Activity Journals Type modification with CRM : which transaction

Was before How can I manage SMODOTDEF and SMODOTATT ?
Please see from post #4
Hello !
I have a problem with the data stored in SMODOTATT (Documentation: Used Fields per Documentation type), related to SMODOTDEF (Documentation Type Definition).
Where can I manage the Documentation Type, via an application (MSA/MSY) or a transaction ?
Thanks and regards,
François

Hi Vadim,
From your link I looked from Activity Journal for CRM 4.0SR1 (true I forgot to mention the version before) and got this link :
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm40sr1/helpdata/en/af/3ab23af01b4521e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Unfortunately, it doesn't tell about Template Type modification, because for me the fields in the tile are in gray, and not modifiable (-> ReadOnly). I tried also in another environment, the same 'problem' occurs (note that I haven't tried yet to create a new template type).
Maybe the maintenance can be done via CRM, what do you think of it ?

François

  • Activity Journal - Creation of template type and template

    Hello Experts,
we need to create a template type and template because we can not use the standard template to see product information in the Activity Journal.
Where in Customizing can i define template type and template and which are the steps to do it. For our activity journal we need to see only the fields:
    1. Product ID
    2. Product
    3. Notes
The rest of the information is not necesary. The SAP Note 1261860 describes exactly the problem we have but we are not able to generate template and template type.
    Best Regards

    Hi there
For generation of template for Activity so that you can see the Product info,u just need to generate the Index in SPRO
Go to IMG and there within the transaction types you can locate the index i am speaking about to generate.
    Here is the path-->IMG->CRM--->Transaction ->Basic Settings->Settings for Activites->Activity Journal--->Activity Standard Template Type
Here you give your desired language in which you want your template to be created.
As soon as you genarte that you will be having product info on your Activity screen
See this arrangement is client specific only so if you are say in sandbox or dev or qual or prod.u need to do this setting  seperately in each client.
Hope you got what i said.
    Cheers

  • Activity Journal on Transaction

I have created a new Activity Journal Template Type and Activity Journal Template. This was assigned to Activity Type (Transaction Type - 0020 "Business Activity for Products"). The system determined the Activity Journal.
However, then i copied this Transaction Type and created a "Z" transaction and followed the same process for creating Activity Journal. However, the system is unable to determine the Activity Journal.
    Any idea or help?

    Hello Jaideep,
Refer to SPRO path SPRO>CRM>Transactions>Settings for Activities>Activity Journal..
    Settings for Activity Journal
    Use
Item categories required for activitiy journals
    Requirements
If you have created an activity journal with a template and template type in CRM Mobile, and wish to upload it to CRM Enterprise, you should note the following:
In CRM  Enterprise, you need to use a transaction type with the item categories ACT0, ACT1 and ACT, in order to use activity journals in the system. It is important that you assign all three item categories to the transaction type. If you do not use these item categories, the Activity Journal tab page will not appear on the interface or you will not be able to use specific fields in the activity journal.
The following item categories are delivered with the standard configuration, and are already assigned to the standard transaction type, Activity with Products (0020) for activity journals. If you wish to use another transaction type, you need to assign the following three item categories to it:
ACT0: the sample has been returned by the physician
This corresponds to the Returns field in the activity journal. This field appears in the activity journal template type wizard by default, regardless of whether this item category is assigned. However, you can only use the Returns field in the activity journal itself if the item category has been assigned.
ACT1: the customer, for example, the doctor, has requested more samples, and the sales representative did not have them. The sales representative then requests that backoffice sends the samples.
This corresponds to the Request field in the activity journal. The same applies as for the above item category, ACT0.
ACT: default item category if the above two categories are not applicable, for example, if the samples were given to the physician or were discussed, and no samples were returned or requested.
    Hope this helps!

  • CRM Service Transaction Types availability in ECC table CRMC_SRV_BILL_PR

    Dear experts
I need to customize ECC IMG object CRM_SRV_BILL_MAP (SPRO -> Integration with Other mySAP.com Components -> Customer Relationship Management -> Settings for Service Processes -> Billing Integration -> Map Transaction Types and Item Categories).
This is to map SAP CRM Service Transactions to SAP ECC Sales Orders for triggering Debit/Credit Memos based on Service Orders. However, the table in which CRM Service Transaction Types are stored is empty (CRMC_SRV_BILL_PR) - how to we get the data in there?
For some reason, we have one client where this info is available, in another one it's not. We are not sure whether this might be a download object, or if customizing on ECC side is required?
Thank you in advance for all helpful replies!
    Christian

    Hi,
As far as my knowledge goes in this area, i have worked on this in my previous project with R/3 version being 4.7. We have had to manually maintain the configuration in the table that you are reffering to. So you would need to maintain the document type to be created and also assign the item categories acordingly. You will ofcourse need to configure the document types and item categories that are relevant to create a debit/credit memo in R/3. Also, you will need to map the CRM item categories to the R/3 credit/debit item categories.
    Hope this helps

  • Activating Inspection type with QI stock

    Hi QM Gurus,
I want to activate Inspection Types 01, 05, 08, 09 and 89 for a material. I already have stock for 2 batches for this mateiral in QI. I tried activating Inspection Type 01using t-code QA08. I entered the Plant and Material and ticked 'Assignn Inspection type' and 'Activate despite insp. stock' on the Activate insp. type tab of this transaction but the system gives an error 'Mats. with insp. stock'. I even tried by ticking on the 'Create Change Documents' option but in vain
I also tried the Individual processing and Mass processing tabs of QA08 but faced same issue.
Please tell me how to activate inspection types for this material.
    Regards,
    Manish Saraswat.

