number due to those circumstances and post the Software Licence Certificate I received upon purchasing the CS3 somewhere, so that nobody comes to bother me about that in the future, does anybody know how to do it?
Last note: I'm really curious how the Adobe wants to manage the CC versions when they have to go through this kind of activation every month or so. I'm glad I bought the boxed versions.

  • Activation Unsuccessful and waiting (iMessage and FaceTime) on an iPhone 4s.

My iPhone 4s is fully up to date. I have had it around 6 months and generally has been good.
Unfortunately today I could not send a picture through iMessage (I was at home using the wifi at the time), so i proceded to turn it off and back on again. This then lead to me looking at iMessage and it would not turn on.
Firstly it said Activation unsccessful and after turning it on and off it now says that it is waiting. I have restored all netwrok settings and done various other things suggested such as checking my number is correct and the time zone is set automatically.
After all this I still had no use, so I looked at my facetime, turned it on and off, and now I have lost that too. I can send SMS's and recieve them. I can also recieve calls, but I have now got no iMessege and FaceTime which is very annoying.
If anyone has an further ideas of what to try, I'd be most greatful.

Hi you guys, four days ago my FT and iMessage worked well on my iPhone 5 IOS6.1.3,but my phone Number did not in the caller ID loop,so I turned both of them off, when I wanted to turn it on again, but failed,I tried so many times, but make no difference,It shows me"waiting for activation".Then I found the solution on internet, and you know there are many possible solutions, just like:
1.change the wifi DNS to 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4.and you must turn your cellular ON.
2.restore the phone setting.Settings>>General>>reset>>all the phone setting.
3.restore the network setting.Setting>>General>>reset>>the network setting.
    3.reset the network.
    4.reset your Date&time.Setting>>Date&Time>>set automaticlly>>ON.
    5.change another network to activate.
6.take out the sim card to activate.
    I did everything,but nothing happend,it still"waiting for activation"
And today afternoon,i try to activate again, when i turn iMessage on,it activate successfully.OMG,it is really amazing.and the same to my Facetime.
I am so exciting and strange how it happen...
I followed all the setting above 1.2.3.4.5.6,the only difference is i turned the "enable 3G" OFF(Settings>>General>>Cellular Data>>Enable 3G>>OFF),but it keep ON before now.
seriously,i am not sure if the "enable 3G"causes this problem, but it really happened to me,so you guys can try if you have the same problem,
hope my answer if helpful for you.

  • HT201407 iMessage "unable to activate, please try again".    Whenever I go to activate imessage is says waiting for activation and then about 5 mins later says activation unsuccessful, please try again. This is driving me mad! It's been 2 days now!!

Lease help me to activate imessage. I now have iPhone 5s and can't activate imessage. I've tried all the normal stuff but nothing is working

i had this problem with my iphone 5c and sorted it contacting apple.
have you tried resetting the network settings? it doesnt delete anything and should work. if it then changes to "waiting for activation", instead of the error message, then leave it for 24 hours (leaving your phone and wifi on) and it should activate and work.
for me, this didnt work after 24 hours. i then backed up my phone and reset it and set it up as a new iphone then restored it using my backup from the computer and it now works

  • Imessages - activation unsuccessful

I just upgraded from an iPhone for to an iPhone 5s.  Now for some reason my iMessages and facetime will not activate including when I try to use my apple ID to activate it.  My imessages were still going to my iphone 4 and not my 5s.  I used my backup from my iphone 4 to load my iphone 5s.   I have restored my iphone 4 to its factory settings and removed it from my apple account but the iMessages will still not activate on my iPhone 5s.  However, I can still send and receive regular text messages (SMS).
I have tried restarting my phone, other trouble shooting by other forums (my resetting the network settings), ensuring that the restrictions are not on, and correct time zone but none of them worked.
    Anyone have any other suggestions?
    Thanks all!

  • Can you help me with activation problems with Photoshop in CS2?

I'm running a titanium powerbook, G4 and Mac OSX 10.4.11. When I launch Photoshop CS2 this happens:
First, an error message appears in a dialog box which says exactly this: <One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.> I click the OK button.
The Adobe Activation screen shows up next. If I click Activate at the bottom of the Internet Activation screen, I get this: <Activation Unsuccessful. We were unable to activate Adobe Creative Suite. Click the Phone Activation button to speak with one of our Customer Care representatives.> At the bottom left of the screen, it says <Error code: 93:-12> I click the Phone Activation button.
The automated system fails to recognize some part of the Serial Number and Activation Number process and I speak with a person.
After more than an hour of being passed from representative to representative, it is determined that they no longer support CS 2, and that this forum is the best place to go for help.
I'm counting on you, P'shopistas! How can I activate?
    Thanks in advance to all!!!
    Enkisma

    I woud try two things.
One I would uninstall the application to do so I would look in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers and run the Installer to remove the Photoshop CS 2 application.
I would then look in the Users/Username/Library/Preferences and remove anything connected to this version of Photoshop same with Users/Username/Library/Cache and Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Adobe and remove anything related to PS.
    Then reinstall.
if that does not work then do an archival reinstal of the system an d then reinstall.
Most important is that this software is not activated on two other computers or you will not be able to install and activate.

