Activity Type with no dollars.

We have a situation where we would like to charge hours quantity to a project but we don't want to pull any dollars into the project based on the hours. The dollars will be charged directly off Vendor Invoices. I thought that using Category 4 Activity Types could accomplish this zero charge but we ran into problems not being able to allocate Cat. 4 Activity Type. Does anyone know how to get hours charged into a project without pulling in dollars as well. You help would be apreciated.

Here is what I have ocnfigured:
Activity "CONLAB" for contract labor is set up with the following fields populated-
Activity Unit = H
CCtr categories = 8
AtypCategory = 4
Every thing else is blank. When I attempt to set this up on the project I get the following error message -
Activity CONLAB cannot be allocated to 2009
      Message No KL008
Diagnosis
     Activity type CONLAB was planned in fiscal year 2009 as non-allocatable. That means other objects cannot input any activity through this activity type.
System Response
     No activity input can be posted
Procedure
     Choose an activity type.
We need to plan these statistical hours but it's not letting us track them in the Project. I sure hope someone has an idea on how to fix this.

I'm trying to find out whether it is possible to connect activity types with a group or range of cost elements, which should be allocated using activity allocation.
I don't want to allocate all costs gathered on Cost Center, but only a range of cost elements. Can I achieve that using direct activity allocation and if it's possible, how can I do it?

Hi Karol,
It is possible to link the cost elements to the activity using the splitting structure in the SPRO of cost center accounting.
First the costs are debited to other cost centers using the plan activity type. At the end of the period when you calculate the actual price of the activity then based on the cost element range assigned to the activity in the splitting structure the actual cost of the cost elements are debited through the activity.

Multiple Activity Types with one Production Cost Centers

Dear Experts,
I have One Cost Center 2 Activity typesu2026I can plan in kp06 in single shot thatu2026
1Ctr-1ActvtyRs.100 and 1Ctr-2Actvty----Rs.200u2026.(Same Cost Elements)
Here my confusion is while doing actual posting we can post cost element to Cost Center i.e.Rs.300 to 1Ctr.
Here how I can map that 100 belongs to 1Activity and Rs.200 belongs to 2Activity because there is only cost center.
I know that solution is simple we can maintain separate cost center for both activity types i.e 1 to 1 mapping of cost center to Activityu2026So Actual posting weu2019ll be fineu2026.
Then what is use of Kp26 to maintain 1 cost center to multiple activity types?

You have pointed out a valid concern.. There is a solution to it as well, however, very cumbersome and less practical
In OKKP - You allow some control indicators i.e. CCA, IO, PCA, COPA, etc.. Here, you need to allow Activity Type as Addiitional Account Assignment Object.... (This is below Cost Center Accounting)
While booking expenses from FI, you can specify the Act TYpe along with the cost center... Provided you have that much patience and it is identifiable....
Also, you can assign act type in Asset MAster so that while posting depreciation in AFAB, the same gets assigned to Act Type

Linking activity types with routings

Hi,
We have several work centres in one production line. But in costing side we have only one cost centre for one production line.If we use common activity types for all these work centres and if update the common activity rate in cost centre, how we are to differentiate costs among different work centres in same production line.

What I understood from your requirement is that you have multiple work centre having same Activity Rate-Activity Type , Same Production Cost Centre .In that case you need to analysise Work Centre Wise operation cost or Operation wise cost at that Work Centre level . Basically , this should be differentiated at operation level based on the Standrad Values , total duration ( setup , machine , labout hrs ) , Formula Key invloved .
From reporting point of view , if you goto -COOIS -Operation -Standrad Profile with Order Type , Plant code and exceute then it will display with Operation Timings as well as if you can goto Select Layout-Change Lay out option -You can choose Price , Costing Variant for same cost centre with different Work Centre and operation combination .
You can check the same in COHV , CO02-Production Order Header-Costing -Cost Analysis -Itemisiton -Orgin Group

Activity types with zero prices.

Hello all
I'm trying to to assign a cost centre to a work centre. I understand that we need to do the activity type price planning for the cost centre before we assign it to the work centres.
The situation is, the activivty types are not planned for few cost centres and the prices are not determined yet for those activity types for those cost centres for the moment. I'm trying to do lsmw to load work centres and it would not let me assign those cost centres as there is no activity type price planning done for those cost centres.
Is there any way that we can create these work centres and assign them to cost centres without actually doing any planning for the activity types.?

