Adapters for IBM mainframe applications

I wanted to know if oracle provides adapters for connecting IDM mainframe system? If yes, does it come by default with SOA Suite or it has to be purchased separately?
Is there any link where I can find the complete list of adapters (both licensed & free) Oracle provides to its customers?

From your description, since the agent installs file with a different JRE, I would suspect it has something to do with the availability of JCE provider in the first JRE. By default, WebSphere's JRE is equipped with IBM JCE provider which is what the agent uses to encrypt the necessary
information. If this provider is not configured correctly it could result in the error that you are seeing. Please check the WebSphere installation and make sure that the JRE used by it has the necessary IBM JCE provider configured. The java.security file for this should contain something like:
security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
security.provider.2=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCE
security.provider.3=com.ibm.jsse.IBMJSSEProvider
security.provider.4=com.ibm.security.cert.IBMCertPath
security.provider.5=com.ibm.crypto.pkcs11.provider.IBMPKCS11
Also, make sure that when you are installing the agent you specify the Java Home as prompted by the agent to point to the location where this JRE is installed. Typically this is under WebSphere/AppServer/java directory. HTH, Jerry

Multiple adapters for the same applications

Hello.
We are developing an integration scenario in which we have multiple instances of the same application (96 instances).
We want to integrate them but deploying 96 adapters in Istudio is hard to maintain and useless because all the adapters do the same thing and the applications do the same too (they're all equal).
Is there any way i can see only one or few adapters that represents all application instances?

Yes, during the "create instance" wizard you can select how many instances do you want to create for a particular solution (see screen-shot below).

Does the tn3270 server (with CIP/CPA on 7200) router can be attached to a IBM mainframe running VSE/ESA operatinf system ?

Sure, this works fine. The CPA is what is used in the 7200, and is functionally identical to the CIP.

Kodo 3.3.0 Eclipse plugin for IBM Rational Application Developer 6.0

I tried to add the Kodo eclipse plugin to IBM RAD 6.0 which uses eclipse
3.0 instead of 2.1.
Following the instuction to install the eclipse plugin as follow.
First copy the directory kodo.eclipse_2.1.0 directory from the eclipse
directory
Is this still ok to copy kodo.eclipse_2.1.0 to eclipse 3.0 plugin?

Kodo's eclipse plugin follows Eclipse versioning semantics as each
plugin is marked with the -plugin- version number, not which version of
Eclipse it is compatible. So Kodo's 2.1 version number indicates the
feature set of the plugin. Its a tad confusing, but we also didn't want
to force people to make drastic changes to their plugin directory when
each minor patch is released. For the most part, you can simply put in
the newest version of kodo-jdo.jar and plugin.xml.

Biztalk 2K13 or R2 and BizTalk Adapters for Enterprise Applications

I have a BTS 2K13 (upgraded to 2K13 R2), when trying to do "Install MS Biztalk Adapters,
Steps 1 finishes with success
Step2 as well
Step 3 as well
Step 4 Install Microsoft Biztalk Adapters for Enterprise Applications fails with a very strange message £
"Microsoft Biztalk Adapters for Enterprise Applications requires MS BTS 2013. Installation cannot continue".
followed by a 2nd dialogbox indication "Adapter could not be installed. Please try running the setup again to install this adapter"
This also happened before upgrading to R2Thanks for your help

We discussed the topic about upgrading to BizTalk Server 2013 R2 before. You need to run the setup for BizTalk 2013 R2 installation and you will be prompted for upgrade as setup itself detects the lower version i.e., 2013.

IBM Virtual IO Server for SAP Production Application Servers

Hi.
We are planning to host SAP (AIX/Oracle) on a new IBM p-570. We want to install a LPAR for the DB/CI and 2 additional LPAR's for DI's. The problem is that we have to use Virtual Ethernet connections for the 2 DI's since we do not have physical network adapters for them. Will this be a SAP supported configuration or not, and why not?

Hi Pieter,
your plan is totally feasible and supported by SAP.
You can use the VIO server to provide both Ethernet and I/O connections for all LPARs which do have have own physical adapters.
All specifics of micropartitioning and HW virtualization (like VIO) under AIX 5.3 and System p technology are supported. There are multiple SAP customers, who use this setup for their whole system environment.

We are purchasing "SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS" as the secure FTP server.

2. What is the best way to maintain the username and password in the oc4j-ra.xml of the FTP adapter?

Unfortunately there are some concerns with FTPS connectivity with XI.
As you know SFTP is not yet possible with XI, but somehow you could use FTPS.
Please confirm below things this may help you
1. Please make sure to Activate Secure Storage in the File System after Deploying the SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit. Check below thread for the detail procedure

3. Search the options of your client's software to find where its public and private keys are stored, these are 2 files present on the FTP server, then put the Public key of the XI server on the Client FTP Server and likewise for the Public Key of the FTP Server on the XI Server.
This enables the SSL handshake, i.e. Exchange of certificates.

Oracle JDBC thin driver on NT vs IBM mainframe Linux

We are develping an Java 3-tier web application on NT platform. The database is Oracle 9i. The JDBC Driver is Oracle thin driver (oracle.jdbc.driver in classes12.jar). Java is JDK1.3. We are told recently that we may need to deploy this application on IBM mainframe Linux systems when we go production. pplication server will be running on IBM mainframe Linux, and assume Oracle will be the same.)
My question is if you know that we will be able to use the same Oracle thin driver that we use on NT platform when we deploy our application to IBM mainframe Linux system. Is there a specific JDBC driver that we must use when running application server and Oracle on IBM mainframe Linux

No, thin driver is same for all platforms (binary) - You must set SQL*Net on Linux only

I just got CP5. I am working on a project where I need to create training and assessment simulation for an IBM iSeries application. ISeries applications must be run in a mainframe emulator and are text command in tensive. CP4 did not capture text entries or command entries, I guess becuse the fields are not GUI text boxes. I had to do text entries manually. Has this changed in CP5? Has anyone successfull done a capture of an iSeries app using the IBM emulator?

There are two different types of adapter for sending data from a sender application
system to the Integration Server:
Adapters that can be actively addressed, for example the ABAP proxy adapter, the plain HTTP adapter, the IDoc adapter
Polling adapters, for example the file/FTP adapter and the mail adapter
Can anyone specify which adapters can be actively addressed? I'm using XI scaling and need to know which adapters I have to point to the adapter engine, versus polling adapters.
