Ad Hoc Distribution for Adobe Built Apps?

I'm thinking of building some iOS apps but not using the iOS SDK
Does anyone know if I sign up for the Apple Developer Program,
Could I still do Ad Hoc distribution of my Adobe built apps for testing?
I would rather not have to buy a MAC to do development and testing
Thanks
Mathias

  • Admin Rights for Adobe AIR apps

Which Admin rights are needed on a system to install a .AIR file on a system? In our Enterprise scenario users do not have Admin rights on the system. And whenever user tries installing an AIR app an error is thrown for the same. I want to know what are the least (Admin) rights that we need to give to a user on a WindowsXP system so that he can install air apps?

    Hello,
Unfortunately, there isn't a simple answer to this question because AIR isn't in complete comtrol over the full set of files and registry keys touched during an install - we rely on Windows Installer for that.  However you can find additional information about this at:
Does Installing an AIR Application Require Admin Rights?
    What are Administrative Rights, Anyway?
You might also want to vote for this idea: Installation of Adobe AIR apps without having administrative privileges
    Hope this helps,

  • How do I get credit for Adobe Touch App purchases?

I purchased two Adobe Touch Apps a few months ago: Photoshop Touch and Ideas. Today I subscribed to Adobe Creative Could and saw that I can get a month free by purchasing three Touch Apps. So, I purchased a third Touch App today, Proto.
Okay. Now, how do I get credit for these purchases so that I can receive my one free month of Creative Cloud as advertised?

    Qualifying Touch Apps:
    Photoshop Touch - ios
    Adobe Ideas        - ios
    Adobe Collage      - ios
    Adobe Proto        - ios
The process of activation would happen automatically when you login in the third touch app.
And you will get notification of extension via email in next 60 days.
    Thanks

  • License Keys for Adobe Air Apps

Many software applications require the end user to input a valid license key before proceeding with the installation. I have yet to come across an Adobe AIR application that employs this mechanism.
The question is how can i integrate such a mechanism into an adobe air app?

    Two options:
    a) Build a licensing verification scheme yourself
    b) Use a 3rd party tool, such as NitroLM or Sharify or Shibuya

  • Videos/Audios for Adobe AIR App

    Hi there,
I'm new to Adobe AIR and I would like to find out if I'm building an app that sells videos/musics . Do I need to store all the video/music samples in the user's computer (part of the app) in order to be viewed offline?
    Thanks in advance!
    cheers.

You need to store the music and videos somewhere on the user's computer, but not in the application install directory. (The documents directory is possibly a good place for them.)

  • Solution for Adobe Porting apps to Linux

Adobe Let's face it the world is SICK and TIRED of being held hostage by Windows. I myself have an anethema to Apple because I don't like to be locked into a proprietary hugely expensive nightmare. No qualms against their stuff it is just not for me. Them and Sony, no thanks.
So in keeping this simple because the argument is really going to boil down to Money! Linux users have been clamoring for years for a Photoshop Port. So let us put our money where our mouth is. There is a solution to this nonsense.
Start an Escrow account for the purpose of Linux development. Either interest earning or not and when the number gets to a point of an interest to stock holders you will be forced to move because the stock will jump and stock holders will be happy. Linux users will be happy and Microsoft will die! I'm not saying that everyone that uses Photoshop uses microsoft, but Apple hold outs like myself will definetly make the switch. Photoshop is the only thing holding me back.
If there are others out there I'm sure if you can figure out a savvy financial vehicle to make the stockholders of Adobe salivate uncontrollably please pitch in.
I've got $2500 on it or at least a subscription to the Creative Cloud. Whose with me?

Silliness, especially the Microsoft-will-die, part, being linked to Adobe software development decisions.  M$ may disappear or be bought out by Google or Apple, but because tablets take over, not because of Linux.  If Adobe needs to put money away, then it would be for a tablet-development fund, not Linux-development fund.

  • How to have a longer recent view list for adobes reader app?

