Active x made on win95 won't run on win 2000/xp

Hi
My application is built on win xp/office 2000 Excell. Intention is to run it on win 95/office 97 Excell - machine.
Labview version is 6.02. Lv collects data from a data-logger and finally generates an Excell report using Active X.
Everything else goes fine except Active X part. Some method nodes (Range/PasteSpecial, Range Copy, Range Select etc.) are gray in diagram and they have to be recreated in win95. Most of the nodes operate ok.
Is there any way to make it work. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Martti
Microsoft changed its underlying Active X Object Model between the two different releases of Office 97 and Office 2000, that's the reason why you've to change some methods and properties.

  • Lightroom 5.6 won't run on Win 7 6 after upgrade through CC

Upgrading Lightroom to 5.5 stopped it from running. I found a fix on the net and moved on.
Now. Lightroom 5.6 has just upgraded and now it won't run. Also, I cannot find a fix - new or old.
    This is very frustating..
    Please help

Installing the standalone version just postpones the problem until you install the cloud version, again.
The SLCache folder has bad data in it that confused LR 5.5 and again LR 5.6 until it was cleared, via Solution 4 on this page.  Of course there could be other issues, so trying each of the solutions in order could be useful, but Solution 4 is the one that finally worked for me, with LR 5.5 on my home computer, and LR 5.6 on my work computer, where I'd installed the standalone 5.5 to bypass the issue and it came back with LR 5.6:
Lightroom doesn't launch or returns "Develop module is disabled" error after 5.5 update
Once you remove the contents of the SLCache folder other Adobe programs will ask to be relicensed like Elements via a serial number or the cloud programs by logging in, but that is just once after you clear it not each time.

  • HP Solution Center won't run in Win 10

I hava Photosmart 6525 All-In-One printer.  I just updated my Windows 7 OMNI All-In-One desktop to Windows 10 and and now the HP Solution Center won't run.  I get "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete".  The printer works great; however I can't scan.  I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer and software four times.  Every time it installs with no problem but the Solution center won't run.  Is there a fix for this?

Hi,The HP Solution Center is not a part of the Photosmart 6525 software, it exists on your PC from your previous HP printer and have nothing to do with the new one. The HP Photosmart 6525 provided with the HP Printer Assistant software, to launch its software type HP into the search bar and open the HP Photosmart 6520 software. As a refernce see the 'How can I find HP Solution Center for a printer manufactured after 2011?' section below:http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02463264 Regards,Shlomi

  • Philips VOIP phone install won't run on Win 7

    Hi -
I've got a Philips VOIP 0801B/37 phone. It has an install disk. When I run the install disk it says it only runs on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
What I want is the microphone. What does it take to get a bigger selection of microphones in the Skype dropdown list of microphones? All that shows for me is a single microphone for any of my headsets (a Realtek microphone). The Echo Sound Test Service does not record any messages when I try it.

  • Executable built in Win 7 LabVIEW won't run in Win XP

I'm using the "Invoke Node" function and and calling its "GetVersionInfo" property. When I make an executable, it runs fine under Win 7 but has a broken arrow under Win XP, and the error box says:
"The VI is not executable. The full development version of LabVIEW is required to fix the errors."
Now if I had an extra copy of LabVIEW to put on this machine, I'd slap a "full development version of LabVIEW" on that XP box. Let me check my wallet. NOPE, I do not have a spare $2,700! Is there another way to make this VI work?
I've attached the VI and executable.

    win_7_to_xp_problem.vi ‏12 KB

    I'm not sure about this.
The reason is because the GetVersionInfo has to work differently between 64bit OS than with 32bit OS. I don't know what (if any) dependency is compiled into the EXE for this (running WoW64 vs. generic 32bit)....

  • DAQ program compiled under Win2k won't run under Win 95.

When I compile a LabView 5.1.1 vi program that uses lvdaq.dll on my Windows 2000 workstation, that same program will not run on a Windows 95 notebook computer. Error code 21 (external subroutine could not be found) is reported for all standard DAQ vi's calling functions within lvdaq.dll even though the dll can be found in the program directory, the system directory, the vi.lib\daq directory, and via the system path. The same program compiled on a Windows 95 workstation runs on the Windows 95 notebook computer just fine. Why is lvdaq.dll not found when the program is compiled under Windows 2000? Do I need the same version of NI-DAQ on both computers?

    Larry;
If you are doing NI-DAQ function calls on your VI you need to match the NI-DAQ version on both machines, otherwise, depending on what functions you are calling and what are the NI-DAQ versions, you might get some errors. Just for future reference, this procedure is good for NI-VISA (if you are using VISA VIs) and NI-488.2 (if you are using GPIB boards) as well.

