Active content update and aspx pages

i understand that Microsoft recently released an update to
Internet Explorer that changes how Internet Explorer handles some
web pages that use interactive controls. i have downloaded the
update and have included the java script on my site. and so far i
have not had any issues getting this to work with any of my html
pages. however, when i have any flash work on my aspx pages the
grey bar still appers around my work.
what do i need to do to get my flash to work with aspx pages.
any information will help. thanks.

"Apply Active Content Update" message ONLY in Firefox

Here's my new website:

When I view it in IE it looks great. When I view it in
Firefox (like for the Press link) I get this error:
This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js. In Flash run
"Apply Active Content Update" in the Commands menu to copy
AC_RunActiveContent.js to the HTML output folder.
I already did all of this and yes the js file is there, in
the same directory. Any ideas why this isn't working?

FIREFOX FIX FOR VS.NET 2005 USERS:
This issue happens when using Visual Studio 2005 as the
editor.
I copied the <HEAD> portion of a page that worked and
pasted it in the bad page. When saving the file in the VS editor it
gives me this message:
Some Unicode characters in this file could not be saved in
the current
codepage. Do you want to resave this file as Unicode in order
to maintain
your data? Yes, No, Save With Other Encoding or Cancel
I selected NO and everything is fine.

Active Content Update Issue

I hope someone can help me! Here is the deal, I want to make
a button that will open a blank page with a PDF document. I can get
it to work with GETurl, but I cannot figure out how to apply active
content update to the new page. It works fine on a Mac, but on a PC
when the new window opens I get the warning messages and have to
click the top bar and say "allow content etc.". Does anyone know
what code I can use to tell the new html page to apply the active
content update? Or can anyone tell me a better way to achive the
same thing.

Active Content has nothing to do with performance of the
movie.
It is in regard to licensing of the player technology -
nothing else.
Perhaps the clients do not have the latest player and low in
resources
machines ? Your movie seem overly big for what it does.
Probably reducing
quality of images and sound w/o losing much of an actual
quality could cut
the file down at least to 1MB, help the playback a bit.
It could be real drainage for older machines.
The video works for me just fine so my guess is they simply
do not have
compatible player.

Active content update for dw8

Hi guys, I've just installed the active content updater found
at
http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html#dw8
and reopened my html files that contain flash and agreed to the
prompt. I then saved changes and uploaded the files to my ftp but
the flash content seems to have disappeared in the html file
comlpetely! An example of one of the pages is here:

. this is really annoying does anyone have any ideas why. I have

Active Content Update HTML behavior

I am rebuilding all my flash websites to address the
double clicking and framing issue due to MicroSoft's IE ActiveX
controls. I should have done this months ago, but I'm a Mac user
and no one freakin told me. I now also have a Vaio LS1 "very cool".
Anyway I have downloaded and installed the MX extention and figured
that one out, no problem. It has been simple to create swf
conatiners with revised html published form the Flash 8 engine. My
new problems lie in 2 areas, html background tiles and preloaders;
1 – I can't seem to center the swf (no scaling) and put
page tiles in the html that are visible. The only way I seem to be
able to center the swf is the make the html 100% instead of the swf
pixel size. If I go for a transarent window it screws with the
color. I believe I need to put a command in the code that specifies
to add the tile background to the html table that Flash has
created. I just haven't been able to get it to work... Anybody
solve this one?
2 – I have been using 2 preloaders, one that loads the
frames of the movie it is in and the other loads an external movie.
I have not been able to get either of them to work properly accross
the various browsers when I'm using swf containers and the Active
Content Update. I'm totally bug-eyed reading through all the techno
babble published here and on the MSN sites. Anybody got the right
preloader code to load external movies into swf containers (that
recognizes first frame (stop) script) with the Active Content
Update html?

Somebody is going to know what's going on. Here's the quick

I am using flash for advertising, and I usually link to the

Hi guys this is my first post, and well usually i fund every
solution, but now is getting on my nervs!!

far, but now is showing the swf with out the "frame ", and notice

Active content updater not working

hello, i am having alot of trouble getting the active content
updater for my flash to work, i have followed all directions and i
still have to click to activate the content? i am using Flash 8
professional. Any help please?