Since the recent abode reader update the recently view tab have been gone and is replace with a menu at the left hand side of the screen.  I don't really mind the change but what is bugging me is the extremely short list of recently view files. I can only see max of 5 files and I is starting to get really annoying having to constantly search for my files again. I open a lot of files and like to go back and forth between them and it really hard to do that with such a short recently view list.
So long story short is there a way to make the recent view list longer. So I can see more then 5 files in the list?
    Thanks.

Tell Apple you'd like to see this:

There is no setting on your phone to do so.

  • What are my options if I do not want to use App Store for distribution of my Enterprise App?

We are developing an App that is tailormade for a limited number of our customers only. The app is for free.
Currently we ship it through the App Store but the main issue is that the reaction times are too high. If we need to provide a fix it has to be pushed to our clients ASAP without having to wait for review.
If we sign up for an Enterprise Dev licence, we get 5000 installations "for free". The questions that arise:
Is it allowed to use those licences to distribute the app to customers or can they be used for our own employees only?
How are the 5000 devices managed? Do we have to keep track of all of them, create new provisioning profiled and need to rebuild the app and sign it with a new certificate everytime a device gets added/removed?
I found that there is way for third party software disttribution: http://www.apple.com/business/vpp/
It has a dead link that would probably show a way to deploy apps the way we want it: https://developer.apple.com/appstore/resources/volume/
What I' really looking for in short:
I can fix the app, make a new build and upload that to one of our servers.
Our servers ensure that only selected users can access the app installation bundle.
Who ever gains access to the bundle should be able to install it, no matter if his device has been "registered" in some way or not.
It is okay if the users will have to install a provisioning profile to their devices, as long as that profile is "dynamic", meaning that nobody has to add or remove devices manually.
Can somebody comment if there is a solution for that?
    Thanks
    René

If you are in the Enterprise program, apps can be distributed only to that company's employees. If you want to distribute to customers in general, you would have to be a member of the normal iOS developer program and either use ad-hoc distribution for up to 100 users, or go through the App Store. There are no other options I'm aware of, though you can contact Apple Developer Support through your membership resources and ask.
    Regards.

  • Ad hoc distribution and App Store submission

Hi all, this is to people who've used ad hoc and app store submission.
Our application currently is currently setup for Ad Hoc distribution (for testing) and soon we will submit it to the App Store. Do I have to remove the Entitlement.plist file from the project, or can I submit the app with all the ad hoc stuff still in place? (seems a bit messy to remove it etc)

mine have been accepted without removing anything from the project
i just created 2 distribution build configurations:
one for app store dist using app store profile
one for ad hoc with the dist.list and ad hoc profile

  • Ad Hoc distribution not working

I am trying Ad Hoc distribution for the first time. I generated the Ad Hoc mobile provision profile with the user's UDID. I built the app as Apple describes. I sent the provision file and the zipp'ed app to someone running Windows XP.
They dragged the provision file into iTunes and that seemed to install (when they did it a second time it said it was already installed). When they dragged the .app directory into iTunes, the cursor changed to a Plus sign as they dropped it there. However it was not then visible in the Applications part of the library. When dragging it into iTunes a second time, it **did not** indicate it was already installed.
Any idea what the problem could be? If somehow their UDID didn't match the one in the provision file (or the one in the app), would it give this behavior?

I had this problem when doing ad-hoc on Windows before. I created a compressed copy of the application using the compress feature in Finder. Unfortunately, when that ZIP file is extracted on Windows, you get both a .app folder and a .app file in the extracted directory. Not sure what's in the extra file (Finder resources, maybe?) but it is a little confusing.
I solved the problem by writing a script that uses the command-line zip command to create an .ipa file, which is properly-interpreted by Windows and Mac OS iTunes. I don't think the structure of the .ipa file is documented anywhere, but it's just a ZIP archive with a "Payload" folder containing your .app bundle. If you want to see what one looks like, just run "unzip" on an IPA from your iTunes library.
Oh, and I suggest that you personally try out your install instructions on a Windows machine before sending a build out to a tester, if you can. I use Parallels to do my Windows-based testing, but there are lots of other options.

