1) When User compose message from outlook ...How it reaches to Active Sync device or vise versa ?

When we compose message from Outlook and send it. This message will be pick up from outbox from outlook and submitted to transport server. From here it will be routed to the ultimate destination (internal or external)

When the message has been routed to the ultimate destination. ActiveSync will synchronize the information between Exchange Server and Outlook client. When we use Active Sync device, it will down these information from Exchange Server and vice versa.

    I have 32GB Playbook with latest OS upgrade. My Official email using Active Sync was working fine till Morning but stopped working after that.
    I tried to reset with "Security Wipe" but it didnt helped. The error message i am getting is:
    "The account settings are not correct".
    But same setting is working on my IPAD and ANDRIOD phone. 
    Please let me know if anyone faced same problem and how did it solved.

  • Cannot Set Exchange Active Sync Email Account ot Default

    OK, I am having a problem setting the Default Email Account as Exchange Active Sync. I am seeing this in iPhone and IPad both running 6.1.2. The Active Sync Mail account is installed on both devices and works fine. The problem is I am unable for some reason to change the Default Email Account from iCloud to the Exchange Active Sync Account installed. When I select the option to change Default Email Account, iCloud is there and checked however the Active Sync Account does not even show up as a selectable option here. Please help! Thanks

    Im having the same issue on a couple of devices. I am unable to select my exchange mail on my iphone 5 on ios 6.1.2 but on a colleague of mines iphone 4 we are able to select it. he is also on 6.1.2. on my iphone 5 it also not shows up as an option.
    Would like to hear a solution for this.

  • Zenprise software and exchange active sync is no longer working with my work email

    Has anyone resolved this issue yet?  I use Zenprise to allow my email to communicate with my work server.  The account and set up is correctly and I reenrolled to ping the server. I discussed this with my company's support center.  However, my company no longer see's my phone trying to communicate with the server. I also use active sync to sync up the email.  Both are not working and did work fine before the ICS upgrade.  I did everything verizon told me to do.  Such as clear out cache, etc. 
    If my phone can not be fixed, I should receive a free upgrade to apple (since android is not working).  I should not have to pay for a new phone.  Verizon, please fix the software or send me a new apple phone.

    Hello all - I have good and bad news.   The good news is after I deleted both my unique Office365-based exchange accounts and then re-added one, I was asked to allow some policy that allows my company to wipe the device, etc., etc.   That allowed the first one to work, and the second one set up without issue too.   I'm most pleased to have my device working, but my 'fix' isn't too revolutionary so probably not very helpful to you.   I did try the Touchdown app for a bit the other day, but was disappointed that it could only do one account at a time and didn't have the comprehensive cross-account calendar, from what I could tell.  Also, my apologies for possibly polluting the thread but I do not use Zenprise; my phone (although company-issued) is a base Android.  Good luck with your issues and let's hope any other OS upgrade is far, far into the future.

    I am new to environment. I am trying to use email activity in Process flows. I have given the parameters that have to be given like "to-address" etc. Validation, Deployment and start are getting succeeded. But I am unable get a mail. Can anybody suggest me How to use this. And also How can I find the SMTP server in my local machine. Else suggest me any links pls.

    First of all you want to configure ACL and then do the following steps.
    In email properties mention the details are as follows:
    PORT = 25
    SMTP SERVER = (Get this details from your ITIS Team of Email Server).

    Did you set what OWB guide says:
    To execute a process flow with an email activity, you may need to access different host machines and ports. New security measures implemented in Oracle Database 11g Release 1 restrict access to hosts and ports. You must explicitly grant access to hosts and ports that the email activity accesses using the DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN package.
    For example, the user OWBSYS needs to send an email through the mail server mail.example.com using port 25. The DBA must perform the following steps:
    1. Create an Access Control List (ACL) for the user OWBSYS using the following command:
    EXECUTE DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.CREATE_ACL
    (’acl_for_owb_cc.xml’,’ACL for Control Center’,’OWBSYS’,’CONNECT’);
    The ACL has no access control effect unless it is assigned to network target.
    2. Assign the Access Control List (ACL) to a network host, and optionally specify a TCP port range. Use the following command:
    EXECUTE DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.ASSIGN_ACL (’acl_for_owb_cc.xml’,’mail.example.com’,25)
    3. Commit the changes made using the COMMIT command.

  • Connect Exchange email without active sync just as I do on Mac mail on Mac book.  Using OWA site.

    I am trying to connect my exchange email to my iPhone without using active sync. I am able to connect it to the Mac mail program on my MacBook pro with out ay issues. Can this be done on the iPhone?  Please instruct.

