ActiveDirectory_DomainService EventID 1481 Error
Dear All,
First of all: please apologize my weak English
I had a few strange warnings on internal processing yesterday in the directory service Eventlog on a RODC (2K8) in our branch office. After some head scratching, I decided
to run a integrity check on the ntds.dit - furthermore I've compacted the Database on the RODC - even knowing, there is an automatic process for that. At the end: no luck at all! - Long story short answer: I demoted the RODC.
To gain more information on the health state of the directory partitions, I turned on verbose loging for internal processing (log Level 5). In this mode I received many occurrences
of the following errors:

These errors are only displayed while verbose (debug) logging on "Internal Processing" and we have no known Issue with our ADDS Forest. But now I'm:
a) little bit concerned
b) Curious what's going on (I already know what the DSIS-%nr% represents and that object or attribute of objects were not found.
I'm just asking for your professional advice or help if needed, as I don't have much experience with this kind of errors.
kind regards
Basil
MCITP Enterprise Admin
MCSA Windows Server 2012
And some other stuff....
It could be (for example) a DC was promoted for a new DC in the forest and either the promote failed or the DC was removed before the global catalog was converged. Using this example, there would still be an object for this domain in the Configuration
NC yet to be cleaned up. With no other events to go on that would indicate this - or any other - root cause of the situation it's almost impossible to tell.
If you're really adamant about clearing this event, you could do a semantic database analysis on one of the DC's to see if that fixes it.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816754(v=WS.10).aspx
Otherwise I'd keep monitoring the DS logs to see if additional errors crop up indicating a problem. For now it sounds like the forest is probably ok. There might just be some "junk" in the database, but not likely a corruption.

Creative Cloud app: SideBySide EventID 80 error in Windows 7
Since updating to the latest version of the CC Desktop app last week I've noticed in Event Viewer that I'm consistently getting an error each time I use my PC (running Win7 x64). I've never seen this error before and wondered if other Windows users have encountered it (known issue?) and how to go about resolving it. Here's the error log summary:
Activation context generation failed for "c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\adobe creative cloud\Utils\Creative Cloud Uninstaller.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Component 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.76 01.17514_none_41e6975e2bd6f2b2.manifest. Component 2: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0. 7601.17514_none_fa396087175ac9ac.manifest.
It appears that when the CC update ran, it installed (reinstalled?) Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.40219 and I believe that this has possibly caused the glitch, but I'm not certain. As you can see from the above log, this has something to do with the CC uninstaller: odd, as I'm obviously not trying to uninstall it each time I boot up the PC.
Does anyone have any advice? Fortunately, this doesn't appear to be causing any problems in launching my applications, and I can open up CC desktop without any issues. I wouldn't even know about this if I didn't keep an eye on Event Viewer.
MYes, there's no doubt that this error is being caused by the CC app, and like you, it happened after I last updated the app.
I've tried a number of things to resolve this, including re-installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable, removing and re-installing the CC app, etc., but I continue to get this error message being logged by Windows more or less daily.
I decided not to go to the lengths of the solution proposed by Vienna_Sydney because, whilst annoying, the error isn't causing any noticeable problems on my system (some folks who've had SideBySide errors related to other applications (notably Acrobat) have had system crashes so I count myself lucky), but I'm still concerned that I'm getting this error being logged on my otherwise perfectly functioning and well maintained PC, all thanks to an Adobe install. I'd like to think Adobe are on the case, but the CC app seems to be consistently buggy and I'm not holding my breath...

If you have some custom pipeline component which is failing you can debug the same using Visual Studio.
If receive location is configured for In-Process Host then attach the pipeline component code to BTSNTSvc.exe if it is isolated and you are receiving messages from webservice associate it to w3wp.exe

HFM OpenApplication Unspecified Error
Hi All,
Greetings!
I am facing this issue while opening HFM application (after I created the new HFM application).
*Note: I am getting this same error when I try to open a newly created HFM app in system 9.2/9.3/11.1.1.3/11.1.2. SO i believe there is some security/RAM/access issue for the admin ID with IIS/DCOM configuration. (As the error messages and other logs are same for all versions)

AnkitHi there,
I have seen this error in the past I think.
It is related with the configuration of the app server and the Working Folder.
I would suggest to reconfigure your system and make sure that all the folders that you will define during configuration exist.

