Activity Sequence

Hi Experts,
In SM58, we are getting : Activity sequence for customs procedure 02 cannot be determined.
We are doing Invoices and currently we are getting the above error.
Any ideas?

Hi Naga,
try this in SPRO (IMG)-->SAP Global Trade Services  General Settings  Legal Regulations  Define Determination Procedure for Active Legal Regulations

• Failover, SO activation sequence and Log

Hi
Wud u please clarify my following doubts :-
1. Failover
If a partition carries 3 failover service objects-. A, B & C - and if service object A fails, I
believe that the whole partition in replicated and reinstantiated. If so what happens to the
non-failed objects in old partition and the newly created clones of those objects in new partition?
Which one wud be used while referenced ?
My unerstanding is that it manages failover by partition than by objects so that failed partiton is
activated on some other assigned nodes.
2. Service object activation sequence
How the activation sequence of service objects are determined ? I have a strange problem. One of my
service object (in its init method) try invoking a method on another service object; but gives
"Attempt to invoke a method on a NIL object" exception. I inserted a loop above this line as
DO WHILE thisSO = NIL THEN
END DO;
flag = thisSO.GetStatus();
Still the exception occurs. The called service object reads from a flat file to populate its data
members. Can I change the activation sequence of service objects ? Both the service objects, talked
about here, belongs to same partition and are of USER visibility type.
3. Partition Log
The partition log generated overwrites the existing file if I specify a file name name using -fl
flag at command line. Is there anyway that I can make it to append to existing log ?

• Exceptions in Activity Sequence

What are those errors? What do they mean? How to trace them?
I have uncought errors handler but do not catch any during runtime.

The Activity Sequence panel shows you all exceptions - not just uncaught ones.
It sounds in this case like you're handling the exceptions already - either in your code, or in whatever frameworks/libraries you're using. This is completely normal, e.g. for I/O operations.

• Just FYI: SAP Determines Activation Sequence by the following...

The Activation Sequence of objects in transports is determined by the sequence of the Values Stored in the Data Dictionary Domain Object "RSTLOGO".

Thanks for sharing. I didnt know about this object before but was sure there has to be a sequence. But for some reason, some of my transports used to fail when I wasnt using a transporting sequence. But thanks for sharing anyway.
Thanks,
Voodi.

• Activity /Sequence Number

Hi! All,
From whcih table we can get the field VORNR (Order/Activity Sequence Number)?
thanks
bekele

Ya... In this case AFVGD is not a table. It is a structure. Was about to reply that.
And VORNR is not only restricted to Table AFVC. It is available in many other Tables like AFRD, AFRU, AFRV, CATSHR and many more. Based on the application you need to select the table.

• Position Activity Sequence Resulting in data extracting error

hi gurus
can any body tell me what is this position activity sequence error resulting in data extracting error, plz help. this is very high priority for me.
regards
dev

I rebuild the report using a tabular form and populated the primary key with a PL/SQL expression and now it appears to be working. P1_ISSUE_NO is the primary key on the issue table and I could not figure how to get it in the issue_no field of the tabular report when a new line was entered I ended up putting the following code in for the default for
issue_no on the report:
Begin
return :P1_ISSUE_NO;
end
It works great.

• How to active Sequence

Dear Expert
I want to use sequence functionality in SAP Business One 2007B.I know the purpose of the Sequence function but i don't know how to active it.when i am using the Sequence window.sequence window is not active and I can not do anything on Sequence

Hi Rajani.
Datta is right. In order to add the sequence you need to press CTRL+I and then you need to add and keep one as set as default......

Any help on creating a Generic logic would help as in future there would be Event sequences added to EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE table

