ADB and FASTBOOT on Android devices are failed in Windows 8.1 RTM

I am using windows 8.1 upgrades laptop, on which i found that adb and fastboot drivers are not working. It is giving error (device
failed enumeration)
I have tried every possible way on internet to update the driver but no success.
Please provide us the solution to work with it properly

Based on my research, I suggest you try the following steps to see if it works.
1.Press "Start Key/Windows Key + C" or move your cursor to top right corner of the screen to activate the Charm Bar and click on "Settings Button" as shown in following figure.
2.The setting panel will open. Click "Change PC Settings" from the bottom as shown.
3.You will have this PC Settings screen. Click on General Tab. and scroll down to the bottom to find "Advance Start up Option" as shown below and click on Restart. This is immediate restart so make sure all programs are closed and saved.
4.Your PC will reboot into Advance Start Up option. And you will see following screen. Now simply press on "Troubleshoot" option.
5..In troubleshoot click on "Advance Options”. In advance option select "Start-Up Settings" .
6.Now just press restart button in Start-Up settings as shown below. Your system will reboot in Start-Up Option Mode.
7.After your system is rebooted you will get this following screen. Here to choose options we have to use function keys. Now press "F7" to select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" .
Now your PC will boot with Disabled Driver Signature Enforcement and you will be able to install Flashtool/Fastboot drivers.
You can get this drivers from Post #2.
If the issue persists, I think the ADB fast boot related driver had a compatibility problem with Windows 8.1.
Also, I will forward this case to our product team.

I have several PCs at hand, and they all fail the same way specifically after updating to Windows 8.1, although I think I've heard complaints of some W8 users as well, but I tested one recently and it was fine, so I'll stick with the update only.
I put the device(s) in fastboot mode, wait for a little long time, longer than usual. Then it displays:
Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)
Now, as far as I understand, there was a similar problem with Sony devices: http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=2598155 which was fixed with update KB2917929.
Here's what I did: Messed a lot with the Windows drivers, and while getting no result, I found a website that guided me into forcing some Windows 7 drivers on my USB 3.0 hub. Now, all fastboot devices work fine on the two 3.0 ports, but 3.0 devices fail
to work properly. For example, my external drive connects and then disconnects and stays dc/ed.
There's been a hell lot of people having this problem. A simple google search will reveal a lot of cases.
I repeat: All 8.1 systems have the same problem. Tested on at least 3. It's not a simple driver issue since there's different brands and vendors. The only problem I have is with Microsoft drivers. Please fix this as we are many who need to use proper fastboot.

Compatibility regarding what? :) Why do they work on W8? Why not on 8.1? Why do they only work on 8.1 with older USB drivers? Drivers that have severe compatibility issues.
Let me get this straight. Without installing any fastboot drivers, when devices are connected in fastboot, they STILL give a Unknown
USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration) error!

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

I have both Apple and Android devices. My Android devices will not stay connected to wireless . I have the Airport Express. The Android devices are a Galaxy S4 and Tab 3. These both worked perfectly on my ancient Linksys WRT 120 N wireless router.

I have called Apple support twice and no one can confrm or deny as to whether Android devices can connect with the Airport Express. I have had the it configured 3 times so far and my Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 are useless with the Airport Express.

BTW what did you mean by using my old wireless router as a AP?
Every Wireless router ever made is actually made of two components..
A router and a wireless AP. (AP = Access Point).
To use any wireless router as a AP you simply bypass or turn off the router..
In an Apple router this is called Bridge mode..
In many routers it is known as AP or WAP mode.
But often they do not have the option..
Set it up manually.. we call this WAN bypass as it will bypass the router.
So what you do is open your wireless router setup page in your browser.. go to the LAN setup page.
You need to do two things.
1. Turn off the dhcp server.
2. Set the LAN IP to match the main router..
For instance if your plug it into your apple router and it is at the default IP.. 10.0.1.1 then set the Linksys to 10.0.1.254
The Linksys is then updated.. Plug the ethernet cable from LAN port apple router to LAN port WRT120 (not WAN)
Now with a computer plugged into the apple router or into the Linksys .. by ethernet.. open the IP address you just set.. go to the wireless tab in the setup and give the wireless SSID a suitable name for your other (non-apple) products.. voila.. you have now turned a wireless router into an AP.

I can't sync my mobile with laptop, and dialogue on android device gets stuck. Is this a bug?

I use my Ee PC notebook as the "main device" and have successfully synced with my other laptop. When I try to sync with Android Phone however, I don't get a 3 x 4 digit code that I should enter in the dialogue pop-up on the main device.
My Android also shows 3x4 dots where i´m supposed to enter the code. So, no code, and two empty 3x4 dot dialogue pop-ups.
Worse, the dialoge pop-up on my Android device gets "stuck", It does not respond to the cancel button and won't go away when I use the arrow back-button on the device.

