Adapter_plain service settings

Hi,
We have a user logged on to XI client 100 and he is trying to test the "adapter_plain" service. He tries tcode: sicf>default_host>SAP>xi>adapter_plain--> right click test service --> and he gets logon screen trying to connect to cleint 000 instead of 100. The logon prompt him "A username and password are being requested by http://misap-pid01.usasap.ngkusa.com:50000. The site says: "SAP NetWeaver Application Server [PID/000]".
However, the url page shows as client 100 --> http://misap-pid01.usasap.ngkusa.com:50000/sap/xi/adapter_plain?sap-client=100
The question is, where can I maintain the settings of adapter_plain for the correct client logon?
Why is the log on trying to connect to 000 and the url page shows 100?  How can I fix this issue?

Also, In addition to the previous problem, when I do the test for adapter_plain service in TCODE: SICF by right clicking it and select test service and then I  enter user: j2ee_admin and pw, i access the page but at the bottom of the page it says "stopped".  What could this status "stopped" mean?

  • HT5139 Is this really the only way to back up service settings?

Am I completely missing something here, or is Time Machine supposed to be the only easy way to back up service settings in Mountain Lion with Server.app? Is there really no way to export/import service settings anymore? It sounds to me from what I've read and seen of Server.app that if, for example, my DHCP settings get mucked up, I have to take the entire server offline, boot to the recovery partition, and restore from Time Machine? I can't just stop that ONE service and re-import the settings while leaving everything else up and running for 100+ users? Someone please tell me I'm missing something obvious.

    Which service?
The "serveradmin" command line controls are always available. They can do much more than the GUI can.

  • New iMovie app for iPhone 4 not showing up in Location Services (Settings)

iMovie app for iPhone 4 not showing up in Location Services (Settings). It apprently needs to be both viaible and turned on in Settings/General/Location Services in order for the app to discover previously taken video (Location Services correctly recognizes other apps of mine that utilize location-aware services).
I think the following is related to and caused by this problem above: iMovie App for iPhone 4 is not recognizing video clips I have made, whether they're in Photo Album, or iPhone 4 native movies that have been throughout this process: [sync with iPhoto on Mac > save to to iPhoto album > sync album to iPhone 4].

Just had this same problem. The solution is to turn Location Services on before launching iPhone iMovie.
Yes, iMovie needing GPS coordinates is crazy, as is the error message that doesn't correctly explain the problem. Looks like a bit of a rush job.

  • "no acess to service settings after delete of speed up program"

on my older laptop I by error downloaded a speed up program that was not what it seemed so I deleted this, but it has changed my settings on all of main service settings to disabled and there is no way to start fixing as there is no way to get onto Mozilla help, also tried to start at restore point but to no avail.

Hi again edmeister, after pondering onthe proble whilst doing some wood cutting I decided to try and force the start programs into enabled setting , I was supprised to find that after the break my mind seems to work better than plowing on into the early hours in a futile search for solution. When the system settings were changed the start up in safe mode was the way into the reset of all program and other add-on's etc. Touching a huge piece of wood all seems to be well, thanks again for your help and keep up the good work, cheers Verderer 8-)

  • Sql 2012 integration services settings grayed out

Our DBAs are trying to change some settings for integration services by following this article:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337083.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
however everything on the properties window is grayed out. I have the same issue despite being a local admin on this server.
Are there any other settings I need to change to gain access to this? I can change all other settings under dcom config

    Hi vanquish12,
Please make sure that you right click on “Component Services” and select "Run as Administrator" to start up “Component Services”.
However, if the integration services settings are still grayed out, the issue could be due to permission restrictions on your system. Please perform the following steps to solve this issue.
    1. Right-click on SQL Server Integration Services 11.0 and select Properties in Component Services/Computers/My computer/DCOM Config. In the General tab, record the Application ID of SQL Server Integration Services 11.0.
    2. Start the registry editor (regedit), find the following key, then right click it and select Permissions, add your account in the Permissions dialog and grant full control rights to your account.
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{ Application ID of step 1}
    3. Check that if integration services settings are enabled in Component Services.