So that was an interesting problem!
I decided to go for a solution where build concatenated lists to compare these. As started to play with it, I realised that there is risk for a scaling problem, so I introduced some optimisations. And it seems that they helped me to find the final solution.
There are two CTEs. The first CTE builds a fixed-width list of the event-name ids for each sequence. I also extract the length and the first value of each sequence.
In the next CTE I find the start of all sequences in the EVENT_NAMECHANGE table. For each row where the the event is the first of a sequence I read as many rows as there are in the sequence and form a fixed-width list of event-name ids. If this list matches
the sequence list, this row is returned from the CTE, together with the count of the sequence.
In the final query, I repeat the CROSS APPLY in the second CTE, but this time without FOR XML to get the actual rows. I need DISTINCT here, since one sequence may include another.
It is of course impossible to test performance without knowledge of the actual table. But is my assumption that EVENT_NAMES and EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE are fairly small table, whereas EVENT_NAMECHANGE is big, maybe 100 millions of rows. Obviously the table has
to be scanned once, but I think performance should be proportional to the number of rows in the table times the length of the longest sequence.
Here is my complete test script.
CREATE TABLE EVENT_NAMES
EVENT_NAME_ID int NOT NULL P,
EVENT_NAME varchar(100)
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAMES values(1,'PM')
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAMES values(2,'PM WASH')
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAMES values(3,'Backlog')
CREATE TABLE EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE
SeqParentKey int,
EVENT_NAME_ID int,
SeqOrder int
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE values(1,2,1)
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE values(1,1,2)
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE values(1,3,3)
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE values(2,1,1)
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAME_SEQUENCE values(2,3,2)
CREATE TABLE EVENT_NAMECHANGE
EQMT varchar(100),
EVENT_NAME varchar(100),
STARTTIME DATETIME,
ENDTIME DATETIME
INSERT INTO EVENT_NAMECHANGE VALUES('MACH_101','PM WASH','2014-01-01 10:00:00.000','2014-01-01 11:00:00.000')

• Button Activation Sequence.

Hi Everyone,
I am creating a program which controls a voice coil controller. In the program, I have a series of buttons that need to be pressed in a specific order, in order for the controller to operate correctly. Various users will be using this program so it's imperative that they are used in the correct order to prevent controller malfunction. I was wondering if there was a way, for when the program starts, all of the buttons except one be disabled. Once that first button is clicked, a second one becomes enabled, and so on.. until they all have been clicked in the right order. Finally, when a stop or reset button is clicked, the initial state of only one button active becomes true. I have attached the project if anyone would like to view the GUI. "Updated GUI Fretter" is the program and the "Test Control" tab is the one I am referring to. I'd initially like the "Download Program" button to be active, then once that is clicked, "set home position" becomes available for use, and so on to the right.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to make this function are greatly appreciated.

I take it back. Event structure is just what you need:

When I create a new project the program continues to run until I select a sequence by double clicking on it. Then the program crashes.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with a Intel Core i7-2820QM 2.30GHz 16GB of RAM and an Nvidia Geforce GTX 560M graphics card. Once the problem occured I updated my driver version yet the problem still remains.
I have selveral projects due very soon soI appreciate any help you can give me! Even if it just a point in the right direction.

Ann, THANKS for replying!
If I open a brand new project, which I could do before, and then IMPORT a previous project, it works and I can edit and export the project. However, it did crash upon trying to save it and I still can not just open a previously created project. When I do I get an error message that Says: "Premiere has encountered an error and needs to close down. We will attempt to save your project."
Do you or anyone else have any ideas?

• Re: Failover, SO activation sequence and Log

Ok. I was dozing. I was thinking "parition" when you were saying "node". We currently have just one production box, so I don't think like that yet. :)

Hi,
The only reason I thought that Node2 should be less powerfull was that I consider that a backup box should be less powerfull (less expensive!), with less memory for instance.
Daniel Nguyen
Freelance Forte Consultant
Url : http://perso.club-internet.fr/dnguyen/
Steven Barnes a écrit:
We have had extensive problems with Forte's Failover scheme & our fledgling WAN. Say we have a partition with 1 SO (mostly events) replicates for failover with 2 counts. Due to communication burps, the client sometimes can't see the first replicate (doesn't throw any DistributedAccessExceptions (that I can see)), & starts talking to the second replicate. Now we have the scenario Daniel described below where half your clients could be talking to 1 replicate & the other half talking to the second one.
I'm curious why "you can imagine that Node 2 is only a back-up node (less powerful than Node 1)." Why? They are both started at the same time, have the exact same code, so they are essentially just different instances of the same object. The only thing that may make it less powerful, is if you start replicate 1 with certain memory flags, and start #2 with less memory (why, I have no idea).
So, due to our rather unstable WAN, at this point, we have stopped setting up that partition for failover. It was causing more problems, than it was helping. (unless someone can tell me how a client can suddenly switch from using #1 to #2 & I have no Events or Exceptions thrown?)
Ok. I'm done rambling & I'm going back to sleep now.

