AdapterMonitoring: Empty communication channel list
Hi out there,
i'm trying to create a RFCAdapter-Sender in SAP XI without success. I will find out the error and go to "Component Monitoring" -> "Display" (All) -> "Adapter Engine" -> "Communication Channel Monitor" But here is no communication channel shown. I have created my RFC-Sender-Adapter accordingly to a blog and the integration directory show the status of the adapter is active, but if i create a RFC-Destination (Registrated Programm) and test , than i get every time the error, that the programm id is not registred. I have no idea - i think i trydeverything to find out the reason....
can anyone help me to find the right log-files or give tips what else i can do ?
Thanks a lot
André
thought it would be of helpful to you...esp regarding the program id

U r checking for an IDoc channels in Communication channel monitoring.IDoc adapter is reside in ABAP stack. So that u cant see the Idoc communication channels from monitoring of CC's. If Idoc messages is at sender side no need of CC.
If you want to view the source and target messages of Idoc's u can see those from SXMB_MONI.Choose u r processed message,Dbl click,For Idoc as sender u can view the message from payloads of Inbound message,For Idos as Receiver u can view the message from Payloads of Request message Mapping.
Hope it will helps..

HI All ,
I have 500 plus communication channels in current project.

Please help me for downloading or way to generating this list

AmitHi Amitto,
Here you go............
There are occasions when the Integration Directory cannot meet our requirements when configuring objects
for our integration scenarios. SAP provides the Directory API to meet those special situations. However,
due to the nature of the product, there is little documentation available to help the developers. In this article,
a fully-functional program is presented to create, change and delete communication channels. The userinterface
to administer the configurations will be through the Excel spreadsheet.
Using this You can see all The comm channel properties in Excel.

Testing the JDBC adapter communication channel
Hi
I've created an interface which gets the sender payload using a JDBC adapter.
Basis have installed the JDBC driver for the database where the data resides
I've configured the communication channel to poll every 10 minutes
So far nothing appears to be happening
Can I test the communication channel independantly?
Is there a procedure to make the communication channel active?
Is there an admin area where I can see if there is an issue with the communication channel.
I've checked SMQ1, SMQ2 and SXMB_MONI and there are no messages
I've also checked runtime workbench => adapter monitoring => communication channels but I get an empty list
all help will be very much appreciatedHi Geoff,
It is not possible to check only the communication channel but we can check the complete scenario confogured in Integration Directory.
1. Open ID.
2. Goto Tools.
3. Provide the sender and the receiver parameters.
4. Also provide the payload in the Payload section.
5. Now, goto Test Configuration
6. Select Run.
This shows you, if there are any issues in the configuration.
Thanks, -

Configuring a Communication Channel for an AE other than the default IS
Configuring a Communication Channel for an Adapter Engine other than the default engine.
See: help.sap.com for Communication Channel http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1b/d5ef3b1ad56d4fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm
It states under 'Adapter Configuration', that you can specify the Adapter Engine you want to use in the Adapter Engine dropdown box.
I have activated the XI components on my ERP system using transaction SICF, but what do I have to do to make the other adapter engines show up in the dropdown list when configuring an adapter?
Maybe some background would be helpful: This is for a scenario that will send a file from an external system to one of the ERP systems in our landscape. BUT, the system admins have decided to revoke our FTP accounts (because they have their reasons), so I need to create a File Adapter that will drop the file on the file system of that ERP system, due to visibility I want to use the integrated Adapter Engine that comes with the ERP system, but need to know how/what I'm missing in setting up this scenario.Hi Anesh,
>>>>but what do I have to do to make the other adapter engines show up in the dropdown list when configuring an adapter?
in order to use some other adapter engine you
have to install it first by dafault only one
(central) adapter engine is used and it is all
most clients need
if you'd like to use some other adapter engine
(decentralized for example) have a look at thid guide:
<b>Configuring a Local Adapter Engine to Work with a Central Instance</b>

Recordset structure in receiver communication channel
Hi gurus!
I have a problem with my receiver communication channel it says "Unknown structure 'Headers' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)'"
It's for sure that the problem is in the configuration of the adapter.
My scenario is from iDoc to File and i need to write only one header and many Lines, i made the data type like:
Headers
---Header
Lines
---Line
And the problem is in the configurarion of the recordset structure and the lines below.
If you know another way better to make the data type to acommplish what i've to do, just tell me I just made it that way because i thought it could work.
If something is not clear just let me know, what i more need is the config. of the receiver adapter.
Thanx in advance.
JuanHi Juan
If i understand correctly .. you are doing FCC on your receiver communication channel...and the following is your Target Data type
Headers
---Header
Lines
---Line
and FCC parameters you created are as below
Recordset structure: Headers,Header,Lines,Line
Header.fieldSeparator \r\n
Header.endSeparator \r\n
Line.fieldSeparator \r\n
Line.endSeparator \r\n
If the above data is correct, then I would like you try out the FCC parameters in my previous post. Because in the FCC parameters, you used only substructures(Header and Line) and you did not mention the lists ( Headers and Lines). That's why i think it is errored out.
If my interpretation is wrong, please let me know where i went wrong, i will try to look at again. -
Unable to Find out Adapter Engine in the Communication Channel
Hi Experts,
I am Unable to select the Adapter Engine As Integration Server in the File Sender Communication Channel.
Please Let Me Know
Regards
KhannaHI Khanna
Check the SLD that Adapter Engine is insatlled and all the adapter has the metadata there.
Go to Transaction Code SXI_CACHE in the Inetgration Server(XI- ABAP stack) Then you can see the list of components.
Just have a look into Menu Bar - in there goto : GoTo->Adapter Engine Cache ( if the status is green - then it is correct-otherwise you need to refreshit.)
You just go thru mentioned document from service.sap.com/nw04
You will get the full info about that.

