Active SQL Window Truncates SQL
My active SQL window is truncating the statement being returned from the sql area. Its also not formatted, is there any way to control this?
Thanks in advance...
No, but you can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange though, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.
And if you're up to it, you can make your own report, using other views to query the full SQL statements.
Regards,
K.

Hi Experts,
I am trying to install sap IDES ECC 6 EhP 7 from scratch. Everything was doing well but I got an error on starting instance. SAPMMC Console Process disp+work.EXE do not change from status: "Server in State STARTING" (Yellow). I have been searching and most of the problem is related to Kernel. I upgraded Kernel to the latest version: SAPEXEDB_101-20012221.SAR and SAPEXE_101-20012222.SAR. I also check my host file and set my IP address with my computer name. I check logs dev_disp and dev_w0 but I am not able to see the error. I am installing IDES into Virtual Machine, Windows 7, SQL Server 2012, 8 Gb memory.
Best Regards.
David C.

Toad SQL Window 'read-only' problem
Hello,
I'm having a Toad problem regarding the SQL Window. It does not let me delete the content of a SQL Window (nor with backspace or delete ). The only way to delete a word or a character is to select it and retype it. I must say that this is only happening in Toad and NOT in other editors, so it must be a Toad option (that I'm not aware of). This didn't use to happen on the past, so someone somehow made this, so-to-say, 'read only' option active.
Please advice how to make this option inactive so that the SQL window would work normally.
Regards!Version 7.5.2.0

Bookmarks no longer working in pl/sql window ( still works in worksheet window )
In the pl/sql window I have line number enabled and in the past I could right clink in the number column and toggle either break point or bookmark. In 4.0 I get the option and works fine for setting the bookmark in the worksheet but in the pl/sql window I only get the option to set break point.
Hi,
We are aware of this issue and a bug has been logged on this. Thanks for your feedback.

Java for PI 7.1 EHP1 in Windows and SQL Server 2008
Hi Gurus
I try to install PI 7.1 EHP1 in Windows and SQL Server 2008. The questions is :
What version of java is the correct for this installation???
And where i can download it??
Thanks and advance!!!Hi Aaron,
The version for PI 7.1 is 1.5, instead of the 1.4.2 of 7.0/3.0.
Anyway, for VM settings, you should refer to SAP JVM, which
is used for the PI 7.11.
Hope it helps!

Thai characters not supported in SQL window
Hi,
The version of my PL/SQL Developer is 7.0.1.1066.
We have created a database with UTF-8 format to support multi languages.
When we used Chinese language we are able to query..
TABLE 1
Name RollNo Class
chinese name 12 10
When we put the query table using the chinese name,we are able to get the chinese name on the SQL window as well as command window...
we used NVARCHAR2 as the storage for the chinese name as well as thai name
TABLE 2
Name RollNo Class
Thai name 1 11
If we try to put the thai name on the SQL window, the format will not come...
Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to rectify it?
I am not able to perform the query condition
select * from table2 where name=Thai Name
ORA-01403 :DATA NOT FOUND will be thrown since its not able to take the Thai name...
If we put chinese name then its coming correctly...Hi ,
It should not be . Did you create the data source for that server ? Test the connection . In design view add the data source which will be reference to share data source .I am not sure you were able to create data set perfectly ..
Let me know the specific error . I will help you out.
Thanks -
View Link sql window is non editable
Hi All,
I am creating view link between two views using wizard, but when I reach view link sql window it is blank and non editable. any ideas on this?
Thanks in advance.
HiteshHitesh,
This a very generic case and happens when the source VO join attribute and destination VO join attribute are not of same type, i.e. data type and data length. Make sure that is happening in your case, this will solve your problem.