Hi,
1. Failover
As far as I know (and can imagine), on most cases you are right, because the main cause would be that your replicate (or your node) has shut down. But, the real mechanism should be a little more complex.
The fail-over should be detected with a DistributedAccessException received by the caller. So if you have Partition 1 with 2 Service Objects with some network problems : you could call Service 1 without success on replicate 1 (because of network time outs), Forte could start to give you the new reference for Service 1 on Replicate 2, then you call Service 2 with success (network is now available) on Replicate 1 because you still have the Service 2 reference on the Replicate 1 in the caller partition (you did not ask the name server a new reference). As far as I tested, it could happen : you can stop the name server, if your partition has already resolved the names (Services references), your application will still work; only new client partitions will have an error.
So, I guess that fail-over has been imagined more for Partition, node shut down. One other point : on a single node, auto-start should be more efficient because it will be dynamic and not limited to a fixed number of replicate.
An other case should not be forgotten : when you hit to Replicate 2 on Node 2, due to fail over, you can imagine that Node 2 is only a back-up node (less powerfull than Node 1). You restart the Node 1 and Replicate 1. You would like to use Replicate 1 on Node 1 then. Forte will not do the work for you. You will need to release connections from your Service Objects to resolve once more the Names from your name server. If you don't do it, new clients may use Node 1 Replicate 1 and old clients Node 2 Replicate 2 also.

• Sequence of Activities & Divestiture

Our 4.0 implementation uses the default COI sequence of activities below:
Seq # Act. Activity text Stop here
1 01 First Consolidation
2 16 Horizontal Merger
3 04 Amortization of Fair Value Adjustments
4 05 Increase in Capitalization
5 06 Reduction in Capitalization
6 07 Step Acquisition
7 08 Partial Transfer
8 09 Total Transfer
9 17 Vertical Merger
10 10 Partial Divestiture X
11 11 Total Divestiture
12 12 Liquidation
13 13 Reclassification of Treasury Stock
14 14 Amortization of Investment
15 15 Writeup of Investment
16 02 Subsequent Consolidation
17 03 Amortization of Goodwill
18 18 Distribution of Dividends
When we recorded an end-of-period total divestiture (via AFD), the COI log does the following:
1. Partial divestiture from 100% to 0% - reversing first consolidation elimination of investment, recording 100% to minority interest balance sheet, and recording gains
2. Subsequent consolidation – because ownership is now considered 100% the entire earnings for the period of divestiture is recorded as minority interest
3. Total divestiture – reversing first consolidation elimination of equity, reversing minority interest balance sheet from partial divestiture above, and gain for earnings of period of divestiture
What bothers me is that subsequent earnings recoded 100% minority interest. Why would this occur when the divestiture is at the end of the period per the master data? Should the activity sequence number for subsequent consolidation change to a number lower that for partial and total divestiture, but remain after the Stop? If so what are the consequences?
The only other alternative I can think of is to leave the activity sequence alone and record the divestiture at the beginning of the next period.
Any help with this is appreciated.

Dan,
Been looking at this myself these last few days. I know conventional wisdom is to not touch the sequence, but I can't see the delivered sequence working correctly (ever) in the case of divestitures if there is activity in the period. As discussed, perhaps this is what makes people chose the DABP option.
In addition to your case with the M/I due to the subsequent consolidation, if you were to issue a dividend in the period of divestiture that dividend income would be reclassed to minority interest as well.
My solution on the dividends to was to bring the activity above the partial transfer step, with the reasoning that in the event of a transfer you would be dividending to the old parent, not the new parent. Testing so far of our likely C/I activites seems to work with the sequence as desired.
For the subsequent consolidation I'm also having issues that we've PL30 topsided around, but I wouldn't want to do that in a transfer because of the income statement adjustments that would be necessary and the statistical account impact. In a future total divestiture activity, the gain/lose would be incorrectly calculated unless I got those statistical balances spot on to agree with the manual PL30.
I suspect the subsequent consolidation should be after the total transfer or vertical merger, with the reasoning that this activity should be performed in the new parent (err...cons group) in this case. Haven't had a chance to test all our likely activities with this scenario, but will probably need a solution real soon.
I'm familiar w/ this note on the topic, wihch is essentially the help.sap.com documentation in a little more technical detail:
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/698955
But I'm not aware of any other documentation on the subject.
Finally....I remember when I took the SEM240 class a while ago they harped on not touching the default sequence, but those of us in the room with a live implementation had all changed from the default sequence.
Anyway...I don't really have a question or helpful info. Just surprised there's nothing more on the topic.

• Display Current Sequence Frame?

I'm trying to output the current/active sequence frame to a front
panel indicator. Is there a direct way to hook into the sequence
structure indicator, or will I have to stich a increment function
throughout all the frames with multiple sequence locals. It would be
nice to be able to programatically access the sequence structure's
total frame count and current frame for use as a program progress
indicator.

