ActiveX and Netmeeting

I 'd like to call Netmeeting with Labview and to use it without making it appear directly on the screen. The sound works 5 sec and then Netmeeting shut down. Why is that so? Moreover I do not succeed in extracting the video. I don't care about the other fonctionnalities (file transfer, white board,...). Could somebody give me some advices? Thanks in advance

Hy Vincent,
I'm actually using Netmeeting 3.01 and Labview 6i.
I made a new VI that is now working. I mean that the sound works but I don't know how to extract the video and to make it appear on my VI without showing the Netmeeting front panel.
My testing is performed as follow: Netmeeting should be launched on a remote PC. Then I run my VI on my PC and I'd like to start a video-conference (sound+video) like that between my own and the remote computer.
Thank you for helping me.
Regards,
Arnaud

  • Problems with ActiveX and an IRtrans-modul

    Hello,
    I have a problem with an IRtrans-USB-modul. This is a modul for learning or sending infrared commands.
    The modul is connecting to the USB-port and supports ActiveX and .NET protocols.
    I have registered the ocx-library with the command regsvr32 and in LabVIEW I have the selection for the ActiveX-class.
    But when I use a method and will send or learn a command I get the
    failure: Exception occured in Winsock, wrong protocol or connection
    status for the prompted transaction or demand. Help path in
    MSWNSK98.chm and context 1040006 in Unbenannt1.
    With the supplied software from the manufactor the modul is working fine.
    Somebody is using this as well? Or somebody could help me with this problem?

    Hello Tweety,
    I've installed the software for the IRtrans module. Unfortunately, I can't start a server, because for this I have to connect this module.
    If You can select the methods of the IRtrans objects in LabVIEW, the activex connection should be OK. Make sure, that You use the right parameters and the right data types.
    Here is a link to the software, I've installed. Do You have the same Version?

  • Whats the difference between adobe flashplayer plugin,activex and adobe flashplayer?

    whats the difference between adobe flashplayer plugin,activex and adobe flashplayer?

    How does Flash Player differ on various browsers?

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player Plugin

    Windows 7 64bit / IE8
    I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player Plugin thinking they would be reinstalled together when I installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
    Now I only see the entry for Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX 10.2.159.1 listed in - Uninstall or change a program.
    I was wondering how to get the Adobe Flash Player Plugin?
    Thanks.

    These are the files listed in the folder.
    Flash10p.ocx
    FlashInstall.log
    FlashUtil10p_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10p_AciveX.exe
    I originally uninstalled Flash Player 10 ActiveX and the Flash Player Plugin
    thinking they would both be reinstalled with the newer version. When I installed
    the newer version of Flash Player 10 ActiveX I noticed the Plugin was missing
    and wondered what happened to it. I didn't know it needed to be downloaded
    seperatly and I also didn't know what it was for exactly. As it is right now
    everything works and since I'm not using any other browser - downloading
    the Plugin isn't required. At least now I have an idea what the Plugin it was
    intended for and know it's not needed.
    Thank You.

  • ActiveX and PlugIn Flashplayer both installed - only ActiveX updates automatically

    I'm responsible for a bunch of Windows computers including some at a non-profit where we have both IE and Firefox (as well as Chrome) installed. Consequentially we have both the ActiveX and PlugIn versions of Flashplayer installed.  It seems that the Flashplayer automatic updates only update the ActiveX version and not the PlugIn version. This has been going on for a long time including on Windows 7. Is there any fix for this? Or at the very least is there a way to switch the order so that the PlugIn Flashplayer gets updated rather than the ActiveX version?
    Edit: To be clear, most of the computers are probably set to "Notify Me To Install New Updates" but only the new ActiveX version gets installed.  Even if the computer is set to allow Adobe to install updates only the new ActiveX version gets installed.

