Active repository connections count.

Hello Guys,
I am using SAP  MDM 7.1.
Can anybody let me know how we can count the number of active connections on any particular repository at any given time.
Is there any way to count it apart from doing it manually from Admin -> Connections.
Best Regards,
Syed.

Hi,
As such in MDM No standard functional available but you can acheive as follow
1. using MDM Java API
2. Right clicking on repository and select unload repository immediate will open popup window
with warning message number user logged and to unload repository

  • JDBC Active Connection count issue- Current row null issue

    In our weblogic conse 10.3.5, the max connection capacity is set to 25, however when we start using the application , over a small period of time the current active connection count increases more than 25 like 30,55, 85 etc .. How is this possible? . Once the number of active connection count goes above the max connection capacity, our application behaves weirdly, some time for some users the current row return null and as a result we get Null pointer exception. we are using Jdev 11.1.2.1 and the application was migrated from 10g. The AM configuration is the default one as specified in most docs or when we create a new application module. Could you guys help us out.

    How many concurrent users do you have? Are you opening database connections manually in the application code? If so, are you closing these connections when done?

  • Displaying Host details for active Proxy Connections

    It is possible via JMX to display the number of active connections associated with Proxy services.
    For problem resolution it would be very useful to determine the hosts that are connected. I already have a mechanism of capturing new connection requests (for logical connection throttling) so I can log the host details when a new connection is used - but my preference would be to view this in realtime e.g. via JMX. (Similar in concept to viewing all JMS clients that are connected to a JMS server).
    Q1. Is there a way the above can be achieved and/or is there any intention to move this feature in to the core product?
    Q2. If my client VM that has an open connection dies unexpectedly how quickly will the Proxy service recycle the connection and decrement the active connection count?
    Thanks,
    Simon

    Q1: It is our policy to not comment on contents/dates of future releases in the forum. However, Oracle is always looking to improve the usability and manageability of Coherence. To help me advocate this feature, could you elaborate on the information being collected, the usage models and the value proposition.
    To help with the short term issue, The information you currently logging can be exposed through JMX by creating a custom MBean. The custom MBean is a combination of an Interface and an Implementation.
    To create a custom MBean "ConnectionCounter":
    Define the interface:
    Interface ConnectionCounterMBean
    public int getConnectionCount();
    public class ConnectionCounter
    implements ConnectionCounterMBean
    public int getConnectionCount()
    // return the connection count.
    Register the custom MBean:
    http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH33UG/Manage+Custom+MBeans+within+the+Coherence+Cluster
    Q2: A Coherence*Extend service has several mechanisms for detecting dropped connections. Some mechanisms are inherent to the underlying protocol (i.e. a javax.jms.ExceptionListener in Extend-JMS and TCP/IP in Extend-TCP), whereas others are implemented by the service itself. The latter mechanisms are configured via the <outgoing-message-handler> configuration element.
    The primary configurable mechanism used by a Coherence*Extend client service to detect dropped connections is a request timeout. When the service sends a request to the remote cluster and does not receive a response within the request timeout interval (see <request-timeout>), the service assumes that the connection has been dropped. The Coherence*Extend client and clustered services can also be configured to send a periodic heartbeat over the connection (see <heartbeat-interval> and <heartbeat-timeout>). If the service does not receive a response within the configured heartbeat timeout interval, the service assumes that the connection has been dropped.

  • FWSM: differing connection count with congestion

    Hello,
    I would like to ask if this is a known issue and if there is a remedy:
    When issuing a "sh local-host <ip-address>" I often get an increasing count of connections for this address, whereas a "sh conn local <ip-address>" and a snmp query with .1.3.6.1.2.1.123.1.6.1.9 both show a different (and much lower) count.
    Unfortunately, the pretended count of active connections "sh local-host <ip-address>" seems to cause trouble so that new connections are declined and I have to "clear local-host <ip-address>".
    So my questions are:
    1. Why is there a different count with "sh local-host <ip-address>" and "sh conn local <ip-address>" (or SNMP query)?
    2. How may I prevent this connection congestion?
    (Yes, we have static connection limits, but this is curing the sympton not the root of wrong accumulated connections.)
    Thank you very much in advance for any clue!
    Kind regards,
    Bernhard

    Hi,
    I would like to add another question:
    From Mike's answer I understand that the counter may differ if there is a heavy load on the NPs.
    What would be of interest is why the counter from sh local-conn doesn't come "back to reality" after a while and lowers the connection count according to the "real" connections shown by sh conn-local?
    It's keeping summing up and causes trouble. It lowers its count only by a clear local-host command. This seems buggy to me.
    Does someone know a procedure to handle this? Manually issuing clear local-host commands isn't really funny.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Runtime repository connects on remote system fails in connection

    Hi,
    I've created runtime repository and access users and target schema on linux server through owb server install. Sqlplus onnections from my window2k PC work OK for all 3 users.
    I created a second runtime repository connection from my owb designer on windows2k system. When I bring up deployment manager and try to connect to the remote target through this connection, it fails with RTC-5260:failed to connect to runtime platform...,and ORA_01017:invalid username/password. Also, I notices a java thread on the remote linux server was created each time I tried the connection .
    I have the connection alias under both OWB and OracleDB tnsnames. What's the problem?

  • Why do the number of active JMS connections increase?

