Active 4.0 - dll is not re-registered

I have TestStand 4.0 and 4.1 installed in my system.
Using the TestStand Version Selector I am trying to Make 4.0 Active. I get the report as:The following is a list of files that were not re-registered. You might not have these files due to the installation type you selected when you installed this version of TestStand C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 4.0\BIN\TSDoNetUIControls.dll How to resolve this issue?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Hi Vidula,
Is this the only file that the version selector complains about? What happens when you attempt to make TestStand 4.1 active again? Do you receive the same report or does TestStand 4.1 activate successfully without any prompts?
Assuming that you can successfully activate TestStand 4.1 and attempting to active TestStand 4.0 again displays the same report, can you please browse to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 4.0\BIN\ and verify whether or not the TSDotNetUIControls.dll (I assumed you left out the "t" by accident) file exists in this directory? Note that you should also look for any file with a name that very closely resembles this. For example, you might not have TSDotNetUIControls.dll but you might have a file called TSDotNetUICon$ols.dll in the BIN directory.
If the TSDotNetUIControls.dll does exist in the TestStand 4.0\BIN directory and is named properly, do you also have the corresponding TSDotNetUIControls.tlb file in the BIN directory?
If so, what versions of Visual Studio do you have installed on the machine and what languages do those versions have installed (C#, VB, C++)?
I look forward to your response.
Manooch H.

  • Active X could not be registered trouble..help!

Hey guys, need some help. I am a little computer literate, but not too much...
So recently I got a virus and it messed up my laptop bad!! I downloaded new Anti-Virus and its gone but left me with a world of problems...(rundll32 errors, etc.) I have been in forums and trying to fix this for a week to no avail...
I can't download flash now, it gives me the notification of Active X Control for flash player could not be registered. Undoubtedly, I know this has to do with the virus' damage.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A205 with Vista and its a 32 bit system. I am the admin on my system.
Any help would be appreciated and please let me know if there is more info I could provide to get some answers.
    Thanks,

Add: I forgot to include I am running IE8 and using AVG Anti-Virus.
I couldn't figure out how to disable the AVG to see if that was the problem, but with the registry errors (the Rundll) it seems like it wouldn't have anything to do with it?

    Hey!
So I have spent the past month trying to fix it to no avail...I tried this and it totally worked!! (I'm so excited!)

Dll exist at that path. On some 64bit it get registered. Please provide me a solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
The best way is to ask the provider for the documentation of how to register the COM properly. Your question is not realated to Visual C# language.

  • This application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found

    Hi,
I just downloaded the Flex 3.3 DK from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=flex3sdk
Once unzipped I went to run this:
    C:\DATA\My Documents\_jim\flash\open-source\_Software\flex_sdk_3\bin\mxmlc.exe
When I ran it, I got this error
This application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem
I searched on Google, and found this:
    http://www.flashdevelop.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2932&start=15
So from there, downloaded "msvcr71.dll", placed here:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32
And ran the following in the Command prompt: regsvr32 "msvcr71.dll".
When I did that, I got this error message:
msvcr71.dll was loaded but the DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found
    The file was not registered
I saw that the DLL is related to Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime, so I deleted the dll I saved manually, and ran the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/thankyou.aspx?familyId=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2b c1bf&displayLang=en
Once done, the dll was not placed in the System32 folder.
I tried the manual install of the DLL again, but on trying to register it again, got the same error message.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Seems like I might have hit a brick wall.
    Thanks

What operating system? 32-bit or 64-bit?
Which version and edition of SQLDeveloper (with/without jre, 64/32-bit)
    What JDK version?