Win2008 Cluster ASCS + CI + DI + STMS error
Hi all,
I've installed an SAP ECC in cluster environment in Win2008, as followed by guides, I installed
Clustered ASCS (cluster host is CISAPCL)
Clustered DB instance (host DBSAPCL)
then local CI at node1 and local DI at node2.
now transport system doesn't work, because sapevt did not found mshost (whitch should be CISAPCL), but I can reache CISAPCL from both cluster nodes (where CI and DI are installed).
I figured it out that TMS RFC's try to conect to cluster node 1 and tp import accesses
node2\sapmnt\SID\sys\profile, wich doesn't exists.
I think something has been misunderstood. I hope someone could enlightme.
errors in TMS Logs are:
Trace File of External Event Raiser (Level=0, Append=1
EventID: SAP_TRIGGER_RDDIMPDP
ERROR ***: Cannot determine mshost
rdisp/mshost is defined to CISAPCL.
thanks,
Pedro RodriguesHI!!
I've defined parameter SID/system_pf as per Note 449270 - Job RDDIMPDP is not triggered by sapevt.
seems to solved my problem.
thanks in advance,
BR

Ultra 40 Event12, Kernel-WHEA error log in WinVista x64
While I still enjoy working with my Ultra 40 Workstation, lately, I've noticed Kernel-WHEA (EventID 12) error log which seems to appear everytime Windows Vista x64 boots up.
My Ultra 40 has AMD Opteron 280 box with 4GB RAM and is running Windows Vista Ultimate x64.
And here' the error log in Event Viewer;
Event12, Kernel-WHEA
Machine Check Event reported is a fatal Bus or Interconnect timeout error.
Memory Hierarchy Level: 3
Participation: 0
Request Type: 3
Memory/IO: 0
Address: 30422400
Very same error log (only with different numbers in the address section) appears everytime Windows boots up, but it does not seem to reappear while Windows is on. In other words, this specific error gets logged only during the bootup process.
Anyway, I did some research and tried to find out what it meant and how to fix it, but only things I found were WHEA meaning 'Windows Hardware Error Architecture' and Event12, Kernel-WHEA meaning 'Bus timeout machine check exception'.
So I ran AMD's MCAT (Machine Check Analysis Tool) to dig little more information about the error, and here what MCAT says:
Event Source 0
Processor Number : 0
Bank Number : 0
Time Stamp (0x): 01C83B55 755106C4
Error Status (0x): D4384000 00000833
Error Address (0x): 00000000 01D03580
Error Misc. (0x): 00000000 00000000
Single bit errors:
Correctable ECC error
Error address valid in MCi_ADDR
Error reporting enabled
Second error
Error valid
Bus Error Code:
Participation processor: Local node originated the request (SRC)
Time-out: Request did not time out
Memory transaction type: Data read (DRD)
I/O: DRAM memory access (MEM)
Cache level: Generic (LG)
Data Cache Error MC0:
System line fill error into data cache
Syndrome: 0x70
I did ran Sun provided diagnostic tool to see if I get any CPU/RAM related error, but all tests had passed.
And I do not have any problem in 'Device Manager' and even clean installation of Windows Vista didn't resolve the issue.
So pelase, I desperately need any input to either resolve this annoying error, or at least a hint what part of my hardware is gone wrong.
Thanks in advancerukbat,
Thanks for your comment and suggestion.
But I just cannot ignore this error, and here's why;
My system used to run flawlessly without any error log previsouly. This error occured recently. (No it's not due to MS update, since clean-installation of Windows without any update exhibits the same error with ever since).
So something has gone bad and it must be hardware.
Anyway, I did some more tests in the mean time
Swapping CPU1 to CPU2: same error message
Repositioning DIMMs with each other: same error message
Removing DIMM's for CPU1 (with rest of 2GB installed for CPU2): no error log
Removing DIMM's for CPU2 (with rest of 2GB installed for CPU1): same error message.
So it seems neither CPU's nor DIMM's is causing the error.
Would it be due to faulty motherboard?

