Hy,
Is the ACF componant mandatory in case of Adobe Interactive Forms in portal ?
Fisrt specifics developments seem saying it is not ...
Can you tell me in which cases it became inescapable ?

Hi Alain,
ACF is mandatory if you are using ActiveX components in your Interactive Form.
If you are using ZCI (Native) forms, then you need not install ACF on your system.
ZCI Native forms works with NW 7.0 SP 09 and above.
If you have NWDS 7.0 SP09 or above then you will get an option to develop ZCI forms.

Hi
I am in the process of trying to prototype a screen that reflects committed changes made to the database.
For example I have some rows that have theirs status's changed.
I understand the "push" technology is called "active data framework"/
What I need is a small example of how this can be implemented. I can only find a couple of posts on the internet and they are vague.

They talk about adding components that I cannot see in Jdeveloper (version 11.1.1.2). Also it appears the data must be complient with this push technology too.
I hope this can be acheived easily. I remember listening to a podcast from Duncan Mills. He made it seem so easy.

I am starting simple with trying to get a table to "twinkle".
I thought I would use BAM rather than fuss around with the proxy stuff (at the moment at least).
To create an Oracle BAM connection:
1. Select New from the File main menu in Oracle JDeveloper.
The New Gallery dialog opens.
2. Choose Connections from the General category.
3. Select BAM Connection in the Items list, and click OK.
The BAM Connection wizard opens. .....................................
Unfortunately there is no BAM connection option. I guess is should be between "Application Server Connection" and "Database Connection"
This may really be another post although I guess it is still relevant to the original question of how to set up an easy example of ADS.

Active component Framework

hi,
I have a webdynpro app which will allow to download a pdf template(interactive form).
If any end user(client-The person who should fill the form)downloads it to his local desktop,should his PC have Active component Framework installed, so that he can edit and upload it afterwards.Is it necessary that all end users should have ACF installed.

Webdynpro view has two options.
1.direct entry(link)
2.upload filled pdf
Both the options will go to the same view ,where he can enter details manually for(direct entry) and just shows the uploaded details (for upload),so When the end user uploads his filled pdf template, how can I display his details(uploaded) in the next view of the webdynpro .

Missing activity reporting framework component

Hello,
I have been trying to install some components for BI on my portal but in order to do that I have to install KM base components.
But when I try to do that I get this error at validation in JSPM:

Unresolved dependency problem in chain of dependent item 'sap.com_com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.service'. Deployment of archive /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/KMCBC04P_20-10008093.SCA --> com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.service.sda for component sap.com/com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.service is rejected because it does not pass the validation check. Detailed message: 1. Unresolved dependencies: sap.com/com.sap.portal.activityreportingframework not found in the admitted batch items and the repository
I cannot find any useful info on where to get this com.sap.portal.activityreportingframework or in which component it should be.
I am using SAP Netweaver portal v. 7.3 SP4 trial edition.
Can anyone help?

The SCA deploy fails due to dependence to a portal component. It seems the com.sap.portal.activityreportingframework is missing. Could you please replace manually on the system the fixed part of the SCA. In order to do this open the KMCBC.sca and extract the bc.cfg_api.jar and bc.cfg_cor.jar to the following location: \usr\sap\<SID>\upg\java\<SID>\JCxx\j2ee\cluster\bin\services\tc~km~config~srv
After that restart the 7.30 system and retry the deployment.

No VCRole found in Visual Composer

Hi All
We've installed the following VC Components:
1. VISUAL COMPOSER BASE 7.01
2. VISUAL COMPOSER FLEX 7.01
3. VISUAL COMPOSER FRAMEWORK 7.01
4. VISUAL COMPOSER GP KITS 7.01
5. VISUAL COMPOSER XX KITS 7.01
After logging in to the Visual composer story board, it shows the error: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.gm.cnt/core/VCRole is not assigned
I've checked through User Management to assign particular role, but unable to find any role related to pcd*. On the forums, it is mentioned that VC Framework does deliver such roles, which I've already installed. Any suggestion of what I should do next?

I am just trying to access the VC from the portal url. I am getting the following error.

Roles specification: You don't have a Visual Composer role.

