Hi,
Although i am not CO expert , please check with your FICO consultant who are expert before make the final call.
During settlement to a G/L account or a fixed asset, the system ignores additional account assignments that were manually specified in the distribution rule.
Based on what i know .
you can stipulate that settlement may be made to cost centers and orders, but not to fixed assets.
The Settlement profile is something that you need to create a settlement rule to settle the actual costs of a sender object.
About the Settlement rule is something that  contains the distribution rules for the sender. It will define how the way to settle the cost.
Allocation Structure
In the settlement structure you combine the primary and secondary cost elements into groups, in which debits are then posted to the sender objects. For each group, you specify whether (for settlement to a given receiver type) settlement is performed
by cost element or using a settlement cost element.
For example, you might use settlement cost elements:
To document the purpose of an order (such as, repairs or maintenance)
To reduce data volumes (you can combine a number of debit cost elements
under one settlement cost element).

  • Actual Costs for Production Order

    Hi All
I have a scenerio where they dont want any product costing methods say WIP,Variance calculation & Settlement.
When the Goods receipt is done for production order the actual costs and the Activity costs to be valuated.
    Regards
    Jayshankar.A

    Hi,
In our case the Standard price is updated in the material master. For this, you need to create a costing estimate using T-Code CK11N and update & release in CK24.
When CK11N is executed the standard price is calculated for the material by taking Moving Avg Price of RM (Price indicator V) and the activity costs are calculated as per data given in KP26. These cost components are added and a final cost estimate is prepared, which is updated using T Code CK24.
    the pre-requisites are:
    1. BOM should be maintained.
    2. Routing should be made.
For executing the same procedure for all the materials, you can use T Code CK40N.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
    Revert for further details.

    Rohit.

  • Actual cost of production order in inventory valuation

    Hi,
Kindly tell me in our client requirement to "capture actual cost of drum manufactured. This cost will go to finished mixer. So actual goods receipt of drum should be with actual production order cost . Also actual mixer cost should be taken from actual production order cost. How to map this s cenarionin in SAP" ?
    Best Regards,
    Anindita

    Hi Shyam,
In SAP product costing we use generally standard cost estimation. Raw material ara taken as moving averagae price as v and finished products are taken as standard price i.e, S. Before cost estimation we update plan price in material master costing view 2 for accurate cost estimation. In case of standard cost estimation price variance is occured which is post to separate gl account. Our client wants actual cost rather than standard cost. Without implementing material ledger is it possible to do actual costing in SAP. Please let me know the process of actual costing...

  • No actual cost in production order

    Hello,
We just create a new plant in our SAP system, and create a new production in this plant, but there are no actual cost occured after confirmation although there are plan cost in cost analysi, I check the following areas:
1, cost center, we maintained the price for activity types in KP26
2, costing variant and valuation variant
3, confirmation, there are posted quantity of activity types
4, routing in the production order
But I can't find the reason.
When I use COFC, found the error that said no actitivy type price maintained, but we don't use this activity type for this production order's work center(cost tab).
When I go to cost - itemization, the activity types are what we don't maintained in workcenter(cost tab)
    Any body can help me?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi richard,
Pls check that in kp26 transaction, which version do you select in the entry screen. Also the period for which the prices are maintained.
Moreover, if your work centers use that activity type, only then it will show up in your cost itemization.
Pls confirm the above and revert back.
    Awaiting for your confirmation,
    Regards,

  • Actual Costing in Production Order

    Dear All,
We are in Production Client.I have created cost estimate and moved to material master.
PP has created a production Order and confirmed the activities.
When I view the costs from CO03,i can see the target costs perfectly, but actual costs are not apprearing in the order.
We have 6 activity types and out of 6 ,we have costs for 5 activities and for the remaining 1 activity ,plan qty is maintained ,but there is no plan cost.Is because of this ,actaul costs are not coming in to order? Or any thing is missed out ?
Please share any idea on this issue as we are in production.
    Regards
    Su

