Actual socket requirements for installation?

Hi All,
I'm looking to get my ADSL line upgraded to Fibre. After chatting to BT on the phone I'm a little confused as to what is required.
I'm told that they will need access to my "NTE5" Master Socket. However we don't have one.
We have a "BT66" connection socket outside ( See reference here: https://community.bt.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19546i2A7CBDE505F93DBF/image-size/medium?v=mpb... and from that on what looks like Bell wire runs to a single socket which looks like it was bought off a market for about 35p.
Could somebody please tell me what will be required to get things up to spec for Infinity, and who I have to get to do each section of the work? I've been getting conflicting advice elsewhere.
Many thanks.

The engineer will sort everything out on install.

Right now I have a 10.5.8 is there a way to upgrade or something?

Buy the Snow Leopard retail installer (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA).
That will take you to 10.6.3.
If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)

  • OSX required for installation?

I can't find the mac OS requirement for Photoshop CS3. Will Photoshop CS3 install on a mac with 10.3 or do you need to buy 10.4 first??

these are the general requirements for running Leopard:
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    512MB of memory
    DVD drive for installation
    9GB of available disk space
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
Some features require Apple's .Mac service; fees apply.
I'm running Leopard on my iBook(G4 1.3Ghz) but not CS3. the iBook runs a little slow at times because the iBook is not a powerhouse. Cs and CS2 also work but not all that well. I don't do any production work on the iBook.

  • Actual minimum requirements for PP CS4 standard DV?

    Hello all,
Just upgraded to CS4 from premiere pro 2.0.  I do have an older system but I believe it does meet the minimun requirements for DV according to website.  I am attempting to do basic editing with standard DV and I cannot even get a simple string of clips together in the timeline without a crash.  Currently using windows XP pro SP3, intel P4 3.2 HT, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro FX1100 graphics card with latest driver.  Any ideas on what might be going on?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Eric

Glad that you got things sorted out.
As for the real-world minimums, I'd say that unless one has AVCHD material, that a fast Duo-core CPU with 4GB RAM (32-bit OS) and 3x SATA II HDD's, allocated properly, would be the minimum, and then one could benefit from cleaning up the system to bare bones - cutting unnecessary programs and Processes, per the tips in this ARTICLE.
If one has AVCHD material, I'd go with the fastest Quad-core as the absolute minimum, and a fast i7 as better.
With a 64-bit OS, I'd bump the RAM to 12GB as the minimum, but one could probably get by with less.
    Hope that this helps,
    Hunt

  • Is Ansi c cc compiler for HP-UX require for installation of oracle 9i (9.2)

    Hi.
I'm doing an installation of Oracle 9i 9.2 on HP -UX Itanium version 11i. The installation fails when OUI tries to relink executables. Release note clearly states "Requires Ansi c cc which is located in /opt/ansic/bin".
    Is this Ansi c cc a requirement?. I don't have a /opt/ansic/bin directory.
Help will be greatly appreciated ...!

    Hi.
I've read that already and linked files with the root user, because I don't understand what they mean by enable superuser privileges. Superuser privileges for whom? the oracle user?. How do i do it? by making it a part of root group?. Anyway, as i said, i made those links as the root user and tried to install DB with same result.
Now if you read release notes, it clearly states that ansci c cc is required and is located at /opt/ansic/bin. I'm afraid I don't have that directory, so i assume i have to install ansi c cc. Since this is stated on release note, i consider this information more current.
Please review release note and let me know what you think!.
    Regards Luis !

  • A program required for installation could not be run

I am trying to update itunes, but it rolls back and doesn't complete. This is getting frustrating as to I need it to update my ipod.
    Please help me!!

Try manually removing Apple Software Update using the method in this article:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
IF ASU will not uninstall you need to do an installer clean up.
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Remove any entries you find for Apple Software Update.
Download the iTunes installer from the Apple site and save it on your desktop. Run the installer from there.

  • What are requirements for Installation of Wireless Broadband

I am getting wireless broadband installed next week and wanted to know what network card I should purchase and how to install? Where can I go to find the info. Also do most towers already ahve a version installed?
    Thanks

    First, welcome to the discussions.
    You are getting Broadband Installed.
Wireless is determined by having a Wireless Router.
Most Internet Service Provider don't furnish a Wireless Router you will have to go out and purchase it seperatly.
Your Tower does have an Ethernet Card and will allow for direct plug in that will enable you to have the faster speed that you are after.
Normally Wireless connections are used for portables like laptops that are mobile and can be readly moved from one location to another with a minimum of problems.
It is not really necessary for you if you are working from a tower. You will not be moving your computer from room to room like with a LapTop.
If you decide however to make your system Wireless you only need purchase a Wireless Router to Ethernet Cable to your Internet Service Providers Modem.

