Adapters to Integrate SAP XI and Siebel system

Hi,
Can anyone guide as to which Adapters would be useful to integrate SAP XI and Siebel system. Can we use SAP standard adpaters if so which one ..please let me know ?
Thanks.

Hi ,
The new Siebel versions includes CORBA and MQ APIs .you could use the JMS Adapter from XI ( which is for free ) and connect to MQ to that.
and as such there are no Siebel adapters for Xi apart from using them from iWay which i agree with Frank.
Have a great day!
Venkat

Basically you need to use client proxy.
    A) Create data type , mesg typ, service inteface, message mapping and interface mapping as usual in ESR
    B) In Integration Directory, YOu dont need sender communication channel and sender agreement. Because you are using client proxy. rest are all same
    C) You need to do proxy configuration between SAP BW and PI to establish connection
Note: PI to sap apo system communication is already known. Then in PI target message follow that system structure in ESB and use the supported adapter for that system in Integration Directory.
    Hope this helps

  • Connection Between SAP GTS and Legacy systems

    Hi GTS Experts,
Could you please let me know how to connect between SAP GTS and Legacy systems.
This is for transfer of Customers, Vendors,Materials(Products in GTS),Transaction Data.
Could you please provide any documentation on this and is it PI team will do or functional guy.
    One more question:
Customer created a sales order with sold to and ship to(both contains same address) in legacy system.
Then it will be sent to SPL screening in GTS.
Now he will change ship to address and this should not be passed to SPL screening-- how to do this.
    Regards,
    Murali

    Hi Murali,
Apart from what Dave mentioned as above, although there is no such document available apart from SAP Standard content document but its something that is very standard to other modules as well.
Actually, you need to have a middle ware like SAP PI or any non SAP Product between SAP and Non SAP Legacy system. Also, mapping should be defined well in advance in this. Then it will also involve the EDI at the SAP GTS system end and Web skills( or applicale connection skills) at the Legacy system end to ensure appropriate mapping and interchange of realistic data.
Here, I would like to know if your legacy system had already some SAP system connected to it?.

This is related to memory issues in SAP R3.Please let me know the minimum system requirement to do the above activity,
for example RAM,parameters to be set from basis point of view, etc. The backend is MSSQL 2003 having RAM of 20GB.There is around one crore of data.

  • As Integrate SAP PS and  c_Project

    Hi every body
We are an organization that finance projects in Different countries, they do the implementation them selves. What we do is monitoring them and disburse the money based on each contract they issue for each equipement , so for us we need to keep information about these contracts and the disbursement. Most the activites which we need from contacting and sharing information and direct requests, contracts information can be done using c_Projects and c_Folders , but the actual contracts componants and disbursements needs PS as we think(using full PS system is too much for us), my question is what is the best practice and how can we integrate PS and c_projects for our case.
    Thanks
    Jamal

    Hi Jamal,
You have raised this in wrong component. You can raise this issue in
ERP Financials or SAP PLM(product lifecycle management) system.

  • Options for loading data from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC

    Hello All,
    I am new to SAP.
As part of data conversion planning from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC systems, I need to know the different tools available for loading the data and comparative analysis of the tools by showing the features. Please also describe the process to evaluate the tools (prototyping, technical discussions etc) and make the recommendations.
I would also appreciate any information on testing tools like (eCATT) and any third party tools (like Informatica)
I know I am asking for lot of things here. But, I really appreciate any information reagrding this.
    Thanks,
    Balu

    Hi
Data Migration(Conversions) mainly involves the following Major Steps
    Discovery->Extract->Cleanse->Transform->Load
Discovery-> Involves identifying various source systems available where the actual data is residing.
Extract->Extract the data from the source systems(legacy systems)
Cleanse->Cleanse the data by enriching it,De-duplications etc
Transform->Transform the data into SAP Loadable format
Load->Upload the data into SAP Using the Load Programs(Eg,BDC,LSMW,Data Transfer Workbench,BAPIs etc)
Also i would request you to visit http://www.businessobjects.com/solutions/im/data_migration.asp

  • Stop SAP - CI and AS

    Hello,
I have a system that has primary CI + AS and standby CI + AS.
What is the best order to stop/start  them ?
    STOP:
on the Primary I stop first the DB or the AS that has no DB ?
I would say that I have to stop AS ( SAP ) and then on CI ( SAP + DB ).
on the Standby I stop first the stby AS (SAP) and than the STBY CI. ( SAP +DB )
    START:
on the primary I start the CI ( SAP + DB ) and then start the AS ( SAP ).
on the stby I start the CI ( SAP +DB ) and then start the AS ( SAP).
Of course I will check the synchronization afer.
Thanks in advance to let me know if this is the order.