They need to have prices. Maintain 0.01 just so that you can load your master data.
Subsequently you can go back and change them to the prices they should be.

Activity type and CAT2

Hi friends,
my client have employee who had activity type for 2009 (ACS001) and we planned this activity type with cost center(2114200001) in kp26.
Belong 2010 year this person should not post in this activity type(ACS001), but other person with different cost centers can post in this activity type. So we not planning there cost center in kp26.
But the problem is when person create mistake and post in cat2 for this activity type(ACS001) some hours for 2010.
The system create only warn messages 'No activity prices exist for 2114200001/ACS001'.
When employee push enter the system accept record.
So i think that we have several decision:
1.With user rights to restrict activity type(ACS001).
2. Create new analysis period for ACS001. Now this period is from 01.2005 to 12.2999year.
and split in to periods 1 period 01.2005 - 12.2009 and 2 period from 01.2010 to 12.2999.
3.Create validation in HR
4.Change messages type BK - 057 from warn to error. Here i think that is impossible.
So how what type of decisions is better, and flexible?

2 possibilities:
1: OBA5 change message control, you can set this message to "ERROR" on SAP-user level.
2: If the combination of cost center 2114200001 and act. typa ACS001should not be used anymore in FY 2010 create a new validity interval for both masterdata and use the field "cost center category" in cost center master data / activity type master data to "unlink" cost center / act. type.

Activity Type reporting in REM.

Hi PP Gurus,
The requirement is to club Activity types with Alternate activity description. We used AFRU table to extract confirmed activity type values from REM backflush and table TCROT to take the description of Alternate activity types. But whenever we are trying using ABAP Query (SQVI) using table join conditions system is giving some Warning Error message.
How could we rectify this problem. Further comments in this context are most welcome.

About activity type date

I want to chang date for activity type in master data of activity but i m not enable to do this ,plz tell how can i chen the date for activity type ,my current date is 2008 but i want to change this 2007.
Its urgent so plz tell me as earily as possible

You cannot change the validaity date, but what you may do is copy the activity type with a new validaty date. All the setting should be the same.

Normally an activity type is attached to a secondary cost element and doesnt create any accounting entry at the time of creating activity type...the combination of activity type with cost centre is maintained in KP26 transaction code...Again at the time of creating a routing there will be no accounting entry...

Argon GAS in activity type.

Is it possible to map the cost of activity type "welding process" where I am using argon gas as raw material. I want to map gas consumption for every miute in activity type. I have a work center where only welding is done. I have defined a standard key with processing time only. Now in this processing time I want to define the activity type with gas consumption as mentioned above.
Here I want that by entering the processing time in routing, all the cost encurred (material including GAS) mujst be updated and also GI should be done automatically.
Please help me whether this can be done or not??

You can define Gas consumed as parameter then assign that Standard value key......... now assign that standard value key to the workcenter ......... in this way you can capture the amount of gas consumed ....
Also mainatain the price for the gas consumed per unit qty in KP26..........
But I am not sure that GI will be done for the gas consumed as you have mentioned in the requirement automatically ........

Depending on how you created your account, "None" may or may not be an option. I believe it has something to do with whether the account was made through an App Store request or the regular iTunes Store. For example, my account allows no card but my father's doesn't allow there to be no card.
To change the card, go to your account settings and change the information to your new card, and hit save.

Valuation price with user Exit on activity types

Our customer could have different activity cost for different products even if they are processed on the same cost center, same activity type and same activity time. So I wonder whether SAP has valuation price with user Exit on activity types as what on material valuation, when we select "U" in the relevant valuation variant. Could anyone knows advise please?

Hi Walter,
an idea might be to include an ABC template into the costing. ABC tempaltes allow a big degree of freedom in determinin which processes to use and in which quantities. To use the product as a cost driver is certainly not an issue. I doubt that you can directly influence the process 'price' to be applied, but to change the quantity could bring the same result.

what are Microsoft Office versions that support this functionality?

I would actually be curious to know what version most customers are using. 2000 is now 4 releases behind the current, and soon to be 5.
Although I think Office 2000 should technically work, it was also the first release with a built-in webDAV client, there might be some additional configuration to get it to work. maybe some digging on the microsoft support site regarding webdav and Office 2000. But, I also think it's a question of support b/w Office and WebDAV; not Office and PLM4P.
Instead, I would recommend using a newer release of Office to avoid this issue, altogether.
