Ad hoc for SSN

Hello All,
I am trying to figure out how can i run a AD hoc query to see only last four digits of selected employee's?
Is there any way, anybody knows how to do this?

You can create an additional field in the Infoset & put code in it to display the last 4 digits of SSN & create the Query using this Infoset to dispaly the SSN as reqd.

Hi,
This field is applicable to US. You would find this in IT0002-Pesonal Data. If the country grouping is 10, you would automatically get this field in IT0002.

Jumping into the job search again for a sysadmin position in Atlanta and I have noticed that there are some job boards (icims and others that I have seen) asking for my SSN. I am assuming that, if they are legit, they want this for a background check but I was curious if this was common for most/all job searching businesses. Any leads in Atlanta would be helpful :)

Using Adobe Acrobat XI, uploaded my form from my Word. How do I format spaces for SSN, DOB, Phone number?

I'm trying to create a new client form how do I format the spaces numerically for DOB, SSN and phone number??? HELP! Can I do this on Adobe Acrobat XI????

Not sure what you mean by uploaded form. Did you print to the Adobe PDF printer, use the Save As Adobe PDF, use Save As PDF or XPS, use the Acrobat menu in WORD, or try to open the word file in Acrobat directly? Assuming you printed to the Adobe PDF printer, then you select the TOOLS>Interactive and select the Form Wizard. Otherwise, you simply use the tools under the interactive menu. The form tools are under the interactive menu (I could give better direction if I was at home where I have AA XI).

When user display the Employee Personal Details (0002) using PA30.
I have to display the SSN field with stars.
ex: If original SSN is 123 45 6789
I have to display it as *** ** 6789

The only thing I can think of is finding a BAdI or user exit (screen exit) in which this field can be accessed / changed. Otherwise you might be looking at a modification of standard SAP.
Do you try and find some display options in customizing?

Ad-hoc for ipod touch with internet

Hi, I'm trying to forward the internet to my ipod touch. I believe I've gotten the ad-hoc network itself to work properly, as the ipod claims to be connected, but it cannot use the internet. I've looked at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Internet_Share and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad-hoc_networking but I can't exactly run the given commands on the ipod. =\ I don't really understand iptables and I've never successfully manually set up wireless before (x_x), thought it seems it's just this internet forwarding part that's really killing me.
Can anyone give me a push in the right direction, if not some working examples?

I assume the machine you are forwarding through is an Arch box -- If you had made the subject more Arch centric, you may have had a better response
I've not tried this, but the approach I would take would be:
Start by trying to serve something from the Arch box and see if you can hit it from the ipod. I don't know what you can do on the ipod, but I know it has a web browser. So, if you set up a light weight browser, you could verify the operation of the ad-hoc wireless network.
Then, I would start on the forwarding. Here, I would try to use a laptop instead of an ipod to check out the ip forwarding. If that is not practical, maybe a virtual machine running on the host. This would work with a managed network, but I don't know about an ad-hoc net.
Okay, so maybe this wasn't a push as much as it is a nudge.

Hi Nima,
The SSN No. field alreay exists in Infotype 0002 (personal data).
I think the field in your case is hidden.
Follow the steps below.
1. On your IT0002 go to SYSTEM then STATUS and note down the program name and screen number.
2. GO to SPRO - Personnel Management - Personnel Administration - Customising User interfaces - Change screen modifications
3. Find the program name and screen number
4. Click on the details i.e. magnifying glasses icon.
5. find field p0002-perid
6. It must be now HIDE radio button make it STD.

Unable to perform Ad Hoc Analysis through a webform in 11.1.2

Hi,
When I open a webform in SmartView I'm not able to click on "Analyse" in order to switch to Ad Hoc analysis mode whereas I'm able to do it via the web interface.
(Please note that the option "enable for adhoc" is selected)
Is there any additionnal step to make it work?

Hi Laure,
A few things to check:
Can you try open the web form in ad hoc for ad hoc by right clicking the form in the Data Source Manager, Select Ad Hoc?
Ensure the form is enabled for ad hoc.
When you set up Planning & Smartview the first time, the 'default' server for planning will have ad hoc disabled. Try re-adding the server to the Shared Connections - it should add with ad hoc enabled.