You will stop the system in following order:
    1) AS
    2) CI
    3) DB
Starting up will be reverse order: DB, CI and last AS.
Not sure why you need Standby SAP (CI and AS) system ? Normally its just the DB that companies implement as a standby.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to integrate SIEBEL systems with SAP Enterprise portal

Hi all, i need some materials or any links on how SIEBEL system can be integrated with portals.
    thanks in advance
                     vijay.k

    Hello
I will soon face the same pb (SAP EP will have to access SAP R3 and also Siebel) so I'm also interested in the answer.
What I've found so far :
    - With Siebel 7.8, there should be new technologies - called DDK - which should ease the access of Siebel objects from portals (through jsp pages and Web services).
According to Siebel publication, "it's easy" ...
But I've done any test yet ...
There is also the possibility to use Siebel Web Server and make only a URL link between the portal and Siebel Web server.
Hope it helps and that we'll have more information
    Regards
    Benoit

  • SAP XI  and WBI adapters

I have a customer who wants to integrate their SAP systems with the EAI solution (WebSphere Message Broker 5*) using XI 3.0 in the future. They basically would like to go:
SAP System -> IDOC adapter -> SAP XI 3.0 -> IDOC adapter -> WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for mySAP.com -> WebSphere.
They would like to use the WBI adapter for mySAP.com as they have already used this to transfer IDOCs directly from SAP systems to WebSphere in the past (XI not involved). Is it possible to use the 'WBI adapter for mySAP.com' in the above scenario? Not quite sure how the IDOC adapter can be configured to talk to the WBI adapter for mySAP.com as the R/3 application is obviously not part of SAP XI. I am also not sure if the WBI adapter for mySAP.com can even talk to XI 3.0?
It looks like there is also a 'WBI Adapter for XI'. The WBI adapter for XI looks like it supports the JMS adapter and the SOAP adapter only - not the IDOC adapter. Please could you confirm this. Also, is this a separate adapter that the customer would need to purchase/license from IBM? If you want to integrate WBI with XI do you HAVE to use the WBI adapter for XI as you can communicate directly with WebSphere MQ Series using the JMS adapter within XI. What benefit does the WBI adapter for XI offer over XI communicating directly with the WebSphere MQ Series?
Is there any documentation/how to guides for the above scenario that you know of? I have seen one for XI 2.0 using the JMS adaptor and WBI adapter for XI but nothing for XI 3.0.
I see the customer has 3 options :-
    1) Try to use the idoc adapter in XI to connect to the WBI adapter for mySAP.com (if possible - not sure)
    2) Try to use the idoc?/JMS/SOAP adapter in XI to connect to WBI adapter for XI (The customer would need to purchase this adapter)
    3) Use the JMS adaptor in XI to connect to WebSphere MQ Series directly and bypass all WBI adapters.
Many Thanks for any help and advice you can give me in advance,
    Best regards,
    Jo

    Hello Joanne,
first of all there is some documentation IBM has prepared within a redbook. Which is also available via SDN.
This redbook describes next to the WebSphere connectivity for back-end systems like SAP R/3 also the interoperability on message broker level, meaning between SAP XI and WBI family. This message based interoperability is achieved via SOAP and JMS. Whereas the JMS connectivity is mainly done via former MQ Series, which then acts as an adapter for WBI brokers.
If the customer does have this scenario I would prefer variant 3 you mentioned. Technically this is not different to variant 2. The WBI adapter for SAP XI is a bundling of the equivalent JMS and SOAP adapter on SAP XI side.
Variant 1 would not make sense in my eyes, since you do have IDOC communication between two systems and including a third system for intermediate purpose, where I do not see a benefit right now (maybe I know the customer scenario not well enough...)
Hope that helps to provide an answer to your customer
    Thx
    Jens
