Active tab appears inactive after switching to Safari

Hi,
I've had this problem since I updated to Leopard.
When I switch to Safari, e.g. with command+tab or change space, the active tab of Safari seem inactive while the rest of the application seems active (the tab has a lighter gray).

This is not just ugly, I have to click on another application then switch back to get rid of it, and I can't use shortcuts correctly – if I press command+w Safari asks me if I want to close all open tags, and I can't use spacebar to scroll forward in sites.
I haven't found anything about this error, I'm getting desperate
ps. removing the plist file didn't work

Any active window becomes inactive after 10+ seconds. This doesn't just affect the Finder. It makes it very difficult to type an email or post to this forum.
No matter what window I select with the mouse, it will become deselected in a few seconds. I've ruled out the mouse and the keyboard. I don't know of any settings that would cause this. Can anyone offer a solution short of reinstalling the OS. I just finished installing my apps from receiving this computer at work on Friday.

I just reinstalled the OS, as Archive Install with Preserve User settings checked, without running System Update to 10.5.1. All is well now. Though I haven't run all of the installed apps since reinstalling. Some of my apps are not Universal Binary (ex. QuarkXPress 6, MS Office 2004, Adobe ImageReady CS2), though that shouldn't be a problem. Right now I will be ignoring the 10.5.1 update.

How to Drag and Drop from Active tab to Inactive Tab in Elements 13?

In previous versions of Elements, I was able to drag a layer from and active tab up to an inactive tab, which then made the inactive tab active, with the new layer. In Elements 13, that doesn't work, and I have to open the Photo Bin, and drag it down there . I am just wondering if I need to adjust a setting, or if this feature no longer exists in Elements 13?

Yes. I have Windows 8.1. Using the Move Tool, I drag the desired object to the other file. Pre Elements 13, it easily worked up to the inactive tab, and switched it to active. Now I have to drag it to the Photo Bin. It still works, just no as simply since I have to open the Photo Bin. Not a big problem, just annoying since my habits still want me to drag up to the inactive tab, not down to the Photo Bin. Resetting the preferences didn't change anything.

Height of Tabs Bar reduced after switching user

I'm using Firefox 29.0.1 on Windows 8.1. I have 2 user accounts on my computer. Both accounts are mine and I sometimes switch between them. However, when I switch between accounts and return to the original one the height of the Tabs Bar is reduced.

For that matter, I've noticed I don't even have to log in to another account. All I have to do to reproduce this bug is do as if I'm switching to another user but instead sign back in to the same user account.
How do I report a bug? Is this the correct venue for reporting bugs?

As far as I know, this is a minor kink in Firefox's new Australis interface. I'm not sure if the bug has been filed yet; Mozilla's bug-files can be found [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ here].
For now, you can try to fix Firefox temporarily by clicking "Restore Down" (the button to the left of the orange Windows "Exit" button) and then clicking it again. I'm sorry that it's not a permanent fix; it's the best I can do. Stay tuned on this thread, though; other Firefox Support members might have better information.

Safari's Tabs Acting Strange After 10.6.4 Update

Hi guys,
After the 10.6.4 update Safari's tabs have been acting strangely. Say I have Apple.com open in one tab and I hit Apple-T to open a new tab. It then changes that tab (which Apple.com was loaded on) to the Top Sites, keeps the focus on this tab, then opens a blank tab right next to it. I effectively lose the page I was using and a blank one appears. Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons and click Reset. Relaunch Safari. If you still having problems...
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
And if you didn't repair disk permissions after you updated Safari, it's a good idea to do that.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Automatically running a vi after switching tabs

I am currently working with a multi-tabbed vi. After the Tab 3 vi is executed, the program automatically switches to Tab 4. I want this Tab 4 vi to automatically run at this point. I have tried the RunOnOpen tool but it doesn't seem to work for my application... perhaps I am not initializing it properly?
How can I get an individual tab to run automatically after a tab control event?

Here are images of my vi. I don't know how else to describe that when I have Tab 1 active, and click run, Tab 1 is the only part that executes. If I have Tab 2 active, and click run, Tab 2 is the only part that executes...
What I am trying to do, while preserving the tab structure, is to have Tab 1 active, press Run, Tab 1 executes (including setting Tab 2 as the new active tab), and running Tab 2 without the need to physically press the Run button.

Menu tabs disappear completely after login and appears if only i press on item node at hire level

I'm using a Menu Model to Create a Page Hierarchy in my adf application on Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
it is in three levels level 1 have 2 item nods (home - Help) displayed as buttons
                            level 2   contains 5 item nods about the managements displayed as tabs
                            level 3   is about reports displayed as list
the point I have apply security in the application using Adf security wizard and i assign roles and users and grants
all works fine but level 2 tabs disappear completely after login and appears if only i press on Home item node at run time
I create 2 users (admin) has all roles and can view all tabs in level 2 of my navigation and another user (emp) which can view one Tab page in level 2
Point 1 --the item nod are rendered according the #{securityContext.regionViewable['oracle.view.pageDefs.RentManagPageDef']}     (EL ) expression language
and other item nod render property are set as the same but in the page name definition
it works fine
_ Point 2 in my page template I set #{menuInfo.rendered} for renderd property of the command navigation item
it works fine
- point 3 I add a go link in my template to explicit perform log in log out from the app and redirect the user to the required page
Destination is

