Adapter inactive

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my sender SOAP adapter.
In Int Directory, the channel is ACTIVE but in RWB, CC monitoring (soap adapter), this status is INACTIVE OR UNINITIALIZED.
I have changed this value and activated the change lists, and refreshed CPACache as well with no success.
Could you please help me on this?
Thanks in advance
Naveen

Hi,
I also encounter the same problem few days back(Adaapter was active but showing yellow triangle--in RWB).
Just send one message, definitely it will change the status to green or Red;-)

• Jdbc adapter inactive

Hi, friends!
In jdbc adapter, After i saved a communication channel and activated.
In configuration it showing status as active, but in rwb in adapter monitoring
it showing status as inactive(gray colour), please tell me can i change it into green colour?
Thanks.

Look into Communication Channel Monitoring Not in Adapter monitoring.. in RWB.
Under RWB ---> Component Monitoring
Just beside the adapter monitoring button there a communication channel monitoring button, use this one to chek your adapter. Now adapter monitoring is a part of CC monitoring so in adaptor monitoring all adapters will look into gray color.

• JMS adapter does not recover from error

Hello everyone,
We are noticing some strange behavior with the JMS adapter, and would like your help. We have messages coming into XI from WebSphere MQ. We have configured a Sender Comm channel (MQ_SENDER) with the appropriate JMS adapter, with a specified queue name (TEST.Q) . We have installed the appropriate MQ-JMS libraries for v6.0.
Here's the problem scenario... initially the application sending the messages to the specified queue was putting an incorrectly formatted MQRFH2 structure in the message. Predictably, this caused our comm channel to fail, and it shows up on the adapter monitor in the failed state with the message "MQJMS1050: The MQRFH2 header has an incorrect format Code: MQJMS1050". This in itself is not a problem, we realized that the application was sending a malformed message. The problem occurs when we fixed the sending application to completely strip out the MQRFH2 header altogether. When the new message is sent, the comm channel seems "stuck" on the previous error, and does not even pick up the new message from the queue. The adapter monitor continues to show the same error for the comm channel. Now when we modified the comm channel to read from a DIFFERENT queue (TEST2.Q) , the comm channel got out of the error state and is able to successfully process new messages coming into that queue. However, when we revert the comm channel back to the original queue (TEST.Q) it reverts back to the original MQJMS1050 error, and does not pick up new messages on the queue.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Hi,
1) Try to refresh the metadata
2) Check the Queue status
3) Once again check the Queue name. try to make the Sender JMS adapter inactive .save it..again make it active and save it and activate the object.
4) Refresh the Cache :
a)Start transaction SXI_CACHE.
b)From the context menu XI Runtime Cache select Start Complete Cache Refresh.
If you still face issue try this .
Many actions require to access System Landscape Directory content from the Integration Builder. To optimize performance, this content is loaded into a cache so that the System Landscape Directory does not have to be accessed directly each time that System Landscape Directory content is required.
However, this cache is not automatically updated if changes are made to the content of the System Landscape Directory. For this reason that we delete the System Landscape Directory cache if changes have been made to content in the System Landscape Directory. The cache is then filled each time that the System Landscape Directory is accessed. If we log on to the Integration Builder after we have made a change in the SLD, we do not need to delete the SLD cache.
To clear the SLD cache, from the Integration Builder main menu, choose Environment ® Delete Cache for SLD Data.
Once we have deleted the cache for SLD data, accessing objects in the SLD may take longer than usual initially.

• XI 30 SP14: JDBC Sender Adapter

Hi all,
we made a jdbc adapter that start a stored procedure and return a value; the QoS is EO. 'til SP12, all works fine, but when we patch to SP14, our bpm, that consist of few steps of which the first is the receiver for the JDBC sender adapter, goes in loop, generating hundreds of messages in a few seconds, until we made the adapter inactive.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
we don't had this problem but a lots of others - so be sure you have installed the latest Patch Level (i think #4 is the current) of SP14. But it's really buggy.

• File -to- File is not working. Why????