  • IMessage activation fails

I cannot active iMessage, after a while it says "activation unsuccessful". I did everything people told here and many other websites, but no chance. I have saved cellular logs of iPhone and found the number which iPhone uses for activation: + 447537410207

    Hello, Hannaabe.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I see you have already been through most of the troubleshooting steps for this issue.  Make sure to take a look at the section below labeled If you've waited 24 hours and still can't activate FaceTime or iMessage.
If you see "Waiting for Activation", "Activation unsuccessful", or "An error occurred during activation"
These messages occur when your iPhone is trying to activate your phone number with iMessage or FaceTime.
To resolve these status messages, follow these steps. After each step, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that you have a cellular network connection with your cellular provider. You need a cellular network connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Go to www.apple.com in Safari to make sure that you have a data connection. You need a data connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime and iMessage.
Make sure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Set iPhone to the correct time zone: tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions, blocks, or filters on text messages. Restrictions, blocks, or filters on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration from completing.
If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, please contact Apple for assistance. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on.You can still activate iMessage and FaceTime with your Apple ID when these status messages appear. You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID by tapping:
Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:

  • Problems With Activation

I purchased Adobe Audition 3.0 brand new in it's box, and when trying to activate the software it gives me the "Activation Server Unavailable" message. When I tried to activate it by phone, after I type in the serial numbers the automated system said "activation unsuccessful.  What do I need to do to get this software to run correctly?

  • Waiting for activation have not found a way to fix this

Ok so I'm overseas and I cannot use cellular data because I don't want to get billed a crazy amount however when using wifi the first week I was here I was able to text and face time with no problem. Then we went for a week to the country with no solid internet connection however we set up a very weak hotspot using a tablet, that's when I noticed I wasn't able to text and I saw the message waiting for activation since it took around 5 mins to load a web page I figured it was just a problem with the internet and I ignored it. Now we are back in the city (where we were when it worked fine the first week) and I still have the same problem, I have read countless articles about how to fix this and nothing seems to work the only option I haven't tried is to wipe the phone and restore it with a backup however i can't do that since I am no where near my computer. So is there any one else having the same waiting for activation problem as me? Is there anything I can do, any help would be much appreciated.

Re: My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..." Jun 17, 2012 10:04 PM (in response to bradfromwinnipeg)
    Hi All,
This problem is solved for me, with some help from the carriers. At last
Let me describe my situation once again.
I am from India, where the official iPhone carriers are Airtel and Aircel.
I have two prepaid connections - One from Airtel and one from Reliance GSM
Whenever I try to activate iMessage from my Reliace SIM, it shows activation unsuccessful, the the receive at shows my email ID only.
But whenever I try activate it using Airtel SIM, it activates just fine. But since my primary connection is the Reliance one, I wanted it to get activated for Reliance.
I have tried every tweaks/restore etc mentioned in this discussion, but nothing worked.
    The solution:
This does not require any jailbreak/restore. Just a little help from the carrier.
For all reliance GSM customers in India, you can just try to activate in again. I think they have solved it for all customers.
I was almost lost hope of activating imeesage on Reliance. But then one of my friends bought a new iphone (4S). He had a docomo connection, and he also had this same issue. But using his contacts in docomo, he enabled some trace in his connection, and found out that the phone was trying to send SMS to a UK number (short code), which is blocked by their RA team.
This is that magic number : 00445773142076
So from him, I got the number. I raised a complaint with Reliance.
The complaint had nothing about imessage, but it said: "I am unable to send international SMS to the number 00445773142076, even after having sufficient balance and an active SMS plan"
So they have done some 'unblocking'  and called me this morning and asked to try again 'sending sms to the same number' . I went to settings and activated imessage and facetime/ Thats it !!!!.
A big thanks to Reliance GSM support for the quick solution.
For anyone on Reliance GSM in India, just try activating it now.
For others, log a complaint with the carrier that "you want to send SMS to the number 00445773142076.
    Thanks all
