Adapter Pop-Port Phone Jack
Hi there,
rather unusual but: I'm looking for an adapter which connects my Nokia headset to the laptop (Pop-Port to phone and mic jack). Nokia doesnt offer them, are there any vendors?
indeed... an oversite by karim there
i found this page: http://www.engadget.com/2005/08/16/how-to-make-a-nokia-pop-port-to-female-mini-jack/
it explains how to make a female jack for use with nokia phones. now, it should be possible to do it the other way, keep the HDS-3 earphones, but connect that to a male 3.5mm jack plug...

The MacBook has no fax-modem. You will need an external (USB) modem.

Connecting PSTN line to SPA112 2-Port Phone Adapter
Hi,
Not sure if this question is right but can I use the SPA112 2-Port Phone Adapter to connect a PSTN line? What I want is, I should be able to choose a line and while making calls. Use PSTN or VOIP.
Please let me know if I am using a wrong device for my purpose.
Regards,
NaiduNo, it cannot, that device has FXS ports, no FXO ports
Includes two standard telephone ports, each with an independent phone number, for use with fax machines or analog phone devices

CA-55 Pop-Port = any phone?
Hi
I know that there is a limited number of holders for Nokia phones that are compatible with the CA-55 converter cable. But is it possible to plug the CA-55 directly into any Pop-Port on any phone and get hand-free and charging functions (with the latest CARK-91 control boxes)? No cradle, just a Universal cradle. The information I have read is not clear on this.
I guess the phone needs a Hands-free mode?
The phone I am hoping to connect is the 7370 or 7373 which have Pop-Port.
regards
TTthe chances of these phones working with a car-k91 + ca-55 are very slim, it normally dose not support smartphones but there is such a grey area that its a gamble. I would buy a ck-7w and use as bluetooth connection only, thats the way the phone is designed to be used due to no specific cradle being available.

Have you checked System Preferences > Sound > Output?
Or are you interested in a phone modem adapter?

It's a Ethernet port, not a phone jack.
Two good points, in which case I believe the ethernet port can be disabled, (it can on my Pro);
System Preferences> Network> Ethernet>.........
Highlight the Ethernet option and click the gear icon at the bottom of the panel. There should be an option to, Make service inactive..... -
Xperia Z3v Head Phone Jack Cover
Just curious if any one of you had dipped your Xperia Z3v in water....On sonymobile.com it says that make sure all the ports are closed, but the phone did not come with a head phone jack cover. Does that mean it is already waterproof? I examined all the photos avaiable on sonymobile.com and none of the pictures showing the phone under water had the head phone jack covered. Any feed back (from Sony) would be appreciated! Thanks for reading
the 3.5mm jack its waterproof, it doesn't need a cover/flap

Cleaning Lint/Dust/Dirt From the Docking Port, Headphone Jack, Mic & Spkr
Does anyone know if you spray canned air (Dust Off) into the docking port, headphone jack, mic & speaker ports, if the air will blow the lint/dust/dirt deep into the phone or possibly under the screen where you can't get it back out?
i just use a toothpick and dig it out. the dock port and headphone jack are fairly closed off so the chance of pushing the lint / gunk in deeper is pretty low. so far no issues

I seem to have a dodgie pop-port on my phone or dodgie cables?
I wiggle the pc cable and that causes it to disconnect from the pc and phone yet its still in the socket and the headset sometimes if i wiggle it, the sound cuts out..
Can I take this to a Nokia shop to get it fixed under warranty or do I have to RMA it back to Expansys?

Andy

Yes, Nokia's pop-port wasn't their best invention. I had similar problems with my 6280 and I've heard countless other people with similar issues.
What I used to do always was to blow on the handset's connector in order to dislodge any dust particles, and then wipe the contacts on the headphone or USB cable with a soft cloth in order to get rid of dust/grease/etc. Then annd only then did I get a relatively stable connection.