Active content update

I have downloaded and installed the active content update to
publish my flash.
However I can't get the swf to be center aligned to the
browser. I can get it left and right, but not center.
the part of the code that holds the details on the swf are as
follows.... PLease note this is how it default publishs when you
ask for it to be center aligned in the publish settings.

You would have thought that perhaps the
'align', 'middle',
should infact be
'align', 'center',
but this doesn't work. However if you change it to right it
right aligns the movie.. how do you centeralise it?

Active Content Update ruins my Flash Intro

Forum,
I installed the Active Content Update to get rid of the
"Click here to Activate this Content" message during mouseovers on
my Flash Intro.
However, now that the message is gone, I have two problems
that are somehow being controlled by the AC_RunActiveContent.js or
something.
1. The flash is supposed to be centered on the screen, but
instead it's in the upper left. Even the html calls for it to be
middle.
2. The "Skip Intro" and "Sound" controls are gone
Can anybody help me understand what happened and what I need
to do to fix it?

Combine content from selected aspx pages and Consolidate to pdf

I have a new requirement in one of the SharePoint portals :
Contents are placed on ASPX pages using a content editor
A feature to select pages and combine all the content from content editor of these pages into a pdf document
Is there a way to access only
the content stored in content editor and consolidate them in to one data source and then convert that in to a pdf file ?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to convert the content in content editor webpart to PDF file.
I suggest you can use read content from content editor web part to a string variable using ContentEditorWebPart class.

How can i deploy a silverlight application when it contains an aspx page (And Aspx page content is a DevExpress Scheduler)

I have a silverlight application. It has containing many navigation pages in it. One of this pages is containing an .aspx page and i have used devexpress scheduler on there. It is working perfect on development machine but on production machine when client
logged and navigate to the scheduler page there is a message top of the page saying
webbrowser is enabled only for out-of-browser applications running with elevated permissions in Internet Explorer.

Things that require elevated trust will always work in visual studio.
You need elevated trust to use the webbrowser inside a Silverlight page on a user's machine.
That means purchasing a security certificate.

You can open up any old web page in another tab from Silverlight and I would suggest you consider that instead of using a webbrowser control inside a Silverlight page.

So I have version 7 SWF on a page, and DW8 wants to apply its
"IE Active
Content block fix" to the page, after which time, the SWF no
longer shows
up. The page just sits there bank. There had been a posting
here months ago
about a cgc.js fix, but I can't find the details on that
now...
Has anyone else run into this? How should we handle it?

I am trying to open a website that is using Microsoft content viewer, and the page does not show. Any ideas on how to view this site using firefox. It works on IE.

I am participating in an online class whose website uses Microsoft Content Viewer to view the class content. The browser opens a new page, but nothing is there. At the top of the tab it says Microsoft Content Viewer, and nothing else. Can anyone tell me how to view my course using Firefox? I would prefer not to use IE, but it works there.

When originally creating the pdf, you would need to choose another pdf conversion setting. In Word if you use the pdf menu, change your settings there: Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. I would use High Quality Print instead. If you use the File > Print method, click the Properties button next to the Adobe PDF printer selection.
For your already created form, you can change the file so your users will not encounter issues. In Acrobat 9, which hopefully is similar in process to 8: Advanced > Preflight > Profile tab > PDF/A compliance > Remove PDF/A information.(You'll have to unsecure your form first).

Targeting SWF via JS with Active Content update

Hi all, I've tried the DW8 forum without success, can anyone
here help please?
I have to upgrade an old site which uses Javascript to
control Flash content. If I allow Dreamweaver 8 to implement the
Active Content code fix for the IE interactivity workaround , the
external javascript controls no longer work.
Can anyone advise what must be changed to allow the external
JS to target the SWF correctly?
Here's an example of the current external JS that triggers an
SWF file OK when clicked.

I use SWFObject to embed the Flash, which fixes the IE
issues, and have no
issues still controlling the movie from JS like you
mentioned.
