It depends on when you hand off the device cert versus when your overall dev program status expires, since provisioning profiles for device use have 90 day expires, so the answer is which ever comes first
But, again, typically, it is the device provisioning cert/profile at 90 days.

I have a mackbook pro and an iMac if I buy a time capsule 2tb airport, I can use it with time machine and what would be the best way to use it.
There is no particular setup required for TM.. both computers will create their own backup sparsebundle which is like a virtual disk.. Pondini explains the whole thing if you read the reference I gave you.

Up to you.. you can plug the external drive into the TC and enjoy really slow file transfers or you can plug it into your computer and use it as external drive.. which is faster than the TC.. and TM can include it in the backup.

I'm having a similar but slightly different problem. My company just migrated to Gmail, and it's saving mail drafts every 30 seconds into my Trash folder.
I unchecked the "Show in IMAP" preference in the Gmail settings, but my Drafts folder completely disappeared. I went back and checked it and the folder reappeared (with my drafts still in there).
I like the idea if starting an email on my laptop and having the option of finishing it on my iPhone or iPad, so only saving Drafts locally would not be ideal.

I'm using a new computer and to open one website I have to answer the security questions each time saying that the site doesn't recognize this computer.

Each time I try to open my "ubt" website, I get a message that says the site does not recognize this computer so I have to answer the security questions each time. This site works on Safari, but I prefer Firefox.

The ipod is not a backup device. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: Without syncing:File>transfer Purchases

Some question regarding time evaluation

I have two questions regarding time evaluation:
1. Is it possible (if yes, how) to still include a employee in time evaluation even if this employee is inactive (status P0000-STAT2 = 0). We need this in order to calculate weeks of not working (this has to be calculated). I know that for payroll this is possible wih a setting in infotype 0003.
2. Is it possible (and how) to read data back from payroll into time. For example in payroll you export something to ZL table, can you then pick this up in time evaluation schema, as there is also ZL table. Or is there another way to do this?

Why you want to evaluate the time for inactive person.
If you want you can do.
Process :
First of all you have to group your employees. and sub groups.( for inactive emp)
Assign the employee sub group grouping for PCR in Basic Pay ( IMG ).
Then come to Time Evaluation Schema. Put the Day grouping nn nn nn nn in the Parameters. and run the time evaluation. You will get the output in DZL table.
For the above process you need to configure the T510S table.
Yes you can read the payroll into time.
the same concept will run in both of the modules.
the output should appear in the ZL table only.
Here the concept is.....Some companies, they will not use the payroll wage types. only they will use the time wage types.. these wage types has to be configure in the T510S. and we have to do the wage type copying from the part of time management only if they are not using the payroll. So either in Payroll or in Time management the evaluation of time willbe the same.

Financial website doesn't recognize my computer and asks security questions each time I log in

When I sign into a financial website it doesn't remember my mac and requires me to answer security questions each time. I called the website and they said the problem is with my mac's settings. Anyone else have this problem?

They do it for YOUR protectoin and security and to avoid someone else pretending to be you.
They may or may not use cookies and other things.
it is possible it was designed to work with a differenent browser or even platform though I would say that has gotten rarer.

A technical question about time.

I find myself wondering what would be the total playing time of my iTunes library. How can I determine this? I could copy the total file into Excel then add up the time column, but as I have 12,000 tracks I doubt Excel could handle it. Is there a simple way to do this?

My iPod touch 5th gen isn't charging, when I plug in my charger I've always used. It's an apple product and a message pops up saying "This accessory may not be supported" The charger isn't the problem because my mom used her iPhone with my charger and her phone charges fine with it. For Christmas, I got a portable charger and I used it the day after Christmas for a little bit and it worked, but then 20 minutes later my brother wanted to use it. So I let him use it. Then I went to go use my normal charger instead and when I plugged it in that message popped up. It's been like this sense the day after Christmas and the only way it charges is right before I swipe right to turn my iPod all the way off I plug my charger in real fast before the message can pop up. I've tried resetting my iPod, cleaning out the area it charges, and few other things. I've also tried getting help from people that work with technology at some stores. They all told me I had to contact Apple Support Communities. I'm trying to contact you guys, but last time I did it didn't solve my problem. I really want to get an answer to be able to fix it or have it replaced. I'm 13 and saved all my money on my own to get the iPod have. It took me a long time to save and I really don't it to be broken and not be able to get it replaced. Someone please help my resolve this.