  • "the activex control for flash player could not be registered" - Solutions Roundup

I recently ran into this problem on my computer:
    http://at32.s3.amazonaws.com/flash_install_problems2.jpg
I am a Flash developer (as in I write SWFs, I don't work for Adobe).  and when I updated IE to 10.2, "the activex control for flash player could not be registered".  Since I am a developer, I also have Firefox and Chrome installed, with Flash running without problems.  For a long time now, Internet Explorer has used a different version (ActiveX) to the other browsers, which use plugins.  I am a strong supporter of Flash, it's great to develop with and has a very wide feature set which is growing all the time, unlike fixed technologies/standards.  However, the weakest part is the install process - I don't understand why their is a Download Manager.  Google Chrome does it's best (so far) by managing the install/update process entirely in the background.  Anyway, it was in my best interest to try and get to the bottom of this.
For the record, on the problem machine I have Windows 7 with IE8, but I have seen almost  identical symptoms with IE9, Windows XP SP3, as well as various  iterations of Flash Player (10.0, 10.1, 10.2 and even some final  editions of version 9).
First I tried the standard support here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
Basically, doing the manual uninstall and manual install of the latest version (without using the download manager, or have IE open).  This did not work.  I also tried the Microsoft "subinacl" program, together with "reset_fp10.bat".  This didn't work either.  However, you should try all of these things first before progressing further.
A quick note about people who had tried running the following at a command prompt: "secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose"
I didn't do this, because on investigating further it didn't seem to work with Windows 7, only Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 - though there was a few threads where this had fixed the problem for some users.
For my solution, it is recommended you use the manual uninstall / installers, so you should have them downloaded ready to use.
I then heard about problems with permissions in the registry with the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\shockwaveflash.shockwave
So I opened regedit.exe (start - run - typed "regedit.exe"), navigated to the key and sure enough, I couldn't open it - permission denied - even though I had an administrator account.  If for some reason, you can access this key (and any subkeys), then it's likely the following fix will not resolve the problem.
I then done further diagnosis, by using Process Monitor to try and install Flash Player, and I got the following:
    http://at32.s3.amazonaws.com/flash_install_problems.gif
This shows all the access denied errors the Flash Player install was experiencing when trying to write to the registry key.  This confirmed that this was the problem.  I only stress this because several people said it was unwise to tinker with the registry.  Though this is common advice, this is the only known fix for this precise problem at present, since you need to manually adjust the permissions yourself.  I don't know who is at fault here - Microsoft or Adobe - but let's just get Flash fixed...
    The solution:
Firstly, you may want to backup your registry, or the exact key.  I didn't do this so I've provided no instructions on how to, but it is recommended for the paranoid.  Also make sure as much software is closed down as possible - browsers, IM software, any junk in your system tray. As way of example, I happened to have "BBC iPlayer" installed and running in the background which uses Adobe AIR and Flash Player, so I exited that too.
    1) Open regedit (start - run - type "regedit.exe").  You may need to right click on it and select "Run As Administrator", but I didn't as my account was already administrator.
    2) Navigate to the key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\shockwaveflash.shockwave
Click on it to confirm that you cannot access it (you will get an error) - if their are no problems - this probably isn't the cause of your issues.
    3) Right click on it and click Permissions, and ignore any message that may pop up.
    4) Under "Group or Usernames" click "Add".  Type your account name name, or "Administrators" in the box, then "Check Names" to format it correctly, then Ok.
    5) Now on the next screen click the checkbox to enable Full Control (this will also automatically enable "Read" permission too).
    6) Click Advanced, then the "Owner" tab at the top.  You will see that their is no "Current Owner".  This is what we will now fix.
    7) Click on your name to change the owner to (I went for Administrators).  Also enable the checkbox entitled "Replace Owner on subcontainers and objects".  Then click Ok.  You will get an error message, which you can try clicking Retry to, but hit Cancel - this is not a problem.
    8) Click Ok a couple of times and this part of your registry is now fixed.
    9) Now it's a simple case of running the manual Flash uninstall program, then finally the manual Flash installer (for Active X - not the Firefox/Chrome plugin versions).  To my surprise, after a couple of days looking into this - I finally had a solution and Flash in IE once more.  If you are using Firefox too you may find Flash is no longer installed their (the uninstaller removed it).  In this case just install via the Adobe site or try to watch a video on You Tube and you will be prompted or linked to the install.
Hope this provides a good round up of the possible solutions to this problem.  Hopefully Microsoft or Adobe can find out what causes this issue in the first place so we don't have to go down this route for much longer.  Chrome's implementation of Flash shows how effortlessly things can work!