    Hi Manish,
Thanks a lot for your inputs. Right now the only Inspection Type which is active for this material is 89. I want to activate 01, 05, 08 and 09. As I said earlier I have stock for 2 batches in QI and there are no Inspection Lots for these batches as no Inspection Types are active.
I checked and found that InspTypeForInspStock doest has any value. Its blank.
Please advise whether the system will allow me to activate the mentioned Inspection Types.
    Regards,
    Manish Saraswat.

  • Activity with Activity Journal vs. Complaint

We are looking at implementing a process to record when our customers call in with product issues.   Can someone please tell me if it is better to use the Activity transaction with the activity journal for products or use the Compalaint transaction?   What is the benefit for each?

    Hi,
I guess that using activity journals there is a much better integration to BI - how many customers did have problems with which products.
But using complaints this would be the "normal" way. This is a standard service process which supports follow-up processing like credit memo or service orders for replacing respectively repairing objects.
Also in activity journals there you don't have any FI-CO integration which you will have for complaints.

  • Activity Journal text types

I would like to know how the different text types are assigned to the products in activity journal.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Actually this is not in CRM 2007 because of the level of usage (of customers) compared to the complexity the UI would have following the WebClient UI paradigm.
This specific feature seems to be very rarely used (I don´t know any customer using that) and therefore was given a lower priority. Maybe replying "SAP is looking into it" is not reflecting it correctly as we still have this function on our laundry list.
Do/Did you use this function in CRM 5.0. Does anyone else use that function?
Just let me know either by e-mail oder in this thread.
    cheers

Yes the phone belongs to me. It was purchased from United Kingdom Vodafone to West Africa, i had to factory unlock to use any sim in it. so it belongs to me. I did the activation myself, now after updating my iphone to the latest update, it required a user id and password to activate the phone, but anytime i enter the details, it tells me the user Id is not correct but the password is correct..

  • Assigning the SAP CRM 7sales transaction type to view in WEB UI?

    Hi CRM Experts,
Can anyone show me th path or TCode, where the Business transaction types (Leads, Quotation and orders) are assigned in the backend of SAP CRM to reflect the same in the front end i.e.,  WEB UI?
    Would appreciate responding  ASAP.
    Regards
    Succhi

Yes, as Jan said, this is done in basic customaziong of transaction types under spro>crm>transactions>basic settings>define transaction types. There you define for each transaction type the Transaction Category that it is using. Like for lead it is BUS2000108, for opportunity it is BUS2000111 and for quotations and orders it is BUS2000115. Quotations and orders have the same transaction category but then it depends on the customization of item categories that are assigned to the transaction type if they behave as order or as quotation.

  • Points before taking backup of R3 which is integrated with CRM

    Dear Experts,
We have integrated SAP R3 with SAP CRM 6.0.
We are planning to take a backup of Production system(of R3) and load the Master Data into Quality system of R3 (System Refresh).
As we have integrated R3 with CRM , we feel that the system refresh will create issues in CRM system (like large number of inbound queues, GUID errors etc.)
Please share your thoughts and experiences before performing the system refresh/backup.
Also, please provide the necessary steps to be carried out before taking backup of R3 system in an CRM integrated scenario.
    Thanks,
    Techie

    Hi
I am working to create a strategy to backup and restore the productive systems ERP and CRM,  they replicate all BP information.  Do you found information about the points before taking backup of ERP which is integrated with CRM?
    Thanks,

  • Activation of VMC in SAP CRM

    Hello Experts,
I have a requirement to setup system for usage of CRM products (CRM 7.0 Ehp 3). Products were setup for product type= material. But when I try to create opportunity or quotation with these products, short dump displays saying that VMC in not activated. Actually VMC is not activated in the system and  currently we are facing lack of Basis experts, so VMC activation should be done by myself. But I'm new in Basis tasks and in connection with this I have following questions. Can You please clarify?
    1. Does VMC always need to be activated when we are using CRM products (setup as standalone)? I understand, that VMC needed for pricing configuration (IPC) in case of standalone system, but currently I urgently need to configure business scenarios without pricing, just for presentative purposes, so does anybody know, how to setup products which will bypass VMC?
    2. If there is no workaround for VMC activation, I need some help from basis perspective... I have read 854170 note, here is a quote:
"You can activate the VM Container using the profile parameters mentioned below, which can be changed using profile maintenance (transaction RZ10). Once you have made the change, you need to restart the server instance."
My question is - how to restart server instance? As I mentioned I'm facing lack of basis experts in my team, so can anybody guide me in this question.
Thank you very much. I will be highly appreciated for providing answers for both questions.
    Regards, Denis

    Hi,
    see note 863354 & 854170.
you will need to activate it if you have process involving pricing and web channel ecommerce.

2.Create activity Journal template (Using Wizard) at easy access -> Activities-> maintian activity journal template
