Active Condition- Null Pointer Exception
Hi,
I have a query where I use a condition for a keyfigure.
I got null pointer exception if the conditions is active.
However when I deactivate the condition no problem occurs for the query execution.
What can be the problem?

I have solved the question on my own.
The problem is when executing query with web explorer, the data that comes with "0" value returns Null.
My data was ok to not to use any data with "0" value, thats why U have changed the wuery and solved it.

Null Pointer exception in fullscreen using active rendering
When I create a window use it in fullscreen with active rendering, then close fullscreen, dispose the window and create an identical window wich I use in fullscreen again with active rendering I get a Null pointer exception. The exception happens in the active rendering loop of the second window. Why does this happen and how do I solve it?

hi all,
I have a recursive node as a child node for a value node. I have created an instance of the value node.
I also have accessed current elem of this value node. Since every elem of this value node will have recursive node also in it, I want to access the recursive node present in the elem.
I want to do this using general node and element API - ie IWDNode and IWDNodeElement.
No specific node name can be used coz this is done for a generic method which takes a value node a as parameter and tries to create child elems for the node accessing the recursive node present in it.
How can this be done ?
I am using the following code.

Its actually pity simple. If you will read the Javadocs you will find that there are various ways in which you can get the list of all chil nodes of a parent node.
You just have to iterate over the chil nodes and get the names of the node.

However for your requirement there can be following ways to get the list of the chil nodes. Please check these two code snippets:

i. The null pointer exception was due to using a complex query I was using in the LOV query. I tried a simple query and that worked fine.
ii. For modifying the user defined attributes one can consult the following forum post:

We have a Crystal Designer/Developer Version 11.5.10.1263. We develop reports using this.
Most of the reports have SQL Command mode design with JNDI/JDBC connection. It gets deployed with our Web application. And during runtime, when users access these reports from our web application, we typically use Java Reporting Component with Crystal Report Viewer SDK to open and display the report to the user.
Besides other issues, current problem I am having is:
I have a sub-report in my report. I am connecting to Oracle database. If this sub-report does not return any rows, I was getting a Null Pointer Exception. This seems to be a known bug. This happened to us when we had just the above mentioned components.
We recently upgraded just the JAR libraries to the ones packaged in CR4E (Crystal Reports For Eclipse) - initially to get more exporting capability.This upgrade gets us past the Null Pointer Exception issue.
Now, I am getting an error like "Unexpected database connector error". Please see the exception stack trace below if needed. Since we are a product and this display is specific to one out of about 100 different clients; with all the time we spent on making this report stuff work against this oracle DB client, we had finally ended up creating the display in JSP into our general product just for one of about 100 clients. Client must be the Lucky one...As a developer, I felt really frustrated.
One note:- SQL Server DB works perfect.
Other thing - Do we need to change any API calls after upgrading the JARS from standard JRC/Viewer to CR4E package?

In my case, I can get my report to work with a single subreport. When I put multiple subreports, I get the same error as you are currently getting.
Check if your report has any special section formatting (conditional suppression etc). Try to remove those to see if it helps at all. -

1.First check whether your agents are working and test connection to repositories. If everything ok, you might have changed your repository name recently.
2.When you export your work and master repository and import to another schema or database and whether you connect to your imported repository, you change your repository name in your first environment.
3.Correct order is first rename your Master Repository name, log off / log on and change your Work Repository name and check below fields in both your Master and Work Repositories in both environments.
Master Repository : SNP_REM_REP
Work Repository : SNP_LOC_REPW
REP_NAME column of MASTER_REP.SNP_REM_REP should be equal to REP_NAME column in WORK_REP.SNP_LOC_REPW.
You cannot see WORK_REP.SNP_LOC_REPW value in ODI Topology Manager and if you are changing your repository name you need to update value from database.
Change the value from DB, loggoff and logon the user and connect the designer again.

Java null pointer exception while getting a segment DFF handle

my requirement is to make a field mandatory based upon a dff segment value (Y/N). i override PFR since segment is a poplist on the page (and poplists don't fire any event)
i searched in the "view source" of the page and found that segment id is ActFlexField0

i am able to print 1° comment line but not second. so i think it's something wrong getting the segment handle.
anyway i'm not able to reach your suggested if statement because execution stops before.

page doesn't give error and saves data.

Null Pointer Exception with Oracle Transformer

I'm getting a NullPointerException after building a DOM tree and feeding it to a stream via the Oracle JAXP transformer. I am trying to convert the data in DOMSource to PDF file. The following code:

Null Pointer Exception while configuring SAML Credential Mapper
Hi,
I am trying to set up my customised SAML code for WLS 10.3. To test it , I have created a standalone suite with 2 applications,one as a source where the authentication will be through simple username and password and second as destination where the identity assertion will take place based on token generated in first app.
So to achieve this , I am using a default SAMLCredentialMapperV2 for credential mapping at source site. But While configuring it, the management tab of the credential mapper shows null pointer exception.
Can anyone point out whats wrong or if I am missing on anything?
Steps to create:-
1. Create a security realm
2.Goto security realm ->Provider ->Credential Mapping tab.
3.Create a credential mapper of type SAMLCredentialMapperV2 and with specifications as mentioned in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/entarch/sso-with-saml3-086457.html
4. Click on the newly created mapper and go to management tab. It throws null pointer exception which is visible on the screen.

I have set the following in the ns_emails.xml

Moreover I have also have SMTP server as the incoming server.
Now I have a simple BPEL PROCESS having Email Activity of sending a mail.
The "To" section has "[email protected]".
I am not able to recive the mail and I have also cheked the SMTP server there is no mail there but BPEL Process runs fine.
I also have one Script which can send mail to the user Ihave mentioned and it works fine.So server setting seems to be fine.Are there any other setting required.
If you are able to send the mail then can you give me your inputs on this issue.

REG : Null Pointer Exception for RFC values
Hi All,
I am facing peculiar erro in code.I need to check the null entries in SAP server then it should be replaced by space and if not null then should be replaced by the value in backend.But it is throwing null pointer exception
I am using equalsignore case(null) and trim for space.
I am not getting why its is throwing null pointer exception.Kindly advise

We are trying to make an project where we can make a person register in our data base & after which he/she can search for other user.
The logged in user can modify his/her own data but can view other ppl's data.
We are in a phase of registering the user & that's where we are stuck. The problem is that after the login screen when we hit register (OK- button) the data are not getting entered in the data base.
Can u please help me??

Null pointer exception and servlet
I cant figure out why i am getting a null pointer exception. this works if i keep my form output in the same class as my driving servlet. All i did was break off the html display to a new form and i get a null pointer exception.

And in fact there is. I am sure you have not yet looked up the Exception class and the versions of its printStackTrace() method. But when you do, you will see that there are printStackTrace(PrintStream) and printStackTrace(PrintWriter). And you know how to write HTML (or text in general) to the servlet response so that it shows up in the client's browser, right? I will let you figure out how to put those things together.
