Monitor is enabled - greyed out
Hi Guys, hopefully a simple one.
I'm trying to enable the monitor 'Windows Server 2008 Logical Disk - Logical Disk Free Space'. When I look at the properties of this monitor, the 'Monitor is enabled' tick box is greyed out.
I read online that you need to put in an override to enable it, so i did this, yet it's still in the same state. So my question/s:
1) what do i need to do to enable it?
2) If I have to use an override to enable it, do I have to specify the parameters within the override itself i.e. thresholds etc.?
Here is a picture of the override that I currently have in place.
Thanks, David.Hi,
>do I have to specify the parameters within the override itself i.e. thresholds etc.?
No, you do not have to override all parameters, only those you need to change.
Monitor in Authoring tab will remain 'gray', this panel doesn't show overrides because you can have many overrides for a single monitor (enabled for one server or group of servers, disabled for another).

Tecra A9 - "monitor properties" option is greyed out
Tecra A9 (PTs52A)
In Display settings - advanced - monitor - properties is greyed out.
Think this may have been like it since I added service pack 3 for XP.
Was able to add second monitor and chnage primary & secondary displays before but as properties is greyed out I can't any longer.Hello
As far as I know when you click there on properties you will be linked on the same properties that you can open for monitor in device manager.
Which monitor type is listed there?
As far as I know there is place to define primary or secondary monitor. You can do this in display settings where the display 1 and 2 are graphically shown.
Last two options can be defined with check mark. Of course it can be done if the external display is connected and recognized. -
2012 R2 RemoteFX 3D Video Adapter Greyed Out
I am running a home Server with 2012 R2 with the Hyper-V role installed, with about 5 Windows 8.1 VM's. I'm trying to get RemoteFX working, here's my hardware config:
E5-4610 Processor (Supports Slat)
Nvidia GTX 770 (Driver supports WDDM 1.3 with direct X 11)
Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 (All bios virtual settings enabled)
When I install the Video card driver (tried different versions using windows 8 and windows 8.1 drivers) initially it shows me the checkbox to "Use this GPU with RemoteFX" However after a reboot it says no supported video cards are available.
Before the reboot after installing the driver when it shows the GPU is capable of remote FX, I am not able to add a RemoteFX 3d adapter to a virtual machine because it is greyed out.
After I reboot, if i uninstall and re-install the driver the GTX 770 is available to use again but I still cannot add the RemoteFX adapter to a virtual machine's hardware.
I have done the following:
Verified in DXdiags that the direct X version is 11
Verified in DXdiags that the driver model is WDDM 1.3
Verified the E5-4610 Proc supports Slat or Extended Page Tables
Enabled all the Virtualiztion VT-x settings in the Bios
Verified the video card is supported and certified in 2012 R2
Verified the Remote Desktop Virtualization Host Agent is started in Services.msc
Tried the newest and oldest video drivers for 8.1, and newest for windows 8
I am using Generation 1 vm's as i heard Generation 2 is having problems with RemoteFX
Tried Generatino 2 VM's, there is no option to add RemoteFX hardware
Tried a different GTX 550Ti video card, same issue
Performed all Windows updates for server 2012 R2
Please advise on the next steps to be taken to get RemoteFX working, or if any of the hardware I mentioned above does not support RemoteFX in 2012 R2.
Thanks.Hi buzzmuff,
Please check the following entries :
1.ensure if the VM is Win8.1 enterprise
2.Please use RDP 8.0/8.1 to connect the VM then check device manager again
For details please refer to following link:

All Agents Greyed Out or Not Monitored
Hello,
I am running SCOM 2012 R2. All of my clients were re-imaged (Over 500) during the summer. Each image that was created had the SCOM 2012 R2 Agent installed. The images were installed on all of my clients. Now, most of the clients are
listed as greyed out or not monitored. The server has Event Log entries of the following:
Operations Manager has received a connection from a system running an older version of Operations Manager
None of my clients are running an older version of the agent. What's also new is that I cannot tell if my clients are turned on or not. The clients that are green are always green. Even when they are powered off, they are never grey
in the console. Even after I ping them or refresh. They always stay green. Any help would be appreciated.Hello,
I deleted the Health Service State folder and I modified the DB so they are remotely manageable. Now I am trying a repair. But what I dont understand is why the healthy clients do not show when they are turned off? They normally go from
green to grey. I've tried a ping and a refresh and I cannot get them to go grey. -
Power adapter light goes out & battery kicks in + random shutdowns
Hi,
there's a few weird things going on the last couple of weeks.....i'm wondering if any of them could have to do with the 10.4.9 update that i installed and really screwed up my mac.....it took an hour+ on apple tech support to do the re install because it would not load after i did that update.
so here's the screwy things that have been happening:
sometimes the light on the power adapter just goes off and the battery kicks in - i'm wondering why it does that........and sometimes the power light goes off the computer just shuts down at the same time really fast.......like in less than a second.....i'll wait a little bit and start up again and it'll happen again........but sometimes it'll fine for quite a while and then boom.......it shuts down again.
also, sometimes it's sleeping and when i pop the top the light on the adapter cord goes out.
also, the sleep light is not on when i am using it but goes on when i put it to sleep
i contacted apple (no apple care and past the 90 phone support) and they are sending a new power adapter cord.....the guy at tech didn't know if this was a hard drive issue (which means i could send it back and get it fixed for free cuz of warranty) so we're trying a new cord first and see what happens.
has this happened to anyone? my mac pro is about 5 months old....
thanks,
itsmesunnyHi,
actually the cord came today........and the other part - the square white thing with the cord connection to the mac with the magnet...... is coming separately - i found out after calling them and asking them where the rest of it was (he said maybe it was from a different warehouse was why they weren't together).......is that the "magsafe" that you're referring to?
when that comes i hope that when i hook it up it fixes the problem......i'm using my oldie but goodie ibook now until it's working ok....
the guy did not ask me to reset the smc.........i guess cuz i don't have apple care or tech support now that's all he was willing to do - send me a free power adapter and see if that works first - he said it was $49 to do anything else but if it was determined to be a hard drive issue then it would be free and refunded to me and i could send it back.
you know i think it depends on who you talk to......sometimes they help me even if i don't have the tech support.
so anyway when i get the adapter i'll hook it up and see if it's a go...
thanks,
itsmesunny
PS apple is quick - both times i've sent stuff to them i have gotten it back almost immediately. i talked to the guy yesterday and it was here today....can't beat that! -
Wireless adapter keeps cutting out
Hello all,
I have a Pavillion DV1130us notebook. The wireless adapter kkeeps cutting out on me and I need to constantly reconnect. Anyone else have this problem??? Thank you.Ok got the firmware updated. For the security under wep it says default key and gives me an option of 1-4 to choose. Then wep encryption and gives me two choices 64 bits 10 hex digits and then 128 bits and 26 hex digits. Then the passphrase and gives me a spot to put something in but also has a generate button. Can I put my own in or not? Then it has at the bottom slots for all 4 keys to put something in each of them. What does this mean? Maybe I am totally lost and not as hard as it seems.

IPad adapter was burnt out.
My 10W iPad USB power adapter was burnt out..
It was my first time to connect iPad with the adapter to charge. About after 6 or 7 minutes later, there were some sparks on the adapter itself. I disconnected the cable from the iPad immediately. But the charger doesn't work anymore. The iPad and the cable seems safe.
I bought in Apple store and delivered to here Seoul, South Korea. The power outlet has had no problems. I use it for charging my MBA everyday.
The iPad is not available outside USA. So what should I do?
BTW, why the charger makes sparks to be broken??The power adapter we got will support 100-240 Volts AC at 50/60 Hz.
The part that plug into the wall is removable and will slide in and out.
There is a chance the removable part is where the sparking occurred. The 2 power prongs also flip out and may need to be fully at 90 degs to work.
As there are 2 points of machanical connection on a solid state device- I would check there first.
IF the sparking was just in the removal part then other Apple power cords will slide into the power adapter as well as kits for the type of electrical wall outlets used around the world.
Check the USB socket part of the adapter for any problems also.
you can use a powered USB hub or some computer USB ports to keep your Ipad charged if the problem is INSIDE the power adapter. -
My menu is all greyed out, the only available option is "get more 3d content":
Any suggestions?
I have a HP Pavilon dv7 intel i7 with a HD Grpahic (3000 i think) Family video card.

Do you know if you can switch graphics? Does your monitor lead plug into the mainboard, or a PCIe card? Bottom line is you need 512Kb of video RAM.
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cs6-gpu-faq.html
Regards switchable graphics, if you are using a PCIe card, you might be able to disable the onboard graphics in BIOS, but my gut feeling is that as Preferences is seeing your GPU OK, the problem might be insufficient video RAM. Have a good read through the FAQ linked above. -
Hyper-V platform remains greyed out in control panel
It appears I meet the pre-reqs but when I go to enable Hyper-V via the control panel the Hyper-V platform option is greyed out.
I have Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and run both coreinfo and the AMD tool (amdvhyperv) which suggest I'm set to go.
Not sure what else to check.