Hi SAP gurus,
We have Installed XI 3.0 successfully on one blade server (Stack 04 configuration).
We tried file-file scenario but nothing seems to be happenning.
How to know whether File Adapter has been Initialized or not? And whether it’s able to pick a file.
As SXMB_MONI transaction is not displaying any messages. Runtime workbench (message monitoring) too doesn’t display anything.
We also tried making adapter inactive <--> active but of no use.
Do we need to make any special visual admin adapter settings?
Plz help
Sudhir

Hi
am tryin a similar scenario, nothin seems to work , ve tried to explain wat object i ve created in IR & ID, ne clarifications are welcome.
SLD - > I Created a product, SWC , then 2 tech systems(Third Party), then 2 Business Systems( One for file sender & other as file receiver)
Design Time -> 2 DTs , 2 MTs, 2 MIs, and then a straightforward mapping program(a Message Mapping & then an Interface Mapping)
Config Time -> Assign Both Bus Systems, created 2 comm channels ( sender & receiver ), then created a Sender Agreement( to associate the sender channel).
After this created a Receiver Determination, specifed the sender service & interface. In the "Configured receivers" , added the receiver Business system as "Service" . Then created a interface determination.
Is there anything i ve missed in my above configuration ?
Now after doin all this , tried activating the channels, nothin seems to happen & monitoring gives no message. Hit point blank , Now i ve some trivial queries,
1) When i choose the Transport Protocol as "NFS" , i beleive the file to be polled has to be on the XI Server host m/c ?
2) When i choose the protocol as FTP , i can ve my own FTP server( am using guildFTP server) , IS there any specific FTP server to be used or can i use any server available( say a UNIX m/c with FTP port enabled) ?
3) How is the directory format specified, It has to be prefixed by a / rite ? , say assuming i ve a folder called upload where in my input files are kept , i specify as /upload ?
4) By "adapter engine has to be up", Is it the adapter engine which is brought up from the tech_adapter folder using the run_adapter.bat file ?
5) Where do i go and view the log file/trace file ?
Thanks

• Files not getting picked from the FTP site

Dear All,
We are having one File-XI-RFC scenario running in XI-PRD Server. Sometimes what happens is that files available in the FTP site are not getting picked by the File adapter. I have checked in the adapter monitoring and communication channel is active there. Also, there are no errors regarding this in SXMB_MONI. I have configured alerts also but for this case no alerts are getting trigerred. And also when I am reactivating that particular communication channel then that file is getting picked instantaneously.
Can anybody please guide me on what might be the real cause for this as this error is happening randomly.
regards,
N.Jain.

HI,
Have you used per File transfer parameter in FTP Communication channel.
It makes the FTP adapter inactive in ideal time.
So add the poll interval may be for every 30 mins or something like it. It will forcefully activate the FTP port after every 30 mins. You may have the poll interval for every 1 min. Only the files to be picked up are getting logged in in XI monitoring.
So there will be no garbage collection of unwanted messages in Monitoring.
Thanks

• Strobe does not recover from incorrect bitrate measurement

While doing some testing of dynamic Flash streaming on low bandwidth devices I found a scenario where Strobe gets stuck trying to switch to the highest bitrate stream when there is not enough bandwidth. I have a video showing what happens at the link below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n_sFH6aYj4
What you will see in the video is the Strobe debug player viewing dynamic Flash streams with bitrates from 200Kbps to to 3000Kbps on the traditional Akamai Flash network. The computer has a bandwidth limiter enabled limiting the download bandwidth to 1000Kbps and in the video you will see a system monitor showing the network history. Basically what happens is the download bandwidth (averageDownloadKbps) being measured by the player jumps to around 156000Kbps thus fooling the player into trying to switch to the 3000Kbps stream, but there is not enough actual bandwidth to play that stream. Then the player ends up in a continuous buffering state trying to make the switch.
It should be mentioned that with OVP the incorrect download bandwidth measurement occurs as well, but OVP seems to have a failsafe in its switch algorithm that uses a near empty buffer to override the download measurements for switching and force a switch the lowest bitrate.
Note, I still need to discuss why this is happening with Akamai. This should be a corner case that we never see.

• Resending the same file more times

hi helo all.
ima having doubt in my scenario.
here i have createdfiel to file, rfc but i had done all my xi design in development server.
my doubt is i used processing mode test at sender side ,to pick fiel from sorce directory for every 2 min.and i for got to make the file sender adapter inactive and on the other day ai cam and make it inactive.
but after 5 days when every one in my office r trying to send some file from xi xi is not groing to send to othere rfc's.
so i want to clear my doubt whether my fault of using test mode in filesender adapter does the mistake,is it the only reason for xi to down.
waiting for you rresponse.
regards.
seeta ram.

Hey,
Addressing the processing mode query
mode-> Test then Files are not processed.
Only use this mode to test the configurations of the file/FTP adapter or the Integration Engine/PCK. It is not suitable for productive operation.
Rather my suggestion is user Archive or Delete and do Set your adapter -> active state. How can an inactive adapter process the file ?