  • Hardware requirement for Fusion Applications HCM installation

    Hi Team,
I want to install fusion applications for HCM.
Can any one suggest the minimum hardware requirement for installation.
Please help me with any documents.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

    Dear Chandra,
Please note that Fusion Applications installation involves following components.
    1. Oracle Identity and Access Management components (Middleware infrastructure)
    2. Oracle Database for IDM
    3. Oracle Database for Fusion Apps
    4. Fusion Applications Domains (includes Admin and managed servers for Fusion Applications)
I have posted a guide on installing Fusion applications on 2 node setup and if you have sufficient hardware to host 2 VMs then it can be done on single server as well.
    http://www.oratraining.com/blog/2013/03/oracle-fusion-applications-installation-step-by-step-guide-11-1-6/
This will explain the 2 node architecture which I have prepared.
    http://www.oratraining.com/blog/2013/03/fusion-applications-architecture-for-2-node-setup/
The minimum memory requirement changes if you select more products since in Fusion apps each products have their own domain and if you select more products then there will be more application managed servers (even if you don't select a product family, it will still create some managed weblogic servers based on dependency with selected products)
The minimum memory requirement to host IDM and consolidated DB in 1 node is 10-12 GB
The minimum memory requirement to host Fusion Applications domains on 2nd node is 64 GB (for 1 product family, for all products selected then 128 GB)
Please note that these are "minimum" requirements based on my experience, not as per the documents since what we are talking about is installing for "learning", not for production, where you will host various components in separate nodes.
    Thanks

  • OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for this installer. 10.6.0 is the minimum required

How do I get my software? This is the message I am hitting before my download will complete:
OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for this installer.
10.6.0 is the minimum required for installation.

    Hi,
May I know what are you trying to download ?
What is the MAC OS version you are using ?
It seems you are trying to download an application which needs atleast 10.6 MAC version
I think you are using lower version of MAC, let us know the version of your MAC , in order to help better .
To check the version  : click on Apple Button on top left
select about this MAC, you will get to know the version over there.
If its something 10.5.x , then you need to upgrade your MAC in order to install that application which needs 10.6 MAC
    Thanks,
    Baljeet

  • Does Premier Pro CS4 require a 64 bit OS for installation?

Before purchasing Premier Pro CS4, would like to know if 64 bit OS is required for installation. Currentlly on XP SP3, 32 bit. Have purchased CS5 and CS6 but can't use Pro on that OS.

Part of the purchase of CS5 includes a version of CS4 for those who don't have a 64-bit OS.  Check your downloads or discs for CS4.

  • Minimum Hardware Requirement for Oracle11gAS Client PC

as subject, can anyone give me some feedback? thanks!

Assuming you are referring to Fusion Middleware 11, I will start by saying that this is a product set of many components and install options. To even offer a suggested recommendation for hardware would heavily depend on exactly what you are planning to install and do with this installation.
I would recommend review the product installation guides. That said, when reviewing the minimum requirements for memory (RAM), I would recommend that you consider at least adding 15-20% more than what is document. Remember that these are minimum requirements for installation and basic use and not requirements to actually use these products in production with load.
    Product Documentation
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/index.htm
    System Requirements
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/E18558_01/fusion_requirements.htm
Also note that in most cases, reference to memory (RAM) is for the product and not necessarily the box. Unless otherwise noted in the document, you need to consider everything else you are running on the machine including the OS. So, for example, if the install guide says you need a minimum of 2gig of RAM, this does not take into account what the OS needs. So, in this example, consider the 2gig documented plus 20% (as suggested above) plus about 1.5 gig for the OS and other minimal apps running, you would need approximately 4gig of RAM just to complete an installation and execute basic features. In many cases the documentation now refers to "minimum RAM" and "available RAM". "Available RAM" in the document refers to RAM plus swap (virtual memory). My recommendation is not referring to swap. Although the documentation is correct and does work, you will be much happier with more RAM installed.
Bottom line, in the case of RAM, more is always better. However, remember that on some 32bit OSs there is a limitation as to how much RAM can be accessed. Be sure to refer to the OS documentation for details.
I forgot to mention, your question would probably get better feedback in the "Applcation Server" forum area:

  • Drives do not meet the requirements for Safari 4.0.5

I have an original Power MAc G5 with daul 2 GHz processor running 10.5.8. I am currently running Safari 4.0.3 and would like to upgrade to 4.0.5, but the installation package stated that none of my drives meet the requirements for installation. What are the requirements for installation, my startup drive has over 100GB of free space.

    Ok..
    Try repairing disk permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