Hello, Looked back about 9 pages for something similar, so I didn't waste anyone's time, but couldn't find anything.
Here's my dilemma: My headphone jack won't play Pandora. Seems to work fine (phone jack) for everything else, phone conversations, downloaded mp3s, etc., but for some reason, Pandora won't come through. It did work at one time, and I don't believe I changed anything.
It's like I can move the jack out and carefully back in, it'll hit a spot and play, then stop. Don't get this with anything else (as mentioned above).
Thanks in advance for any potential solutions.
John
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Since it used to work at one time, try this...
Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Best!

Phone jack nowhere near where I want to place the gateway
I recently received a wireless gateway to replace my modem and router. I have the triple play. I do not have a phone jack anywhere near where I want to place the wireless gateway for Internet access. I currently have the modem for the phone in the garage and my Internet modem/router in the living room. I do not have a phone jack near it. I am under the impression that if I activate the wireless gateway without using the phone port, it will inactivate my current phone modem and I will lose my phone service. HELP
They should be able to keep the one in the garage for the phone active, and use the new gateway for just internet.
I have several customers with one device for the phone and one more for internet only.
Keep track of the serial numbers of both devices to make sure the right ones are provisioned for the right services. -
CK-7W Bluetooth with Pop Port being used
I have the CK-7W (without the cradle) and an N93.
Everything works great with it except when I have a FM Transmitter connected to the Pop Port so I can play MP3's from the N93.
My problem in this scenario is as follows - A call comes in and the sound is routed to the radio via the transmitter. I have to disconnect the transmitter from the Pop Port. The phone then returns to the General Profile, not the Car Kit profile. So, I then have to try to activate the Car Kit Profile (either from the phone itself or by a single push of the 7W button). Then I have to press the button again to answer the call.
By the time I have done all this the call is usually long gone.
Anyone else have this problem? Any way to set it up so that it reverts to the Car Kit profile automatically when a call comes in (ideally!!) or at least when you disconnect the transmitter?
Any help would be much appreciated. Is that the old holder from an old carkit? I've always thought that the CK-7W was built to be wireless and that the phone doesn't have to be physically connected.

I recieved my Airport Extreme about a week ago and still haven't been able to get it to work! This isn't the Apple I came to know and love!
The first thing I did was disconnect my old 2WIRE 2700HG-B router and swap the telephone cord from its WAN port into the WAN port of my Airport Extreme. After I installed the CD and opened the Airport Utility, it said nothing was connected to the WAN port of my Airport Extreme! WHAT?!
Soon after I realized the WAN port in my old 2WIRE router had 4 pin conncectors (I'm not sure of the technical name for them), my phone jack also had 4, but ALL of the ports on the new Airport Extreme had 8 so my 4-pin phone line cabe wasn't compatible. So I found a cable with 8 pins and that fit in the WAN port fine, but NOT my phone jack! Do I have the wrong kind of phone jack then? How do I fix this problem? THANK YOU.
? ? ? ? ? Mac OS X (10.4.8) Yes, I read the instructions and did EVERYTHING rightCould I just use my old 2WIRE router/modem as a modem for my new AEBS since it has a modem built in?
Yes. Just by connecting the output of the 2WIRE to the WAN port on the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) should work. The AEBS by default should be set to use Ethernet and DHCP to get an IP address. You could put the AEBS in bridge mode but it isn't necessary. -
N70, CR-27 & CK-7W via Pop port. Lights on?
Hi folks I use the N70 in a CR-27 cradle connected to the CK-7W by pop port. Unlike my previous Nokia phones this N70 does not offer a 'handsfree' option on the enhancements menu when placed either in the CR-27 cradle or directly onto the pop port. This means the 'lights on' option is not selectable for my cradled N70 as the menu is not available. The phone charges in the cradle & the N70 is succesfully used via the car speakers/mic.The firmware version was updated to the most recent available by a Nokia service centre last week. Can anyone assist me with how to achieve 'lights on' when the N70 is cradled. Any suggestions?
I also have got an N70 working in a car kit - with antenna connection using the CK7W and CA27 cable into pop-port style cradle with antenna coupler. I can't get the lights to stay on - even with a new profile. I have asked the Nokia support people and they say it isn't possible.