They will stay on the screen.  However, Process Monitor is only intended for advanced users.  It is recommended that users try to navigate to the troublesome registry key using regedit, and see if they can access it or not without an error.  This is far easier than trying to use Process Monitor, which is very complicated.
I used Process Monitor to confirm that it was just that key which was causing the problem, and not others.  Process Monitor is not to be confused with the new Resource Monitor which is accessible via Task Manager in Windows 7 (and possibly Vista).  If you must experiment (and Process Monitor is very useful for diagnosing many deep-level problems if you know what you're looking for) Process Monitor can be downloaded from here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
It replaces the older Sysinternals "FileMon" and "RegMon".  For those interested in the technical side, I had to setup a number of filters to be able to get the results display as in the screenshot.  First of all to just show Registry events.  Then to just show events from the manual Flash activeX installer executable.  The I added a filter to show only non-successfull results.  And finally, for the purposes of the screenshot, added a filter to just show those with "Access Denied", since other non-critical errors are also picked up due to missing keys because installation has not yet been fully completed I guess.   When experimenting, most of these filters were applied using the "is not" boolean logic, which will make sense if you experiment with the program.
Without adding any filters, it picks up so many events (hundreds per second) that it's otherwise unusable.  e.g. 40,000 events within the first few seconds of opening the program. For this reason, I recommend simply using Regedit to diagnose the problem with the particular Flash registry key.

  • Flash player could not be registered.

I see I have the same problem as many others in that the flash player 10.1 update could not register.  I have XP sp3 with all the latest updates, IE8, AVG free 9, Spybot S&D, I use the windows firewall.  After the first failed install I uninstalled AVG and Spybot and turned off the firewall, set all IE options to what troubleshooting said to.  Ran ccleaner and set it so nothing would load at start up and did a restart.   I still get the same error "could not be registered".  Just for S&G I uninstalled all other adobe items and tried again, no good.  I reinstalled all other adobe items with no problem and they all seem to be working fine except for the flash player.  Any help would be great  Thank you Chris

  • 339 - Component 'Srcvw3.dll' missing / not configured correctly

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect to essbase through FDM. I met this error in Tool > View error: "339 - Component 'Srcvw3.dll' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."
I moved ES11X-G4-H.xml to FDM Shared component and upsES11XG4H.exe to Essbase-client-32/bin folder. I also configure ARBORPATH and ESSBASEPATH to essbase 32 bit client directory.
    Please help

The file you are referencing should be located in the Oracle\Middleware\Bin directory. Do you see this file here? If so, you can register it using regsrv32. The file and it's corresponding .lic file should be in this directory and registered from this directory.
If you still receive the error, copy these two files to the FinancialDataQuality\sharedcomponents directory and register them using regsrv32 from this location.

  • How to search my stolen iPhone if it was not yet registered with iCloud

How to search my stolen iPhone if it was not yet registered with iCloud

    You can't.
The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, and running iOS 7.0, then phone cannot be activated or the passcode removed without knowing your Apple iD/Password. It will be nothing but a useless paperweight.
If not running iOS 7.0, the phone can be forced into recovery mode & restored.

  • MSVCR100D.dll was not found

    Hi,
I created a simple dll using Visual C++ following this tutorial:
    http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-1690
I got it to run in labview on my laptop which runs Labview 2010 on Windows 7; however, I can not get it to run on my other machine which is labview 8.2 on Windows XP. I get the error:
"The application has failed to start becuase MSVCR100D.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I get this error when I fill out all the info in the Call Library Function and click OK.  I would really like to be able to write and then run a dll on this machine.  Any advice would be helpful.
I am using Microsoft Visual C++ Express 2010 to write the C++ code and make the dll.
    Thanks
    Michael Herman

This question is quite old, but it comes up easily via the LabVIEW search and I encountered it earlier today.  Since I was forced to search around elsewhere for a solution, I thought it might be worthwhile to make a reply.
The MSVCR100D.dll is part of the Visual Studio C++ library.  The "D" character before the .dll stands for a Debug library.  Unless you have the full version of Visual Studio installed on the second machine, you will likely be missing this library.  To fix this, open up the properties menu for your solution in the Visual Studio project.  Click the "Configuration Properties" and set it to "Active (Release)".  Then your next build will create a release verison that does not have these debugger dependencies.
If the "Active (Release)" version still demands MSVCR100.dll (without the "D"), then you need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable  on the computer you wish to open the DLL with, which can easily be found via google (in case the links provided expire):

