Active content and templates aren't playing nice

All the inside pages of a site are based on the same
template. Here is the catch: about half of them and the index page
contain some form of active script.
The problem is I can't get the pages to accept the script
without detatching them from the template. I do NOT want to do
this. I must be missing something simple. How do I get this to
work?

You realize that your page has no navigation when javascript
is disabled,
due to your all-javascript menu approach? This means that it
will not be
spidered, and it is not accessable....
Also, I am getting this error in IE6 when the page loads - at
the top of the
page. I'm not sure why you are getting that.
XML error: XML_ERR_NAME_REQUIRED at line 7
I'd fix the coding errors there first, and then attack the
Flash thing....

Active Content and Yellow Bar in IE

Hi there
I recently downloaded a FrontPage template which contains
some active flash content such as a menu and transition images.
Every time I open the web site in IE the yellow security bar
pops up (in Windows XP SP2). But when I visit other sites with
similar active content no bar pops up. When I hover the mouse of
the content the ‘Click to activate and use this
control’ label appears which is ok no problem.
Does anyone know how to prevent the yellow bar from
appearing?

I'll give you more detail about the issue perhaps that can
help;
When the page loads up in IE the HTML and images load fine
now problem but the
main menu content which is .swf remains unloaded. The yeloow
bar pop ups to
allow the blocked content. Once i have unblocked the content
a confirmation box
appears and then the main feature is loaded into IE.
I'm just wondering could it be doing this because its
loading the content
locally, as in from Temp Inter Files but if it was downloaded
from the internet
live this yellow bar would bypassed?

MacBook Pro and 27" Display not playing nice together

I'm having a rather strange problem with my Early 2011 MacBook Pro and my 27" Apple Display (Mini-Display port). They don't want to play nice together. The display will randomly/intermittently disconnect and turn black, then reconnect, sometimes after a second or so, but sometimes not for a good 10 seconds or more.
- My MBP works fine on other monitors (Thunderbolt 27", 24" LG via DVI adaptor).
- My wife's MBP works fine on this monitor.
- Had a tech look at the monitor, his MacBook works on it fine too.
- The combination of my MBP and this 27" Apple Display gives you the result shown in the video.
It happens quite frequently -- often enough to make working on this combination unbearable. But I have no clue as to what's going on here.
In "System Information" under "Graphics / Displays", the display not show up as connected to either the PCIe or Built-In graphics adapter when the 27" has turned black. When the screen is on, it shows up.

Your video shows the MacBook Pro display turning blue for a few seconds, several different times. This is an acknowledgement that a display is coming (or going).
Unencumbered by anything sensible, my diagnosis would be that you have a loose connection.
Mini DisplayPort cables can be diabolical. When inserting, you must make certain that essentially ALL of the metal end disappears inside the computer jack.

I'm having problems with Twitter loading up a completely blank page and no longer displaying content and with Bloomberg not playing videos

I'm having problems with Twitter not loading up content and showing me a blank page. I've tried to empty the browser cache but it doesn't seem to work.
I also have issues with Bloomberg not playing videos

Flash Player 9 and IE don't play nice

If you have a Flash movie with external calls, it crashes
when you try to navigate to another web page. You will receive an
'Out of Memory' error. This seems to be a problem with the way
Flash Player 9 handles the unload Handler when the web page's
javascript onUnload event is fired.
I have experiened this with both IE6 and IE7 RC1.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I came accross the same problem.
As of today, the only source I could find that addresses the
issue is:

but their solution doesn't appear to be working reliably enough. I
am still getting "Out of Memory at line:56" errors even when I use
the suggested workaround.
I hope that the next version of the Flash Player will include

P2 Footage and Leopard won't play nice

I have final cut 5.1.4 and I have some P2 footage that I would like to import, however, when I open final cut it says that I am missing a codec. I can't seem to find where I can replace this missing codec and I am curious if anyone else has had this issue after upgrading to leopard?? Pre-leopard I had no issues at all editing this footage and had imported many hours with little to no problems. Now....not so much. I do however hear the audio when playing already imported footage. When I attempt to play footage in the p2 import window the play head doesn't even move.

8120 videos and songs aren't playing

I have an 8120 w/ a memory card. Last night I was watching the videos on my phone and listening to songs w/ no problem. Today nothing will play! It takes me to the screen but then does nothing. Someone please help! Thanks so much!

Regarding the songs not playing through, I noticed none of the songs in my library had the little tick mark beside them. I ticked a few of them and they played from one to another. I went through my whole library, ticking everysong and no the problem is fixed. I only have 733 songs so it didn't take me too long. I don't know of a short way of doing it.

ITunes and Motion don't play nice

If I have iTunes playing a song or paused on a song, then switching to Motion from another application causes Motion to stall and beachball for 30 seconds to a minute. If iTunes is quit or if the music is "stopped," there is no problem. My library is about 75 GB.
Can anyone think of why iTunes and Motion might have a conflict?

in my prior thread, the application switch beachball was an afterthought for a larger issue.
i'm just reaching out to this thread to confirm that someone else has the same issue.
this issue has persisted with all updates of Motion v2 and iTunes v7 to date, as well as all versions of 10.4.
i have no solution other than to close iTunes.