What role need to add to my userid?

you cannot find these roles, then make sure that you have installed the following files:
Goto the SWDC -> http://service.sap.com/swdc
Click on SAP Support Packages -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP Netweaver -> NETWEAVER -> (NW04s or applicable) -> Entry by Component -> Enterprise Portal
Scroll all the way to the bottom and download the following files for deployment

Save model with visual composer

hello,
when i save the model with visal composer framework, it save the model but only the model. i mean that pages, Iviews, objects, ... are not saved with the model.
i don't have any erro message that could help !

GUI - Actor Framework - Decisions

"Hi there,
I think I am pretty clear about how to use the Actor framwork's and I would like to
have some guidance about to use the framework in my project.
This VI is a very simplified version of the actual layout.
Basically, there is only one hardware performing different types of measurements, send TX and RX messages through CAN and LIN.
My development strategy is
I intend to create an actor for everything related to the hardware measurements that I consider as the measurement bench.
This hardware will have to perform some asynchronous operations and will eventually send some messages / commands to others actors.
Those commands will contain for instance, the stuff (value type of course, I'm not willing to message everything with references) related to the information do display to the end-user in different VI.
The other actors representing different VI in some containers will send commands to this actors
In short, I was thinking about creating about 10 actors and more:
1) The most important one: the Bench (containing the settings and parameters in the class cluster) and performing the actions related to the hardware, inputs and outputs and inform other actors about what it just (if doing performing actions synchronously) or what is available (if some things are asynchronously in a loop). [Not sure if splitting the concerns of the Bench purposes into additional actions is really wise or not (especially since it will embed a VISA reference), it will probably require to additional lock accros the different Bench related actors with something like below:
- Bench Master Actor (to send and receive message to the enduser actors and dispatch the work with the two other Bench related actors)
- Bench Synchronous Actions Actor
- Bench Asyncrhonous Actions Actor
It's also in charge of receiving orders to start, stop, notify, performing actions asynchronously and / or synchronously.
2) Actor (especially the core as): VI ML
3) Same strategy for VI BRC
4) Same strategy for VI TRC
5) Same strategy for VI 1
6) Same strategy for VI 2
7) Same strategy for VI 3
8) Same strategy for VI 4
9) Optional: VI TM ... not really necessary I guess except to go with full actor everywhere..

Updating the SAP IDM Provisioning Framework

HI Laurent,
I know this has been posted and answered for some time but reading the documentation on how to upgrade the provisioning framework is not really clear to me what will happen and I am hoping you have the experience now to help me (importing the SAP Provisioning Framework.mcc file).
Reading the documentation it sounds like the whole provisioning framework from SAP should have been disabled and renamed during implementation but all I have done is use the SAP framework and put the custom tasks in a different folder.
In the identity center I have the provisioning framework folder and underneath I have custom tasks, core and connector folders. Do you know if I import the new .mcc file will it overwrite my custom tasks folder and effectively delete it?

However, the basic process is just to import it. You should make sure that you have backups first. Note that there are some options when importing that will help you through controlling what gets overwritten. Best practice is always to make sure that your active provisioning framework is renamed so that when you import the new version it will not cause conflicts. I've never really had to upgrade my frameworks so hopefully someone out there will have some "hands on" advice to share.

Maintenance Optimizer - Activate Switch Framework

When I calculate in mopz the packages the system writes, that I must activate the switch framework in the satellite system.
Whitch framework does it means?

In order to make a correct auto-calculation when customer has SAP ERP 6.0 -ECC server instance installed. MOPZ try to get the active switch framework information.
So, it's not mandatory to maintain the RFC for all product systems in SMSY that you run MOpz trasaction for. It's only mandatory for product system with PV SAP ERP 6.0 and instance ECC server.
If you have active switch frame work for this ERP system while MOPZ can't get this information by valid RFC. The calculation is not correct then.
That's why MOPZ import this new error RFC destination is not available to get switch framework information! Message no. MOPZ_CHECKS237
To deactivate the RFC check for ERP, is not recommended by SAP!
In order to bypass the RFC destination check, you can set the user profile parameter "VALIDATION_MODE" with value "X"
You can reactivate the RFC check easily when you find you need it. Delete the user profile parameter "VALIDATION_MODE" with value "X"

Actor Framework: Should I merge Errors and error Codes?

