Activity Journal on Transaction

I have created a new Activity Journal Template Type and Activity Journal Template. This was assigned to Activity Type (Transaction Type - 0020 "Business Activity for Products"). The system determined the Activity Journal.
However, then i copied this Transaction Type and created a "Z" transaction and followed the same process for creating Activity Journal. However, the system is unable to determine the Activity Journal.
Any idea or help?

Requirements
If you have created an activity journal with a template and template type in CRM Mobile, and wish to upload it to CRM Enterprise, you should note the following:
In CRM  Enterprise, you need to use a transaction type with the item categories ACT0, ACT1 and ACT, in order to use activity journals in the system. It is important that you assign all three item categories to the transaction type. If you do not use these item categories, the Activity Journal tab page will not appear on the interface or you will not be able to use specific fields in the activity journal.
The following item categories are delivered with the standard configuration, and are already assigned to the standard transaction type, Activity with Products (0020) for activity journals. If you wish to use another transaction type, you need to assign the following three item categories to it:
ACT0: the sample has been returned by the physician
This corresponds to the Returns field in the activity journal. This field appears in the activity journal template type wizard by default, regardless of whether this item category is assigned. However, you can only use the Returns field in the activity journal itself if the item category has been assigned.
ACT1: the customer, for example, the doctor, has requested more samples, and the sales representative did not have them. The sales representative then requests that backoffice sends the samples.
This corresponds to the Request field in the activity journal. The same applies as for the above item category, ACT0.
ACT: default item category if the above two categories are not applicable, for example, if the samples were given to the physician or were discussed, and no samples were returned or requested.

    From your link I looked from Activity Journal for CRM 4.0SR1 (true I forgot to mention the version before) and got this link :

    Unfortunately, it doesn't tell about Template Type modification, because for me the fields in the tile are in gray, and not modifiable (-> ReadOnly). I tried also in another environment, the same 'problem' occurs (note that I haven't tried yet to create a new template type).
    Maybe the maintenance can be done via CRM, what do you think of it ?

  • Combo box in activity journal reporting

    Hi!
    I have made settings in IMG -> Customer relationship management -> transactions -> Activity Journal -> Industry-Specific Fields. So instead of upside, downside etc it is now only a yes/no field.
    This works fine on the CRM server. But I want to have theses entries on the mobile client. I tried to download some adapter-objects with transaction R3AS4 but no success.
    Do someone know the adpater-object or is it working completely different in this case?

    The first issue is resolved with Fixpack 1.  You can find the download here:

    It is possible that issue #2 will be resolved with FP1. I'd recommend testing the behavior after applying the fixpack.
    If you still see the problem, then just to clarify issue #2, let me know I have understood correctly:
    1. Department web service: refreshes on load, returns list of Depts to SWF
    2. Sales web service: refreshes on load, returns total sales for selected Dept in Combo Box.
    3. Initializing the SWF file will update the Department list, but sales are blank
    4. Once Dept is populated, this should insert the first Dept name into the Sales param to trigger the Sales query
    5. Sales does not fire and no data is returned
    6. Manual selection of the Dept name combo box then triggers the Sales query to fire
    7. Data is returned.

  • Activity Journal - Creation of template type and template

    Hello Experts,
    we need to create a template type and template because we can not use the standard template to see product information in the Activity Journal.
    Where in Customizing can i define template type and template and which are the steps to do it. For our activity journal we need to see only the fields:
    1. Product ID
    2. Product
    3. Notes
    The rest of the information is not necesary. The SAP Note 1261860 describes exactly the problem we have but we are not able to generate template and template type.

    Hi there
    For generation of template for Activity so that you can see the Product info,u just need to generate the Index in SPRO
    Go to IMG and there within the transaction types you can locate the index i am speaking about to generate.
    Here is the path-->IMG->CRM--->Transaction ->Basic Settings->Settings for Activites->Activity Journal--->Activity Standard Template Type
    Here you give your desired language in which you want your template to be created.
    As soon as you genarte that you will be having product info on your Activity screen
    See this arrangement is client specific only so if you are say in sandbox or dev or qual or prod.u need to do this setting  seperately in each client.

