Active ID - unable to change no matter what I do

I recently had to send my original blackberry 8900 back to the provider for a replacement model due to a fault it had developed. This has meant that the Active ID Desktop Manager (DM) uses to identify the device has changed. Since I dont now have access to the original device that DM was setup to work, with I am unable to use the Change Device feature to get this Active ID changed to the one of the new device. I have tried all number of ways of trying to do this including the following:
Uninstalling current version (5.0) of DM and reinstalling it again
Uninstalling current version of DM and installing version 4.7
Generating a new email key
When doing this I have followed the 'clean install' guides and removed all directories and keys from the windows registry and then rebooted before starting a new install. DM even recognises that its a new device and asks me do I want to change and even though I say [Yes] every time it still insists on using the original one.
No matter what I do the same thing happens and the original Active ID is set. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to change it to the new one? Without changing the ID the redirection service will only try and send messages to the original device and not my current one.
I have tried searching the net but all I can find is the steps I have already taken with no luck.

FIM R2 SP1 MPR changes giving me "No policy grants the Requestor permission to complete all changes" no matter what I do

I am implementing FIM R2 SP1 on win 2012 servers and migrating FIM 2010 RTM configurations to the new environment. Some of the custom Sets, MPRs etc did not import correctly into the new portal and when I try to manually add a set or
alter an MPR I recieve the following error
Error processing your request: The operation was rejected because of access control policies.
Reason: The operation failed as a result of insufficient access rights.
Attributes: ActionParameter,ActionType

Request Id:
Details: No policy grants the Requestor permission to complete all changes.
I have tried enabling "all attributes" in "Administration: Administrators control set resources" and "Administration: Administrators control management policy rule resources" and recieved the same errors. I am logged in
as the user who installed the portal and it is a member of the administartors set.
What am I missing? Any ideas welcome please.

Hi Peter,
I found the import had not completely imported the configuration while trying to import the configuration (as I said above) and while trying to troubleshoot this issue I discovered this error.
I have tried importing the old database and this does not help.
I should mention that the configuration is coming from the production environment into a stand-alone development environment for testing.
I have, today, in an attempt to resolve this error, uninstalled the portal and service (which are installed on the same server) and reinstalled it creating a new database. This is to attempt to resolve any "overwritten" default sets or MPRs
as you have suggested.
I thought I would try out the FIM 2010 R2 Service and Portal configuration Backup Tool described here

files to the appropriate place, run the reg keys and sql scripts that it creates and that does it all for you? I was hoping that this might be a successful alternative to the old Import-FIMconfig way of doing things.

My nano's screen is frozen and won't change no matter what I do.

My nano's screen is lit up and is as though I have just pressed the pause button. But it won't change. None of the buttons work. The hold switch doesn't change anything. Even if I plug it into my computer, the computer recognizes the USB being plugged in but iTunes doesn't pop up, nor does the screen change. It has been like this, for 3 hours now. What should I do? I bought the nano on September 25th, 2005.

[FIXED] Openbox - menu won't change no matter what i do..grrr..

Hi, I can't seem to be able to change the openbox menu, whether by manual edit thru menu.xml or using the graphical end obmenu. Restart PC, openbox --reconfigure, openbox --restart, nothing seems to be working.

WRT54GS - Unable to connect no matter what I try

OK, I give up. After a VERY brief power outage during a storm, (it didn't even last long enough to have to reset the microwave), I can't for the life of me connect wirelessly.
First off, I DO have internet service when I connect directly via ethernet to my cable modem.
When I connect the linksys to my cable modem & connect via ethernet, I get both a link light & activity light on my pc, I have an ip address but cannot get online. I've upgraded the firmware, performed a hard reset and power cycled but still no luck. Can anybody tell me if I'm missing something? I find it hard to believe that the router is bad as all the lights work as they should. But, to ME, I cannot think of anything else. Anybody?

Maybe I explained it wrong, let me try it again:
I can go online via my cable modem
I can connect wirelessly to the router but cannot get online
I cannot get online via ethernet port on the router while I have it connected to my cable modem. When connected via an ethernet port on the wireless router, I get a link light and activity light on the PC but cannot get online. In addition, I don't get my ISP's ip address or DNS when connected via ethernet OR wirelessly to the router.
All this after I upgraded the firmware, performed a reset, powercycled it, and started the configuration on the router from scratch
Please let me know if I've left anything out.

Screen Brightness won't change no matter what I do

For the time I've been using ArchLinux my screen brightness buttons don't work. Also power options for adjusting screen brightness do nothing, so you see why I have a problem, my screen eats the laptop's battery... I've also tried adjusting the values of /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD02/brightness, but saw no effect. I'm using an Acer Aspire 5740-5513, which has an intel core i3 using Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD

In the Options box, no matter what I set my Home Page to (Current Pages, Blank Page, Default) I am unable to change my homepage settings; they absolutely will not change and I can't figure it out.

Up to about a month ago, I never had any problems setting my Home Page to Using Current Pages. Then, all of a sudden, I am unable to make any changes to my Home Page no matter what I change the settings to. I work for the US Forest Service and I don't know if some program was loaded that prohibits any changes from being made. Any help would be most appreciated.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware.

I can't change the screen resolution no matter what i do

Suddenly i found the screen resolution unsatisfactory so i tried to change it and there were two displays to choose between in display option. as the pictures shows the first display has only two resolution options and the second has many but no matter what i choose and click on apply/ok it doesn't change unless i click on 'Extend my Windows' and it doesn't really change it only changes the resolution option

1) Is it a video clip? Something you recognize? To be clear, it's displaying at a point in your exported movie but doesn't appear at all in the sequence?
2) What are your sequence settings? Right-click your sequence and choose "Item Properties" to verify.

I also tried to install netbeans and Java Me, and got stuck on the same problem as Vinnie: the menu item `Device Selector` is grayed besides most other items in the same menu.
The grayed menu items in menu Netbeans/Tools/Java ME are:
          WMA Console,
          Java ME SDK Update Center,
          Custom Device Skin Creator
          Active Device Manager
The only one that is not grayed is: 'Device Database Search'.
I made sure the device_manager is running. You asked Vinnie to run emulator.exe from the commandline. I did and it outputs the help instructions.
I like to provide you with the log files, but how to do that? They are quite big! Dou you want me to paste the contens of the files in here?

I have a Kodak printer and am running Mavericks but I don't think it started when I upgraded.

Just fixed this on my machine, the easiest way to remove this pop-up assuming you are no longer needing that software to print is the following:
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Application Support"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak
Open System Preferences
Go to "Security & Privacy"
Click the lock and enter your admin password
Click the Firewall Tab
Go to "Firewall Options..."
Find KodakAiO
Right-click KodakAiOBonjourAgent or equivalent (I forget the exact name)
Click "Show in Finder"
Go Back to a folder and delete the Kodak Folder there.
Remove Kodak from Firewall Options by selecting it and clicking the " - " button the base of the list.
or
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Printers"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak
I'm going off memory, so If I forgot something let me know.
