Active-Active firewall, multiple mode can't do file management?

Hi all
as above title, found that i can't use ASDM to do file management.
I get this after i read the configuration documents: Backing Up and Restoring Configurations, Images, and Profiles (Single Mode)
So in Active-Active it's a multiple mode, can't just simply backup/upgrade it firmware and ASDM?
You are welcome to share your comment, thanks in advance

Hi,
Please make sure you are in the system context to take the back up or restore. It only appears in the system context.

Where can I find file manager, to manage files for my iPad Air?

There are some apps that allow for a decent amount of file management on the iPad! depending on what you want to do. Take a look at some of these.

  • When there are multiple users can the email files that are on the left of the screen be hidden from other users?

There are several people who might want to use Thunderbird on a work computer but I don't like how everyone's email files are open to public view. It looks like anyone can see emails without having to login to another person's account.

Use different Windows user accounts for each person, and set-up Thunderbird for each person's email account underneath the respective Windows account.
It is very easy to switch between Windows user accounts, and multiple people can be logged in simultaneously.

  • Xfce4 Can't Start File Manager or Settings w/Non-Super User

This is possibly a very stupid question, but I've been weeding through the forums and the wiki for a couple of hours now to no avail.  I've just installed Xfce and have it working in conjunction with GDM.  I can login just fine with my non-root account, but then I'm unable to adjust the Settings or load the File Manager as I am able to do when I login using root.
In the case of trying to load the Settings dialog box, I click on the icon in the panel, and it does absolutely nothing.  When I click on the File Manager icon, however, an hourglass appears as if it is trying to load, but then after about 30 seconds the hourglass disappears and nothing opens.
I have installed Firefox, and it works just fine under either account, and so I'm thinking it may be a simple permissions/groups problem...any thoughts?

The ownership of both the .cache and .config directories for some reason belonged to root and not my user.  I completely wiped out those directories, and restarted Xfce while logged into my account and it seems to be working now.  Thanks for the help xerverius.
On a side note, I also noticed that the .local directory is also owned by root and not myself.  There is nothing in it currently but a share directory, but does the ownership need to be changed for this as well?  It's completely unrelated to the Xfce problem, but I thought it was a little strange...

  • Multiple context mode and Active Active

    Hi Everyone,
ASA in multiple context  mode works as active active mode.
ASA has 2 contexts admin and  x.
We have 2  physical ASA say ASA1 and ASA2 .
Under system context we have hostname ASA
When i ssh to ASA1 it brings the ASA/admin mode.
    sh failover shows
    sh failover shows
    This host:    Primary
    This host:    Primary
When i try to login to ASA 2 it brings me to ASA/x prompt.
    sh failover shows
      This context: Active
    Peer context: Standby Ready
Need to  know is there any way that i can login to other physical ASA?
i hope my question makes sense.

    Hi Mahesh,
To it seems that you are logging to different contexts in these 2 cases.
Normally an admin always logs to the "admin" context IP address owned either by the primary IP address for the Active unit or the secondary IP address for the Standby unit.
So what I would suggest you do first is that you go to the context "admin" and issue the command "show run interface"
Then go to the context "x" and issue the command "show run interface"
Now check the IP addresses on the interfaces.
Especially the interface on the "admin" context should contain an IP address for both of the ASA units. Check the interface IP address which originally lead you to the "admin" context.
    For example
    ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0 standby 10.10.10.2
If the above were true you would connecto the IP address 10.10.10.1 when you wanted to connect to the Active unit and use the IP address 10.10.10.2 when you wanted to connect to the current Standby unit

  • Can IPS and AntiBot work in Active - Active Mode

    Hi,
When we propose two firewalls in Active - Active mode with IPS module and Anti-Bot Licences, will the firewall along with IPS and Anti-Bot work in Active - Active mode? If not, how do the other OEM's claim that they are able to run their UTM in Active- Actvie Mode.

    Hi,
I haven't seen any type of limitation with IPS and Botnet Traffic filtering on Multiple context mode; so it should work  fine.

  • Does VPN works in Firewall Active Active failover mode?

i want to clarify these two things!
    1. Does VPN works in failover mode in Active/Active mode?
    2. What about in Failover mode Active/Pasive?
    Regards!

