Adapter for new itouch on old docking station?

I am sure this issue has been discussed many times over, but here goes. My newer generation ipods will not charge on older docking stations(multiple) They will play music just fine but they will not draw a charge from these stations. There must exist some sort of an adapter that will allow them to charge and play music simultaneously on the docking station. Does anyone know if this product exists?
Thank You

You can email them to see if these will work with your docking station.

Sounds like you did NOT buy the Apple genuine item
The unlicenced ebay knock-offs typically charge but no audio
I use the genuine item in several scenarios including in car ,on a Bose SoundDock
    All work perfectly

  • Looking for Dockable Case, What about old Docking Station from ipod?

    Hey everyone,
You must know by now that most plastic cases wont let you dock your ipod because the new docking station is too tight. Has anyone tried using the old dock from the video ipod or older and than docking with a plastic case? If so, what's a good case to buy to protect from dropping which would fit in the old docking stations?

I just bought a Speck Toughskin, which I really like. It feels pretty rugged and seems like it would protect the iPod if I dropped it (I'm a klutz). It has a detachable belt clip on the back. I also like the hard screen protector--it has a little rubber rim on the bottom so it doesn't actually touch the screen, which should keep it from getting scratched. My only concern is how well the iPod will dissipate heat while charging, but I figure I can punch a few small holes in the back if it becomes an issue.
The only downsides to this particular case are that you cannot put it in a dock, it does bulk up the iPod a bit, and it completely covers the iPod so it's not the best choice for someone that wants to maintain the standard appearance of their iPod. But for good solid protection, it seems pretty hard to beat (no pun intended).

  • Multiple external displays for X220 + ThinkPad Series 3 Docking Station

I have ThinkPad X220 [PN#4290HT6] and will plan to use 02 external monitors.
My plan is to buy ThinkPad Series 3 Docking Station and 02 external monitors.
Is ThinkPad Series 3 Docking Station working with 02 external monitors by my X220?
Which ports of Docking to be used [VGA or DVI]?
    Thank you!!

I would be verry happy if you could post the results of your check (the "amperage" especially).
Yes, I am aware that there are 2 versions (with and without eSATA). The one I have ordered is unfortunately the newer one, with USB 3.0 (no eSATA). But from reading other threads I know that the eSATA port on the docking station is limited - it is not powered (eSATA-p, but plain eSATA), in contrast to the laptop port, so I will not be missing this feature so much as I thought I would. I will still connect directly to the laptop port instead. Why?
I'm using one-cable connection (powered eSATA cable eSATA-p connector to normal SATA drive connector) to connect external 2.5" drive to easily boot the alternative system. Great solution, by the way, and very cheap, cost of ca. 10EUR incl shipment (Delock is the only brand I've found that produces such cables). I never liked the need to have additional power adapter or USB power connection for SATA connection - too many cables for me. So initially I was looking for the older version of docking station. But after reading about the above limitations of eSATA port on docking station, I gave up, because I would still need additional USB cable to power it up when connecting to the docking station.
Unfortunaltely, all W-series compatible docking stations are very rare on the used market here in Poland, so I didn't have too many possibilities to choose from.

  • My ipod nano this morning has started to tell me the accessory (lightening to 30-pin adaptor) I use for playing it through my docking station is not supported. It worked fine up until last night. Does anyone know why this might be?

Clean any debris from the adapter, docking station connector and the connector on the Nano.

I bought an adapter for my itouch 5 so that i won't need a computer to charge my itouch gen5 - however, i noticed that it was acting up in such a way that i was having difficulty swiping the screen and even tapping the icons. Is the only option for charging is the USB charger/connector? Or is there a specific device that I should use?

iPhone 5 and the 5th gen iPod touches are having this problem without a charger, and will probably be fixed in the 6.1 update. See http://www.imore.com/iphone-5-touchscreen-behaving-badly-under-multiple-rapid-sw ipes

  • Does the adapter for my iPhone 5 allow me to play music on my old docking stations?

I have had my 5 for awhile now, and have been using the adapter for charging purposes.  However, I just recently tried plugging it into a music dock and can't seem to get it to work.  Does the adaptor allow me to use my old accessories, or is Apple making me buy all new equipment?  What about car hookups?

If you are refering to an Apple (genuine ) adapter then I use several ,in car
and where the device has a 30 pin plug (as in Bose sound Docks ) also.
Not had any problems or issues at all
BUT I have only used the genuine Apple product  both the standard and the 0.2m version

  • FOR SALE - Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, Docking Station and Keyboard Folio Case

As my daughter is insisting on a laptop, her Thinkpad Tablet and Accessories will have to go....
The tablet is the 16GB WiFi Version (1838-5SG). The Docking Station is the standard one (0A33965), as is the Keyboard Folio Case (which is a Western European keyboard type - ASM P/N 0B33512 FRU P/N 03X6354).
The Tablet has one very tiny scratch on the screen, hardly noticeable, other than that is in perfect condition (the Styuls Pen is only 4 months old). The Docking Station has a slot cut out to enable a mini HDMI Cable to be connected through the facia (to the tablet), and other than that, is in perfect condition. The Folio Keyboard Case is in perfect condition. All cables, etc are included, and the Docking Station power cable has an EU plug (note that if you live in a Country which doesn't have EU Plug sockets, a standard plug can be purchased separately from the adaptor, they normally cost pennies....)
All boxes, packaging, instructions, etc are included, including the receipts for warranty purposes. The tablet and docking station are less than 1 year old, as verified by the receipts.
I can send full info, including photos, etc, if needed.
If anyone is interested, please make me an offer.

