Adblock for Safari 7 doesn't block ads

Over the past couple of weeks adblock plugins isn't blocking ads on any sites. On adblock twitter says: "Hi, we have some issues with Safari 6.1 and 7.0. This is not bug on our side but in Safari, so we couldn't fix this now. We are in contact with Safari team, so the fix from safari could come soon, hopelfully. When Apple fix it?

For example, on youtube page, also shown ads before video. Below a couple screenshots.

I need to block ads. Do they make Adblock for Safari 4 OSX 10.4.11 or any other ad blockers? I lke the speed of Safari 4 but im not switching unless i can block ads.

    Hi Mark
This may be Tiger/Safari 4 compatible:
    http://code.google.com/p/safariblock/
It will install a plugin in your HD>Library>InputManagers folder. If Safari crashes, then simply go to the Finder and remove the plugin, then restart Safari.

  • Workflow for payment release doesn't block the FI Document by tnx MIRO

Hi Gurus, we are implementing the Workflows for all the Payable Accounts, we don't have problem with txn FB60, the documents posted are automatically blocked but with txn MIRO it doesn't happen.
In customizing I set the "RE" Class Document (Invoice Verification) like the KR (Vendor FI Invoice) to work in that workflow.
Is the same case for the txn PRRW (travel management) in Travel expenses for example.
    I appreciate your help.

  • Ad blocker for you tube is not blocking ads

I installed the ad blocker that was listed for you tube. But I am still seeing ads.
Is there something more I need to do?

    Hello,
    Try contacting the developer:
    * http://www.vhunters.com/site.php#contacts
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/smart-ads-blocker/
It could be that YouTube changed how ads are loaded and the developer needs to update the extension.

  • Safari adblock not blocking ads anymore...

    Hi,
I have been using Safari adblock for a long time now. However, it is no longer blocking any ads even in common websites like cnn.com or news.bbc.co.uk. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing and made sure safari is running in 32 bit mode. But it doesn't seem to work. Did any one face a similar problem?

I am having the same problem and it started today and manifests itself on two separate MacBook Pros
    - Both running Safari AdBlock 0.4.0 RC3.
    - One laptop is running Leopard the other Snow Leopard.
    - The Laptop running Snow Leopard is running Safari in 32-Bit mode.
    - In Safari>Preferences>Security> Block pop-up windows is enabled
    - In Safari>Preferences>Ad Block> is enabled
    - Safari>Block Popup windows> is checked
Since this thread is marked as answered I created a separate thread to continue this discussion.

  • Why won't my Air download Adblock Plus for Safari?

It appears that Adblock Plus now has a Safari version but when I go to the official site and try to download, I get an error message saying the file won't download.  I tried going over to Chrome with the same issue (Adblock Plus for Chrome).
The authorized App Store adblock program *****.

Safari on iOS doesn't support plugins or extensions of any type. Whether Chrome does I can't say, but there's no version of Adblock Plus for it nor any of the other iOS web browsers.
    Regards.

  • Username and password for Windows doesn't work for Safari

I just installed Safari 3.0.3 for windows under WindowsXP on local machine. But I have problem access local IIS.
    Here is what I did:
    1. type http://localhost in Safari
    2. I get a pop up login window says "To view this page, you need to log in to area localhost on localhost:80",
    3. I entered my username and password to Windows, then "Enter"
    4. The pop up window comes back, it says "the name and password entered for are localhost on localhost:80 is incorrect."
I don't see this problem in IE or Firefox on the same machine. In Firefox, it pops a similar window ask for username and password, I entered the same username and password to Windows, it works. But in Safari, it doesn't.
I am wondering if anyone knows how to solve this problem. thanks.

    Hi,
i've couple of ideas that might help...
    1:
just wandering are either of you guys accessing the internet via a proxy server? if so i suspect that Safari is not by bypassing local addresses and hitting the proxy server first.
if this is the case, Safari should respect the same settings that IE does, so try setting IE and/or FF to bypass the proxy for local address/servers - and see if Safari now works...
    2:
also, the text box that ask's you for your password, does it say on it somewhere, something like, "password will be sent clear" or "password will be sent encrypted"
i seem to get a similar problem, but with accessing our work ISA server, my localhost is fine btw. Anyway it might be the case the safari is trying to send a clear text password to an encrpyted password request or vica-verca (sp?) - soooo try setting your IIS to accept clear/basic authentation as well at NT Auth/Encrypted
ok, hope that helps, and make sense

My advice is to try not to treat this like it is a paid service provided by compensated professionals.  Ask nicely and one of the nice folks here might take some time out of their weekend to offer advice.

Which adblock is the best one for Safari 5 ?
I was recommend "Safari AdBlocker" and "Safari adblock". Is it worth to install both or another one app ? which one is best and why ?

I would not recommend anything AdBlock.
GlimmerBlocker is much better, and does not become outdated . . .

  • Block ads and mackeeper ads

How do I block Mackeeper adverts and random pop up adverts from popping up every time  I click on a new tab another ad pops up, and it is getting very annoying. I've tried clicking Safari>security and block ads, and deselected plug ins but they still come up.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
               something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • My computer is clean, bug-free, with the most current updates on AdBlock & Firefox, yet I still get rollover ads and "fake" links embedded into websites:( Help!

I have Firefox 18.0, AdBlock 2.2.1, am up-to-date on my Windows 7, have no bugs nor viruses, but still there are "fake" hyperlinks embedded in websites. Also, rollover ads are making a presence again. Any suggestions? Tweaking the Java settings doesn't help. I haven't done Flashblock it blocks a lot of my work crud, but would be willing to deal with that annoyance if someone feels that it would be the resolution to my problem.

There are a lot of IntelliTXT like ''ad'' pop-ups possible.
If your current Adblock Plus filter settings aren't blocking some pop-ups then it is best to take this to the Adblock Plus forum.

  • Cant' block ads with maverick

How can I block ads and pop up screens?  I have tried all the settings I can think of.

Here is what I mean with purty pictures:
So if you go into your Macintosh HD you should the the applications folder.
When you are insider there, look for any strange applications applications, I don't know if malware goes to this location on an apple device but you can also check in your downloads for anything.
See if anything looks odd, that could be the source. But as far as chrome extensions go, go to the chrome webstore
If you search for Adblock, it really is the best thing ever!
See. As far as Software for malware protection goes, I would suggest this one. It costs money but trust me it is worth it in the long run. It will also debug your computer after a complete scan.
Anyway, I hope these pictures helped! GOOD LUCK!

I read in the web about plugins for safari. To block popup. Like Adblock.
Is this plugin usefull - or can this plugin safari damage, so that after an

Sorry my englisch typing is not so good.
But in the new jeahr will safari 4 comes out and so will i ask,
what is the better way. To wait for version 4 without plugin? or
    have you test it.
    best whishes for 2009

    Hi ubnit5,
Is this plugin usefull - or can this plugin safari damage, so that after an update safari never start?
Yes, it's possible that extensions like these can break updates to Safari. As long as you keep this in mind though, you can always remove the extension after Safari has been updated if it fails to load.
To wait for version 4 without plugin? or have you test it.
Everyone here is just a regular user like yourself. We have no more knowledge than you as to when Safari 4 will be released. You might be waiting a long time
Happy New Year to you as well!
PS. Many people from around the world help out here, so feel free to post in your native language as well (but admittedly, most are English speakers).