    Hi paradoox,
    For the Background Updates ('Allow Adobe to install Updates (recommended)' option), both players are updated, however, the Activex version is updated first and then about an hour later the Plugin is updated.
    For the Notification Updates ('Notify me to install updates' option), Flash Player checks for an update when Flash content is played.  If an update is available, it creates a registry entry that then launches the Update Notification window when the system is rebooted or the user logs off/on.  In this scenario, whichever version of Flash Player (Activex or Plugin) was in use during the check is the one that creates the registry entry and is the one that is updated.  I know this isn't ideal, however, this is legacy functionality and has been this way for a very long time.  Unless you've modified the update check interval, the default is 7 days.
    Since you indicate the Plugin is not being updated via Background Updates, I'd like to look at the FlashInstall.log file on an impacted machine.  Unfortunately, Background Updates don't write to the log file unless verbose logging is enabled (which you most likely don't have configured), but I may still be able to glean some information from the current log file on the system.  Please provide the log file from an impacted machine using the instructions here, How to share a document.
    To enable Background Update verbose logging, add the following to the mms.cfg file: SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1.   Background Updates checks for an update once per day, so if you enable this today, it should contain related information within a day or so, depending on when the Background Update task is actually configured to execute on impacted machines.

  • JDK1.3 and Netmeeting Not compatible??  Need expert opinion! Thanks!! :)

    Hi Everyone!! :)
    I have researched this topic and have not been able to find a decent answer yet. So I'm asking the experts now!! :)
    I have a java application written and compiled in jdk1.3. When a user runs this application remotely through netmeeting, they only get an intial gray frame, but nothing shows up on it. The menus and other GUI stuff ARE usuable, just not visible to the user. NOTE- if watching from the computer where the application is actually run from, everything initializes just fine. I've read that this is a problem in general with jdk1.3. Has anyone had any success with jdk1.4 and Netmeeting? Or does anyone know of a way to get to force jdk1.3 to work with netmeeting?? The later of the two would be preferable due to compatiblity issues with other programs and jdk1.4...
    If I find something useful myself, I'll post it, but right now I've hit a dead end. ANY ideas would be great! ;)
    Thank You!!
    Katie

    Sounds odd...I'm sure that the same technology used in Netmeeting was used in Remote client access...and I can run my applets thru Remove access with no problems. I usually find problems like this are related to a graphics problem...like colors too high, resolution too high, or the video acceleration is too high.

  • Problems with activeX and native

    Hello SDN Community,
    i use NW04S SP11, NWDS 7.0.11 and Adobe LifecycleDesigner 7.1.
    I want to generate an Interactive Form with WebDynpro for Java only for Printing and Saving. Also I don't want to display the document in the browser so I set the displayType to activeX, because this isn't possible with native (ZCI). I have also installed the Active Component Framework. But when I deploy the application with activeX and start the application the Form is not displayed and the AcroRd32.exe runs with 98% in the TaskManager. When I deploy the Application with displayType native, the document is displayed but I can't save and open the document (Adobe Reader 8.0.0).
    I hope that anybody can help me. It's very urgent.
    Thanks

  • ActiveX, and Downloads Save Folder

    So I'm using Safari 3.0.4 Beta on the Windows version. Is there anyway you can install an ActiveX plug-in? Some of my friends' kids come over to watch videos on http://cartoonnetwork.com/video but in the Safari for Windows browser, you cannot?
    And can I request a feature? Can you make the downloads save folder to anything, like instead of just a specific folder, you can download something (for example, a image.png) and save it to a choosen folder everytime? Also may it be possible to search from the Search bar AND the address bar (just type something for example: "define bbcode" (without quotes) into the address bar and it'll use your default search engine to find it.
    Thanks.

    it's not in the HTML menu, it's in the main commands menu:
    'Apply Active
    Content Update'. You have to have already published an HTML
    page for
    your SWF - it asks you to browse to that page and then
    applies the fix
    to it.
    I don't think it's very good though, and still prefer
    deconcept.com's
    swfobject. Compare the two solutions (do a view source on
    each page to
    see the difference):
    Adobe solution:
    http://www.moloko.f2s.com/flashtest/mm_index.html
    SWFObject solution:
    http://www.moloko.f2s.com/flashtest/moloko_index.html
    The latter is much more elegant and includes flash player
    version
    detection as well.

  • ActiveX and pie chart problem

    I am trying to create a bar of pie chart in Excel 2003. I am able to insert my data and create the chart, but I need to set the "SplitValue" to 6. I was able to find the property for doing this but I get an error when I run the vi (see attached).  Any thoughts?

    I think your problem is that you don't have "Index" wired for the ChartGroups property. Thus, it may be returning a collection of chart groups, but you are typecasting it to a single chart group.