You could replace the Sequence structure with a Case inside a While loop. Wire the iteration of the While loop to the Case selector and to the terminal for the front panel indicator. Each case represents one frame in the Sequence. Each case will have a boolean constant wired to the Continue terminal of the While loop: in each case but the last, the constant will be True; in the last case it will be False.
Sorry this isn't the simple answer you were looking for. This approach also works well if you have a sequence which you normally execute end-to-end, but, for some conditions, you may want to end the sequence early. Then just replace the boolean constant with a boolean expression within each case that determines whether or not to continue based on the events i
n that case.

• SNASw XID protocol error during activation

Hello forum,
we have a cisco 7204 snasw enabled connected to 2 OSA. The configuration is as:
source-bridge ring-group 2100
dlsw local-peer peer-id 10.201.254.210 promiscuous
dlsw prom-peer-defaults tcp-queue-max 150
interface Loopback0
ip address 10.201.254.210 255.255.255.255
interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address 10.211.7.2 255.255.255.0
duplex full
speed 100
interface FastEthernet0/1
ip address 10.211.60.2 255.255.255.0
duplex auto
speed auto
snasw dlctrace format analyzer
snasw cpname EFGEURO.SNASW1
snasw port PSNASW1 FastEthernet0/1
snasw port DLSW vdlc 2100 mac 4200.0000.0001 conntype len
snasw link LSNASW1 port PSNASW1 rmac 4600.0000.00a1
snasw link L1SNASW1 port PSNASW1 rmac 4600.0000.00a3
So we have defined two snasw links, LSNASW1 and L1SNASW1 and we use also vdlc port 2100. The dlsw peer interface is the loopback. On the other side of the dlsw cloud, there is a cisco router and an SNA server (microsoft 2003).
Although the dlsw is ok, we have problems with the actual session setup:
7200_SNASW_DLSW#sh dl pe
Peers: state pkts_rx pkts_tx type drops ckts TCP uptime
TCP 10.215.41.1 CONNECT 681 56 prom 0 1 0 00:11:08
Total number of connected peers: 1
Total number of connections: 1
7200_SNASW_DLSW#sh dl ci
Index local addr(lsap) remote addr(dsap) state uptime
3925868595 4200.0000.0001(04) 0088.500c.eb1d(04) CKT_ESTABLISHED -
(notice the 42000000001 which is the vdlc mac).
But in the attached file you can see the dlctrace output error:
we get the SNASW_CS_LOG_6 message, XID protocol during activation. Is it possible to analyse the trace output?
Regards, Apostolos.

Hi Apostolos,
Cisco SNASw is only assisting with activating PUs and LUs by providing DLUR services. It does not replace VTAM, however it will pass all of the control flows to SNA Server as if it is coming directly from VTAM. Here is the PU/LU activation sequence:
SNA Server indicates it wants PU services on the XID it sends to SNASw.
If SNASw does not already have a DLUR-DLUS session (CPSVRMGR mode) with VTAM, it will BIND one. Then it will send a REQACTPU to VTAM, encapsulated in this LU 6.2 session. VTAM should +rsp to REQACTPU.
Next VTAM will send ACTPU down to SNASw, again encapsulated in the DLUR-DLUS session. SNASw de-encapsulates it and forwards it to SNA Server. SNA Server should return +rsp(ACTPU), and SNASw will forward this back to VTAM.
ACTLU processing is handled in a similar way.
If VTAM did not have the switch major node with the PU defined and active, VTAM would have rejected the REQACTPU and ACTPU would not have flowed. SNASw would retry REQACTPU in case the swmajnode comes active.
This is completely described in the DLUR architecture reference. You can find APPN/DLUR architecture documents at http://www.networking.ibm.com/app/aiwdoc.htm . DLUR is the 3rd document down. SSCP-PU and SSCP-LU activation is in chapter 6, and LU-LU activation is chapter 8.
Let me know if you need more detail on this, or if I've misunderstood your question.
There was no sense code in the DLC trace. It would have been in frame 397 sent by SNA Server, in the CV22 at the end of the XID. The sense code field is optional and SNA Server chose not to included it. The CV22 does include an error byte offset of x'001D'. This points to the CP name in the CV 0E in the XID previously sent by SNASw, indicating as you found that the CP name sent by SNASw was not the CP name that SNA Server configured in the link.
Regards,
Bob

• How many Sequence-Tags are allowed in one BPEL-File?

Hello!
I have read that only one Sequenze-Tag per BPEL-File is allowed. If I need more acticvities I should use scopes inside the Sequenze-Tag. Is this true? Actually I am working on a BPEL-File which contains two more Sequenze-Tags inside the all-embracing Sequenze-Tag. Is this legal?

if you look into the bpel schema, which can be found here
