The active file monitor service, allowing the "control records" did not install it does not appear in services.msc

Adobe Active File Monitor V12 will not start/ program crashes & other errors

I have recently installed Version 12 of Photoshop Elements on Windows XP Pro (service pack 3).
If I try to specify "Watched Folders" PE tells me to start the Adobe Active File Monitor in Admin Tools - Services.
If I try to manually start this service it reports that:

In addition the Photoshop Organiser crashes frequently and If I edit a picture and save it to the stack, it does not appear in the catalogue so I have to manually get the picture and stack it with the original. I assume that these problems are related to the above problem.
My original installation co-existed with Version 3 so I uninstalled this old version then uninstaled and reinstalled version 12. This made no difference to the problem.
Any ideas on this problem?

Killing the AutoAnalyzer using these instructions (http://barbarabrundage.com/2013/10/31/the-elements-12-auto-analyzer-adobes-evil-undead/doe s ) does seem to have solved the problem of edited pictures not being saved to the stack - although I have noticed that since disabling the autoanalyzer, when saving a file, the editor almost always now does not display the option window which allows you to choose if you want to save with the stack etc. It usually only shows the JPEG quality selector window.
Its too early for me to say if making this change has reduced the frequency of crashes but it certainly has not solved the problem with the Watched Folders so Im still looking for a solution to this one.

Can't find the Active File Monitor Service

I just purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 13 on my Windows 8.1 OS. I was having the version 9 on my previous computer and never had any issue with it.
I want to define the folder that I need to monitor in Photoshop Elements 13. But when I click on the option in the "File" menu, I get a message saying that I need to start the service "Adobe Active File Monitor". Problem is that this service seems not to be installed. It is not listed in my services. How can I fix that? Is there another installation that I need to run aside to have this service installed?

P.S: I know how to monitor, start, stop, set services. It is just not listed, so probably not installed.

OK forget about this. I tried the chat with a technician that didn't know what to tell me. He referred me to a senior engineer that suggested to simply uninstall and reinstall the software which indeed fixed the problem.
So the solution: uninstall and reinstall.

Active file monitor adobe

I can't find and open service "the active file monitor Adobe". Not present in the services part from the configurations.

If you invoke File > Watch Folders and get the error message “The Watch Folder Service is unavailable”, restart the file-monitor service:
Go to the Windows Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, select “Adobe Active File Monitor vx” (substitute your pse version number for x). Right-click Properties, make sure Start Type is set to Automatic. Then click Start.
The Active File Monitor service is supposed to be always running, but for some unknown reason, it sometimes gets configured to not run.

Upgrade 9 to 12 - Adobe Active File Monitor 9.0 still running

I've upgraded from Elements 9 to 12. Windows Task-Manager shows Adobe Active File Monitor 9.0 is still running.
Is it neccessary?
If not, how to get rid off?

You can go to Start>Run>Type services.msc. This opens window services. Select the Active monitor services with version 9. Right click>Stop and go to Properties through right click. Select teh start up type as disabled as shown in screenshot.

BPM File monitoring - Alerts not triggered.

we have defined the application monitor for file monitoring in BPM.
the problem is we are not getting any alerts so far,
the file monitoring paramaters we gave are
1. file path, filename * and pattern: az*
we are actually monitoring the availablity of the incoming file, there are also files existing of the same name, the only differentiator is the time stamp.
As per logic, we will be monitoring the latest file that reaches the folder. but no oupt till now.
can any one pls tell how can we proceed further, for the requirement mentioned above, all the necassary authorizations are provided.

The status is gray in RZ20. But when i see in dswp it is in green only.
I tried activating the file size and filae age parameters, according to setup guide it is mentioned that
After activating, the most recent file is considered for creation time of file.
for file size and file age , the existing file details are considered.
but in my case, creation time of file getting some alerts.....eventhogh no file has come after activation.
And file size and file age are still in gray when old file are there available in the specified folder.
kinldy advice on why this is happening.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Novell File Upload extension not Installing

I am trying to install the Novell File Upload extension so I can upload my PE file. It will not let me install the plugin in IE or Firefox. I have tried Firefox 22 and IE 8. I have tried from an XP, Win7 and 2003 server. I have tried all of the Active X switches in IE and I have tried the adding the about:config entries in Firefox.
Has anyone gotten this to work? To be honest this is the first time I have tried to get it to work so I can not say it was working before I updated. I went from 11.2.1 mu2 to 11.2.4.