Lenovo X1 Carbon Mobile Broadband Greyed out
Hello all,
My Mobile Broadband seems to be Greyed out inside of Access connections. I can not switch off from Wifi to anything else
I have put a fresh windows 7 64 bit image onto the system, installed all drivers, followed by Lenovo System Update and all of those updates. I do not see any missing devices in device manager.
I have 5 devices listed under "Network Adapters" inside of device manager
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advances-N 6205
Lenovo USB2.0 Ethernet adapter
PANGP Virtual Ethernet Adapter
If i "show hidden devices" in device manager, i can see the WAN Miniport (IKEv2, IP, IPv6, L2TP, Network Monitor, PPPOE, PPTP, SSTP)
I have tried downloading the driver for the mobile broadband card directly and installing, which happens, but nothing changes. I have also switched out the AT&T card inside the device, thinking it might have been a bad SIM, but nothing changes. Still unable to switch to Mobile Broadband
Has anyone else experienced such an issue or have any idea on what else to try?
Lenovo X1 Carbon
Model: 3444FEUExcept for the SIM card, everything you are seeing is consistent with there not being a mobile broadband (wireless WAN) card in the system, and the Lenovo support site backs that up - there is no WWAN card in the 3444-FEU .
You can verify that by looking under the keyboard, as described in the hardware maintenance manual:

Some options are greyed out in Captivate 8.0.1 and my bullets do not work?
Hi, I am using Captivate 8.0.1 and am having trouble with 2 things:
1. The bullets and indents that I have formated for my responsive project appear very messed up and not as I have formatted when I view my project in Edge Inspect?
2. Some options in the TOC are greyed out (that I really need for my project). These option are to upload an icon and to align the position of the TOC (It wont let me align to the side of my project as the only option available is for 'overlay'.
Any ideas on how to fix these problems would be much appreciated.
Thanks!Hi there
Captivate 8 introduced the first "Responsive" type of project. And in these types of projects, certain things simply won't work in the output. Henceforth, their options will often be disabled (or "grayed out"). The TOC appears to be one such item. The only option is to use an overlay TOC. I would suspect that this is because of "responsive design". Since the output will be adapting to differing screen sizes, I'm guessing that adding an additional 250 or so pixels for a TOC could prove troublesome and would likely throw off all the other design elements.
Where exactly are you finding you are not capable of uploading an icon? I see that I'm able to upload icons that represent the collapse and expand gizmos, but you may be in a different spot.
Cheers... Rick -
Monitor does not come out of sleep Mac-Mini Mini-DVI to Dual DVI-D cable
I have an August 2009 Mac-Mini that I'm using with an Apple supplied Mini-DVI to DVI adapter along with a DVI-D Dual Link Cable connect to a Sceptre X7XV-Naga+ LCD monitor.
The monitor is going into sleep mode on its own with no way to disable this feature on the monitor itself. I've disabled sleep mode on the Mac-Mini in the power setting in System Preferences.
When in sleep mode and I move the mouse or press a key, the monitor will not come out of sleep mode. From other posts, I read that the issue might be that I wasn't using a Dual-Link DVI-D cable, so I bought one and installed such a cable. That has not resolved the problem. The monitor will not come out of sleep mode. When I have the monitor connected with a mini-display port to VGA adapter instead of a DVI-D cable, it will come out of sleep mode every time.
Message was edited by: Annorax64I know it's a year later, but I'm not finding much through search.
I have the same exact problem. Difference being I'm using an iMac with 10.7.5.
Same video board and monitor - ATI Radeon HD 6750M video card connected via DisplayPort to Samsing S24A850DW.
I've tried two different mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables and no change.
I think I read that 10.8.3 might fix the issue. Anyone that can confirm that, or has another solution? -
I have installed 10.7 and the secondary monitor flashes and blacks out. I downgraded back to 10.6 and the problem went away. I reinstalled 10.7 and the same problem happened again. The monitor blacks in and out especially when the pointer is placed in the dock area, but it still happens all the time. My secondary monitor is a ViewSonic 22 inch that is connected to a DVI to display adapter. Any solutions??
ThanksTalked to AppleCare and it's most likely the fact that my MacBook has 3.0 USB ports and my non official charging cable can't support that. So yeah, I'll try a new cable, hopefully that's the fix.

Why is 3D menu greyed out? Not ram or drivers..
When looking at other people who have a greyed out 3D menu, most all suggestions are either video ram or drivers.. but I have the latest driver and 2 GPUs with 1GB each of ram so I don't think it's any of that. Here are my stats