  • Current best practice for Time service settings for Hyper-V 2012 R2 Host and guest OS's

I am trying to find out what the current best practice is for Time service settings in a Hyper-V 2012 environment. I find conflicting information. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have found some different sources (links below) but again the
    are not consistent. Thanks
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2010/11/19/time-synchronization-in-hyper-v.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/virtual_active_directory_domain_controller_virtualization_hyperv(v=ws.10).aspx
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/12709.time-services-for-a-domain-controller-on-hyper-v.aspx

From the first link provided by Brian, it does state that the time service should be off, but then the update changes that statement.  Still best to rely on the first link in the OP - it was written by the guy that has been responsible for much of what
gets coded into Hyper-V, starting from before there ever was a Hyper-V.  I'd say that's a pretty reliable source.
    Time service
For virtual machines that are configured as domain controllers, it is recommended that you disable time synchronization between the host system and guest operating system acting as a domain controller. This enables your guest domain controller to synchronize
    time from the domain hierarchy.
To disable the Hyper-V time synchronization provider, shut down the VM and clear the Time synchronization check box under Integration Services.
    Note
This guidance has been recently updated to reflect the current recommendation to synchronize time for the guest domain controller from only the domain hierarchy, rather than the previous recommendation to partially disable time synchronization between the
host system and guest domain controller.

  • Active Data Service settings per component "instance"?

Is there any way to configure active data service settings on a per component "instance" basis? I think it would be very useful to be able to have different polling intervals for different components for example. Especially due to the obvious performance concerns around this type of functionality.

Also regarding Active Services, I see the blurb in the pdf's Section 40 "Using the Active Data Service":
    [[Insert xref
to OTN for info on creating data controls and any info about making BC components
work with active data, also xref to JEE book]].
Is there any documentation, info, or examples of using a BC view in conjunction with Active Data Service? In other examples I usually see something triggering the "event", but with a BC is there a mechanism where a data update creates an event (via something built-in - nothing programmatic). I could do some type of listener that checks for data updates and then creates the event, but I'd like to think I can get that for "free" with the framework.

  • Backup/Restore services settings with serveradmin

    Hi,
I try to make a script to backup my services settings.
No problem for backup this informations, but the problem is for restoration. It appears that nothing works ...
For exemple, if I backup dns config like this : +serveradmin -x settings dns > config_DNS.bk+, then I delete a primary zone and try to restore config : +serveradmin settings < config_DNS.bk+, the primary zone isn't recreate.
The only workaround I have found, it's to replace (via sed) in the backup file <key>configuration</key> by +<key>DNS Config</key>+ and restore it via the Server Admin GUI.
Somebody confronted with similar problem ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Stéphane

Have you tried just using the Export (& Import) features that are built into Server Admin (In the Server menu)?

Here's where I made my mistake:  I went into IIS and changed the bindings for the Default Website to another port than 443, but then changed it back again.
Is this a cerificate Issue? Or any other cause? Could anyone help me to solve this problem?

    Hi ErikLely,
Before going further, would you please let me know if the error message you described was complete? If not, please post the complete error message or provide a screenshot.
It will help us to narrow down this issue. Besides, can you remember which operation you do before this issue occurred or just sudden?
In addition, please check the Event Viewer. In Event Viewer, please follow the path:

  • I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing issues related to location services settings. Ie; they are on but maps cannot determine location etc.

I recently experienced an issue on my ipad2 related to location services. While connected to a wifi network, I found that apps requiring location services would not work properly and I would receive a pop up notice asking me to turn on location services.  For example, the maps app would display a pop up stating "cannot determine location". My NHL gamecenter app would not allow me to watch live feeds; a pop up advised me to turn on location services. In each case, location services was in fact on.
I checked my settings, shut down the apps, restarted them, shut down the iPad and rebooted it to no avail. The internet connection was working fine as best as I could determine. The wifi network was at a guest home and the router was recently replaced. I returned to my home wifi and everything worked fine. The next day, I returned to the guest Internet connection and everything seemed to work once again. However, while watching a NHL game, during the last seconds of an overtime shoot out, I lost video and it was attributed once again to location services being disabled. Of course I checked and nothing in my settings had been altered. I went to my iPhone (3GS) and pulled up the gamecenter app and was able to watch the end of the game( via wifi connection...same network).
So, I am puzzled as to what could be causing this problem. If anyone else is having similar issues, I would like to know as well as if there are any solutions or feedback from Apple regarding this type of problem.....Dave.

