Adapter or converter in Japan?

I am going to be studying abroad in Japan for 11 months. I would like to know if I need to buy an adapter or converter for my Macbook Pro.

You do not need a voltage converter. But you will need a plug adapter.

Will a travel adapter, not converter, be ok to charge my mba in a 220v country?
I noted in the manual it said under 'Magsafe power spec's: Line Voltage 100 to 240 V.
Thx!!

Yes. Mac just needs an adapter, not a converter.
Best.

Hello, I am having problems with my power connector not staying in it's socket allready!!The laptop is on a small table and the laptop is only used a few times a week!Is there a Right Angle 90-degree Power Adapter Connector Converter for TOSHIBA Qosmio X875-Q7290?I think this would help solve the problem. Thank You

Get an aftermarket universal charger, perhaps?    Their connectors are mostly  right-angle.    I have some iGo Green model that looks like this but is an older model.    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834993922

All you need is an adaptor for the plug. The charger itself is a world charger & works everywhere.

• Were can i buy an adapter to convert from the new iphone conector to the old iphone 4 conector

• I just moved to Germany, I want to know if an adapter and converter is needed to charge my iPod, iPhone and MacBook Air is needed or can I simply use an adapter? Will the voltage automatically change?

I am having a really hard time with keeping my charger on the adapter/converter that I bought for my trip but I also bought an adapter and with that my charger doen't fall and my apple products would be able to charge withought me having to hold the charger in place. I want to know if the converter is needed or if I only need the adapter. I do not want to blowout my iPhone, iPod or my MacBook Air.

All that is requried is an inexpensive plug adapter. Apple's power adapters themselves will work with any utility power on Earth. Non-Apple power adapters may not.
I don't understand what you mean by having to hold the charger in place though.

• Flexijack to Analog Adapter or Converter

I'll try my best to explain all the details of my problem.
I own an JVC DVD Home Theater System 5. Surround THX Dolby Digital. Model is TH-C5. Specifications are HERE. This sound system has only 2 inputs for audio: Analog Input (red & white) and Digital Input (Optical). This system is centered under my Sharp 080p Aquos LCD. My Computer tower is situated about 5-20 feet away, under an open desk. In my computer I own an a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music. Specifications HERE. This sound card has 4 3.5mm jacks, 3 of which are colored black, and green. There is a [color="#3366ff">blue colored jack which indicates it is for a microphone.
My problem is this: I want to buy a blu-ray combo dri've such as THIS, so I can have burning and reading capability, instead of just getting a BD Player for my TV, which seems a waste of $. I want to be able to play a BD movie in this combo dri've and have the image display on my Sharp Aquos, and the sound play through my JVC system. The video problem is something I'll deal with later. I have several options, including upgrading my video card to support HDMI or buying a DVI to VGA adapter cable (the easiest). The sound dilemma is more difficult. [size="2" face="impact,chicago">How do I convert the sound from the Soundblaster's 3 "flexijack" ports of different colors to either of my JVC system's inputs? (remember: Optical input and red/white Analog). Essentially I'm asking any of you if there exists a type of cable that could adapt these two types of analog inputs. Any help or information you guys could spare would help greatly. Do any of you know of any good "audio" forums I could post this to as well?Message Edited by FlashFire on 08-0-2009 0:20 [email protected]

,Re: Flexijack to Analog Adapter or Converterm So it is not possible to connect my X-Fi Xtreme Music (Green, Yellow, Black ports) to my JVC Recei'ver (Red, White ports)? That essentially, in it's MOST basic form, is my question... I appreciate your suggestions, but that converter is too expensi've and considering the distance between my receiver and sound card it would not be appropriate. I wanted to avoid optical because of the distance. A 20 ft optical cable (if even exists) would be very expensi've I assume...

• Ac adapter or converter for EU Mac Mini in the US?

Hey everyone
I live in Europe and plan to move to the US soon
I have a Mac Mini which I plan to bring with me
Do I need a step down converter or will a simple adapter like that (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC556LL/B/apple-85w-magsafe-power-adapter-for- 15-and-17-inch-macbook-pro?fnode=5a) will do, as from what I've read, the Mac Mini used 85W as well
Appericate your opinions, thanks

Yes, but I would get a power cords instead of an adapter.