• Multiple ethernet network adaptors + MySQL/php5: configuration help needed

I would be grateful if someone could give me some advice on how to configure multiple ethernet adapters under OS X 10.5.6
I have set up my system to work nicely with two ethernet network adapters, each with its own fixed IP. This bit works just fine. The machine supports two separate servers - a mail server and the OS X Apache2 server. I have configured the mail server to only listen to one of the IPs, and the Apache2 server to listen to the other (via httpd.conf). The system also has MySQL and php5 installed / enabled, and these services are only used by the Apache2 server.
The problem I have is that when I start the machine, initially the php5 system cannot connect reliably to the MySQL database system. The fix I have found is to temporarily make the ethernet adapter connected to the mail server 'inactive'. While this is so, the php5/MySQL connection to Apache2 works. Curiously, once an initial connection between php5 and MySQL has been made, subsequently I can make the mail server's ethernet adapter active again without further problems.
I initially thought this might be due to 'service order' issues - but changing the service order (e.g. putting the Apache adapter 'above' the mail adapter in the service order does not help. The fix only works by making the mail adapter inactive temporarily.
I suspect that there is some configuration change I can make to clarify the setup I have. The MySQL and Apache installations only need to talk to the Apache server - but I am not sure how to record this configuration in the OS X system.
Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide.

• Dynamic File Adapter status - Active or Inactive

Hi Experts
Is there any way to set the Sender/ Receiver File adapter status dynamically to inactive or active.
Is there any setting exists in the file adapters ? Please provide me possible solutions.
Thanks
Faheem

Hi all,
Many thnz for the response.
There is one more way of doing this as well. Just now i found that.
In the runtime workbench - Communication channel monitoring , Select the automatic control for the comminucation channel to make active or inactive .
there are options for our comm channel to run specfic date and time.

• Change status(Active/Inactive) of file adapter by the external command

Hi, all.
Is it possible to change status(Active/Inactive) of file adapter by the external command?
Let's say, like
"$ switch_file_adapter_status.sh <File Adapter name> <active|inactive>"
or something like that.
Actually, we have the following requirement for the file adapter.
For example, we have many "file adapter to R/3" scenarios and we only want to allow data transfer between 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.(R/3 service time).
In order to achieve this requirement, one option would be to switch file adapter status between active and inactive by external command line.
And this command will be controlled by the job scheduler(like Tivoli).
Does XI(3.0 or above) have this kind of feature?
Best Regards.

Hi,
I don't think that this is possible.
But one Solution for your problem could be a job on xi who execute the Queue.
So that Adapter work the hole time and send the Message to XI Queue which process them not automatically.
And the XI Queue you can trigger with a Job like normal R/3 Jobs.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Robin

• SOAP Sender Adapter remains inactive

I have a Service BS_IMIWH_DEV and an interface DeliveryReceipt_OB, and it is running on our fatfreddy system; the J2EE engine port is 50000.
I have used the Web Service wizard to generate a WSDL file. I used the following target url:
http://fatfreddy:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_IMIWH_DEV:SOAP_Out_IMIWH_DELIVERY_RECEIPT_I98
When I paste this address into the web browser, it asks for user id and password (I use PIAPPLUSER which seems to work), then I get the following message:

Not knowing that much, I assume this is an OK response.
I use Stylus Studio to try to post a web service call using the WSDL I created. When I submit it, and look at the communication channel monitoring for this channel, it sits there with a yellow triangle in the status, and 'Channel started but Inactive' in the short log column. So to me it looks like the SOAP adapter never received the call.
I checked in Stylus Studio to provide the PIAPPLUSER user ID and password to call the web service, but nothing seems to be happening.
Can anybody suggest what to try now?
Kind Regards,
Tony.

I switched from Stylus Studio to XMLSpy and tried to create a Web Service Client call again. This time the channel processed the message but ended up in error:

• The connection of AQ adapter is inactive when restart the server.

I'm facing an issue in our project.
I create an aq adapter to read the aq (the aq is created iin a MIS database server), and deploy it to SOA server(Oracle SOA Suite, 10.1.3.3). I'm finding that a connection to MIS database from AQ Adapter is created and kept to be running periodary.
If, if, the MIS database server is re-start. The issue occurs. The adapter can't read aq any more unless restart the SOA server .
My colleague tells me that he is facing the same issue in creating a dbadapter to polling data from table.
Is there a solution that we needn't to restart the SOA server? Because in production, it will impact many business application to restart the SOA server.
Thanks.
Joseph

It's resolved.
If SOA server is launched when MIS database is down, the adapter connected with MIS database will be marked as inactive. So after MIS database re-start, the adapters doesn't work yet. To enable the adapters, do the following steps:
1. login ESB console
2. select the adapter wich is connected with MIS database
3. Disable it and Enable again.
It's OK now.