Thank you for your reply. I tried to sync using the Sync key (by tapping "I don't have the device with me"), but again: the dialog pop-up on my android got stuck and I had to restart it.
Now I have trouble to log the bug to file it. I suppose I have to log the Android activity, since that is the device I'm having trouble with (syncing two laptops worked fine). But I have no idea were to find "about:sync-log" on my droid phone :-S

How to import photos and videos from Android device?

I just bought Photoshop Elements 11 recently and I'm trying to import photos and videos from my phone, Samsung Galaxy SIII, but having a little trouble.
When I go to "Import from Camera or Card Reader" option and choose my phone from the "Get photos from" drop down menu in "Source" section the "Photo downloader" finds
every single photo and/or video stored on the device and it's memory card but I'm trying to import only photos and/or videos I've shot my self with the phone, witch is kept
in an folder named DCIM, but I simply can't figure out how to so my question is:
How do I import photos and/or videos from my Android device?

Try clicking Advanced button (bottom left) in the downloader dialog. You should then be able to select and deselect thumbnails and import only the ones you give the checkmark.

Windows Devices are Failing Log In

However when I check the event log on the individual machines I am seeing successful logons immediately followed by logoffs (in the same second). The account I have set up on the machines is an Admin Level user account with the same User Name and PW across the network.
Spice UI is also confirming that I have ports 445 (micro_ds), 3389 (rdp), 135 (wmi), 139 (netbios_ssn) open on the machines.
Majority of the machines are running windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, a couple are on windows 8. I do have 4 windows 7 machines that are authenticating as expected.
Any help would be appreciated.

I changed my apple ID email address and now all my devices are signed in under the old apple ID, but it wont let me change the icould account on any without a password. The problem is my new password for the new apple ID won't work or the old? help!!!!

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iCloud on your devices after updating your Apple ID. I recommend the following steps:
Symptoms
iOS 7 may ask for the password to your previous Apple ID when you sign out of iCloud.
Resolution
1. Use your current Apple ID password
Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.

All other content appears to sync OK and my ios5 devices (iPhone 4s and iPad 2) are syncing fine. I suspect this could be an iCloud issue as my iPhone 3G is not compatible with iCloud. Can anyone help me out with this issue?

I solved this issue by turning off iCloud contacts sync - then my iPhone 3G would sync through iTunes as normal. I then just turned iCloud contacts sync back on. Job done!

Solved: adb won't list android device

I was banging head against this for a few days. I tried all the udev rules out there. Then realized they didn't apply if running as root. so I google my device id and saw a post about usb_modeswitch (http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/) I installed the package and problem is solved.

My husband is getting all of my childrens messages on his phone. How can I change that or does he need his own apple ID? If so do we need to rest his phone to register it under him?

Yes he would need his own apple id for imessage/facetime and icloud.
In the meantime on his device go to settings - message - send&receive - remove the shared apple id.

Multimedia Audio Controller, and Video Controller(VGA compatible) are missing on Windows XP(32Bit) SP3

My Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM, and Graphics Card with 256MB of RAM)
Also, My Desktop Computer with P 4 doesn't have any access internet since there is no network adapter is installed. As a result, I would not be able to run the pc scan utility, or Reader a web-based applet that identifies my GPU or Audio controller
and finds the latest graphics driver for my GPU, and Audio.
I have two Windows XP installations:
Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is old and it seems it infected by some viruses.
I have installed another fresh clean Windows XP(32Bit) SP3. However, I have two devices not detected well by Windows XP.
First of all, when saying that I have multi-operationgs systems, I mean there are two operating systems installed on my PC(SP2, SP3) both are 32Bit. The first Windows SP2(NOT installed by me) has all multimedia audio card installed well,
and has SCSI and RAID Host Controller shown the device manager. However, only the VGA is not installed on Windows SP2. However, the second one Windows SP3(Installed by me) has VGA not installed, Multimedia audio NOT installed, and there is no SCSI and RAID

that worked for me, maybe it will help someone else that went through what i did, its a miracle i did not top myself after going through all this BS. ALSO dont threaten your computer with violence, cos it will always call your bluff which makes things worse

Dc/dvd drive not functioning and not recognized in device manager after installing Windows 7 OS

I have an HP Pavilion laptop, model # dv9617nr, which was originally loaded (from the factory) with Windows Vista. I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 a few months ago, and initially, everything worked fine. Within the last month, however, my DVD/CD ROM optical drive stopped working and is not recognized in Explorer, and does not show up in Device Manager. I have tried a number of fixes from this forum and the Microsoft Windows 7 forums, with no positive effect. I should note that upon inserting a disc in the drive, everything sounds normal (device spins and the external LED lights up) but nothing happens and the unit shuts down.
I have no idea if this is a software or a hardware issue. I did check the HP website for software and driver updates for my model and the Windows7 OS, but HP has no update for this PC running this OS. ANY help is greatly appreciated.

Photoshop Elements 13 only runs on Windows 7 and 8. It will not install or run on Vista.