Question regarding Time Machine

I have a question about potentially backing up my iMac to two separate external hard drives using Time Machine:
Because I realize Time Machine is not capable of backing up to more than one volume, i.e. you have to keep changing the Preferences settings if you want to switch volumes, I'm wondering if it's possible (or advisable) to use Time Machine in a "staggered" method for backups.
For instance, if someone was backing up their iMac daily, they could go into the Preferences settings and choose one external hard drive for backup on one evening, then the next evening they could go back into the Preferences settings and choose the other external hard drive, etc., switching back and forth on a daily basis.
The reason I would want to have more than one backup is simply because our 2 Lacie external hard drives (which have extended warranties and are automatically switchable from the parent company if one of them goes down) have been experiencing some problems over the past year. In other words, one of them has needed to be sent to Lacie headquarters on more than one occasion. This is why I want more than one backup in place.
And yes, I realize there are more backup options then Time Machine; but when our iMac went down about two years ago, we were more than impressed with Time Machine's design in restoring the iMac very quickly. It's something we are comfortable and familiar with. So we'd like to keep with Time Machine as our backup software.
We just wish that Time Machine was capable of backing up to multiple drives instead of only being "attached" to one single drive. (This really is incredibly frustrating.)
If anyone would like to chime in on this "backup staggering" question, it would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I will add to my reply too. Not to bash any company BUT I too had issue with 2 Lacie drives myself and said that was enough. I have switch to seagate drives, I have three of them running and paired together oldest one being over 3 years old and no problem as of yet.
I truely understand the need of a backup. I have years of back ups and 4 or 5 complete system back ups of the complete operating system- Guessing this is over kill but I could run the past 4 operating systems of apple OS at anytime!

Beginner's question: Using Time Machine with a WD External Drive

Hello folks,
Could someone help me with some basic questions?
I have a MacBook with Mac OSX 10.5.5. It has Time Machine but I've never used it before. I've just obtained a Western Digital External Hard Drive which is Mac compatible but, I'm told, may not be formatted for Mac.
1. If that's the case, how do I format it for Mac so that I can use it with my MacBook? Or can I just plug-and-play?
2. Once ready to use, I'd like to use the external drive for two purposes: (a) to create back-up images of my entire computer using Time Machine, and (b) as a second drive where I can just drag-and-drop selected files when needed (e.g. so that I can put photos in a photo folder on my external instead of on my MacBook hard drive). Will my MacBook let me do this, or will using Time Machine effectively reserve the entire external hard drive for Time Machine and not allow my to drag-and-drop files?

Question 1:
1. Launch Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utility folder.
2. Click the "erase" tab
3. Select your entire WD disk on the sidebar (the uppermost icon).
4. Format: "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)"
5. Name the Disk
6. Click on "erase"
Question 2:
What is the size of your drive? If it is large enough you can partition it but Time Machine backup will "grow". So if it's important to you to save all backups you'll want to give it the whole disk. If not, you can partition the disk at the same time you format it.
Follow the steps here. It will accomplish both Q1 & Q2.

BI Modeling Question - Load time, efficiency

Hi Experts,
This is a two-part question.
Scenario:
I have a Standard DSO- overwrite (DSO1) at accounting line item level which pushes data to another Standard DSO-overwrite (DSO2) at Monthly Level. This Monthly DSO pushes data to a cube for Monthly Open/ Cleared accounting document snapshot.
Which means, if I have an Open item today, my cube should have that in the past month, this month and all previous month snapshots as an open item.
1. Can I do the following with standard 0FI_AR_4 deltas?
When loading data from DSO1 to DSO2 for the first time INIT load, I replicate all records that are open today and put them in ALL previous months as snapshots. From then onwards, I just build a month's snapshot at a time by pushing all deltas as Summing Before and After Image for a record that has changed. And also, pushing all previous records from Changelog that have a record mode status N.
I am just talking conceptually here and dont know of the feasibility of accomplishing the above in ABAP.
2. We could just do a full load everyday replicating Open records less than the current date into all previous months' snapshots.
For both the above possible solutions, which one is the most feasible?
Am I missing out a totally different and more practical/efficient solution?

When I go from DSO1 to Monthly DSO2, in the transformation, I write ABAP, where in I compare the Posting period with the current date and if less, I replicate the record to fall into all of the past 11 months (snapshot). This was for the first INIT load.
From the next load onwards (delta), we build snapshot for only the past two months, so in the Transformation, we write ABAP that looks into Changelog and updates all ' N ' images for the past two months. In addition, we also update the delta records to sum the before and after images for each period.
Is this logic correct? would it be too much to look up changelog everytime a delta happens??