Using the equivalent of a BREAK ON command in SQL Developer SQL window
Folks.
In SQL*PLUS "BREAK ON Col1 ON Col2;", I can generate a report similar to the following:
Col1Value1 Col2Value1 Col3Value1
Col3Value2
Col3Value3
Col2Value2 Col3Value1
Col3Value2
Col3Value3
Col1Value2 Col2Value1 Col3Value1
Col3Value2
Col3Value3
Col2Value2 Col3Value1
Col3Value2
Col3Value3
etc.
I want to be able to do the same thing in my SQL Developer SQL window so that I can export the results to a spreadsheet file.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
I've tried using the SQL*PLUS BREAK command in my SQL Developer window but it appears to be ignored. My resultset looks something like
Col1Value1 Col2Value1 Col3Value1
Col1Value1 Col2Value1 Col3Value2
Col1Value1 Col2Value1 Col3Value3
Col1Value1 Col2Value2 Col3Value1
Col1Value1 Col2Value2 Col3Value2
Col1Value1 Col2Value2 Col3Value3
Col1Value2 Col2Value1 Col3Value1
Col1Value2 Col2Value1 Col3Value2
Col1Value2 Col2Value1 Col3Value3
Col1Value2 Col2Value2 Col3Value1
Col1Value2 Col2Value2 Col3Value2
Col1Value2 Col2Value2 Col3Value3
.OK thanks.
I did get around this by using SQL*PLUS to generate an output file with a separation character between the columns and spooling the SQL*PLUS output to a text file.
I then open the text file with Excel and specify the same character as a column separator. Seems to load properly into Excel. -
Deleting old data won't reduce Windows Azure SQL Database usage
My Windows Azure SQL Database usage keeps increasing. Deleting old data didn't help much. I was wondering how to figure out the distribution of the usage. All tables in my DB should not occupy more than 5GB and now it is most 12GB. Please help!
http://yanflex.comHello,
The database fee is amortized over the month and charged daily. The daily fee depends on the peak size that each database reached that day and the maximum number of databases you use. So, if the peak size of database is 12 GB and then you delete data
to reduce the size, it still charge based on 12GB this day.
You can use the following statement to get the database size:
SELECT SUM(reserved_page_count)*8.0/1024 as DBsizeinMB
FROM sys.dm_db_partition_stats;

Missing "Windows Service - SQL Server Analysis Services"
Hi
In my SharePoint 2013 Central Administration (this is a Project Server 2013 deployment), I got an alert for this error:
PowerPivot: MidTier process account should have 'Full Read' permission on all associated SPWebApplications.
After reading
this thread, I assumed I have the 2 accounts configured the wrong way, so I check
this article to see how to change the accounts, but on the section
"Change the account under which each service runs" it says to select
"Windows Service - SQL Server Analysis Services", which I can't find like as you can see in the screenshot below. How can I solve this? I'm new to this all, so if you could simplify the explanation I would be thankful, if not, I'll
just work on it anyway. :) Thanks!Hi ,
In the process of configuring PowerPivot for SharePoint 2010, automatically select the Analysis Services for SharePoint Integration feature. After configuring PowerPivot for SharePoint 2010, we can see
SQL Server Analysis Services and SQL Server PowerPivot System Service are started on manage services on server. So you can verify whether analysis service is installed for SharePoint on manage
services on server.
More information, please refer to the links:
http://sharepointgeorge.com/2012/installing-sql-server-powerpivot-sharepointstep-step-guide/
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/855bd055-5ad3-493f-9c5b-1f5297b2e6e2(v=sql.110)
As Trevor said, for this issue, you can ignore it. Anyway, you can also check the link:
http://whitepages.unlimitedviz.com/2012/06/the-health-analyzer-and-powerpivot-for-sharepoint/
I hope this helps.
Thanks,

Upgrade windows 2000 t o windows 2005 and sql 2000 to sql 2005
Dear People,
i have not actually done any upgradestill now, i have task where i need to upgrade existing sap system. The sap has already been upgraded, now my task is to upgrade operating system and database
requirement:
windows 2000 to windows 2003
sql 2000 to sql 2005
the above should be done by the procedure recommended by sap only, so im wondering where i can find the information and tools for uprading both O/S and DB.
Help
RajI personally would not do a Windows upgrade, Windows can be very picky when it comes to 3rd party SCSI/FC drives you may experience bluescreens during the update after the second boot etc.
I would backup the system and install the operating system from scratch and do a system copy instead.
For your database upgrade, there's a guide at
http://service.sap.com/instguides

Is the PL/SQL you want to debug in the same schema as you are connecting? Because you mentioned schema names, I wonder if there may be a bug with trying to debug PL/SQL in a schema other than the one you are connected to. If so, can you try creating connection as the owner of the PL/SQL and see if that works?
Thanks!
