Active version of BW Data Source Dev Appears inactive in Q

Hi All,
This is urgent..needs to move to prod today but I am stuck in D still!
Does anyone know why a particular BW data source which is active inn Dev might appear to be inactive in Q after the transport?
We tried manual replication, transporting replica and reapplying the transports, recollecting the data source in both r3 and BW
I also verified that I am collecting the active version in my transport

Hello Darshana,
Make sure the appropriate "Conversion of Source System names after transport" are maintained in target system QA and Prod.
RSA1 > Tools >...

Follow the above path...Go to Datawarehousing Workbench in QA tcode RSA1 and on the top you will see Tools > and follow from there...

Error While Activating BI Web service data source based on MDM XI.

Dear experts,
Need help with an error that i am getting for a BI data source based on XI MDM. An extra field was added in the data source as part of business requirement and it works fine in dev environment but when we transported the changes to Q environment it is always giving following error.
The web-service based communication structure in the data source in QA is not getting updated with the new field in the target system.
Any inputs or pointers would be appreciated.

Many thanks for your help. This solved the issue for our .NET code, however the leak is still present in the report designer. I was also wondering if you could help further: because of the limits on the java memory process is there a way to ensure that a separate java process is started for each report that is loaded in my report viewers collection? Essentially the desktop application that i have created uses a tab control to display each type report, so each tab goes through the following code when displaying a report and closing a tab:
Is there a way to ensure that a different Java process is kicked off each time that I display a different report? My current code in c# always uses the same Java process so the memory ramps up. The code to load the report and then dispose of the report through closing the tab (and now the Java process) looks like this:

External Data source not appearing in Data source type

Hello,
I use SQL Server 2012 BI Edition and use Data tools to create reports. I have a 3rd party Data source. While creating a new shared data source, I cannot get it to appear under the Data Source Type. Only the current built in types are available. For test
purposes, I tried editing the RSReportServer.config and added a duplicate entry and it was shown in the dropdown. What should I do?
When this 3rd party data source is installed, under Tools --> Connect to Database, I am able to get that datatype and connect to my data source. I tried uninstalling and this option goes away.

Based on my research, the error always occurs when you load custom extensions in SQL Server 2012 Data Tools or use Report Builder 2.0 to run an SSRS 2008 or SSRS 2008 R2 report that uses a custom data processing extension in server mode. According to your
description, it seems that you are not in those two scenarios. So I think this issue can be caused by that the Custom Data Process Extension is not deployed correctly in SQL Server Reporting Services.

Export Data Sources DEV Transport to Acceptance

Hi Friends I am having a Export Data Source 80VELEXT created in Development System. When I transport that Datasource to Acceptance. It is not getting activated. I checked in RSLOGSYSMAP Table. I do not see the DB4CLNT120 --AB4CLNT110 Check mark. Is it required to be ticked to activate this. But when I consulted MY SAP Basis team they told it is not required to be checked. They told only D53CLNT120 -- A53CLNT120 ECC - ECC is only required. Please help me how to activate this Export Datasource in Acceptance.

Hi Ravi, Please tell me exact step where you want me to change the source system to your Acceptance system Is it in the table RSLOGSYSMAP. OR where. I just created these datasources IN BI and nothing else is required no dtp no trans nothing. Just the Datasource and I need to transport this.

Creating list- data from child data source not appearing in output

I am trying to create a list of leads created between a date range for customers in a specific state. My audience is Persons. When I run the list, it does not return any values. However, I noticed that the date fields are not in the output. How do I get the date fields (from data source LEADS) into the output for my list? It seems to only be giving me output for the Parent data source of PERSONS.

Map the Date Fields of the Leads data source to the ams_list_entries and check the box display in list entries.

Bringing the actual cost (splitting among activity type) using 0co_om_cca data sources

Hi expert,
I'm using the data source 0co_om_cca_9 to bring the cost center data but the actual data is not being split per fixed and variable cost.
I've checked with CO team and the process to split the cost happens in the end of the month and it record the data with value type '3' in the covp table but the standard data source 0co_om_cca_9 just get the data with value type '4'.
Does someone know a standard datasource to bring the data with value type 3 from covp?

Data Source is in Inactive state while replicate datasource in BI 7.0

Hello,
When I replicate the datasource ZW_MAT_PLANT(My own data source which is combination of MARA and MARC) in RSA1-Datasources it is coming by default in inactive mode. In this inactive mode i can not delete this data source assignment adn i can not go inside this data source. While i click change icon to go inside the datasource it is giving me the error like you have no authorization for this datasource.
But from SU53 screen shot i have authorization for this.
Please help me in this.

BW export data source DEV- QAS transport

Dear Gurus
There are
two problems with trancport DSO 0cfm_o01 to Quality System.
Export datasource 80CFM_O01 has been transported to QAS without DSO,
and I can't
delete it from QAS(changes possible) via RSA1, RSA6
(Mapping
between 80CFM_O01 BWQCLNT001 80CFM_O01 is inconsistent).
Please,
help with transport DSO with nessesary object and generating datasource

Have you tried to transport DSO from Dev to Qua?
if not then please transport your DSO from Dev to Qua.
While collecting DSO into transport from RSA1-->transport connection, use grouping option as only necessary objects.
Cross check, your DSO need to be stored in custom package instead $tmp.
Cross check your transport request have any inconsistencies or not thru program - RSO_TLOGO_CHECK_REQUEST .

