ActiveX warnings in IE7 and with Mozilla, no warnings but layout and text is somewhat messed up

I made a website and I haven't got it on a server yet.
However, when testing it out on Internet Explorer 7, a warning
comes up of ActiveX and running scripts, etc.-->How do I get rid
of this so my end-user is not scared off by my site. Also, for some
reason, when viewing my site in Mozilla Firefox, no such warning
appears (which is good)..However, the site does not look the same
(nor as good) as it does when viewing it in Internet Explorer 7.
When viewing with Mozilla, some of the text fonts are screwed up
and some of the paragraph layouts are wrong. Can anybody help me
with these problems or direct me to the right location? Also, whom
would you recommend, both in terms of price and quality, to as a
host for my web page. I would appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks,
Reuven

  • I often rely on my Norton Toolbar for sites, and it does not work with the new updates. Can I uninstall recent Mozilla updates until this add-on works with Mozilla, or am I stuck? Thanks!

It's probably really easy to figure this out and uninstall the updates but, well, I'm slightly tech-illiterate! I use my Norton Toolbar a lot for those sites I visit infrequently, and this non-compatibility issue is the same reason I stick with Mozilla over Chrome, but now I can't even use my Norton information with Mozilla. Thanks.

  • Embed tag is not working with Mozilla Firefox 23, 24 and 25

    Requirement:
While loading the java applet on a page, if the user system do not have plugin loaded then our code should redirect the user to get Java 1.6 plugin.
At present I am using below two URL for automatically JRE6 download
    • IE : https://java.sun.com/update/1.6.0/jinstall-6-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,6,0,31<br />
[When user tries to access the applet page from IE browser then he/she is getting pop-up message for JRE6 installation, provided that the user system don’t have any JRE installed]. This scenario is working IE8,9,10<br />
    • Mozilla family : https://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=60336
Below is the used script for ‘Object’ and ‘embed’ tag:
    <pre><nowiki><script language="javascript" >

    </script></nowiki></pre>
User is getting pop-up message for JRE6 installation with browser IE8, 9, and 10 and also with Mozilla Firefox 22, but it’s failing with latest version of Mozilla Firefox23,24 and 25.
I have gone through so many sites but could find any reason for this behavior.
I have provided JRE6 32-bit version download URL, here I don’t think so I’m doing any version incompatibility because both the JRE6 and Mozilla Firefox are 32-bit version. And 64 bit Firefox version is not available for windows.
I’m not sure why the code is working with Firefox 22 and its lower version but
doesn’t work with higher version than firefox22….like 23,24,25
Can anyone help to sort out this issue?
    Thanks, <br />
    Sumit

Sorry for the delay in getting an answer, yesterday was a holiday in the USA.
This forum is for Firefox user support, not for web developer support. My rough guess is that since Mozilla has blocked all but the most recent update for Java 7 Plugins - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/ - and Firefox 23 brought in a new '''Simplified interface for notifications of plugin installation''' - http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/23.0/releasenotes/ - that is probably why you're having a problem with versions of Firefox after Firefox 22.
Try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page development issues with Firefox. <br />

  • Why AS10g Forms Applet don´t start with IE7 and SUN Java???

    Hi @ all,
since two days i am really confused about this strange behaviour of internet explorer 7 with the Sun JRE 1.5.0_15.
Running our forms with Mozilla Firefox 3.x works fine with Sun JRE, but with IE7 the applet doesn´t start.
I don´t get any error messages. The only thing I can see is that the java console is not appearing, but I don´t think that my java installation is corrupted or something is configured wrong because other java applets from several homepages are working without problems ( and the java console is appearing ).
I read about the archive_ie parameter and I tried it but there were no changes in the behaviour of IE7.
    best regards
    Thomas

    Hi userwhat,
Your personal data should have been saved, and you can try to follow these steps to fix your problem.
*First, you should report that to the developer of the add-on the troubles that you are experiencing.
    * Then, you can try [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ The Add-on Compatibility Reporter], which allows you to use add-ons that haven't yet been explicitly updated to work with Firefox 5, and lets you report the results of compatibility.
    * For add-ons that do not work with The Add-on Compatibility Reporter, you can still downgrade to the previously maintained version, which is Firefox 3.6 that you can download here: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]

  • Forms 10.1.2.0.2 application with ie7 and Jvm 1.5_11 unstable.