  • RV320 SSL VPN ActiveX and Virtual Passage driver on Windows 7 64-bit

    Hi,
    My company has just purchased a new RV320 router and only afterwards found out from the release notes that there are issues with the SSL VPN in this unit and other small business routers. Is there any news on when these issues will be fixed?
    1) ActiveX controls have expired certificate dated 24/9/14 - this prevents them from running unless without changing IE security settings to prompt or allow unsigned controls, which is a big security risk.
    2) ActiveX controls do not work on Windows 64-bit. Release notes state Windows 7 IE10 and Windows 8.1 IE11, however they also fail on Windows 7 IE11. Even adding router to Trusted Sites to force 32-bit mode results in error message stating that IE is required for the controls.
    3) Virtual Passage driver will not install - crashes IE10/IE11 with a BEX violation.  From a dig around the web it appears that the Netgear SRX5308 uses the same Cavium chipset and a Virtual Passage driver that works with Windows 7 64-bit, and installs fine using IE10/11 (and if you install the Netgear driver it works with the Cisco RV routers too, proving that the driver is fully compatible...) - if Netgear can get this working, why can't Cisco?
    I've only just started setting us this router and show stopper issues like this might end up with an RMA being requested as it appears to be unsuitable for purpose, already run into other issues with I've posted about. :(
    EDIT: Got (2) sort of working on IE11 - seems that the Cisco interface is specifically looking for old style IE user agent strings, so using developer tools to set the user agent to IE9, and changing security settings in Trusted Sites to prompt for unsigned controls (due to issue (1)), allows the controls to install and load. These issues are pretty simple to fix, requiring just a string check change and updated signed controls. Fingers crossed these are fixed in the new firmware due soon, awaiting response from Cisco support to my open ticket.
    Looks like (3) is prevented from working by (1), and also because the certificate has expired it is treated as software without a valid publisher which cannot be installed in Windows 7 without fiddling in the registry. Releasing an updated version with a certificate that isn't expired should solve that issue too.
    These are ridiculously simple fixes to push out, I can't believe a major hardware vendor like Cisco hasn't already solved these issues.

    I've had a reply from Cisco support regarding this issue, and it's a bleak outlook. This is a copy from the email I received:
    "Engineering has no plans to support SSL VPN on RV32x due to chipset limitations. Pretty much, it will work for old XP and Win7 32-bits."
    So Cisco are falsely advertising that the RV320 has SSL VPN capabilities when there are no plans to update it so that it works with 64-bit Windows (which is now the major install base for Windows as most new systems are 64-bit based), and as the certificates have expired in the SSL VPN components they are not even useable on 32-bit systems without overriding a number of security settings.

  • Labview, ActiveX, and VarPtr

    I currently have a 3rd party ActiveX product that I am using with Labview 11.0.  One of the Methods requires me to pass the VARPTR of a TYPE (Labview Cluster) and the LEN of the TYPE.  In Visual Basic, VARPTR and LEN produces a 32bit signed long integer word.  How do I get the Labview-equivalent of VARPTR and LEN values of a Labview Cluster to pass to the routine.

    You can get a pointer to a memory address in LabVIEW.  The functions you'll need are DSNewPtr, MoveBlock, and DSDisposePtr.  These functions are built into LabVIEW and you can call them using a call library function node configured with the library name set to "LabVIEW."  They are documented in the LabVIEW help, and there are examples for how to use them on this forum.  You can get the size of a cluster by flattening it to a string, then getting the string length.  If your ActiveX component expects to do something useful with that cluster, you may need to reorganize the cluster or add extra padding elements because LabVIEW does not necessarily pack structure elements the same way other software does.  Also be aware that LabVIEW data has the opposite endianness of most Windows software so you may need to do some byte-swapping.

  • How to call matlab function through activex and execute in labview?