Hi guys. The post title explains the problem...I'm using Crystal Report XI : Developper with Windows Server 2003.I need to display reports over the web, so I'm using the Crystal Report ActiveX Viewer. All is working fine for now, except the following : When I try to show the report, I only see the Viewer's border, with the viewer empty, and on the top, its written : Failed to load database information. Details: The database DLL 'crdb_odbc.dll' could not be loaded.
I searched my computer, and I found many different crdb_odbc.dll(I used many different versions of Crystal Report), they all are in the Common Files folders, and I tried to register it, but since there is no Entry, I cant register it. I also un/re-installed Crystal Report, both on the server AND on the client machine, and I keep getting the same error message. So I'm kinda stuck now.. If anybody knows where I should head first, to get over this problem, it would be very nice.Thanks.François BoivinSTAS, Analyst Programmerwww.stas.biz

when you set up your ODBC connection what type of connection did you create. Does it work from any machine ?.  You might want to try adding another ODBC connection to the Windows Server, Chose System DSN (If that is appropriate for your environment) and try the openlink generic (Again If that is appropriate for your environment) Whatever you call this connection, you will need a clone on the server side as well, same name, same case, same everything....   Not sure if this will help, but I had some situations were I got a similar error, and doing the above fixed my problem....  ( I am using SQL server though, so....)

Does anybody know what happens and how to fix this problem? I have tried uninstall the IMAQdx and then insall it again. This does not help.

Yes, it is activated on my laptop that I use to upload software to real-time target (real-time desktop on NI 8354). Unfortunately I cannot find the procedure to activate IMAQdx on real-time. It works fine before IMAQdx upgrade and I cannot remember any additional actions I have performed when I have install it first time.

  • C:\SC\crviewer.dll could not be loaded

Moved application source code from laptop to new desktop. Crystal Reports XI SP2 is installed on new desktop. When I open VB6 project, I get message "c:\sc\crviewer.dll could not be loaded -- Continue loading projects?" This application worked on my laptop. I no longer have the laptop. Need help to resolve references. Other messages I get are: "Errors during load. Refer to c:\SC\frmViewReport.log for details." and "Errors occured during load." When I run the application, I get "Compiler error: Method or data member not found"
In frmViewReport.log I have the following line:
Line 66: Class CRVIEWERLibCtl.CRViewer of control crvReport was not a loaded control class.
    Steps for Reconstruction
    1. Open VB6
    2. Select project to open
    3. See error "c:\sc\crviewer.dll could not be loaded -- Continue
    loading projects?"
    Operating System: Windows XP

First will executables I create run on the end users computers?
    - yes they will. But we need to be clear on what version of the runtime is the app using. CR 8.5, or CR XI? (more on that later)
Second, in Crystal Reports XI, do I even need to have crviewer.dll?
    - absolutely - if you are using the RDC. There are two core components to the RDC; the craxdrt.dll and the crviewer.dll
Is there a different activeX control in Crystal Reports XI that replaces the need for crviewer.dll?
    - no there is not
Third, why does the crviewer from Crystal Reports 8.5 solve the problem?
    - most likely because there is a reference to that version of the viewer in the project. Go to Project menu, references and see what the projects is referencing.
Are the VB6 project references really the root cause.
    - absolutely
Forth, is there some sort of problem that causes my application not to find the crviewer.dll in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\crystalreportviewers11\ActiveXControls?
    - yup. the CR XI components are not being referenced in the app. Again, go to Project, references. The two references for CR XI are; crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Library 11.0 and Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer Runtime Library 11.0. I'll bet my bottom dollar that these are not the referenced dlls...
Is the DLL not correctly registered?
    - nothing to do with registering. I'm quite sure you'd be getting different errors.
Now, back to question 1. To determine the runtime your app is actually using, I recommend you use the modules utility from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip
Run, your app, then start modules, get a log created. Expand the "by process" node, select your app exe. Then go to the View menu and select Details. See what CR dlls are loading. I'm sure it will all be version 8.5