    1.Create activity journal template type (Using Wizard)at easy access -> Activities-> maintian activity journal template type
    2.Create activity Journal template (Using Wizard) at easy access -> Activities-> maintian activity journal template
    3.Item category determination for the transaction type in SPRo
    4.Open the activity check the activity journal.

    We define Start date & End date for a Activity Journal Template type.
    Activity Journal Template is a time dependent.

    We are looking at implementing a process to record when our customers call in with product issues.   Can someone please tell me if it is better to use the Activity transaction with the activity journal for products or use the Compalaint transaction?   What is the benefit for each?

    I guess that using activity journals there is a much better integration to BI - how many customers did have problems with which products.
    But using complaints this would be the "normal" way. This is a standard service process which supports follow-up processing like credit memo or service orders for replacing respectively repairing objects.
    Also in activity journals there you don't have any FI-CO integration which you will have for complaints.

    I am attaching a screen shot for your reference, the first screen shot pertains to attaching the product code in the activity journal assignment block
    The second screen shot pertains to entering the material code
    I need to know the table link between the activity number and the product id, the above tables which you gave do not store the product details, hence please advice further.

    Can someone please advise how to replicate AJs to mobile. Created an Activity Journal Template Type, assigned a Template, released it and I'm able to see the Activity Journal in the Maintain Activities transaction in CRM-Online, using the corresponding Transaction Type of MSA. But when I download the activity to mobile, I cannot see it attached to the activity.

    did you already check the local IDES database - table smodotdef?
    Anyway there were lots of filters valid for displaying journals along with activities, e.g.:
    - validity date (check activity date!)
    - process type (must fit with activity type)
    - distribution channel defined for template (check distribution channel of activity e.g. from related business partner)

    I have problem with copying products from Activity Journal in Activity to follow-up activity (also to AJ).
    I configured items copying, documents type copying, determination of item categories while copying,
    and no products are copied from one activity to follow-up.
    Can you tell how to do it?

    that is because you are now creating your activity using follow up utility
    try using actions and in action profile use processing type as method_call
    there use parameter copy_document
    and therein you create a container
    and give initial, value inside it as the follow up transaction type you want to create from original transaction
    then attach this action profile to your transaction
    and in SPRO also do the copy control by mat ching the source and destination for copying the irem level categories
    you can either create your Z action or use standrad action called Business activity
    this will do what you want to do

    Hello .
    In CRM 7.0 we decided to use Activity Journal / Products in order to track products on activities . Working well .
    We want to load some activities from an external system (Excel files,.... ) , can we use a standard SAP RFC/BADI or other technique in order to populate the Activity Journal and Products when we load the activities .

    Hi All,
    I am trying to map the Activity Journal tab in the activity using the bapi BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CHANGEMULTI and the parmeter journal .But i could find only very less feilds in this structure.
    It will be great if some one could through some light into this on how to map this parameter.
    I am able to trigger other parameters like status , text and date.

    Hi Raviraj,
    Try using the Function module - CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN. You need to pass the CHANGING parameter - CT_INPUT_FIELDS. This should contain all the fields that you want to change.
    After this you need to call the FM - CRM_ORDER_SAVE and then call the BAPI_TRANSACION_COMMIT.

    I have a problem in Activity journal in CRM Activities.In activity Journal I created template type and template and also I maitained field selection as REMARKS in attributes tab page of the template type.Now I want to maintain one more field in attribute tab page of the template type.I tried to maintain the another field in field selection but I am unable to maintain another field.Can anybody help me out to solve this problem.Thank you.

  • Authorization for creating activity journal template

    I have log on with salespro role in CRM 7.0.When I try to click the link in UI for creating activity journal template.
    It said that I don't have authorization.
    Could I ask where to control this authorization?
    I thought this should include in the authorization for salespro.