Pre-installed activated windows 7 says not installed

It says this when I try to activate the key for office 2010 (home and student) when I check back it says activated.
I've given up on contacting microsoft - useless.
Card already sent back as not activated but now it is.

Im afraid I cannot follow you with these keys but here some facts for you:
Toshiba notebooks are delivered with preinstalled and activated operating system. On th notebook is also saved recovery image on recovery partition. You can install it 1000 times but it must not be activated. Using preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator you can create recovery DVD and use it for operating system installation.
Preinstalled OS must not be activated. Windows product key placed on Microsoft label at the bottom of your notebook belongs to operating system you got with your notebook and CANNOT be used for any kind of activation. It is evidence that you use valid and not illegal product.
Recovery image contains Office 2010 but it is NOT full version. It is TRIAL version only. You can start it and use it for 60 or 90 days without registration but when this period of time is expired you must buy valid licence. Please note: Toshiba has nothing to do with this and if you have some activation problems contact Microsoft.

You need a ThinkPad to install Active Protection System, i don't think it will work with a Lenovo 3000.

Help file (F1) did not install but I need it now

I think I did not setup my Outlook for email or skipped the email function when I installed the 2007 B1.
I do not have Help files and I hope there is a easy way to add this Help data. Please advise. Thanks.

It will not help you to create local "B1_SHR" folder since the application expect to find the help files in specific folder.
When you're working with local help, the files are expected to be found under B1 application folder ("C:\Program Files\SAP\Sap Business One\Help").
When you're working with shared help, the files are expected to be found under the path specified in "Help Settings" form ("
xx-Laptop\B1_SHR\Help").
Either way you choose it should work.
On the machine where the help doesn't work, choose the method you want to work with (local or shared) and download help files again accordingly ("Local Installation" / "Shared Folder"). Make sure the files exists under the help folder and click F1 from B1 application. If it doesn't work again I suggest to open a call to support.

MPR Test Tool TC 2.2 - complains on files we have not installed

After completing the MPR test tool guide the report states that I must provide valid file information for a number of filer located in
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\
We do not provide any drivers and we do not touch that folder with our application. Where does this complaint come from?

Hi all,
Any binaries showing in the C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\ directories are a result of Remote Desktop redirection. These will not show if RDS redirection is turned off.
After investigating the files, if purely 3rd party to your code, a waiver may be filed.
In this case only, it is not necessary to include owner names, only to include the files are not owned by your product and are all located in subdirectories of C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\.

HT1349 Trying to install iTunes 11.1.3 on my windows pc so I can synch contacts from my iPad but although I have downloaded the file it will not install

When trying to install the downloaded itunes 11.1.3 on my pc I try to "run as administrator" but nothing happens. I've downloaded the software again, tried again, same result. I need to update to 11.1.3 on my pc (windows 8) so that I can sync contacts from iPad to Outlook. Can anyone help?

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Firefox 4 downloads, extracts files, but does not install - menu pops up to close Firefox, although this was done

Firefox 4 downloads successfully;when I press the button to let it run, the files are all successfully extracted, but when the installation menu pops up an interim bar specifies "checking existing installation" - this is then followed by a pop up menu instructing to close Firefox. The problem is that Firefox has already been closed and I cannot get passed the command menu to close Firefox in order for the installation to commence and complete.

The next step I would recommend is to do some troubleshooting(Safe Mode,Problematic Extensions etc) -

Just to make sure you can get started in Firefox Safe Mode - Hold the Shift key down as you double click on the Firefox icon, ignore the page that opens and Continue. Firefox isn't the only thing that has been updated and new conflicts and culprits can emerge.
I would also recommend a search of your computer to make sure no residue of "Conduit" remains.

File Monitor - Not working properly on SMB file share

The "File Monitor" does not trigger on SMB file share, i think this might be a bug.
I have tried the same "File Monitor" on a windows share, and it works like intended. However, when I use the same runbook on a Solaris SMB share, it does not trigger properly. It triggers when I delete or rename a file, but not any thing else (like
create, changed, etc) I have turned all the triggers on just to see what actually makes it trigger...
I'm using specified authentication (domain user and password)
The SMB folder is shared on a Solaris (SunOS 5.10).
Can anyone confirm that they also have this problem?
