if a user tries to access a protected document which he has not opened earlier it does not open. I have tried this with both checking and unchecking the option "require a new license every time content is consumed". Can you please clarify this point.

In continuation to my above query. I was able to protect the content offline by enabling offline folder option on RMS server for tempalte folder and unchecking "require a new license every time content is consumed". However another point where users not
able to access a protected document when RMS is down in case they have not accessed that document ealier still persist. Is it a desired behavior or we can make it work.

Thunderbird on Win 8.1 with Windows Defender is not downloading attachments from my roadrunner email account. It does so when running under Ubuntu 12.04 though. On Windows no attachments are shown. Also on Windows there is content that is not shown, I know so as there is an empty box. Then there is no option to download offline content. How may I use Thunderbird to read my email if it won't display properly? I trust the source of these emails as they are from the legal department of my former employer. I asking for the content to be resent does not work either. Please help me.

Offline Content Player & Java Version Issue

Hi Friends,
Does anyone know that the LSO Offline Content Player works only on Java Version 1.4.2 and not on any other?
Also, if the Organisation goes in for a Java Upgrade ( say Version 1.5), would the Offline Content Player Application not fail?

The Offline Content Player does work with newer versions of the JRE, however you will have to test the OCP prior to any additional JRE rollout. This should be part of your companies software deployment strategy.

AD RMS Offline - Use license for each file?

Hello.
We have protected with AD RMS many Excel files, all with the same RMS template and permissions. This template include a use license with expiration in 15 days.
I need to allow opening any of this files while offline. The problem is that I think the use license acquired when opening an Excel file is just for that document, not for all the documents protected with the same template.
How can I get sure, all users would open without forcing RMS sever connection when they are offline?
I have many users that should work offline, and there are more than 200 files, so I cannot explain them to open all files every 14 days for avoid license expiration.

I dont think that that is possible. On one hand you want that users can still access the file and on the other hand you do not want that. Btw from your screenshot setting the use license to max 1 day means a user needs to get a new use license after one
day and for that he/she has to be authenticated again. But it is not the expiration of the content. For the content expiration it does not matter if you are online or offline.
Those settings are embedded in the document and once the template is applied you can only change it in the document but not in the database.

Premiere Elements 12 Offline Content Download???

Installed a hardcopy version of Premiere Elements 12 on an offlline computer. The only problem is that I cannot download any extra content! In version 9, I was able to copy the link, go to my online computer, and download it there. Version 12 provides no link. How am I supposed to get my content? Please help!

I'm not sure why you can not connect your computer to the internet (It would sure be much simpler) -- but that said:
Yes, you can download all content to your internet-connected computer by going to, say, the Tools/Movie Menu workspace, right-clicking on a template and selecting Download All.
Once you've done, so you'll need to copy the entire DVD Templates folder from that computer to your other.
You haven't advised us what operating system you're working on so I can't give you specifics other than saying that, in Windows 7 or 8, this file is located in C:/PROGRAM DATA/ADOBE/PREMIERE ELEMENTS/12.0/ONLINE/DVD TEMPLATES.
On a Mac, this folder is in HD/LIBRARY/APPLICATION SUPPORT/ADOBE/PREMIERE ELEMENTS/12.0/ONLINE/DVD TEMPLATES.
If you've downloaded the other additional content also, you'll find them in the other folders in that ONLINE directory, next to the DVD TEMPLATES folder.
You will still need some sort of internet connection -- even if it's a temporary one -- to activate Premiere Elements 12 on this computer though. I don't know of a way around that.

Airplay from ipad/iphone only works with offline content

Hi guys
Strangely, my atv3 will only stream, from my ipad, downloaded YouTube files. If I want to stream some live online content (I.e you tube clip), then there is an "error occurred loading this content".
Any ideas?

Media Encoder saying .mov clip is offline during export whn it isn't

Premiere Pro CC user here. Sorry for the lack of detail. I'm on break at work on a different computer and unable access the project until tonight but need an answer asap.
I'm trying to export a H264 video which renders and plays fine on the timeline in Premiere, only, when I queue the content on Media Encoder, I get a message saying that there is some offline content in the sequence, If I go ahead with the export, the said clip is displayed with a 'Media Offline' card.
The actual clip is .mov lower third graphic downloaded from a graphics site that I've never experienced problems with before and, as I said, it renders and plays fine on the timeline. Premiere never seems to have any problem locating it as it's stored in the same place as everything else. The only indication I have that there's anything at all different about the clip is that it appears purple on the timeline.
This might be something obvious but it's nothing I've ever come across and google isn't yielding any answers so I was hoping somebody might have a solution.

I have the same problem, it happens to me only with mpeg from captured the sony hvr and h.264 in mp4 format. Looks and plays fine in premiere pro, can export straight from premiere but when loaded into AME shows media offline.
Yesterday I tried this and it worked:
deleted media cache both ame and premiere pro
un-ticked "enable native premiere pro sequence import"
closed ame
closed premiere
restarted premiere and sent sequence to ame, everything works fine.
Notice: it only seems to happen when importing a set of large files, and trying to export while premiere is still conforming. maybe.

Offline Material Message when trying to Export

I am trying to export a sequence and whenever I try to export it I receive the "Offline material is present..." warning dialogue. I'm well aware of what offline material is, how to relink, etc. I visually inspected every single piece of media in the project and every piece of media is online.
I exported the sequence anyway and when I played it back all of the media was in the final output file.
Is there a way in the project to search for offline content? I don't think there is but figured maybe someone else has encountered this and/or knows of a resolution.
I would like to locate the media (if any) that Premiere is saying is offline thus throwing the offline material warning.