Data Source Activation - Master data u201CSource Not Activeu201D (Func. Mod. based)

Generated an export data source, message appears that it is u201CSuccessfully generatedu201D. I then selected the logical Source system and u201CReplicated all data sourcesu201D
I checked in RSA2 (data source repository in BI) and it exits.
Now that I am trying to use the generated datasource to load another MasterData Char Attributes, I get the error message u201DSource Not activeu201C, I am trying to create a transformation from 1st infoObjectu2019s export datasource to this object (both are of the same type etc)..
I am aware that we can use the program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL but this only works if we can see the datasource is RSDS (which I can not for this Datasource, perhaps the reason being that it is Function Module based? )
How else I could activate it? What other steps I should take or anything that can help me?   Please give your suggestions and I will say THANKS the SDN way.

I had the same problem today with an export DataSource generated on a planning area in our production SCM system.
I debugged running RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL in our QA system for the same DataSource amd saw that the program calls function module RSDS_DATASOURCE_COLLECTION_ACT to do the activation. I ran the function module in production using the same parameters.
Our DataSource is 9A_PRG_PA for source system SCP100. I used SE37 to run function module RSDS_DATASOURCE_COLLECTION_ACT with these parameters:
I_T_OBJNM     9A_PRG_PA                     SCP100
I_WITH_CTO
I_CONTEXT     'ACTIVATE_ALL'
I_FORCE                     X
This made an active version of the DataSource appear, and I was then able to run RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate it properly.

Data source activated in RSA5 but error in RSA3

Hi,
I have activated data source 0CRM_OPPT_H in transaction RSA5 in our CRM system and can view this in RSA6. However when I run the extractor checker RSA3, the system generates error ( "Errors occurred during the extraction Message no. RJ012").
Upon debugging I found that this is caused by not having entry in table SMOXHEAD_S for this data source.
Also when I go to transaction BWA1 I am not able to display this data source. Other master data sources that I activated earlier are working fine. Its the transaction data source 0CRM_OPPT_H or 0CRM_OPPT_I that are having issue.
Please let me know any other steps that I may not be doing after activating the Business content data source in CRM system using transaction RSA5.

Thanks again for your super fast reply. This really solved my issue.
However for may days I have been trying to understand this BWA transaction ( BWA1 and BWA5) and figured out some fact( Like BWA5 puts the same entry of smxhead table to snmxhead_s table to make the whole thing work, Also we can extend the mapping in the BWA1 to include additional custom object with out the badi coding( is it possible?) .
But this area still is a mystery and I would like to have a comprehensive article on this adapter layer and BDOC relationship. Is this possible for you to help here.

Activation of Data sources RSA5 for PP

Hi BW Gurus,
I am Activating the Business content Data sources in RSA5 while activation i am getting errors for Master data 0Prodorder_attr and Text
0workcenter_attr and text and hierarchy the data sources are not activating.
It displays the error msg "Request/task QLTK901816 can only be changed in client 320" currently i am working on 330 client for R3.
Please provide the solution for this.

Hi Shahid,
I think the transport request under which you are trying to capture the activated DS is in client 320. Create a new request in your current client (330) and provide this development class and transport request while activating. That should solve your problem. Hope it helps.

Smart View 11.1.1.2 Data Source Manager is Disabled

I just did a fresh install of Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.1.2 in a Windows 2003 Enterprise Server (64-bit) environment.
I'm now having problems running Smart View in this environment.
When I attempt to connect to a cube, from within Excel, the Data Source Manager appears in the right-hand pane, but I can't interact with it. Also, nothing at all appears in the Data Source Manager pane.
I've duplicated this problem in a Windows 7 RC1 64-bit environment as well (Yes, I know. It's not supported).
This looks like some sort of Active X issue.
I am running Office 2007 SP1. However, applying the latest MS Office updates did not alleviate the issue.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

you will most likely have to use the dropdown and add the server into the shared connections. Once done, it should be there for all users. It is best to add it usiing an ID with Admin access. I think there is a bug that would allow anyone to do it, but I'm not sure what version that was

Hello all,
Nice to know misery has lots of company. Having the same problem. I've gotten lots of suggestions and have tried everything short of reinstalling OS. The strange thing is that it was working at initially but my laptop crashed and I reinstalled everything. This problem appeared after the reinstall.
I'll keep trying and will let you know if the OS reinstall does the trick...
If anyone else comes up with something better - please post.

Data Source Identification

Dear Experts,
Can you please let me know how can we find out wether the Data source is a BI Data source or 3.x data source, for both the data sources when i right click there is a provision to Create a DTP so just confused is there any other way that can help us to find out weather it is a The BI DS or 3.x DS.

Go to Tr. RSA1-> Go to data sources-> In the 3rd column after data sources for client, technical name, we have a column M=A Version.
What it says is the column compares the modified and active versions. If you are in a BI 7.0 system and if the data source has a modified version and the data source you activated is not the modified version (i,e., 7.x version) then it does not show anything in the column.
If you did migrate the data source from 3.x to 7.x version than it shows a = symbol in the column against the data source.
And there are few data sources for which there are no modified versions, like 2LIS_01_S268. For these you can see the icon as the not equal to icon.