    Hi,
We are running a 10.1.2.0.2 forms application, using the sun jvm, version 1.5.0_11-b03 .
Since we started using IE7, some users experience sudden "hangs" or a total crash of IE& + JVM when starting the application. A log file appears with the following code:

Now I know that the used combination of the forms version 10.1.2.0.2. + JVM 1.5_11 + IE7 is not certifed by Oracle, but that doesn't really say much..it just means that the combination has not been tested.
So does anybody have an idea what is causing this problem? Should we upgrade to Jvm 1.5_13, or even 1.6?
    regards,
    Andrik Eker

If you insist on staying with JRE 1.5, you should use at least 1.5.0_12. All previous version had too many bugs to really be usable.
There's another big problem with your setup - you are still running the base version 10.1.2.0.2 of Forms. You should upgrade to the latest patch 10.1.2.3 ASAP - a ton of issues has been fixed since the base release.
Regarding the JRE - with the latest 1.6.0_13, there's not really any good reason to stay on 1.5 anymore, even though it's still supported. However, you MUST upgrade Forms to 10.1.2.3 to use JRE 1.6.
    Hope this helps,
    Jacob

  • Whenever I have a pdf document open, and then switch to another tab to view another webpage, the scrolling function on the touchpad will not work. This seems to be a glitch with Mozilla, according to Dell. How do I fix this?

When I open a pdf document (like an E-version of a newspaper) in Mozilla and then switch to another tab to view another webpage, I am unable to use the scrolling function on the touchpad. I have to use the up and down arrows to get other pages to scroll. When I close that pdf document, everything works fine. I talked with customer support with Dell, and he said it was probably a glitch with Mozilla. So I tried to do the same thing on IE, and there was no problem scrolling with the touchpad while a pdf document was open on another tab. I would like to get a fix for this so I don't have to keep closing open pdf documents in order to scroll with the touchpad while on other tabs. Thank you

And what is the point of all this? CS3 is now 7 years old and Office 2003 just the same. Yes, sometimes software has bugs and compatibility issues. Beyond there is nothing here to discuss on either end, given the circumstances...

  • Adobe Flash cannot download with Mozilla Firefox 35 and Firefox 35.0.1

Adobe Flash cannot be downloaded with Mozilla Firefox 35 and Firefox 35.0.1.
I cannot seems to download any Adobe Flash on Windows 10 Technical Preview Enterprise version 9926!
I already feedback the matter to Firefox and still have no valid reply from Mozilla.
Even I disable the Firefox blocking content. It still cannot get thru to Adobe Flash to download.

    Hello ZigZag,
I did have disable the blocking content. Still it doesn't work. This is a problem that I face right now.
I have submitted this problem to Mozilla Firefox team.
I did not have any issues with Windows 8.1 with the same browser version Firefox 35.
It having issues on Windows 10 build 9926.
So it is either Windows 10 is having issues or Firefox or Adobe itself.
    Either one of it.
I submitted the issues to both Firefox and Adobe for this matter. Right until now I have no reply from them.
For your info, this laptop cannot download any Windows Build updates...
I have to download the new build ISO manually. I wonder why I cannot get the new release of prebuild updates from Microsoft. Makes me wonder all the time. Why I cannot do any updates!
Formatted the hard disk and do a clean install of Windows 10 beta build 9926.

You could use firefox 3.6, which is old but still supported and secure. However the best solution is to give up on using Google Toolbar because Google no longer support it with firefox, mainly because it has little to offer.
You can still save google bookmarks by copying them into Firefox. Please have a look at
    * [[google Toolbar is not compatible with Firefox]] <-- clickable link -- <br> which may help with some ideas and proposed solutions.
I am hoping the Norton report you refer to merely says your system has vulnerabilities, rather than that it has an actual infection (or that it has dealt with or quarantined any malware).