I think there is a confusion / conflict in advice here. The thread starts with the tile including "Media Offline" messages and farther below that in the proposed resolutions - a suggestion is promoted to resolve "Media Pending" messages - and as far as I am aware these are different and show in different places..?
"Media Offline" messages as put forward to be the issue are happening for me at the export to Media Encoder initiation. Inspecting all content within the project - nothing is listed as offline or missing and certainly opening the project no media is pending.
I am not a seasoned pro - and am in my first year with PP - so please don't skin me alive if I have this wrong...

Using Device Central CS5.5 offline or Obtain online libraries for local (offline) use

Device Central CS5.5 cannot navigate my proxy server, and my security unit is never going to provide an exception to allow it.
I need Device Central to at least start-up so I can review some mobile website designs. But all I get upon starting DC is two requests for my proxy credentials then a message stating DC cannot connect to the online library. Clicking OK to the "no connection" message shuts DC down. Why? Why can I not use the software without a constant connection to the Internet?

where do I put them so CS5.5 can find and use them?
How do I get CS5.5 to stop trying to connect to the Internet at start up when I cannot get to the properties to change the setting?

CS5 Help is usually located at /usr/<username>/Library/Preferenecs/chc.487...../Local Store/Help folder.
CS6 help is usually downloaded to the shared location, unless it is restricted. In that case the above folder may be used for downloading help.
Yes, the offline content setting in Adobe Help Manager, will work for both CS5 and CS6 help and help clients.
'Expired Status' usually refers to the state when local content goes stale, and there is new offline content available on Adobe.com servers. Yes, a user may click on Download/Update button to update the expired content from Adobe Help Manager.
Regarding the CS5 product help launch, I will need some more information to provide a reply.
1. Which product and version of CS5 is the customer facing problem with.
2. What is the status of help downloaded for the same product (CS5 or CS6 in Adobe Help Manager)
3. Is the user able to see downloaded help in the above mentioned folders

SAP LSO a Ehp7 level - content player

Hello Everybody,
I have a question about LSO content player. What are the file formats that LSO content player accepts? HTML5/Flash any other? I have been searching for info on this but could not find any definitive info so far.
then if I have a non-sap elearning tool that generates WBT content can I use that content within SAP LSO content player to be used within LSO specific WBT courses? Have you ever come across such a situation? If yes can you please provide any pointers/gotchas or share your experience please?

can you please explain what "if correctly authored" means? my client has got a non-sap elearning tool which delivers training content. The requirement is to take this content and use it in LSO for web based trainings.
My understanding to achieve the above is:
1. You get LSO content player.(without the lso authoring environment)
2. You have a content server on which you put the training content.
3. you have a course type of WBT which can be scheduled to use the elearning content.
4. an attendee to the course will be able to play this course through ess-NWBC, via the content player.
5. lso then keeps track of the training progress and does an automatic follow-up.
My assumptions are:
1. at ehp7 level I do not need to worry about the authoring environemnt or publishing bit in LSO
2. content player will work via nwbc.
3. do i need offline content player? I think not right?

SAP LSO Learning Solution - Content Player

We don't want to use the Java based online/offline content player for viewing/displaying course content. Does anyone know if the content is compatible with either Flash or Media Player? What is the format of how the content is delivered?

PSE7 Thumbnail problem Offline Media bug(?) in restoring from PSE5 to PSE7

My problem is this: (It is similar to http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7e77a, but the solution there is not applicable to my situation; at least I do not think so)
I have used the Photoshop Elements 5 backup method for storing the photos and catalog information, and I am trying to get it working in PSE 7 on my reformatted computer. Upon restoring the information, however, although all my files are unpacked at the location I choose, my entire catalog is listed as offline in PSE7 (with the red offline symbol shown on each ?-marked thumbnail). This seems to what is called Wrong drive type in catalog on the psedbtool homepage (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/). Sure enough, checking the properties of the photo-files in the catalog, the old D:\... path is shown. I do not have two partitions on the computer anymore, however, so anything listed as D:\... is surely external (if not, as you note, properly denoted as offline).
The problem is listed on the psedbtool homepage as minor in effect, which sounds hopeful, but they are major at the moment to my subjective eye, since I cannot access any of my photos from PSE. The data is there, of course, but I cannot reconnect using the proper command, since it does not label anything as missing files. Only "offline". What I would like to do, if possible, is to rewrite the metadata so that I can tell PSE where my files are, since the internal structure seems to be perfectly correct. (Unfortunately, I cannot redo the procedure since I do not have access to the original catalog files anymore, only the photos themselves in addition to the backup file. I hate to lose all my metadata, however, including all my albums etc.)
Immensely grateful for a suggestion on how to fix it.

As may be noted in the output below (which is changed from the one posted before, in addition to being the full output this time), I have managed to get some photos reconnected. Reading through your help FAQ I noticed that I could make the offline content online by trying out Quickly reconnecting large numbers of photos suggestion 4 (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_Quickly_reconnecting_ large). It worked sort of, but unfortunately I have almost a thousand folders to go through (due to the import option creating a new folder for each day a photo is imported), so I wonder if there may be a better way of re-pointing the catalog.

[iOS][Your Music] Give us a way to browse our "premium zone" offline music

I used to be able to easily find my offline albums on the go by searching for the little green symbol next to an album or playlist name. Now that symbol has been removed, and there is apparently no way to navigate the new offline music section beyond "Listen Now" and "suggested for you." What is the point of the offline music tab if it has actually taken away the ability to browse your offline music, and what is unique about this apparently functionless "premium zone?" Cheers for reading. This is on Iphone5s, on version 8.4