  • Labview, ActiveX, and ThorLabs Piezo controller

    Grettings,
    We recently purchased some 6-axis piezo positioners, and 3-channel APT controllers from ThorLabs. The main goal of this was to created a Labview program that can automate the positoners and have them move in sync with other measurement hardware. All the software I can seem to find for the controllers is this ActiveX stuff. Is there a normal Labview driver for these Piezo controllers? Or does anyone have a good example code of Labview controlling the movements of the piezo positioners without this ActiveX GUI interface. I basically need to automate an optical alignment very accurately and quickly(with the piezo) based on measurements from other devices, such as lasers and power supply's power meters, mulit-meters, ect.
    Any help/tips/suggestions will be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Everyone,
                      I am really very new to Labview and i am in great need for some help.I am assigned a task where i am supposed to create a labview program to control or moniter a BPC203 3 channel benchtop  Piezo controller. I created a program with the help of the instructions provided in the APT-Labview guide provided by Thorlabs.But th program doesnt run . Whenever i try to run it i get the same error which says that "Control HW Communications disabled".I have attached a snapshot of the error message.So i tried to create a small program in labview which would read the volage output.Even there i got the same error message.I suppose there is some mistake on my part which i am not able to correct due to the lack of proper knowledge.Could anyone please help me to solve this problem.A slight elaboration would be highly appreciated.Also i think the error lies in the use of invoke node with the get Voltage output method. I am not sure whether the parameters i have provided to the invoke node are correct.Any help of any sort would be highly appreciated.

  • ActiveX and Word

    All,
    I am in the process of parsing documents and creating a Word 97 document.
    This document only contains a table. I was able to successfully create the
    table,
    change the column widths, and add headers. One of the columns contains comma
    delimited variables. I am trying to select the column and then replace the
    "," with
    . The code snippet below was one of the many attempts to do this:
    err = Word_SelectColumn( tableHandle, 3 );
    err = CA_VariantSetCString( &vtFindText, "," );
    err = CA_VariantSetCString( &vtReplaceWith, "^l" );
    err = CA_VariantSetLong( &vtReplace, WordConst_wdReplaceAll );
    err = CA_VariantSetLong( &vtWrap, WordConst_wdFindStop );
    err = Word_GetProperty( tableHandle, NULL, Word_SelectionFind, CAVT_OB
    JHANDLE,
    &findHandle );
    //Word_FindClearFormatting( findHandle, NULL );
    //Word_ReplacementClearFormatting( findHandle, NULL );
    err = Word_FindExecute( findHandle, NULL, vtFindText, CA_DEFAULT_VAL,
    CA_DEFAULT_VAL,
    CA_DEFAULT_VAL, CA_DEFAULT_VAL, CA_DEFAULT_VAL,
    CA_DEFAULT_VAL, vtWrap, CA_DEFAULT_VAL,
    vtReplaceWith, vtReplace, &status);
    Word_FindExecute expects a Find Obj but the call to Word_GetProperty yields
    an error.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    We do not have an example that will do *exactly* what you need, but you should
    find an ActiveX example program, either in the CVI samples folder or on the
    Example Programs Database, that illustrates how to print a document in Word.
    The function you will need to call that actually invokes the print method
    is Word_DocumentPrintOutOld. It's defined in word2000.h; the prototype,
    in case you were curious is:
    HRESULT CVIFUNC Word_DocumentPrintOutOld (CAObjHandle objectHandle,
    ERRORINFO *errorInfo,
    VARIANT background, VARIANT append,
    VARIANT range, VARIANT outputFileName,
    VARIANT from, VARIANT to, VARIANT

    VARIANT copies, VARIANT pages,

  • ActiveX and Company Object

    Hi out there!
    First, thank you all for this great article right here:
    [Creating Active X|Re: Creating Active X]
    Now we are close to a perfect running activex-object in SAP close means for example the following problem:
    We have a running addon, which is connected to a running SAP Application. Now we create our Form with an acitveX object. After that we try to give the Company - and the Application-Object to this activex-object, so they can be used by it.
    But there is a .net-remoting problem.
    If we give these objects to the activeX object, the .net-framework convert them into marshalbyrefobjects.
    So we can't use the given objects in that activex-object, cause .net-framework throws error, when trying to use properties of these objects.
    May someone had same experiences?
    Matthias Bergen

    here you have:
    System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException:
    The argument type System.MarshalByRefObject could not be converted to parameter type SAPbobsCOM.Company. System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException:
    This remoting proxy has no channel sink which means either the server has no registered server channels are listening, or the application has no suitable client channel to talk to the server...
    additional information: we add a channel to our activeX control like in the link above mentioned, so may the second part of the message is not a real problem. Or am i wrong?
    any ideas?