Just try with Visual Administrator to check the services for the adapter engine are running or not
All services starts with SAP XI..
SAP XI AF Core
SAP XI AF CPA Cache
SAP XI AF Messaging
SAP XI Adapter XI
SAP XI AF Security
Check SAP note on CPACache- 741214 and also 824236.
Let me know if any errors..

SOAP ACTION IN SOAP ADAPTER and PROGRAM IF IN RFC COMMUNICATION CHANNEL
Hi Gurus,
Please Explain me what is SOAP action in soap adapter what is the use of it.
What is the Program ID in the RFC communication channel and what is the use of it.
Please tell me in Detail.
Thanks and Regards,
RAM.Hi,
Please Explain me what is SOAP action in soap adapter what is the use of it.
As of W3C definition:
The SOAPAction HTTP request header field can be used to indicate the intent of the SOAP HTTP request. The value is a URI identifying the intent. SOAP places no restrictions on the format or specificity of the URI or that it is resolvable. An HTTP client MUST use this header field when issuing a SOAP HTTP Request.
The presence and content of the SOAPAction header field can be used by servers such as firewalls to appropriately filter SOAP request messages in HTTP. The header field value of empty string ("") means that the intent of the SOAP message is provided by the HTTP Request-URI. No value means that there is no indication of the intent of the message.
Putting things simple, this is an identifier of an operation that you want to execute in the web service (as one web service can offer multiple actions).
What is the Program ID in the RFC communication channel and what is the use of it.
Again, this is an identifier for both: RFC sender and receiver systems. It tells the receiver where to listen for connections, and the sender - where to send the data. It works a little bit like a port number in HTTP communication, but with less restrictions.
Hope this helps,
Greg -
Java Stored Proc - ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Help with error please.
Running java stored procedure and getting
end-of-file error. This error occurs after successful connection established.
Simple function returns a java.util.String that is a coded version of the DATE parameter. Procedure does not use a connection object.
Error message and description list below.
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Cause: An unexpected end-of-file was processed on the communication channel. The problem could not be handled by the Net8, two task, software. This message could occur if the shadow two-task process associated with a Net8 connect has terminated abnormally, or if there is a physical failure of the interprocess communication vehicle, that is, the network or server machine went down.
Action: If this message occurs during a connection attempt, check the setup files for the appropriate Net8 driver and confirm Net8 software is correctly installed on the server. If the message occurs after a connection is well established, and the error is not due to a physical failure, check if a trace file was generated on the server at failure time. Existence of a trace file may suggest an Oracle internal error that requires the assistance of customer support.
I am currently looking into the trace file as suggested.

Communication channel not selectable in monitoring
Dear experts,
From SAP 4.6c, I want to send data to XI via RFC adapter. I did the following:
- create an RFC on sap 4.6 with no coding, only parameters;
- import the RFC in the integration repository;
- did the message- and interfacemapping to my outputstructure there;
- configured everything in the integration directory, so comm.channel, send/receiv determination etc.
- on the SAP system, created an abap that fills the parameters for the RFC and calls RFC with destination = XI system.
I created a Sender Comm.channel (from SAP to XI) with adaptertype RFC and set it to Active.
Now, when I look in the Communication Channel Monitoring in the Runtime Workbench, I can not select the CC. I'just does not appear when I press "input help" button. I must e forgetting something but I have no idea what...
Can anybody please help?
Thanks in advance
WilliamHi JWD,
Check in your change list whether it is activated or not. If activated you should be able to see.

The Communications Channel based in JDBC Adapter in order to Receive
We have a several communication channel based in jdbc adapter connecting to Oracle database in order to receive information from our R3 System, but now is not working i do not see any message error in our XI, i see that the message was succefull procesed but when you see the oracle database is empty. When you see the jdbc adapter in the runtime workbench i see only this message
"Receiver Adapter v2112 for Party '', Service 'SIOPRO':
Configured at 16:12:31 2006-07-18
Up and running - no message processing until now"
Somebody know what is happening? Is the message monitoring is showing success ? If there is no error in SXMB_MONI, Message Monitoring->Audit Log (i.e
http://hostname:portnumber/MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp ), then I think, it is unable to find the Adapter channel.
Anyway try to restart the Adapter engine. It may help you.

Communication Channels do not appear in the monitor
I have just created a sender and receiver file adapter and activated them. I tested them in a process by dropping a file into the sender directory with a 10 second poll interval. The file is not being processed.
If I check the corresponding Integration Server Adapter Engine status, there is a green light, BUT When I select the Communication Channel Monitoring button, there are no channels!
Also, although I have created parties that use these channels, they also do not appear in the filter drop down list.
Is there some reason why these channels are not appearing?
Just for clarification; this is on a new XI installation.
Kind Regards,