• Calling RFC Adapter fails - convert error

Hi,
I have a problem with calling RFC Adapter. I'm using JDBC->XI->RFC scenario. JDBC does just "select 'W' from dual". In the destination SAP system RFC function is created for test purposes. This function has one parameter - string type. After calling it, it should write a sysdate into the SAP Z_ table. The XI should call the function with the 'W' parameter. But this fails. Everything is ok, but calling the RFC returns following error (copied from the Runtime Workbench -> Message Monitoring :
Exception caught by adapter framework: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not convert request from XML to RFC:com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (130) JCO_ERROR_XML_PARSER: Expecting a tag to begin with '<' instead of 'W', in "u
(Yes, this is thw whole error message. I don't know what u should be...)
Did someone get this error?
Thanx 4 answers, Peter

Hello all,
Let me reopen the topic of my colleague. I'm facing the same error though with bit different symptoms. Here it is.
ERROR msg:
         Exception caught by adapter framework: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not convert request from XML to RFC:com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (130) JCO_ERROR_XML_PARSER: Expecting a tag to begin with '<' instead of 'Z', in "T
The XML message (MainDocument):
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:Z_BAPI_ACCESSIBILITY_TEST_XI xmlns:ns0="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
      <BAPI1008 />
      <PARAM>Z_XID_500_ACC</PARAM>
      <ZTTOTH_BAPI1008 />
- <b><ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      <PARAM1></b>Z_XID_500_ACC</PARAM1>
      </ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      </ns0:Z_BAPI_ACCESSIBILITY_TEST_XI>
According to the error message the parser expects behind string ...<ZTTOTH_STRUCT><PARAM1> another tag, but the question is why.
To make all this more funny here I paste another XML message of BAPI calling which works fine (without the error described above):
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:Z_BAPI_PARAMETERS_TEST_XI xmlns:ns0="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
      <PARAM>Z_XID_500</PARAM>
- <ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      <PARAM1>Z_XID_500</PARAM1>
      </ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      </ns0:Z_BAPI_PARAMETERS_TEST_XI>
The BAPI functions are absolutely the same except those other two import-pramater structures (BAPI1008 and ZTTOTH_BAPI1008). I'm gonna to try to add those import-parameter structures into Z_BAPI_PARAMETERS_TEST_XI, but anyway - this is weird.
Does anybody have an idea, what should be wrong ?
Thx. Tom

• Adapter to convert from US to European outlet

Does anyone know if this is legitimate? :http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Power-adapter-plug-Euro/dp/B002N667OM/ref=sr_1_15?ie =UTF8
I'm traveling to France for my studies. I love the simplicity of this converter but doubt that Apple really endorses it- I don't think it's available from the Apple Store directly
Merci Beaucoup! Bonne jounrée!

Bonjour;
Comment allez-vous?
It doesn't have to be endorse by apple for the adapter to work.  if that's the adapter you need to use while you're in France, then go ahead and use it....
Not every accessories you purchase for your macbook will be apple approved.
Good luck and enjoy your stay in France.

• JMS sender adapter not converting data to XML properly.

Hi,
I am using JMS adapter to read data from MQ. The length of each segment is fixed.
The problem is there is no new line character at the end of each segment .So JMS adapter is just reading the first line and not reading the rest.
What I found out that if I place a new line character at the end of each segment it works fine. But for me I have constraint that in MQ the source system cannot send a new line character at the end of each segment. So can any one tell me how can I solve this issue?
The sample data that I am getting from MQ is:
AA12345
BBXYZXY                                                  CC12300
CC456AS
We are using SP13.
The length of each segment is fixed.
Any help is appreciated

Hi Sameer,
fieldFixedLengths is used to divide the data among the elements of a segment.
For example if I have the segment structure like
AA1234567
BB12345
BBXYZ12
Then in the module processor we define
xml.recordsetStructure NameA,1,NameB,*
xml.NameA.fieldNames MyKey,field-nameA
xml.NameA.fieldFixedLengths 2,7
xml.NameA.fieldNames MyKey,field-nameB
xml.NameB.fieldFixedLengths 2,5
As per my understanding goes First it reads the first line till it finds a new line char and then it uses fieldFixedLength to assign data to the fields inside the segments. Here in the above example A1=AA and A2=1234567
But I am not aware if we can use fieldFixedLength to identify the segment it self. If so then how can I use it can u let me know?
Thanks

• I am planning a trip to Ireland soon and need to know what adapter or converter I will need to buy to use my ziPad over there.

I am going to Ireland soon and need to know what adapters or converters I need to buy to use my IPad 2 over there .

You can usually find an adapter at Radio Shack or a luggage store like Mori's.  Airport shops also sometimes carry them.  Another way is to buy  Apple World Travel Adapter Kit.  In my opinion this is a little expensive unless you travel to different countries and need the assortment.