    Hi,
Using an Active/Active Failover means that the Firewalls will be in Multiple Context mode. In other words virtual firewalls.
This means that you can ONLY use IPsec L2L VPN connections on the virtual firewalls if you are running 9.x software level on the firewalls. Any form of Client and Clientless VPN isnt supported in Multiple Context Mode at the moment.
Now with Active/Standby we have to make a distinction (if that was the word).
IF you run a normal Active/Standby Failover pair of ASAs that IS NOT in Multiple Context mode YOU CAN use any type of VPN the ASAs support.
IF you run a a pair of ASAs in Multiple Context Mode and in Active/Standby Mode you will naturally run into the limitation of VPN support in Multiple Context Mode and WILL NOT be able to use any other VPNs other than IPsec L2L VPN connections provided you are running 9.x software that supports it.
    Hope this helps

  • Can't update while select is active in read-committed mode

    Hi
    This is my business logic:
I m selecting the values from three tables by UNION ALL and i m geting the record set in while loop at the same time i try to insert the values which is getting from select statement in the First Table in the same while loop.
my problem is when i try to insert into the same table the following error is occured
"can't update while select is active in read-committed mode"
Now what can i do ? please give me ur solution ...
    Thankx
    Merlina

depending on how many values you have, you could store the results in memory, a vector or similar collection.
Then close the select statement, and insert the values from your vector into the table.... should work then.
Or, there may be a way of creating an updatable resultset ?
This question is better directed at the

  • How can I keep USB's ports active while in sleep mode?

How can I keep USB's ports active while in sleep mode?

OK, for some of you that may have the same problem or question as me. I have been testing my MAC Book Pro for ways to continue to power the usb while laptop in standby or off. I have found the following thing to work or not work.
    1. The laptop doesn't send any power to your USB's when it is powered off reguardless if it is plugged in or not.
    2. If laptop is put in standby no power is sent to USB's unless the power cord is plugged in on the laptop. So once again if you plug your laptop in and then put it in standby it does still send power to the USB's when requested.
So the bottom line is, On my last laptop (toshiba) I was given an option to go into system preference and make a change that allowed my laptop to continue to send power to USB's when requested while in standby or powered off. I was hoping I could do the same thing with my new smokin Mac Book Pro but I haven't found that kind of option in the MAC.

  • ASA 8.4 transparent mode active/active questions

Hi, currently i'm trying to create network design which uses two 5585-X in transparent mode with active/active load balancing (with states), but i have some questions:
    1. Do i need to configure asr-groups in transparent mode? What will happen if my packet (or now more accurately frame) will return to the standby context of one device, while the initial packet passed through active context on the another device (contexts are in the same group but on different physical devices)?
    2. In 8.4 we received new feature called BVI interfaces. How this feature integrates with failover functionality? Can we now use multiple BVI bridge groups for multiple vlans (instead of bridging a single pair of vlans in single context)?
    3. When implementing active/active load balancing with BVIs do we still need to use multiple context mode?
    Thanks for your replies

    Hello,
    1. Do i need to configure asr-groups in transparent mode? What will happen if my packet (or now more accurately frame) will return to the standby context of one device, while the initial packet passed through active context on the another device (contexts are in the same group but on different physical devices)?
You only need to configure ASR groups if your routing environment would match the scenario you outlined (a return packet arrives at the unit running the Standby context).
    2. In 8.4 we received new feature called BVI interfaces. How this feature integrates with failover functionality? Can we now use multiple BVI bridge groups for multiple vlans (instead of bridging a single pair of vlans in single context)?
You can configure up to 8 bridge groups per context to achieve this.
    3. When implementing active/active load balancing with BVIs do we still need to use multiple context mode?
Active/Active failover is only possible in multiple context mode.
    Hope that helps.

  • How can we achive active/active cluster setup with Oracle

    Hi Experts,
How can we achieve active/active database setup with oracle WITHOUT USING RAC.. As far as I know it's impossible (unless I'm wrong)..
We are using Oracle 11.2.0.1 64bit on Windows 2008 server. We deployed Oracle FailSafe but that's more of an active/passive solution based on a windows cluster.
The other solution we were thinking about is to use DataGuard and replication.. two servers.. the oracle instance running on one server generating logs, and the other server receive the logs and apply them to the physical standby db.. Still, this is not a real active/active setup.
So, is it possible to run 2 servers in an active/active cluster and have the oracle database in an active/active setup or have the instance running on multiple nodes (at the same time)?
    Thanks

Let me give you a brief explanation of what the situation is and you can be the judge..
My client have four databases with the smallest one being 20GB and the biggest around the 35gb (SGA 750mb to 1.4gb (Tiny by DB standards) and probably on a normal day, you can run all four of them on a decent desktop).. The DBs are used to keep track of people information. Through out the year, the databases are almost sitting idle, and by idle I mean, the odd update here and there, the odd report..etc. No hard real processing of any sort. Two days of the year (end of year) we have all the operators consolidating records and what's not and they will be pounding away entering data and updating the tables - with hourly reports that goes to 3rd parties. The client expects a 99.99 up time and availability during those 2 days.
Now, tell me, How can I justify using RAC and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in licensing and what ever extra costs introduced by the complexity of the environment for the above scenario knowing that I don't have any real use for RAC for 363 days of the year; and we MIGHT need it for 2 days of the year? This is the dilemma we're facing.
    Thanks

I try to 'Print booklet' and receive an eror that "the active document uses multiple page sizes..." but all the pages on my document are in the same size (as far as I know)
