Ad-ons not appearing

I have just been upgraded on FF, and my ad-ons have disappeared. I've gone to settings and they are still installed and the boxes ticked. I've refreshed firefox. I've closed and opened....they STILL do not appear! I only get add Moz support and change settings.
I use these regularly, and feel like in the night someone has accessed my personal laptop and deleted files!
Please correct immediatey or tell me how to revert back to previous.

If you want to restore the previously used standalone window to manage search engines then you can toggle this pref to false with a middle-click on the about:config page.
about:config page: browser.search.showOneOffButtons = false
You need to close and restart Firefox to make this work properly.
In the address bar, type '''about:preferences#search<enter>'''
If you miss being able to switch search engines without going
crazy with menus, try this out;
'''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/context-search/ Context Search]''' {web link}
Expands the context menu's 'Search for' item into a list of
installed search engines, allowing you to choose the engine
you want to use for each search.

  • Extensions/add ons not appearing in photoshop cc2014

    Hi,
I've been downloading add ons/ extensions especially for photoshop and i'm not able to see ANY of them in the window-->extensions submenu.
Does someone have the same problem?
    Thanks

Are you sure the extensions you have download are versions for CC 2014.  Adobe removed Flash Panel support in CC 2014 many extensions developed for Photoshop CC and prior used Flash Panels they needed to be update to use html panels in CC 2014.

  • Yahoo toolbar appeared without my consent. Can't get rid of it. Does not appear in list of add-ons or in list of programs installed for uninstall. (Win7; FFx5) Please help me delete this annoyance.)

I was prompted to update Java. I got a YAHOO toolbar which I did and do not want. I can't get rid of it. It does not appear on the Add-on list, not in the programs list (to uninstall). Can't find anything with Yahoo in the name. I do not want to use View, because it keeps coming back into view without my consent -- I want it gone permanently.
The uninstall directions in Yahoo help call for click on pencil tool (which tool is not found on this toolbar). Firefox instructions say go to Add-on list, but the Yahoo bar is not there. There are several Java add-ons, but I don't know what they are and what happens if they are uninstalled.
Win 7; Firefox 5.0; Yahoo toolbar ver 2.3.8.20110620112826
Perhaps it is disguised as something else. If so please tell me what to uninstall.

Try RIGHT clicking on different areas of the toolbars on Firefox, mainly try right clicking on/around the url bar & forward/back navigation buttons. When you get the correct spot if will give you a menu with the toolbars available (whether or not they're active) and a couple other options. Just uncheck the Yahoo one & you should be all set.
As you say though it may be some other bar disguised as a yahoo bar. Any chance you can get a screen shot of it & post it here?

  • Noscript does not appear in my add-ons list in firefox 18

I know the Java plugin is disabled in FF 18 but I tried to install the Noscript add-0n. It says it is installed but after I restart FF, Noscript does not appear in my add-ons list. Windows XP

Thanks ideato but that's the problem. Noscript is not in the extensions list. I use the terms "add-ons list" and "extensions list" interchangeably. The author of Noscript advises me that the extensions/add-ons list manager must be corrupted.

  • Add ons do not appear in My Phone

Can anyone confirm that Add-ons to your phone line e.g. Anytine Unlimited Calls or International Freedom do not appear under the My Phone ssection of your My BT portal and are only listed on your monthly bill?
All that I have as evidence until my next bill, that my existing Add-ons which had been "lost" when my broadband was upgrade to BT Infinity, have been reinstated, is the saved transcript of a chat session with BT customer support. I am concerned that use of these in the meantime may lead to substantial charges which will thenn have to be reimbursed by yet further calls to BT.
Can anyone from BT provide an explanation as to why this is the case and why this feature cannot be implemented in the My BT/My Phone part of the customer's portal i.e. so that the customer can see what phone services they are subscribed to and paying for? Being retired it is a good while since I did n-tier application development but the relational data model required here here is surely quite trivial.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Regardless of the technical challenges of extracting the customer phone package add-on data for presentation in My BT/My Phone the Community Manager that posted on this in the forums back February 2013 really ought to provide an update on why nothing has happened in 15 months given that it was seen then as a priority. Says it all really about BT and it their committment to customer service.
As to the reasons why this  has not happened. Openreach is staffed by engineers who are pretty competent and understand what they are doing as they manage the underlying infrastructure. The BT service layers on top of this have a top heavy mamangement structure with upteen layers and lots of overpaid idiots working for them: my brother-in-law is a case in point, six figure salary in BT middle management, can just about tie his shoelaces and spends half the year in Mumbai outsourcing services. It is almost impossibel to drive any change through this management morass that is not coming from the top down.
On a practical level I would guess that the phone billing system is probably written in Cobol and dates form the 1970's, runs batch jobs to produce monthly bills and may not even have a relational database behind it and is not really part of any real-time data flow hence why the My Phone part of My BT only includes the phone package associated with your My Broadband package and a link to your monthly bills. it is just there to make the My BT portal look visually consistent.
Whilst this billing system might be tricky to get data out of for the My BT web app there are several ways that this could be done and there is no real excuse for not doing so other than it is obviously not a priority regardless of the statements made in these forums to the contrary.

Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have. '''(Not all programs detect the same Malware.)'''

  • Three unwanted programs joined the 30.0 update from a reminder button on taskbar, and do not appear in downloads.