and its also works fine
the problem is in the level 2 navigation tabs which is diaper after explicit log in the app directs the user to the correct page successfully
But the tabs are not rendered till I press on home button on Level 1 navigation it appears and it appears correctly cording the logged in user validation
in another words i log in as user (admin) i get directed to the successful log in page in the link go but level 2 tabs are invisible or not rendered at all    I click on Home button in level1 navigation the tabs
become rendered or viewable and i navigate normally
I log out as admin the level 2 tabs becomes invisible again
then I log in as (emp) i get directed to the successful log in page and level 2 tabs are still invisible or not rendered
I click on Home button in level1 navigation the only one tab the user emp authorized to it gets rendered (appears)
and its semi correct behavior because this is what I want him to see only
my tries to find solution

on the menu node item   I found same behavior level 2 tabs gets hidden till i click on home link at run time

all tabs remains visible and i dont want that ain adition if user clicks on a tab of page he has no authority on it i recive server error

and it is using the same as i did from adf tutorials
I tried to make new navigation app on fast
maybe i made incorrect change in any stage of my original app
but I found same behavior
I tried to set disabled property instead of rendered property the tabs are always rendered   but I got server error when I click on a tab which a user does not authorized
So I doubt maybe problem in the El or the way I use to control rendering item node
or there additional step to stop all the tabs disappear after login
I hope please some one Help or tell me what i have to read about in the developer guide or interface developer guide or article on the web

One test to run is to print the outcome of the security evaluation (e.g. output text) to see what it returns.

Active tab in safari

hi all I'm trying to find out if there is an extension for safari to show me which tab is active if i open a lot of tabs some of them start playing audio and it's frustrating trying to find the pages with the active audio. if anyone knows how to solve this annoying problem it would be much appreciated thank you.

hi Carolyn thanks for replying but i didn't explain my problem properly what i meant was this I'm on an open page thus making it the active tab when i open a bunch of other tabs where one or more tabs starts playing audio. Safari is not set to go to each tab as it opens so I remain on my original page i want to find which of those tabs are playing the audio. Safari opens Tabs again, even after quitting them!

I'm having some annoying troubles with Safari for about 2 weeks now...
When I quit Safari, it should normally reload all my last opened pages (f.ex: google, facebook,apple and twitter), but instead it ALLWAYS reopens the same 2 tabs (some minecraft site + facebook). this is pretty annoying because it does not go away. I've allready tried everything... closing tabs with cmd-W before quitting safari, checking and unchecking the "reopen windows" setting (wich btw rechecks itself after I quit an reopen "system preferences").
anyone out there having the same problem?

Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now. If you skip this step, no one but you will be responsible for the consequences.
Quit Safari if it’s running.
Select /Applications/Safari in the Finder and open the Info window. There’s a checkbox in that window labeled “Open in 32-bit mode.” If that box is checked, uncheck it. Close the window.
Hold down the option key and select Go > Library from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the folder that opens (some may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.Safari
Caches/Metadata/Safari
Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
Try Safari again. If it still doesn’t work right, quit again and move the following file to the Desktop:
Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Then delete the following items (some may not exist):
Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
Cookies/Cookies.plist
Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. Select File > Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the old bookmarks file.

After the currently active tab is closed, can the previously acitve tab be automatically displayed?

After the currently active tab is closed, I don't want to see the tab on its right or on its left. I want to see the tab that was active before the closed one, whatever its position is on the tab strip.
Can that be achieved?

My trackball has 4 buttons and a scroll wheel. Each of the 4 buttons is programmable. The 4 buttons are normally pre-programmed for single-click, double-click, drag and right-click by simply pressing on them
Each of the 4 buttons may be programmed to also have other functions. For example, I programmed "control/single-click" to produce a middle click. I could also have used "shift/single-click" or "alt/single-click" to produce the middle-click. Or I could have similarly programmed double-click or drag or right-click. The Kensington Expert Mouse is quite versatile ... once you get the hang of programming it.
I have had it for about 4 years and I had never had the need to program one of them until you told me about using a middle-click.

After update - tab appeared, now disappeared

After the recent update two things happened.
1.) I got a caller ID to try out for a month. I disabled it, not interested.
2.) A neat tab appeared on the left edge of the screen which allowed me to drag (2) applications into the main window. This was cool. It has now disappeared from the phone.
How can I get the tab back?

The new Multi Window feature became available in the recent Android update for Samsung Galaxy S3. You can enable / disable it from the top menu. Drag your finger from the top of the screen and down, then drag your finger to the left in the top menu you get, until you find the “Multi Window” button. Pressing it will enable or disable the feature.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

After upgrade to v6, while surfing, Firefox opens active tab in new window few times in hour... why?

I am using laptop. When I click on some link or in some text field or when I start typing on gsmarena.com in search box... Firefox opens new window with the currently active TAB. This is very anoying and I thought that it will be OK but now it started to happen on PC also. It is not happening always with the same actions and is hardly reproduced.

Make sure that you do not drag a tab in the browser window. 
Firefox 3.5 versions and later have a feature called tear-off tabs. 
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window. 
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.