I was thinking i could use this Motorola Wireless Keyboard, it only needs an HID bluetooth connection, the ThinkPad Tab supports HID?

  • New iOS update = no docking station compatability...!!

After the 6.1 iOS update my iPhone4 no longer works with my iLive docking station. It doesn't charge or play my music through the dock's speakers. I tried restarting my phone and it still doesn't work. I put a friend's iPod on the dock and that worked fine. So I know it has something to do with this update. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?? This is really frustrating...

I have the same issue with a philips  AJ7040D. just purchased from amazon. The dock alarm clock does not recognize my iphone 4s with ios 6.1.1. Error : "this accessory is not supported by iphone" message shows up on the iphone. Called Philips support and they said the  AJ7040D is no longer compatable with 6.1.1.

  • Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter for new MacBook

    Hi,
I have an old MacBook (2 years old) and am planning to upgrade to the new MacBook.
Can my current Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter be used for this new MacBook as well?
This is so that I don't have to order another Adapter if they are the same still.
    Thanks!
    QF

A two-year old MacBook will have a Mini DVI port on it, not a Mini DisplayPort. So you will need a new adapter. Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter.

  • Internet access for new MacBook and old iMac

I put part of this question under "Using your MacBook" and have received what may be the answer to connecting my new MacBook with my old G3 iMac. But as I was describing that situation, something else occurred to me.
Is it possible to connect both an AirPort station, allowing me to use the MacBook anywhere in the house, and my iMac to the same cable modem, which of course has a single Ethernet port? Is there some sort of Y-connector or router that I need to do that? Or maybe that's breaking the rules of my ISP -- I'm using a Comcast connection to access Earthlink and .Mac.
    Thanks for any advice.

Yes, that is how a combined wired/wireless router works, you have 3 wired ports on the Airport Extreme Base Station, and can also use wireless Airport simultaneously. you hook the incoming Ethernet source from the cable modem to the router. Linksys, Netgear, D-Link all make similar wired/wireless routers that are compatible with PC and Mac, with different features, number of ports, max number of wireless connections, etc. The Airport works great and comes with a Mac OS X configuration utility Airport Utility that makes configuring it fairly easy. You can make the wireless network private, password protected, and encrypted for security of your network.

  • Does an adapter for a pair of old apple pro speakers(model no:M6531) for a macbook pro (model no: A1278) exist?

I recently bought the speakers stupidly thinking they would just work with my macbook -the socket in my macbook book isn't compatible. I'm not great with technology, so simply straight forward help will be MUCH appreciated!

    Hi Kappy,
I appreciate your input in telling me that the new 'L' shape design is more safer than the old 'T' shape design, I didn't know that either. However, there are quite a few third parties out there on google selling what they describe as. 'Genuine apple adapters for many of apple's computers not just the MacBook Pro, Amazon market sellers in the UK are just one, but I think you can find them in the US as well by third party sellers. Anyway, it was these options that I was looking at which prompted my original question besides taking into consideration the cost difference.  I mean if you can find a genuine apple adapter elsewhere for a more reasonable price you are going to save some money aren't you?  However, that said, I would prefer the product to be genuine if it is stated as so and, I would want it to last as long as possible if I am paying good money for it.  Therefore, I am taking a risk in buying from a third party if I go ahead and purchase what they have to offer, whereas if I purchased from Apple then I would expect it to be the real thing.  However, I wanted to explore all the questions and answers first before I decide which party I will buy the product from.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • HP p6210f BIOS will not give me option to change "primary display adapter" for new geforce gt620

    HP Pavilion p6210f NY544AA#ABA
    Windows 7 64-bit
    Changes: Upgraded to 430 watt
In order to upgrade my pc performance I purchased a PNY GeForce GT 620 with 1GB GDDR3. Following the instructions for pc's with onboard graphic I wanted to change the "primary display adapter" in the BIOS to PCI-e. I checked the HP website to find out where this setting is located in the BIOS. I found out that my BIOS does not even show this setting in contradiction to the image on the HP website. I installed the drivers anyway and restarted the pc hoping it would recognise the card automatically which it didn't. The card is supplied with power since it gets warm and the fan spins but the monitor only works on the onboard video-out.
Question: How can i get the pc to run with the new card? Do i have to upgrade the BIOS? (Momentary Bios is 5.7)

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2327c Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model shipped from the factory with Windows 8 installed. You will need to remove the graphics card, DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the BIOS, then reinstall the new graphics cards. Please see Computer Does not Start After Installing a Video Card (Windows 8) for more information about your issue.

  • New iPod with old Dock?

My son has a new 30gb iPod Video. Since Apple cheaped out and didn't include a dock or charger, can he plug the new model into my 3rd gen touchwheel dock for charging? My dock is firewire, and I believe the new iPod is USB, but it appears the connectors match.
    30gb iPod video   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

As far as I know, the main difference in the dock is the width/thickness of the area surrounding the dock connector. Does the 30GB 5G come with anything to put into an older dock to make the fit more snug?
I'm not certain about the actual connector, but I believe that it should fit.
Another question is: with an older dock (3g, etc.) can you use the line out for video from the 5g ipod?
