Adapter Type Missing
Hi All,
Can anyone say me why I can't select adapter type in a communication channel???
Thanks a lot
Hi Albert.
Trye reimporting your SWCV SAP BASIS 6.40 if netweaver 2004 or SAP BASIS 7.00 if netweaver 2004s.
If doing this, you don't have the adapters, is because *.tpz files that contain definitions and SAP demos is not availbale. Ask your BASIS team to put the necessary files into correct folders so you can import them and have adapters.
Regards,
Inigo.
Hola Albert.

Why SOAP Adapter Type is missing ?
Hi all, I'm following the WebLog Invoke Webservices using SAPXI (/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/09/03/invoke-webservices-using-sapxi) and I'm not able to use a SOAP Adapter.
In particular, when I try to select the Adapter Type I obtain the following list:
File
HTTP
IDoc
JDBC
JMS
Marketplace
RFC
RNIF
XI
Why SOAP Adapter Metadata is missing ?
Thanks in advance for your collaboration

Adapter types & comm. channels missing in comm channel monitoring
Hello All,
We recently created a new sandbox XI system from a copy of our XI Test system
system. We used the SAPinst system copy process for ABAP+JAVA to create
this new XI sandbox system. We have followed all of the XI/PI post copy procedures listed in the system copy documentation and almost everything is working except when we going into the runtime workbench for XTX and go into communication channel monitoring for the adapter engine. When we get
here we do not see any adapter types where we should be seeing types such
as JDBC, BD, CIDX, FILE, JMS, etc We also do not see any communication channels in the communication channel monitoring if we select use filter to display all.
Any ideas?
Any help on this would be much appreciated
With regards
StevenHi,
First check in Integration Directory. Just create any dummy Communication Channel, if you are able to select your adapter for your communicatio channel then this is a cache issue. Just refresh the CPACache by this url.
http://<server name>:<HTTP Port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
Else you are not able to select any adapter for your communication channel then you have forgot to import the SAP BASIS Software Component Version into Integration Repository.
You can find it from your installation DVD's, and if you are not able to find then you can download it from service market place as given below..
[Click on this URL|https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=SEARCH&HIDE=&SEARCH_SPAT=X&SEARCH_BPAT=X&SEARCH_CD=X&SEARCH_P=X&SEARCH_PV=X&SEARCH_C=X&SEARCH_CV=X&SEARCH_TA=&SEARCH_V=&HIDE_EXPERT_SEARCH=X&SEARCH_MAX_RESULT=20]
In Search Term Enter SAP BASIS 7 or 3.
Now click on XI CONTENT SAP_BASIS 7.00 (if u r using PI else select SAP_BASIS 3.0) -
>
Database independent -
> SAPBASISxxxxx-0888.ZIP (this file should be based on your SP level)
Just save this file on your machine and unzip it.
Now put this in the import directory: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\
Now login to Integration Repository and from menu TOOLS ---> Import design objects and import it.