Checked out gcc-libs using pacman -Ss gcc-libs and it showed a lib32-gcc-libs on the list of packages.
So installed it and spotify now runs fine,

  • Universal Installer refuses to run on Win 2000 Server P-II

    Hello,
I've seen this problem all over but some people tell me it should only happen with P4 chips? As soon as I plop the 9i install CD into the drive, it auto runs and I click INSTALL. Within a couple seconds, I get a message:
"The Java Runtime Environment was not found at c:\docume~1\admini~1\locals~1\temp\orainstall\jre\bin\jrew.exe. Hence, the Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run. Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.7 or greater and try again."
I had this problem on an existing server so I did a BRAND NEW installation of Windows 2000 Server and then applied SP3. Still same problem. The processor is a PII-366. What could be wrong?
I've followed all the steps I have found so far:
I've tried copying the install disks to the hard drive.
I've tried renaming the symcjit.dll files (all of them).
I've made sure that all the files are not read only (since they came off of
    the CD-R)
I've tried downloading various versions of the JRE (from 1.1.8 to 1.4)
I've read the installation .PDF included on the CD.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi Raghavan,
Have you applied Services Pack 4 to your WIN 2K SVR installation? If not please do so. After Installation of Oracle 8i you should update the listener.ora (found under ...\<oracle home>\ora82\network\ADMIN). For further details check Oracle installation guide.

  • Adding a windows client to a sun one Directory server running on Win 2000

    Hi,
I am a newbie to sun one directory server but i am familiar with windows active directory.
I have followed the instructions and installed Sun One Directory Server on Windows 2000 Server using a typical setup and create a domain and also created some users in that domain.
The next thing i wanted to do was to add a windows 2000 professional desktop on this domain and login with one of the user accounts. I tried to adding the computer to the domain via the "My Computer->Network Identification->Properties->Domain" option and gave the domain name as the one i created on the Sun One Directory Server, but i get an error saying that domain was not found.
Am i missing something here. Do i need to install some client piece on the windows 2000 desktop to add the box on the sun one domain and login in as one of the users.
Any help will be deeply appreciated?
    Thanks,
    Raj...

yes, you can use samba for a windows client to login to ldap
    http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/happy.html#id2536158
, but for windows XP clients you need to tweak the registry

I have a Java Applets which is used to connect to a remote element using server socket connections.

However ,the same I do in Win2K Pro SP4 with IE6 SP1 it doesn't work. In this case all the applets hung.
Does Java applet has platform specific problem? Any pointers regarding this problem highly appreciated.

    Hi.
Strange. The fact that you can't run as an Windows service tells me something may be
wrong with your os. Is it possible to try a different windows machine? This is not a

  • Flashplayer installed and active but won't run

Hi. I seem to be having the same problem as several others on here: I've got the latest version of Flash  installed and active on my Win8.1 system, and it shows as an active add-on in the latest version of Firefox, but it stalls on loading and won't run. This started immediately after the latest Flash update was released: I've tried uninstalling and re-installing.
    Thanks.

You're more than welcome to file performance bugs at http://bugbase.adobe.com/.  I noticed that the page on adobe.com took a really long time to load for me as well on Chrome, but Adobe.com is super complex, and I think that has something to do with a poorly performing back-end service.  Since you're seeing the slow script dialog not loading on the watch page, it's pretty clear that Flash Player is installed and playing content under normal circumstances.  The interesting part is that one of those dialogs is talking about JavaScript running on the page, and the other is talking about Flash.  It's unclear without debugging the issue whether it's the browser or the plugin; however, as you've noticed, both work fine in Internet Explorer.
It's important to point out that both Adobe and Microsoft made a tremendous effort in tuning the  Internet Explorer experience for Windows 8 and higher.  The latest versions of IE offer a fast, modern plug-in architecture that efficiently offers defense-in-depth protection against the modern generation of security threats (as opposed to the sandboxing approach that we retrofit to Firefox).  Similarly, Google Chrome provides a modern, secure plug-in architecture and invests heavily in making the Flash experience in the browser great.  I'm a Firefox fan as well, but the reality is that you might be more satisfied with your experience when using a different browser.
For the crash, I'd be happy to take a look at the crash analysis to see if I can find anything useful.
In Firefox, if you type about:crashes in the address bar, you should get a list of recent crashes.
Click each link to submit it to the Mozilla crash reporting system.
Copy the address from the resulting window into a reply here.