    Dear Mr Ajay,
Sorry for the information given in the previous one as I have given wrong Order No.while checking.
I have checked once again with the correct order. When I checked COFC ,System has given the error messages for the Setup activity type for which price is not available in the system as no costs are planned for the activity type as we don't  have setup hours for this month, but qty is planned and PP has confirmed the set up qty.
Is because of this issue ,actual costs did not appear in the order?
To my knowledge ,as I said we have 6 activity types, out of which there is no cost for setup, hence system is throwing a error for no price for that activity.
But the system can capture the actaul costs for the remaing 5 activities for which prices are available.

  • Actual cost in production order

    Dear Guru's,
Please note the following scenario: For a production order of 100 pcs if I wastes/scraps 15 pcs in opeartion then how to capture only the cost of 85 pcs in production order? Please suggest the settings.
    Regards,
    SAP CONS

Y U want cost for Only 85. It should be for 100
    For Ex
    f0r opern 10
Lets take Cost incurred for operation 10 for 100 qtys is 1000 rs
    In Operation 20
If the cost incurred for 100 is 500, Consider 15 qty as waste
In operation 30 cost incurred for 30 for qty 85 is 400
Then the  actual cost incurred for the prdn  is operation 10 + Operation 20 + operation 30
It should not be for qty 85.

  • Production order settlement posting

    Hi all,
For our production order settlement now, it is posting to:
Debit u2013  Production Order settlement (OBYC --> GBB --> AUA )
    Credit u2013 inventory
For the credit posting though, in OBYC --> PRD --> PRF it is set to hit the 'cost of goods sold' account instead of the 'inventory' account. What can be causing it to hit inventory?

    Dear,
In production order, there are 3 elements. 1 Material consumption 2 inventory change and 3 is confirmation on which planned cost and actual cost is determined.
Material consumption and inventory change is directly relevant to stock of materials but confirmation is only relevant to activities e.g. labor, machine, FOH and setup.
Settlement is difference of plan and actual cost on production order. This difference can be due to either first 2 elements or 3rd element i.e. activity. That's why it can not be "inventory' account".
    Thanks

  • After production order settlement, where does the cost go?

    Dear Experts,
I understand after we did the "order settlement" for production order, the cost will be settled to material manufactured from the said production order.  Say, the total cost is $10,000 to produce 1000 units of finished goods (FG), then the cost settled to each individual FG at $10 each, am I right?  Where can I see the settled cost in the material master?..
I checked in the cost center report, S_ALR_87013611, I can see the cost Credited from "production" cost center with a breakdown in settlement cost element such as machine hour, setup and personnel hour.  I understand the other side of Debit was to the production order, and only after order settlement, I'm not sure which cost center will be Debited.
That would be the CO side, how about the FI, would there be any cost posted to the GL side after production order settlement to the material?
    Please advise..
    regards,
    Abraham

    Hi Abraham,
It's not the button i mentioned. I was just trying to take u to the accounting document from the settlement screen. well just drill down the settlement screen and u'll get it. No big deal.
But more important is the concept. I'll share my understanding here. (cost by production order)
Any value that flow into controlling module should have a cost object. Here production order is the cost object.
First u create a production order (cost object) for say 1 unit of X with a std price of Rs. 10
Std price comes frm material master as a result of std cost estimate
    U start production - Raw materials are consumed - 2 qty x Rs.3.
Entry RM Consumption Dr Rs. 6    Inventory Cr Rs.6 (Prod order is debited with Rs.6)
Activity (Let's say machine hours - 3 Hrs x Rs.2) According to the routing it was  2 hrs but actual production took 3 hrs.
Entry - None - But production order is debited with Rs. 6.
When production is complete for 1 qty of X, entry flows
Finished Goods Dr Rs.10    Change in Stock  Cr. Rs.10  (Production order is credited with Rs.100
Abraham, now visualise both sides of the production order. It will have debit of Rs.12 and credit of Rs.10.
Now accountant sees the production order and confirms the values are ok and puts the status of TECO to the order. which means the order is technically complete.
Now when u run the order settlement, this production order is picked up by the system (due to it's status). System sees difference between debit and credit of Rs 2.
So it cedits the production order with Rs. 2. Now both debit and credit of production order is equal (Rs.12)
Entry Price diff A/c Rs,2     Change is stock A/c Rs.2
Now this rs. 2 is settled to COPA. It does not flow to material.
Reason:  in a std costing system materials are valued at standard cost and
Hope this helps. Do revert in case of doubts.
    Best Regards