As the King says, if your friends wifi router was relatively new, it likely has not been picked up by Apple's location based information database system and thus there is no location information associated with it.  So your iPad had no way of getting its location.
The wifi location databases are traditionally updated by wardriving - literally companies employ people to drive around sniffing out active wifi signals and associating an approximate location to it.  Some companies also have web sites to submit that information if owners wish to (Apple does not seem to have one though), and the various companies with wifi location databases buy and sell their information.  Bottom line is though, it can take weeks, months or sometimes even longer for a residential router to get picked up - depends on where you live (more rural, likely the longer time it takes).
When I moved from VA to NC it took up to 6 months for mine to reflect my new location (I checked it once the week I moved in, and then periodically thereafter, and it finally was getting it right after about 6 months) and I live in a pretty densley populated area (triangle NC).

  • Service settings keep changing?????

I have digital voice and someone keeps changing my settings on the services I have. Is this your programmers or someone who is making changes?
Example: I have simultaneous ring turned on for my home office line and somehow it keeps getting turned off without me logging in.
Please fix this or I will have to seek better service.

If you have invested a lot of money into your computer system etc, I suggest that you take it to a dealer like Comp USA, Best Buy, C.City etc. It’s possible that you have many issues affecting your computer operation.
To my knowledge there are no known issues with Itunes that causes the problem's you mention!
I don’t think this is the best forum or Itunes catagory to resolve what could be complex computer problems.
That’s why when you purchase the computer you should have a warranty and or Technical Support included for issues you may have.
The reason I mention Virus is because you have to start somewhere, and with the little info you gave out, that’s where I thought you should start.

  • RFC Destination does not work for /sap/xi/adapter_plain service

    Hi
We are facing a strange issue. Our business partner is trying to connect to our XI box, RFC Detination type 3 through a reverse proxy at our end. If he used /sap/xi/engine service, he gets a 500 response " empty request received". Howerevr if he connects using /sap/xi/adapter_plain, he is not getting any response, just a green tick at the bottom with no message. SMICM shows " wrong content in header response"
    Regards
    Monika

    Hi
We are able to send data to our business partner. When he is trying to send data to us, he is not able to do so.
He needs to do so via a reverse proxy. We have replicated the scenario on our side to cross check.
We are able to connect to our XI with http/https without reverse proxy. However with reverse proxy we are not able to do so.
Also in case of http without reverse proxy, the message processing does not happen even thought RFC Connection test is successful/

  • Where is the documentation of the options on the 'System Services' settings screen?

The settings screen Settings ▸ Location Services ▸ System Services in iOS 5.0 contains the following boolean options:
    Cell Network Search
    Compass Calibration
    Diagnostics & Usage
    Location-Based iAds
    Setting Time Zone
    Traffic
I have never used an iPhone before and do not understand what each of these services do. Where can I find Apple's documentation of these options?

As I say, I've disabled all of them and see no need for any of them.
As far as I have been able to determine these are being used to build up location based databases for use in advertising, marketing and other commercial uses:
Cell Network Search - tracks the cell towers you are connected to and your location to aid in building up a database of cell phone tower locations and useage
Compass Calibration - this one I have no idea about.  It is absolutely not necessary for the actual act of calibrating your compassapp, and your compass app works fine with it disabled.  Why anyone would find it useful to know where I was when I had to calibrate my compass, I have no idea.
Diagnostics & Usage - this one is obvious, and is used to tag your location if you have chosen to send diagnostic and usage information to Apple.  I can see where it might help them to know where you were when you had some issue (ie. so they could see if the area correlates with frequent network errors or such)
Location-Based iAds - also obvious, but I don't want marketers targeting me with ads based on where I am,  I find internet advertising far too intrusive as it is, I have no desire to aid them in pestering me even more.
Setting Time Zone - this one I don't get.  If you have data & time set to "automatic" this is pointless, as they date and time (and hence time zone) will be set by your devices connection to the cell tower(s).  I have no rational thoughts as to what this being used for, or what good it may do.
Traffic - this is apparently somehow used to update a database of traffic patterns.  How it knows what the traffic around me is, I do not know - ie. what triggers it, I have no idea.
Anyway, I have them all disabled, as I can see no rational reason to have any of them on.  They just needlessly use up my battery, and are sending data to places that I have no idea of or about, for purposes I have no clue about, all of which, going by the complete lack of information about them, is by design (which just irritates me - at least explain the dang things or don't bother even including them).