Adapter engine missing in the comm channal configuration
Hi Experts,
I am creating a File-IDOC scenario. While doing the configuration for the sender communication channel for file adpter the integration server is missing in the adapter engine drop down.
But when i checked for other adapter type like Idoc and Http adapter, the Integration channel is available in the adapter engine drop down(only for these two apater type only, for other adapters also i am not getting the integration server).
Can anyone help me regarding this, how to resolve this problem.
Any SAPnotes or blogs for that.
Help will be apprediated and rewarded as well.
Thanks
Manishahi manisha,
check the previous reply....the blog is nice
and also check the note 764176
check below
1. Open the "Content Maintenance" view under "Administration" in the SLD editing interface. (in 7.10: the view "CIM Instances".) Select "XI Integration Server" from the drop-down menu and navigate to the associations of the integration server. Select the "XI Integration Server Logical Identity" association and delete the association by pressing the 'Remove' button.
2. Switch to "Home" in the "Technical Landscape" view, and select the "Exchange Infrastructure" technical system type there. (as of 7.10: "Process Integration".) Select all domains and XI components for the host and delete these by selecting them and pressing 'Remove'.
3. Start the J2EE server. After you restart the server, the XI components log on to the SLD again and create a new entity of the "XI Integration Server" class.
4. To register the directory and repository again, you must also log on to the two tools.
5. Under 'Technical Landscape' in the SLD, select the "Exchange Infrastructure" technical system type. (as of 7.10: "Process Integration") and check whether all XI components (Adapter Engine, Integration Directory, Integration Repository, Integration Server and Runtime Workbench/RWB) are logged on correctly. The Adapter Engine component may be missing. In this case, start the registration of the Adapter Engine as described in Note 1031321, step 2.
6. Change again to the administration interface --> Content Maintenance (7.10: "CIM Instances") to the associations of the XI integration server.
Create a new association by pressing the 'New Association' button, select the "XI Sub-System viewed Application System" associations type here, and, in the next step, choose the BC system for the Integration Server. Save the association by selecting 'Associate'.
Create a new association by pressing the 'New Association' button, select the "XI Integration Server Logical Identity" association type here, and, in the next step, choose the business system for the Integration Server. Save the association by selecting 'Associate'.
7. Under 'Technical Landscape' in the SLD, select the "Exchange Infrastructure" technical system type. (7.10: "Process Integration") and check whether the association to the application system is displayed there (in column "Application System", the business system on which the integration server runs should be displayed).
8. To make the changed associations known in the directory, the SLD temporary storage must be deleted in the directory. To do this, log on to the Integration Directory and select the 'Environment --> Delete temporary storage areas for SLD data' menu option.
reward points if helpfull

Not able to see the adapter types in ID
Hi Friends-
I recently installed PI 7.0 .
When i try to select the adapter type in ID it says that object not found.
I am not able see any adapter list. Can you figure out this problem.
Your help in this is highly appreciated.Hi.
You haven't the adapter types because you haven't import the SWCV SAP BASIS 7.0
Try to import it from integration repository. If you still havn't the adapter types, talk with basis people and tell them that they have to apply oss note number 836200.
This note says that they must copy a file into a folder. From integration repository you will import this file and you will have SWCV SAP BASIS 7.00 with all the adapters definitions. They will be visible from Integration Directory.
Bye,

SAP PI 7.0 - Integration Directory No Adapter Types
Hello,
I have recently installed ECC 6.0 with usage type PI. I am trying to create a simple scenario in PI, but when i go to the Integration Directory to create a communication channel i do not get any Adapter Types, clicking on the input help shows no objects found for the adapter metadata.
Any help would be appreciated.
Leandro FonsecaHi,
There is no Precofiguration step available in PI 70 but it is available in PI 71.
Manual Loading
You will obtain SAP BASIS 70 tpz (XI Content) in SAP Service Market place.
service Maket place->SAP Patches -> Entry by Application component -> SAP Content -> ESR(XI Content) -> SAP BASIS 70
This file is available in SAP PI DVD software just search with *.tpz
In PI 710 when you do intial Netweave step Configuration using template based configuration this meta data automatically downloaded to Enterprise Service Repository.

Determine the adapter type in adapter module
Hi All,
How can I determine with in a adapter module (custom developed) which adapter type the message is currently being processed? I was planning to use the method Message.getProtocol() and according to the documentation this returns
"Returns the protocol of this message (i.e. message format)"
The result of this method is always "XI".
I want to have a generic module for file and soap adapters. With in the module, I want to perform a different set of operations depending on the adapter type.
Any inputs are highly appreciated.
Thanks
JaiThanks Stefan. I am able to get the adapter type now.
I am using
CPAFactory factory = CPAFactory.getInstance();
CPALookupManager lookup = factory.getLookupManager();
String strChannelId = moduleContext.getChannelID();
Channel channel = (Channel) lookup.getCPAObject(CPAObjectType.CHANNEL, strChannelId);
adapterType = channel.getAdapterType();