Enigmail and GnuPG Don't Play Nice With Permissions

In Thunderbird, I've got Enigmail to handle my GPG shit. The problem is that Enigmail needs to read .gnupg/private-keys-v1.d
STRING is the random string in the filename, I don't know if that is sensitive. If anyone can tell me what that is, bonus kudos.

Anyways, it works fine if I change the permissions of .gnupg
However, the Arch wiki states that the permissions for .gnupg should be 700 and the files be 600 (which they are now). Otherwise gpg spits out a warning message. I don't know how big a deal this really is, there isn't much to be gained if my encrypted email were comprimised. But I try to implement best security practices on principal.
I'm feel this has to be an easy solution, change enigmails access privilidges?

The way I read the table at that link, the driver is already installed in Leopard -- so there is a chance that what you downloaded isn't as good as what shipped with Leopard.

Chromium and sound don't play nice together

Arch64, Chromium from the repos.
Long story short, if I play a YouTube video or anything similar, suddenly I can't play ANY sounds elsewhere until I close the browser down again.
Example: listening to music via MPD. I open a YouTube video. It doesn't play. I stop my music and watch the video. Once the video's done, I can't play any music until I shut down Chromium.

This works for me. If I don't have these modules blacklisted then I am able to reproduce the same problem as OP has. With the modules blacklisted everything works as it should.

[SOLVED] MPD and Mplayer don't play nice

At the moment, I have to kill the MPD process in order to get MPlayer to play sound, otherwise a 'resource is busy' type message comes up.
I'm using alsa and using self compiled Mplayer (from svn).
Any suggestions?

Also, please don't tell me to set stalonetray as withdrawn, or to play around in obconf. I need openbox to ignore the fact that stalonetray exists so that it wont draw a border. I need devilspie to tell stalonetray to be a dock so that xcompmgr will ignore it with the -cC switch.

So, does that mean that there is no way for me to simultaneously have xcompmgr ignore stalonetray and have openbox not draw a border around it?

Getting DSL Modem, TimeCapsule, and XBox 360 to play nice

I just bought a 1TB Time Capsule and pretty much hooked it up without reading the manual by using what seemed like the defaults. Everything seems to be working fine...I've got internet access, my two MacBooks are backing up using Time Machine...my only issue is that XBox 360, which connects wirelessly, is offline, (i.e., it can't connect to XBox Live.)
I have AT&T DSL internet. I plugged my TC into the Westell DSL Modem and ran the Airport configuration software. Using the default or recommended options, My TC assumed the settings for the wireless server of my Westell Modem. (I selected the "Bridge" setting when I got to that part.) When I was told to turn off the other wireless device (My Westell modem's wireless), I just logged on to the modem and turned off the wireless.
Everything worked fine...until I went to get on to XBox Live. It fails the connection test on XBox. (Everything else still works great.)
What do I need to do to get the XBox back up and running? It appears that my Westell is the router, handing out IP addresses, and my TC is just a wireless bridge to my Westell. Why wouldn't it hand an address to the XBox just like is doing for my two MacBooks?
I still have my HP Color LaserJet hooked up via ethernet to the Westell.
Is there a better way to hook all this up?

Maybe I shouldn't have said I have the "default settings". At each step along the initial configuration path, I read the details for each option, and choose the path that would seem to work best in my environment.
In my initial post that indicated that I chose the "Bridge" route that you recommended, but my XBox 360 is not getting an IP address from my Westell DSL modem. Yet my 2 MacBooks, 1 MacBook Pro, 2 iPhones and 1 iPod touch all seem to get served IP addresses without a hitch.
There was a was an option about NAT & Something else after "Bridge" was selected. Is there something about that setting that would allow Mac stuff to access my network, but prevent a Microsoft-rigid device like an XBox 360 from gaining access?

TS3623 I paused my rented movie on Apple TV. Now I continuously get an "Error loading content" and it won't play. I've turned it off/on, reset, etc., no luck.

Four minutes into my movie, I paused it to answer the phone. Now I can't get it to come back on. I've held the center button on the remote to turn off the Apple TV, then turned it back on, my internet connection is fine, I've tried starting it over from the beginning. It just won't come back on. Meanwhile, since I started the movie, my 24-hour time-limit to watch it is ticking down.
This is annoying! Any possible solutions? I get "error loading content" a lot - more than reasonable. Usually with Netflix, but sometimes this happens with iTunes movies as well.

[SOLVED] xcompmgr, feh and openbox don't play nice

Hey,
I started using Openbox with xcompmgr a few days ago. I start xcompmgr in .xinitrc, then a few apps later Openbox (see .xinitrc file). Problem is, xcompmgr paints my background gray. Calling feh later doesn't paint a new background image. I read in the wiki that the problem is with xcompmgr and the solution is to use hsetroot (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xco … Openbox.29). This doesn't solve the problem for me. All it does is paint my background before xcompmgr repaints it gray. If it matters, my login manager's SLIM and this is my .xinitrc:

I use similar settings to yours, but:
- they are in ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh
- no "hsetroot"
- nitrogen, instead of feh
Besides: why did you place xcompmgr and feh on the same line? Did you try with two different lines, one for each command?