  • To see the cost of production order  after settlement to header material

    hello guys,
In make to stock,we settle the total cost of prodution order on header material, right(if we keep as the default rule( distribution rule in order type)?
If i want to see that cost of production order which we settled against the header material, where should i check it?should i check in material account or somewhere else?
             Thanking you guys in advance.

    Dear,
There is a little missunderstanding in your thought.
If the material of price control S, When you do the GR, the STD cost of material is deducted from production order cost, then when you settle the production order, the variance is settled to variance account/PD account. hence the production order cost balance is zero.
Example- Production order cost is 60000
After GR the production order cost balance is 60000-50000 = 10000.
After settlement production order cost balance is zero.
Now your question is where can i see the production order cost?
You can see the production order cost in the production order itself.
In the production order...cost disply option just filter the origin with test settlement and GR.
Then total up the cost, then you can see the cost as 60000.
please come back if you need more help.

  • Splitting the cost of Production Order

    Hello Sapians,
We have a situation where a purchase order has all of its costs going to one production order but the services provided
on the purchase order were actual for three production orders. What is the process for adjusting this amount for the
    production order costing?
For example, PO number is 10001 and this is currently all being charged to production order 60003. I would like
15000 USD be moved to both production orders 60001 and 60002.
Do we have any process of splitting the amount to two different Production Orders in SAP?
    Thank you,
    -Harter.

    Hi Ajay,
I checked the Order and there are some actions after the Production Order is settled.
For example: The Order got settled twice in 12/10/2010 and 01/31/2011. And the Variance was there when settling the Order second time and it was also settled on 01/31/2011.
There are some operations that are on the Production Order before and after the second settlement dates. Even after 01/31/2011 month's settlement I can see some charges on the Production Order from the operations (Subcontracting, Overhead PRD, Personnel Hr)
    My questions and doubts are
    1. Do I need to reverse both the months settlements?
    2. What are the impacts of the reversing the settlements on the other operations that were executed before and after the Order is settled? (Operations are Subcontracting, Overhead PRD, Personnel Hr).
    Thank you,
    -Harter.

  • Production order settlement variance button

    Hi,
I check the settlement of production order and would like to clarify.
In the settlement rule, the account assignment category is MAT, when double click the rule or click settlement variance button, it shows category PSG.
why there are 2 settlement? for settlement to asset, there is only 1 and no settlement variance button.
so why production order settlement has 2 settlement?
    Thanks

    Hi,
On settlement of Production order, two documents gets created one is Accounting document for posting the variances to Accounts and the Profitability analysis documents.
This is because, when COPA is activated, the Sold quantity in copa is valuated using the Standard cost estimate.
For eg: if the SCE of X material is 100 Rs. and Billed quantity is 10 Qty, this billed quantity is valuated using the 100 rs and 1000 Rs is transferred to COPA as COGM.
But when production is carried out, the actual cost can be different from that of SCE. I,e it can be 120 Rs.
Hence there is a difference of 20 Rs with which inventory is being valuated less in both Accounts and also in COPA. Hence the same is settled to the respective module on the settlement of Production order so that you have FI and COPA gets reconciled to that extent.
But Asset settlement we are valuating it with full amount of acquisition. and there is no standard set for the same. Hence the result.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Kumar