Hi guys--
Actor Framework, LV2012: In general, should I be merging normal Error lines with the "error code" lines that occur in some of the override VI's? Or are these meant to be two distinct channels of information?
Attached is a contrived example (I wouldn't normally pass this particular error) that illustrates the kind of situation I find myself puzzling over.
I encounter such situations sometimes when overriding "Stop Core". Assuming one did not want to suppress the error at "Destroy Event", is this the proper way to handle this situation?

Communication problem between Adobe Form and WebDynpro

Hi all,
I have the following problem and am thankful for any help I can get from you in order to solve it:
I created an Adobe Form in WebDynpro. In both the WebDynpro as well as in the Adobe Form, I created a Submit Button (which I binded to the same method) as well as a text field (which I binded to the same context attribute). When I do changes in WebDynpro, everything works fine and the changes are displayed in the Adobe Form as well.
But when I do changes in the Adobe Form, these changes are not submitted. Also the Submit button in the Adobe Form is not working.
I send the project to a colleague and she could deploy and run my project without any problems. So I think it is a problem with my settings or installation. I already did a reinstallation of the NW Developer Studio as well as the Adobe Lifecycle Designer. But it did not help.
Did anyone have a similar problem or has a suggestions what else I could do?

Hi Thorsten,
If the submit button doesn't do anything, it usually means there's something wrong with your client software.
Are you using NW04s or NW04? NW04 only supports ACF (Active Component Framework) forms, whereas NW04s also supports ZCI (Zero Client Installation) forms (there're different Submit buttons in Adobe LiveCycle Designer). Reader 7.0.9 should definitely work in all cases, but Reader 8.0 (and Reader 8.1, released yesterday) doesn't work properly with ACF forms (there's an SAP note on this subject).
To use ZCI forms, all you need is Adobe Reader at client side. To use ACF forms, you also need some other client software: either (the correct version!) SAP Active Component Framework (stand alone software that you can download from SAP Marketplace; it's part of some SAP note; search for xACF and select the correct version of the note). A better option is not to install xACF manually (uninstall it if present, using Control Panel > Add/Remove programs), but to use the ActiveX control instead (reinstall it in your case because of the problem you have). First kill the AcroRd32.exe process, if it is running. Then go to "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files" and delete the file AdobeControl(s) (NW04) or AcfControls (something similar; NW04s) if present. Then access your form in your Web Dynpro application using IE (Firefox doesn't support ActiveX; the only option is to use ZCI forms with non-IE browsers). If all goes well, prior to displaying the form, IE should ask to install an ActiveX control (it will only be asked if you have sufficient privileges, that is belong to the local Administrators group).

"Submit to SAP" Button doesn't work

I'm trying to develop an interactive form using NW04 SP22. My problem is that the submit to sap button doesn't work. I think I have not properly installed active component framework (ACF) on my client pc but I can't find the right ACF to install. Interactive forms takes too long to load - sometimes crashes reader.

Hi Gurus,
I'm just wondering if anyone have this problem?
I just configured ADS and created a sample WD program to display an interactive form, the form is not complex, only 2 text fields and an image.
But when I deploy or run the program, the interactive form container hangs and take very long to process before displaying.
After I save the PDF file to a local drive, when I try to open it, it will take very long and sometimes crash my system.
Even when I click on "PDF Preview" to view the form in NWDS it take very long too.
At first I thought it could be due to my system and I open downloaded PDF file on other PCs, but the problem occurs too in those PCs.
Using Acrobat Reader 8.1.2, then downgraded to 8.1.1, still no avail.
Everytime I open the PDF or WD loads the PDF, when I check the Task Manager the process of AcroRdr32 will hog the system processes and use up the memory. I have no problems with other PDF files, only those generated by the WD application gives problems.
Someone hit the same problem? Any advise? Could it be the ACF or Adobe lifecycle issues?

Hi Jansen,
If you are using Adobe Reader 8.1.* or above and activex controls in your form, you need to install the latest version of ACF and that will resolve the issue. And do remember to uninstall your old version of Adobe Reader first and then install Reader 8.1.* freshly and after installing it proceed with ACF installation. You have to follow the sequence.