    I have a similar issue, just purchased Iphone4, can't get my enterprise emails because i get the typical "Unable to verify" message. My It guys (which are totally unfamiliar with Iphone because we are a blackberry-organisation ) tried to create an acoount on my iphone with no succes, afterwards they said that our email application is not compatible with iphone and that "we will upgrade it but don't know when".
    After googeling (without understanding much ) i found that:
    Active Sync is needed for Iphone to get emails, Active Sync works only with Microsoft Exchange SP2.
    We have Microsoft Exchange 2003 RTM (6.5.6944.3) so no SP1, no SP2.
    Is this the issue why we can't get it work?  If yes, is there any other way to get my emails without this ActiveSync?
    (we have OWA in case this is usefull).

  • E6 & Exchange Active Sync (Gmail). Emails received...

    Hello I have the E6 with Belle Refresh and I am having problems with exchange mailbox (Gmail).
    I have configured it properly and all my emails and contacts and calendar items are syncing properly.
    Actually it's the second Nokia E6 that I have and I am very familiar with it.
    But the new emails are not really arriving in time. It can take up to 15 minutes to arrive althouh it is set to always on in daytime. I am attaching the exchange log so you can figure out

    OK, since nobody is actually bothering to help out I will try and clarify more things after extensive testing.
    I flashed again the phone with fresh Belle Refresh and tried again. Same problem, for beginning exchange active sync works fine with Gmail but after some time or even after a day it still goes back to receiving mails after fifteen minutes.
    I thought it might be some compatibility problems with Gmail so this time I tried native exchange server (office 365 exchange online). Same scenario here, working fine at the beginning but as time goes by I mails received after fifteen minutes.
    I noticed also that the internet connection symbol is not active in the screen but it gets active every fifteen minutes and then goes off again by itself.
    I studied the admin_log.txt file to see what is going on and I think I have found the problem

    (at this time I was in an office building with poor mobile network coverage)
    So for some reason when the phone cannot connect to the server it simulates an always on mode which means it will check the server every 15 minutes.
    So when I power on the phone everything works fine, when for some reason there is no connection to the provider (for example I go into an elevator or work in the basement and get into the subway) the mail for exchange client in the E6 thinks there is generally problem with the connection or the server and sets simulation to check every 15 minutes.
    Ok with this, but when I come out back to an area with mobile network connection the exchange client on E6 does NOT resume the proper always on connection and just keeps checking for mails every 15 minutes until i reboot the phone.
    I hope this can clarify the situation and I trully hope someone can come out and help a bit.

    As far as I can tell, The Rezound does not support HTML emails on an Active-Sync account. If this, is not true what are the settings? If it is true, will there be an update to allow this?

    Hi I am currently using a Samsung Note 2 and i've added my Company email account successfully using Microsoft Active Sync options in Email settings.
    however when i go to look at emails, the inbox just stays on "loading..." indefinitely and does nothing.
    Does anyone have any ideas why my phone will not pull emails?

    This is normal behavior in exchange because of autodiscover feature and it is making up the things easier during new account configuration on mobile devices.
    After giving up the user name and password ,autodiscover is the feature which will bring up the remaining settings that you mentioned .
    We will discuss in terms of security view .
    1.User's password would be confidential .
    However in worst cases someone might know about anyone's password and email address then on such case there would be chance to configure that particular account in any of the mobile devices.
    We can control the above scenario too.
    In exchange Active sync organisation settings we have an option to set the DefaultAccessLevel to quarantine for the devices.So that administrator can decide to allow or block the active sync device which is trying to connect to exchange.

    Note : If your existing exchange organisation is having active sync devices configured in use then before changing the "Defaultaccesslevel" to quarantine we need to make sure existing active sync device ID'S are added to the corresponding mailboxes

  • N8: No active sync (PUSH) with my email accounts !...

    Hello all,
    I love my new N8 but I'm having a problem with my emails and I'm getting really frustrated about it. I saw a couple of topics about similar issues but none of them solves my problem.
    I setup my hotmail email account, everything works fine but there's no active sync between the phone and hotmail. If I set synchronisation to "soonest" (which I can only assume is active sync or PUSH), nothing happens. It only syncs when I turn the device on. If I set it up to 15mn, it works ok but I'd expect a phone like the N8 to support active sync.
    Then I thought it was maybe a compatibility problem with hotmail, so I tried it with my Ovi email but it has the same problem. No push email. I have to sync manually or set it up for syncing every 15mn.
    Reading topics with similar issues on the forum, I tried then to setup my hotmail account as a MfE account, but that was a epic failure.
    I try then to setup my account without accepting the terms of conditions, but then I can only sync every 5mn or manually, and emails I've read on my phone still show as unread on internet.
    I've tried every possible settings now and I'm getting quite frustrated. What am I doing wrong? Should it not work straight away without having to fiddle with the settings?
    I believe other people have the same problem as I've read topics about it but for GMAIL. Nothing on Hotmail though.
    I know it isn't a massive issue but I expect my brand new Nokia N8 to sync my emails as they arrive. Even my old BlackBerry Curve worked better for that, even though the BBs are not user friendly.