  • Suitcase Fusion 5 making Adobe CC apps slow?

Hi. New Macbook Pro Retina. Just moved back to Suitcase Fusion 5, after really liking Fontcase for several years.
It seems the Extensis plugins are really decreasing the startup time for Photoshop, etc. I don't even have any fonts loaded or activeted, beyond the system fonts. When I remove the photoshop extensis plug in, launch time is super fast, 2 seconds. With the plug in it feels like forever, 6 seconds.
    Anyone else experiencing this?
Also, do the extensions enbable auto font activation for Adobe CC apps, or just the the integrated font panels I see under the Extensions menu in CC apps? I don;t care much for the integrated font panels.
    Thanks for any help.

You'll get better answers in the PS forum or the Extensis ones for that matter, I'm sure...

  • Question about building an app for a single ad hoc distribution

Say I want to build and app and send the app, along with a provisioning profile, to somebody to install via iTunes for beta testing.
The "Ad Hoc" panel says the following:
Ad Hoc distribution allows you to share your application with up to 100 iPhone or iPod touch users, and to distribute your application through email or by posting it to a web site or server. To prepare your application, the following steps will need to be completed.
Create and Download an iPhone Distribution Certificate
Create and Download an Ad Hoc Distribution Provisioning Profile
    Build your application with Xcode
Share your application file and the Ad Hoc Distribution Provisioning Profile with the owner of each device
Recipients of the application will need to drag the application file and Ad Hoc Distribution Provisioning Profile into iTunes, then sync their iPhone to iTunes to install
My question is, do I have to build the application in the extremely complicated way described in the "distribution" tab which says "only the team agent" can do? Or is that for a mass distribution?
Can I build my app like I do for the simulator and just send that along with the provisioning profile to the other person by email?
What is the absolute easiest way of doing this sort of ad hoc distribution?
    Thanks!
    doug

Another development device? I don't even have one yet.
The person I'm developing with has one though.
It turns out all that needed to be done was:
    (1) Build using the iPhone OS setting instead of the Simulator setting.
    (2) Set the provisioning profile.
Then using the app and profile, just drop them on top of the apps section in iTune and synch.
That's all there was too it. I didn't need to use all the 11 steps in the distribution section for just the ad hoc distribution, I'm happy to say!

  • Test app ad hoc distribution on Itunes windows xp

    Hi,
Do you know if it's possible to test an App in ad hoc distribution on Itunes windows xp?
    I can't find the process.
How to load mobile.provisonning and IPA in Itunes windows.
    Thanks.

Help! I've tried all the steps in this thread and am still unable to distribute to a phone using iTunes on Windows.
In summary, I've created and built an app on my Mac Mini and deployed it to my phone using an ad-hoc provision generated by the developer portal. Taking the same app-bundle and mobile provisioning file to a windows computer and attempting to deploy it to another phone, produces this error:
"Could not be installed because it could not be verified"
I'm trying to figure out why this is failing, surely one of the many steps I've taken is not quite right.
    Here are the details:
I created device ids for two phones we’d like to test.
I am using iTunes on a mac.
Then, using the developer portal, I created an ad-hoc provisioning profile for an appID I created earlier.
Then, using XCode, I configured the signing of my app to use the provisioning profile just created.
Then, using iTunes on my mac, I dragged the app bundle and provisioning profile to the applications panel.
Then I clicked sync – it succeeded and the app works on my phone.
Looking in the settings on my phone, I see a profile for the ad-hoc provision.
I emailed the app and the provisioning profile to my brother to install on the other phone.
Using iTunes on windows, he dagged the app (directory) and provisioning profile to the applications panel.
He clicked sync – it failed – "Could not be installed because it could not be verified"
Looking in the settings on my brother’s phone, we see no profile for the ad-hoc provision.