Today, 6/18/2014, on my laptop, running Win8.0, a Firefox icon appeared on the taskbar, saying a new version 30.0 was available. I clicked on it, but missed as it closed. Upon opening the hidden icons, I clicked on the Firefox icon, the words 'update Firefox 30.0' appeared as I clicked on the icon. Then all hell broke loose. Adblock plus didn't stop anything, so the items were believed to be from Mozilla. A box appeared on top, saying "Update Windows 8 Drivers", and was flashing. The download box for Firefox may have been opened, and before allowing an install, several programs and add-ons were offered, but I tried to decline them. I clicked on the driver update, and Advanced System Protection from 'powerbundle.systweak.com, Driver support from secure.driversupport.com and System Speedup from www.systemspeedup.com were all downloaded without asking. They did not appear in the 'Downloads' history. Also, a Microsoft box appeared asking to download to Win Explorer, (like am I nuts?), I use Mozilla on purpose. Closed that box. Next, the Adv. Sys. Protector was analyzing my computer, with a Microsoft logo on the screen. It said I had 167 registry problems. After viewing, I decided to close all open windows. Then, in Programs, I found the three new programs and uninstalled them. When I opened Help About, in Firefox, the new version was just starting to install.
These boxes appeared so fast, and weren't touched by Adblock, at first I thought you might have bundled some features, and add-ons. You should find out who is gaming your installation process and shut them down. Microsoft has been trying to get me to update to win8.1, but I have declined, so I thought the box I was seeing was a recommendation from you to install win8.1 for protective purposes, though that is exactly why I have chosen not to do the upgrade. This question is being sent from the desktop computer that is now since I just checked, starting to update to 30.0. The programs, and Firefox do not appear in the downloads box, so maybe they were entering via Explorer? You don't stick anything else on your updates, so I wasn't expecting this.

Go to Mozilla.org and download the '''full''' installer and save it.
Completely remove Firefox. Run as may of the mal-ware program below
as you can. Install Firefox from the installer you downloaded. After,
check ALL of your add-ons and the programs on your computer. Make
sure you know what they are for. Use a web search if you need to.

  • Fire FTP does not appear in the Firefox 4 Tools Menu, where is it?

I have just upgraded Firefox from 3.6.16 to Firefox 4
    (OS Win XP)
I had Fire FTP as an add on, but after upgrading it disappeared from the Tools Menu (along with all my accounts details)
I then re installed the Fire FTP Add On but it does not appear in the Tools Menu, where has it gone?
Firefox 4 appears to have reinstalled previously removed Extensions/Add ons
The Tools Menu doesnt have anything in it.
How can I roll back from Firefox 4

To clarify Afallach's reply, the FireFTP menu is now under '''Tools->Web Developer->FireFTP.'''
I don't know why the development team chose to move it there, but they've been making a lot of stupid design decisions recently.

  • Adobe extension show in the Extension Manager and are enabled but do not appear at all in Photoshop CC 2014.

Adobe extensions show in the Extension Manager and are enabled but do not appear at all in Photoshop CC 2014.  Third party extensions do show up and can be used.  All extensions are available in and can be used Photoshop CC.  I have reinstalled CC and Extension Manager to the most recent releases and the Adobe extensions are still not available in Photoshop CC 2014.  What should I do now?

Flash based extensions are not supported by PS CC 2014 anymore. Please refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2014/04/photoshop-spring-cleaning.html, http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2014/06/installing-the-2014-release-of-creative-cloud.html
And http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2014/06/2014-release-of-photoshop-cc-faq.html#plugins (scroll down to "Why don’t my 3rd Panels show up in the 2014 release of Photoshop CC? What happened to Oil Paint, Mini-Bridge & Kuler?”)
There is a new Kuler HTML5 panel available on Add Ons: http://adobe.ly/UgxQSN
Adobe is working on HTML  based version of Adobe Watermark, eMailer, etc.
If some extensions are must have for you, you have to continue to use PS CC until HTML based counterparts become available.

  • Adobe Reader add-on does not appear in IE9

After updating Adobe reader 11, I can no longer open pdf in Explorer (works in Chrome).  When I go to Manage Add-Ons, Reader does not appear on the list, therefore I can't enable or disable.
Any suggestions on how to get it to appear and work in IE9?  This was never an issue prior to the "upgrade"

Try going into Settings > iCloud and toggling the Contacts button off and on and see if you can then add contacts in the Contacts app

  • Add new tab button does not appear at the right of the previous tab

Just upgraded to Firefox 4 and the plus sign (T) for a new tab does not appear on the right of the previous tab as it had in earlier versions. I thought it was there briefly after I upgraded but it's not there anymore. How do I get it back? I did download the extension "new tab at the end" but that didn't help....

That button should be available by default. However, if you use tab related Add-ons it may not show up as expected. You can add it back by right clicking on the navigation bar, clicking Customize, then drag the New Tab icon to the right end of tab bar.
If that doesn't work, please try starting Firefox in Safemode to see if add-ons are indeed interfering.

  • I wish to unistall Firefox so I can make a clean install to get rid of all the Yahoo tabs, but Mozilla Firefox does not appear in the list of programs in Window

I have tried the suggestions posted in mozilla support for removing Yahoo from the new tab and the default search, but I have not been successful. So, I thought I would uninstall Firefox from my computer and make a clean install. However Mozilla Firefox does not appear as one of my Currently installed programs in Control Panel\ Add or Remove Programs, and C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe does not open or run. I fear I may have been the victim of some ?Yahoo malware. Any suggestions gratefully received.
I have Firefox 22.0 and my computer runs XP sp3.

Do you have the Default Tab extension?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