    <strong>Problem</strong>
    - Number of active JMS connections and current JMS messages increases until the Weblogic instances crash with an OutOfMemory exception
    <strong>Setup</strong>
    - Weblogic v9.2.3, Cluster with 4 Nodes
    - A JMS Message is sent from a MDB in Weblogic to a distributed queue which has a member on each of the 4 Weblogic nodes. The session is created as follows session = connection.createSession(false,Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE), the message delivery mode is set programmatically to persistent and the delivery mode override of the queue setup is set to persistent too
    - Standalone JMS client processes: each one is attached to <strong>all</strong> 4 nodes. Each one uses a unique JMS message selector so that we have more than one queue consumer for one queue but every message is exactly dedicated to one queue consumer. We us weblogic.jar for the clients.
    - Use of Weblogic auto reconnect feature. JMS client code:
    Connection connection = this.connectionFactory.createQueueConnection();
    final WLConnection wlconnection = (WLConnection)connection;
    wlconnection.setReconnectPolicy(JMSConstants.RECONNECT_POLICY_ALL);
    wlconnection.setTotalReconnectPeriodMillis(-1);
    wlconnection.setReconnectBlockingMillis(-1);
    <strong>Remarks and Questions</strong>
    - There are no pending JMS messages which is good
    - In our setup, each JMS client is connected to all 4 nodes as the messages are not distributed to all nodes: if a message is put to Queue A but the client is only connected to Queue B, the message is NOT transfered from Queue A to Queue B. We set the parameter "Forward Delay" to 5 seconds with no effects. Is this the normal behavior?
    - Not all JMS clients are visible in the Weblogic console under JMS Services -&gt; JMS Servers -&gt; [Server] -&gt; Monitoring -&gt; Active Connections. Which one are visible? Which one are not visible? There are also clients where the number of connections is not zero but stays constant; we know that as several independent clients on different hosts are started and the IP adress is visible in the Weblogic console. Why....?
    - What reasons can lead to increasing connections? Is this due to client or server problems? Do we have to acknowledge the message in the onMessage(Message) method of the client JMS consumer? So far as I know, we don't have to.
    - Are the increasing number of current messages due to the increasing number of JMS connections?
    - May the RECONNECT_POLICY_ALL policy produce this problem?
    Any hint is appreciated.

    To answer the question about the forwarding of messages from one queue to another myself: As mentioned at http://forums.bea.com/thread.jspa?threadID=400000611, the forwarding for queues does only work if all queue consumers are attached to the same queue. This means that our setup is OK.
    But the main question is still unanswered: why do the number of active JMS connections increase? I forgot to mention that
    - all messages arrive at the clients and that no exceptions are visible in the log
    - if you kill the client, the connections are still visible in the Weblogic console!?
    Please help as this problem is very urgent.

    You need to supply the "Key Store Location", "Key Store Password", "Private Key Alias" and "Private Key Password' to use socketssl.
    Also please make sure that the content server has enabled "Use SSL". You can configure it using the enterprise manager.

  • ADF 11.1.1.2 Application Timeout with Active DB Connection

    Hi all,
    just a query really; are we able to set a timeout for an ADF application that has an application module and an active database connection for an extended period of time, such as 10 hours?
    We have previously changed the value in the applications web.xml file to the correct value (600) but when we come to test the app after waiting about 5-6 hours, the application whirls away and throws an error:
    JBO-30019: An unavailable cookie state is detected while attempting to use a cookie from the application SJFG..., session 109imtacg62_...
    Is there another setting we have to apply to Weblogic to increase the cookie state timeout?

    Hi Mehabub:
    I had the same problem and solved it by checking the Secure Admin Enabled check box and writing the full computer name (domain included) in the Configuration tab of the Server Connection Properties dialog in JDeveloper.
    Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • Disconnect all active Essbase connections using VBA code in Excel

    Hi All,
    I am currently using the below code to disconnect the active essbase connection. It works fine but it shows me a windows with the list of active essbase connections and I have to select each essbase connection and click disconnect. I want a vba code which will disconnect / kill all active connections of Essbase at one go. for e.g. I have 10 worksheets connected to different databases in Essbase. I want a code which will disconnect all 10 sheets at one go. Please expedite. Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi,
    You could use EssVDisconnect which takes a sheet name and does not open the disconnect login box.
    Declare Function EssVDisconnect Lib "ESSEXCLN.XLL" (ByVal sheetName As Variant) As Long
    Sub DisConn()
    X=EssVDisconnect("Sheet1")

  • DCA-CONNECTION_LOOKUP_FAILED: Failure looking up the repository connection

    Using Jdev 10.1.3.2, we created a Data Control on Oracle Content DB 10.2 and used it to add content of a folder as table to a jspx page. The page run correctly from webcenter preconfigured OC4J. However, we encounter the following DCA error message when running the deployed page if we deployed it on AS 10.1.3.1.
    DCA-CONNECTION_LOOKUP_FAILED: Failure looking up the repository connection
    Also, we did add some JCR related libraries to our deploy profile to get through some of initial 'class not found' errors before we reach this error.
    What could be possbile problems?
    Also, we entered the hardcoded user name and password when created Data Control through S2S. Is there another way to create Data Control with settable user name and password? Or should we just use Content DB API through a portle directly?
    thanks

    We also have this problem but using the content repository data control against the filesystem. In JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 works, but when we deploy to Webcenter 10.1.3.2 we get this message: DCA-CONNECTION_LOOKUP_FAILED

    I have a server whcih logs RMI connections to a file. For example, I can find these kind of log-lines in the file:
    2009-10-19 07:43:33,809 INFO  [RMI TCP Connection(2559)-109.84.36.165] de.test.foo..FooService This is the log messageI wonder what the number in brackets means: (2559)
    Does it represent the number of currently open connections (this would be very bad in my case), or is it just a simple counter to distinguish between different RMI connections in the log file?
    Thanks a lot for your help!

    Hello,
    thanks for your answer, good to hear that it is just a counter. I was not seriously thinking that it was a connection count - but you know, there are moments when I just have to ask to be sure ;)