Problem in moving transport request
Hi,
While performing transports at OS level, we are facing some error.
below is the log. Please look into this issue.
We have already trigged manually RDDNEWPP and
SAP_TRIGGER_RDDIMPDP from client 000
>tp import pf=TP_DOMAIN_FD3.PFL FD3K915202 FT3 CLIENT=010 U01268
This is tp version 372.04.08 (release 700, unicode enabled)
Warning: Parameter DBLIBPATH is no longer used.
ERROR: The following call returned with exit code 236:
ERROR: sapevt SAP_TRIGGER_RDDIMPDP -t name=FT3
ERROR: Background jobs cannot be started.
ERROR: Please check trace file dev_evt.
We have also manually triggerred RDDIMPDP via sapevt from OS level. But issue still persist.
There is no error in Import log and import history. But we are getting the below error in slog.
WARNING: System FT3. Warning. 20090602114617 :
ERROR: The following call returned with exit code 236:
ERROR: sapevt SAP_TRIGGER_RDDIMPDP -t name=FT3
ERROR: Background jobs cannot be started.
ERROR: Please check trace file dev_evt.
WARNING: (This warning is harmless if no further warnings follow.)
The error in dev_evt is as follows:
Tue Jun 2 09:51:58 2009
Trace File of External Event Raiser (Level=2, Append=0)
EventID: SAP_TRIGGER_RDDIMPDP
ERROR ***: Cannot determine mshost
Please suggest..................
Thanks,
Sourav MisraI have resolved the problem........
As per SAP note 821875 point 2(Security settings in the message server), MSEACCESSDENIED (or rc= -20) errors message can occur if the parameter rdisp/msserv_internal is not defined with 0 value
We have removed rdisp/msserv_internal from instance profile, and add it again in the DEFAULT profile with 0 value. Remember that, after this, it's important to check that the value has been correctly changed in the correct file DEFAULT.PFL
After this, we have restarted the instance.
I have attached also the following SAP note for information:
826779 - sapevt (Version 5): Security settings in the Msg.g.
Please maintain the RDDIMPDP in all clients with user
DDIC in accordanceof note 11677. Goto SE38, use RDDNEWPP
to schedule RDDIMPDP on client
000 and other client with DDIC user.
Thanks,
Sourav Misra

Hi,
I worked myself through Craigs Weblogs and some Forum Post and upgraded my MinWas succesfully to Patch 53 (Basis and ABAP) But now I'm stuck at 54.
I've applied all the latest kernel patches, single files,
tp, r3* etc.
Symptom:
System hangs now in Phase DDIC_Activation for ever!
Transport System Check ist okay.
Deleted Buffer and readded. -> No effect
Resceduled Background Job -> No effect
Additionally I found this message in slogo532.bsp:

but rdisp/mshost is set, services ist set, hosts is set ???
What can I do to solve this issue?
Any help is appreciated.

rdisp/wp_no_btc = 2 (I think, I am at work now)
@Craig
I've read the all-together-Patch note, but did not find any reference to any conditions regarding Patch 54.
Even the patch note itself states only the preceding patch 53 as necessary.
But since there are errors written I will try to work a long those.
@peter
Is there any problem in setting background processes to high with miniWAS? i.e. can I try 10 for example?
Thanks,
Regards

Thanks for the reply. Yes i will lock all the users before we start with the downtime phase. But there is a problem in application server A1 and A2 that if you check in the dev_evt log, it states that

and CI dev_evt states that

Hi,
We are observing that ttcserver process is corebumping.
And we are getting following error in our application logs:

PratheejWhat is your OS?
At the time of the problem, how many users are connected to TimesTen? (have a look in the message log around this time (2010-04-17 18:29:53) and see what the value of nUsers is.
Is it possible you are validly out of memory - if you check system memory is there plenty showing as free?
Can you share the 'ulimit -a' and 'ulimit -Ha' outputs for the user the ttcserver daemon runs as? -
Mail crashes when executing a rule that runs an applescript
I have set up a rule in mail that when executed runs an apple script. Most of the time it crashes mail, but occasionally runs completely or just partially. Doesn't matter what the apple script is, most of the time it will just crash. I've done a clean install of OS X, so the system is in pristeen condition.
The rule says if an message is from the specified sender then to execute the applescript. I invoke the rule by right clicking on a message from the sender and selecting the 'apply rules' menu item, or when a new message from the sender arrives in the mail box.
Here's the applescript (a edited version of one of the scripts that was included from Apple)
using terms from application "Mail"

Here is Apple's example script, you can easily view it by turning on the Script menu bar in the AppleScript Utility application, then in Mail hold down the option key while accessing the script menu, Mail Scripts -> Rule Actions -> Sample Rule Action Script

This script is an example of how to write an AppleScript that can be
attached as a rule action. See Mail Help for details and Mail's
AppleScript dictionary for the full terminology for the 'perform mail
action with messages' handler.
If you attach this script to a rule action, and the rule
matches an incoming message, a dialog box will display, showing
the name of the rule that matched and the subject of the message
that matched. One dialog per matched message will appear.
This is also an example of how you can write scripts that appear in the
Scripts menu and can pass in parameters for the selected messages and/or
mailboxes in Mail's main viewer window.
using terms from application "Mail"
on perform mail action with messages theMessages for rule theRule
tell application "Mail"
set theText to "This AppleScript is intended to be used as an AppleScript rule action, but is also an example of how to write scripts that act on a selection of messages or mailboxes." & return & return & "To view this script, hold down the option key and select it again from the Scripts menu."
repeat with eachMessage in theMessages
set theSubject to subject of eachMessage
try
-- If this is not being executed as a rule action,
-- getting the name of theRule variable will fail.
set theRuleName to name of theRule
set theText to "The rule named '" & theRuleName & "' matched this message:"
set theText to theText & return & return & "Subject: " & theSubject
display dialog theText
set theText to ""
end try
end repeat
if theText is not equal to "" then
display dialog theText buttons {"OK"} default button 1
end if
end tell
end perform mail action with messages
end using terms from
As far as Mail being busy I've disabled, junk mail filtering, set Check for New Mail to Manually and disabled all other rules except the one that I'm trying to debug here. Additionally Mail is only configured for 2 POP mail boxes that are completely empty except for the 1 email message that would meet the rule's condition. I run the rule by right clicking on the email and then selecting Apply Rules.
The following AppleScript works... instead of using display dialog, I create a new mail message and set the body of the message to the text I want to display... work great!
using terms from application "Mail"
on perform mail action with messages theMessages for rule theRule
tell application "Mail"
repeat with eachMessage in theMessages
set theNewBody to subject of eachMessage & return
set theNewBody to theNewBody & sender of eachMessage & return
set theNewSubject to "display dialog message..."
set newMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {subject:theNewSubject, content:theNewBody & return & return}
tell newMessage
set visible to true
end tell
end repeat
end tell
end perform mail action with messages
end using terms from
So it definitely appears to be an issue with the Display Dialog command. Makes debugging scripts kind of hard
Thanks for your help debugging the issue. I profess I don't know how to read the crash logs, how could you tell that it was the display dialog command, causing Mail to crash? Is there any other info that is in there that could help us figure out why it only crashes about 95% of the time?
Is there anyway to tell if this has been submitted to apple as a mail/applescript bug? But is there any know work around?
Regards,
