ActiveX error starting Financial Reporting

Hello! Can anyone help me how to solve this problem: when I try to start Financial Reporting Studio I get the message "Run-time error 429. ActiveX can't create object" and Financial Reporting Studio doesn't start. Many thanks in advance! :)

Actually after installing Financial Reporting I left out the step of launching Hyperion Configuration Utility. So after launching it the problem resolved. Thanks a lot!

Workspace Error Running Financial Reports Post HFM Metadata Change

We recently updated the metadata in HFM to use the Custom4 dimention. We are now trying to run reports from Workspace and get an error 5200 - error executing query. I have confirmed that the database connection in Workspace is ok. I am able to run the reports from the Financial Reporting Studio. Any ideas what's wrong when running from Workspace?

That error means that the report is trying to retrieve data from a member that either does not exist or is not valid. I have seen it happen when the user POV chooses [Year] for period.
I would start by trying to get the report to run from Report Studio where you can control the POV settings. If you still get the error, you will need to go through every data point in the report and verify that each member exists.

Conditional Suppression error in Financial Reporting

Hello all,
I'm having trouble with the conditional suppression. I have a Financial Reporting report that shows the top 10 customers. The Customer Dimension are the rows. The First column contains the Sales. So, I have a 2nd column that uses the rank function. I then use conditional suppression to suppress the rows where the value in the rank column exceeds 10. I have the Organization Dimension as a Page dimension using a prompt. If I run the report with the default prompt value ( or just select 1 different member from the prompt) , the report works perfectly. However, if I select multiple members from the prompt and run the report, only the rows on the first page get suppressed. The rows on the subsequent pages (for the other selected Organization dimension members from the prompt) do not get suppressed. Does anyone have a workaround for this problem? Please let me know.

Error starting XL reporter

Hi All,
I have recently upgraded my excel from 2003 to 2007. The excel reporter was working fine. After the upgrade when I am generating the reports the system shows an error
An error occured during the process "Report Initialize" Description:666 error. Unable to get document
Type 22
Cause: Automation Error
XL Reporter start up failed
In the system message log I find the error messages
Executing automatic Add-ons
Failed to find local registration file for add-on
Please suggest what to do? How to resolve this problem?

Re-installing XL Reporter should solve the issue.
Please note if you are using SAP Business One 2007 you should proceed as follows,
since from version 2007 the XL reporter is part of the core product:
1) Uninstall SAP Business One client.
2) Install SAP Business One Client from your current patch level or from
\\B1 Servername\b1_shr

We have an ASO cube and the outline is as follows :

In the report we need last months YTD actual on the POV that was selected, so this is how it is done:

criteria 1: Relative to Current Point of View for Time Period offset by -1
criteria 2 : YTD Actual
The issue is that as soon as the report run and the POV is selected to Year Total or Time Period we get a Memberrange error.
Any help would be appreciated !

No I am not using the Range function anywhere!! Not in Essbase or in Reports.
When I select Year Total Get a different error now :

PDF Error with Financial Reporting

When a user runs a report in Workspace it comes up fine, but when they try to do a PDF preview, we get an 500-Internal Server error. I think this is because the PDF writer was not installed or not installed correctly.
Is it possible to set this up after reports is up and functioning without reinstalling?

Error starting Crystal Reports 2013 - After install

today i tried to install CR 2013 on Server 2008 R2 x64 (SBS2011), the installation works fine, but starting CR is not possible.

Resolution
Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package security update from Microsoft Download Center
Install the downloaded security update vcredist_x86.exe
Restart the machine

Is Hyperion Financial Report 11.1.1.3 compatible on Windows 7 x64 VM?

Does anyone have any luck running Oracle Reports 11g in Windows 7?
I installed WLS server (10.3.2) successfully.
I installed OFM (11.1.1.2) successfully.
Started Oracle Forms 11g successfully. Able to connect to Oracle database and created a form.

Problem fixed. It was a folder security with Windows 7. When setting folder security on the root folder, it did not cascade to all the subfolders, even checked off the "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object". After searching many folders, the "oracle_common" folder was access is denied. Granted permission to this folder, and able to start Oracle Reports with no errors (without to run as Admin).

Financial Reporting Web Server can't find report server.

Hi all,
I've installed Financial reporting print server, report server, and scheduler on a separate server from the Web Server installed with Workspace. I can create and run a report with FR Studio and have saved it to the Workspace server.
When I run the report on the Workspace server I get the following error:
Your Financial Reporting Web Server is unable to locate the report server server1.na.ds.monsanto.com:8299. Please contact your administrator.

I have the same configuration on two other servers and things are working fine. How do I tell the Web Server (server1) where the report server is. Why is it looking on the server1 server?

I've run the configuration utility on the server where I have installed the report server and compared it to the report server that works. I looks like logically I have things set up correctly.
The "Configure Financial Reporting" asks me where the "Workspace Web Application" is and that is set correctly and is working because I can get into studio and connect to the report server it lets me design and run and save the report. Studio saves the report to the correct workspace server so I know FR knows about the workspace server.
I ran the config utility on the Workspace web server and selected "Configure Web Server". The second screen lists all of the components and "Financial Reporting" is one of the components. This is also set up logically identically to the server pair that is working. All of the components are set up on the web server to point at the web server.
So I still don't understand how to tell workspace to look at the report server. The report server is finding the workspaces web server just fine.
All services are up and running.

Hyperion Financial Reports Studio - Activex error 429

Greetings Everyone,
I have recently installed Hyperion Financial Reports Studio 11.1.2.1 on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine using the standalone installer (FinancialReportingStudio.exe)
After the install, when attempting to launch the client we get the classic run-time error 429 for active x.
I've had this problem before in previous engagements, and the solution was to run the config utility on the computer and the error would then go away. The problem is that the standalone installer does not seem to setup/install the configuration utility on the client PC.
Any suggestions on how to solve the problem? Already tried running the HRrunant.bat and that didn't help.