  • Activity Monitor Won't Run

Anyone else having this problem? Activity monitor will simply not run. It starts, then crashes...every time.

Me, too! Since upgrading to SL & then immediately to 10.6.2 a couple days ago.
Well, it won't run - it didn't crash, it just hung on startup. I tried repairing permissions and, after finding this thread, removed the plist file suggested, but no luck. I just realized I should check the log (Console), and found it was putting out this, over and over again:
    12/13/09 11:28:47 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.ActivityMonitor[4828]) posix_spawn("/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/activitymonitord", ...): No such file or directory
And exiting, then retrying every 10 seconds.
I opened the Activity Monitor package to confirm that activitymonitord is there, but upon rereading the message I realized it's telling me Activity Monitor needs to be in the utilities folder - and I had moved it into a subdirectory (to declutter my Utilities folder). It always worked there in previous systems, but apparently SL's Activity Monitor has a hard-coded address built in.
I moved AM back to where Apple wants it and it immediately opened. Don't know if this helps anyone else, but I thought I'd put this out there in case it does . . .
(Yes, I know you "should" leave programs where Apple puts them and keep your files in your user folder, but I just like to do things my way whenever I can get away with it.)

  • Action steps that won't run correctly in PSE 7/8/9 (but did in 4 and 6)

I have a wonderful action that was written to work in PSE 3/4/6.  It won't run in PSE 7/8/9.  After fooling around for a while, I think I understand why.  Adobe changed the way Adjustment Layers are handled.  In earlier versions of Photoshop and Elements, Adjustment Layers threw up a modal dialog box.  That changed so that Adjustment Layers now appear in the Palette Bin as a palette.
Here a sample of some of the action steps that won't work correctly:
    Make adjustment layer
    Using: adjustment layer
    Type: levels
    Set Selection
    To: none
    Set current layer
    To: layer
    Name:  “Adjustment 1”
    Set current layer
    To: layer
    Mode: luminosity
    Stop
    Message:  “Move gray slider left”
    With Continue
    Set current adjustment layer
    To: levels
In earlier versions of PS and PSE, the way these steps would work is that a new adjustment layer would be created, the dialog box giving the instruction would open, it would be dismissed by clicking "Continue," and then the "Set current adjustment layer to: Levels" would generate a model adjustment layer dialog box would open up which would let one make the adjustment.
In newer versions, since Adjustment Layers are handled in the Palette Bin, after dismissing the instructions, the action doesn't stop to allow the user to make change the sliders on the adjustment layer.
The action runs perfectly in CS4 and CS5 and throws up the levels adjustment modal box as it did in PSE 4 and PSE 6, but the action doesn't throw the modal box in PSE 7/8/9
Does anyone know of a way to alter the action steps to allow the action to stop to allow the adjustment and then to resume again?

Adding a new levels adjustment layer on top of the Midtone contrast layer
should work, just use a clipping mask to restrict the adjustments to the
areas of the levels adjustment layer below. The histogram will be different, but
actually testing the action is really the only way to know if that makes any difference.
Replacing the levels adjustment layer is another option, though it requires a few more steps.
The following assumes when the action gets to this point,
the Midtone contrast adjustment layer is the active (selected) layer.
To record this part of the action:
    1. Duplicate current channel (in the channels panel. drag the Midtone contrast mask
down to the Create new channel icon at the bottom of the channels panel)
    2. Ctrl+click on the newly created channel (Midtone contrast mask copy)
This loads the selection of that channel.
    3. Drag the new channel (midtone contrast mask copy) to the trash icon at the bottom
       of the channels panel.
    4. Back in the layers panel, delete the Midtone Contrast adjustment layer.
    5. Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Levels
This creates a new levels adjustment layer using the selection loaded from
the duplicated channel and opens the levels dialog.
To load the RGB (composite) as a selection, Ctrl+click on the rgb in the channels panel
and the same is true for the red, green and blue channels.
With layer masks, elements doesn't seem to want to load them as selections in actions,
so that's the reason for the action steps above.

  • CS2 won't run

CS2 won't run, says activation code no longer usable. Been running win7 on this system 3 years. Adobe says it won't activate in win7. Well, it did, and ran just fine. what's up?

I assume when you say "Adobe says it won't activate in win7" that you talked to customer support....
A drive change could trigger the need for reactivation.  Did you tell them that you're running from a mirrored drive?
It sounds to me that they're being aggressive about trying to get you to upgrade when they should still be supporting you with active maintenance of their activation database.
But unfortunately if you can't get them to adjust their database you're out of luck.