Approval for creating users in an organization

Hi,
We have a requirement where approval is required for creating users in Organisation X. Also, the admin has to fill in a field SSN before approving the request. We have implemented this by changing the approval form. But the admin can still approve by selecting it from the approval list directly (without viewing the form), where he wouldn't be prompted for SSN. Is there any way to avoid this so that admin has to provide SSN before approving?

Hi Jason,
The WebLogic LDAP realm implementations (both -- V1 and V2) have only read access on your LDAP server.
You are recommended to use your LDAP server's own management tools to create groups and users on the LDAP server.

Support for creating entity instances through rules

Hi,
Is there support to generate an instance of an entity purely through rules? For example, if I have an entity called "VerificationItems", can I write a rule in OPA that will one instance of this entity per verification item that the applicant needs to produce (like one instance for address proof, one instance for SSN etc).

Thanks! No problem. I understand completely your perspective, especially about the integration stuff.
In case more detail helps:
Each "action" we have has a clear naming structure and actually they all get aggregated up to global in the end using Exists() if the action is on a child entity. They are called action_1 to action_N where N is the total actions in the active delivery. The rule developers update this each time a release is completed.
N is a value set in the rulebase that the calling system can have access to, e.g. N=20. The calling system would then know to look in the response field the value of action_1 through to action_20, and do some further processing based on this. So if action_7 meant at "at least one address needs verifying", it would then look at the address instances returned in the response, and see which one(s) have address_action_7 also set. Both systems are aware of what the actions "are", but OPA contains all of the legal / business rules as to when that action should be raised, and the calling system interprets this and sorts out / transforms the data.
This works well and in terms of performance is optimised, but that said we will be looking at 10.4 and seeing what advantages it could bring over this approach.

SSN remediation

I'm trying to look for all files on my computer containing SSN numbers. Spotlight would seem to be perfect for this. However, I'm having some trouble with the command syntax for mdfind.
I thought that this would do the trick:
mdfind -onlyin ~/ 'kMDItemTextContent == "*"' | grep '[0-9]{3}([-\\. \\|])[0-9]{2}\\1[0-9]{4}'
(i.e. search for SSNs in all files in my user directory)
But kMDItemTextContent == "*"' turns up nothing; the reason why I want all files is because it doesn't appear that one can perform Spotlight searches using regex. Am I wrong?

If your requirement is making an input field as mandatory input field then for this validation you can follow the following procedure..
1> Add an entry like the following in your Message Pool.
MISSING_INPUT as Message Key, Message Type error, must be enterred as Message Text.
2> Add a method called checkInputValues as follows for validation as follows

if you use the above procedure you can perform the validation on a input field and if user does not enter any value and tries to submit the form then the input field will be marked with red color.. Hope this helps..

Importing Ad Hoc Updates In iTunes

I have an app distributed through Ad Hoc for the time being. Unfortunately, I haven't found any way to update an Ad Hoc application. Originally, the application and provisioning profile were dragged to iTunes to add it to the library. The application then synced with an iPhone properly. From now on, any time I drag an updated app to iTunes it thinks for a second and then ceases to do anything. Further syncs show that the same old version is left on the device.
Has anyone successfully updated an Ad Hoc distributed application?

I got it working through the solution given in a few other ad hoc distribution forum posts here. However, I don't want this thread to become another one just going over how to get ad hoc working at first.

Is varchar2(9) or even number(9) bad as a ssn?

I just want to question the wisdom of (<INT>) datatypes.
If I do ...

... in tons of tons code (or even in a small piece of code
that gets used or modified over and over), won't I be setting
my self up for a Y2K like problem if there is ever more than
999,999,999 people with SSN's? What is that ... 1 billion people?

So you're compiling a database that holds details of everybody in the whole world? Spooky. Still you've come to the right place: Oracle started out as a CIA project.
Datatype for SSN: hmmm. I'm not American, so I'm not familiar with your system. On this side of the pond our SSN equivalents (NIN) are of the format AA999999A, which gives us 17,575,982,424 combinations (or thereabouts, I don't know if there are any excluded characters). This is sufficient for a few centuries of UK existence, but not very good for the whole world. But, given an alphanumeric format, VARCHAR2(9) is the only viable definition.
If you have a purely numeric SSN then NUMBER is a goer. Please do not choose VARCHAR2(9) for a purely numeric field - I have a (third party) legacy system here that has that combination for the primary key of the most referenced table, which means having to LPAD everything with zeroes.