    I'm on Orange UK.
    I previously used the downloadable "Nokia Messaging" client when I had a N97mini until the trial expired.  After the trial expired the "Nokia Messaging" service did not work at all (soonest or polling).
    I think the N8 is a bit different.  The underlying tech is obviously "Nokia Messaging"  and the polling setting does work.  Maybe they are deliberately blocking "soonest" from working unless people sign up to extra email plans.  It's the complete lack of information that annoys me. 
    If they said "soonest" requires a plan, then fine but you get no info at all, it just lets you select it then refuses to work.
    Of course it may be that there is no conspiracy, just a broken email service with no end user support.

  • More email issues - OS 10.1.0.273 and Active Sync

    I can't believe I am back on this forum with another email issue (I am also a victim of the email wipe issue.  I updated my Q10 OS to .273 and now my active sync account won't connect.  All other emails work fine.  According to Rogers, this is a "known problem" and can be solved by using SSL/port 443 however my company uses Exchange2003 which doesn't have access through port 443.  
    Seeing the lengthty list of known bugs/issues on these forums, I assume a solution from Blackberry on this "known problem" is months away at best.  The easy solution would be to reverse my OS update and switch back to the prior version which worked but Rogers claims this is impossible on BB10.
    Before I make the dreaded decision to give my Q10 back and get an iphone or droid, can someone help with my OS rollback.  Any BB techs reading this who can make the old OS available on their website?
    As a side note, its mind boggling to me that BB10 has all these issues with active sync.  They made a strategic decison to force non-enterprise small businesses off of BES servers into active sync - you would think they would have made sure it worked first!!! (beyond these bugs, there are basic functionality issues like the oft quoted issue of not syncing deleted folders with exchange2003 which most small businesses still use).  Either they have to fix these issues fast or make some sort of free BES10 express available or they are going to lose their small business customer base.  It becomes clearer everyday that BB10 just doesnt work with Exchange2003 active sync.

    To the Developers,
    its seems that things have gotten worse, and if you really needed someone to test your update, you could have called me...
    I can't send subsequent text messages to contacts without waiting 3 minutes for the first to send.

    but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain

    the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
    Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
    access mail from Outlook running normally
    Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
    The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
    The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
    ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
    user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.

    but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
    only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
    any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?

    I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem
    for users who moved from Exch 2007 to Exch 2013. @Android, iPhone, and Blackberry the error message "cannot connect to the server"

  • "This message has not been downloaded from the server" - Multiple devices all using Exchange Active Sync

    We are having this issue across multiple IOS devices ranging from IOS version 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2. Many (not all) emails sent to the devices are unreadable and simply state: "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Microsoft believes this to be some sort of bug with the IOS devices in the way they are handling the SSL encryption.
    Facts:
    - Devices are connected to an Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 6 via Active Sync (No POP3, IMAP or SMTP)
    - issue occurs on multiple IOS devices within the organization ranging from IOS 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2
    - Issue occurs on both external cellular data and internal wireless networks
    - Not all emails sent to the devices result in the error, but issue does tend to occur more frequently from certain senders/domains
    - Using the same user account on an android phone does not result in an issue (even when receiving the exactly same email that has been sent to the IOS devices)
    - Closing mail app / rebooting device does not resolve the issue
    - Doesn't appear to matter what the mesage format is (can be html, plaintext, etc)
    - Spent nearly 7 hours with Microsoft going through the Exchange server configuration and looking for possible causes. None have been found and all testing indicates things are setup correctly.
    - This is not a case of Issue 2.3 listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324 (verified by Microsoft Support)
    - If we disable SSL on the IOS device and connect via plain HTTP the messages are displayed correctly!
    - If we use a different SSL certificate, the issue still occurs - so not a problem with the original cert.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on what would cause this? Does the ISO devices have any sort of log that would indicate why it's reporting this error? The current error is pretty unhelpful.

    GFI Have a solution for this problem. It is to do with iOS implementation of reading the message headers when SPF compliance modifications are made by GFI.
