Hello,
i got a question about the Adaptiv Computing Controller.
Do i need NFS Mounts for the Application servers?
Or can i handle this from the SAN too?
Can anybody help me here?

I need to do things to directories and files on the application server.
Is there an SAP class with methods for the application server file system (i.e. unix or whatever) with functionality similiar to what is provided by the methods of CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES for the presentation server?

There are installations guides for the various Oracle Application Server offerings. So my first suggestion would be to have a look around relevant documentation section of OTN and see what you can learn.
As you've mentioned OC4J, that does indicate you are looking at Oracle Application Server 10g:

Update Planning table but need to restart Web application server

Hi All,
We want to update the process state externally. After updating table, Windows services (Web application server) need to be restarted.
However, the updating operation could be done frequently so that we can get real-time result. How to notify Planning application to refresh its data without restarting services ?
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi,
Planning uses a caching system where it caches the current state of the relational tables. If changes are made in planning then the cache is updated and the tables.
If you update the tables directly the cache will not be updated so planning will still hold its previous state. I don't think there is an easy way round this and there is no simple update cache procedure.
If you do need to update tables directly then the only sure way of clearing the cache is to restart the web app.

NFS Mounting of the Server

Dear all,
I want to mount one folder from the remote server to the local. I shared the folder in the remote server but I am unable to see the shared folder with dfshares command neither from local server nor from remote server as dfshare pegas (remote server name)
I am getting following error while trying to execute the command.
# dfshares
nfs dfshares:pegasusnode1: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Timed out
dfshares pega
nfs dfshares:pega: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Unable to receive

If the server had no shares before, it's likely that the nfs server daemons have not been started.
After populating /etc/dfs/dfstab, start the nfs/server service.

Did you own Office? What version of Microsoft Office did you have installed. You can still run Office 2004 on Snow Leopard but Office 2004 will not work under Lion and higher. Any extra settings I need to make for Sql Server 2012 Install for the purpose of SP 2013

I am going to install sql serevr 2012 Ent on a stand alone server Win 2012 box[ say Server2] and I want to make this machine as a db box and will make other box[say Server1] SharePoint box.
[ On Server1 where there is no sql server installed ].
Do I need to make any extra settings /any mappings/config entries in this box before I install sql on this Server2 box.
I mean, in terms of creation of a separate sql instance is required etc ....
In my prev.installations as a standalone SP install with sql installed on the same box.
I am facing issue with development with SP 2013. Because though I am having 16GB RAM in one of my dev machines, with the s/ws like VS 2012, SP D 2013 along with SP 2013 & SQL SEREVR 2012, the debugging is almost NOT
happening[ its taking "minutes" to hit a breakpoint] at all.
help is appreciated!

to instal sharepoint,farm account should have below rights on sql DB.

Could you not save money and buy a photon for use with your existing server? You could install 2 HBAs and use it in split bus mode.
For true redundancy however, you need 2 servers ideally in 2 locations. ;o)

Here is a very basic example. I pulled out all the extra error trapping / logging. I have been building a module that simplifies most of this .. will produce simple Dumper output for what you are generally looking to do.
The below example will connect to a default UCSM emulator ( http://developer.cisco.com/web/unifiedcomputing/start ) .. just change IP to match. If you want a significantly more detailed information ( hierarchical ) ... change inHierarchical="false" to inHierarchical="true".

Need help about Oracle Application Server Terms

Is Oracle Application Server called Weblogic Server?
What is the difference between it and the HTML_DB or Application Express? are they the same? Can all run JSP? and what other supported languages?
I am just little bit confused about those terms(Middleware, Application Server, HTTP Server, HTML_DB, Application Express, Oracle Fusion)
Would appreciate if someone can explain them briefly with examples for getting more clear.

T61p - Need 2 HDs for virtual server

Hello everyone,
I am looking to configure a T61p with using the option for the media drive bay adapter with a second hard drive. I would like to put two 100GB/7200rpm HDs in the notebook to run both the application and the server at the same time for demos to clients. Is there any other way to configure the T-Series with two hard drives, WITHOUT using an external drive? One of the drives will hold the application and the other will hold SQL or similar. Does anyone see any problems with taking this on?
Any help would be great.

The T61 wasn't around when they wrote the description for the adapter, they tend not to update them.
You can find suitable accessories on this site. Just enter in you type and model number. (hdd adapter should be on about page 4)

Can you re-export an nfs mount as an nfs share

If so what is the downside?
I'm asking because we currently have an iscsi san and a recent upgrade
severely degraded iscsi connectivity. consequently can't mount my iscsi
volumes.

Depending on which Novell OS you are running.... this subform is for NetWare, but I suspect you are using OES Linux.
I've never tried creating a NCP share on OES for a remote NFS mount on the server. My first guess would be it is not allowed and also not a good practice. You could however, with this situation and if you are running an OES2 or OES 11 Linux server, try configuring an NFS mount on the OES server and then configuring the NCP share on that using remote manager on the server.
What I would recommend however to see if the iSCSI issue cannot be fixed or worked around.
Could you describe a bit more of the situation there/what happened and what is not working on that end?
