Add 1 in front of area code

Is there a fast way to add the number one in front of all out going calls? and also when setting up the phone number in the contacts list?
My husband and I both have Iphones and I set up my phone numbers with the area code included.  But recently when I called his phone , his phone never rang and went straight to voicemail.  He did not receive the voicemail for more than an hour after I called him.  If I had been in an emergency he would not have received the message.
We called our provider ATT which had this answer.....even though i had the area code included  I should have had the number one in front of the area code and then the call would have gone through.  ATT states that this is a "new regulation" that is going through the FCC.
If that is true then I think 99.9% of the population has not heard of it.
If that is true then why doesn't the newest phone - the Iphone 4S - have a capability to auto set the number one before dialing and auto set the fact that a phone number is required to have  the area code with each phone number that is stored.
I look forward to any resolutions to my question.  Otherwise it is another manual job of going thru each phone contact and adding the information "required" by the FCC.

Doesn't sound right to me.  I don't have 1 in front of any of my contacts and they always go through.  I would check with someone else at AT&T on that.
Edit: I'm also on AT&T

  • How to add "1" in front of area code and phone number?

The phone numbers I imported into my iPhone from my Address Book don't have a "1" in front of them. So now, when I'm out of town and want to dial a number from Contacts, an automated message from my carrier tells me the number I'm dialing is long distance and requires a "1" at the beginning. On my old Treo, I could add a "1" in the "Dialing" set-up menu. The system knew enough to ignore it for local calls but enabled it for long distance calls. Is there no way to do this on iPhone? Many thanks.

This is one of the many lacking iPhone features that I've taken for granted in other basic cell phones for years. Ironically, the iPhone's weakest part is the phone.
Rogers will put through a call that has been dialed without the "1", but only after listening to a lengthy message that encourages you to program all of your phone numbers with the "1".
Sure, you can prepend a "1" before all phone numbers in your address book, however, that will cause problems if you share your address book with your computer and use an autodialer on your computer, because most land lines won't tolerate the "1" before a local number.

  • Add Playa Del Carmen, Mexico Area Code 984?

I'm moving to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in October and want to set up a Skype phone number. Is it possible to add the 984 area code to the dropdown options? It's not there currently.

Hi, WesStraub, and welcome to the Community,
Unfortunately, we are not provided advance notice when new exchanges are added to the available selections of Skype Numbers.  For various legitimate reasons, not all locations and exchanges are available, or they do not participate in the Skype Number programme.  Please check back periodically to see if the exchange you need becomes available.

  • How do I add an area code to a phone number after clicking number in text message?

Some people send 7 digit phone number in emails and text messages, and I need to add the area code to the front of the number, or else AT&T will choke. I have not found a simple way to do this.
Current method: copy number to notes, add area code, then paste full number into dialer

Any carrier in the U.S. will choke unless the number is in your area code.
I'm not aware of a way to do this. Selecting the number dials the number.

  • Add "1-" before area codes

I transferred all my Contacts from another program into OS X's Address Book, all phone numbers begin with the area code. I'd like to add "1-" before every area code. Is there an AppleScript to do this?

Important note: back up your address book database before running the script. AB database can be found here: ''~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/' --> ~ is your home folder.
    tell application "Address Book"
    repeat with _group in groups
repeat with _person in people of _group
set _phones to phones of _person
    repeat with _phone in _phones
set phone_number to value of _phone
if phone_number is not missing value or phone_number is not "" then set value of _phone to "1-" & phone_number
    end repeat
    end repeat
    end repeat
    end tell

  • How to prevent users from entering '+' or '0' in front of country code in the phone number field?

    Requirement:
How can I prevent guest users from entering '+' sign or '0' in front of country-code in the visitor phone number field during self registration?
Few SMS service providers are not looking for '+' sign or '0' or '00' in front of the international phone numbers to trigger the sms. Providing these values in front of country code during self-registration may fail to deliver the sms to recipient.
    Solution:
Using a simple regular expression, you can validate the entered phone number during the guest registration.
The below regular expression will help you to validate the phone number and allows to register only  when the phone number is not staring with '+' or '0'.
    ^[1-9][0-9](\d{7}|\d{8}|\d{9}|\d{10}|\d{11}|\d{12})$
It also performs the below validations.
    only numbers are allowed.
first digit of the entered phone number should be 1 to 9, so '+' or '0' is not allowed.
numbers from 0 to 9 are allowed from the second digit.
also validates phone number length, the length of the phone number should be 9 to 14.
    Configuration:
To add the above regex in the visitor_phone number filed, please navigate to ClearPass Guest >> Configuration >> (Pages)Guest Self-Registration >> select the self-registration page and go to Edit >> Register Page >> Form >>  select the filed visitor_phone and set the Validator to " ISRegexMatch" and enter the above regex in the Validator Argument filed as shown below.
Note:  Edit the Validation Error as per your requirement.
    Verification
Adding the given regex will validate the phone number and prevent the guest user from registering the phone number starts with '+' or '0'.
Please find below the sample outputs for your reference.
Result when phone number starts with '+' or '0'.
    Successful registration.

  • Dominican Republic has two area codes, 1-809 and 1...

I am unable to call family members in the Dominican Republic who have the area code 1-829 as the default 1-809 always overrides it and it is frustrating. Please add the area code so I can make more phone calls. Thanks.

Can you provide steps to reproduce the problem you're seeing? I just typed this number into the dialpad and was able to call it with no problems: +1 829 555 1212. Also, what version of Skype for Mac are you using? (Skype > About Skype)
The skype version I'm using is Version 6.12 (43.  My skype automatically updates (as far as I know).  What I do:
    1. Sign into skype
2.Open the dial pad, the number section is empty and the blue skype logo is where the numbers go.
    3. I type in the #, example 18295551212.
    4. Once the number is typed in the little blue skype logo turns to the Dominican Flag logo.
    5. I press the "call" icon.
    6.  Then it proceeds to call this number 180918295551212.
    7. I've calling it multiple times and it always puts the 1-809 in front of whatever number I am calling.

  • Easy way to add episodes without having to manually code it?

    Hi Folks,
Question for you here. Is there an app or system that allows you to easily add additional podcast episodes, all XML correct without having to keep having to add items and fill out the code in the feed?

There are a number of programs and online services, though in many cases they create the feed but don't allow you to access it directly. My only experience has been with Podcast Maker, which is easy to use, but I understand that it doesn't work well with Lion or Mountain Lion.
I can't recommend any specific service or program; I can only suggest you do some Googling, Note that in most cases you will have to start over with the older episodes as it probably won't import your existing feed.
You can of course simply copy and paste an episode and change the appropriate tags - be careful not to fall into the trap of duplicating the 'guid' tag and not changing it - each must be unique.

  • Is there a way to add, delete or change a FAC code via CLI in CUCM?

    Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to add, delete or change a fac code(or client matter) via CLI?
I know how to do it via BAT tool, but I want to do it via CLI(if it's possible).
    I´m using CUCM 6.
    I'll really appreciate your comments.
    Thanks..
    Dave.

There are no instructions n how to do this and we do not support doing any kind of changes to the DB via CLI unless instructed by TAC.
If you still want to do so, read the data dictionary for your CUCM version and work your CLI queries, again, if anything happens and the DB becomes corrupted or you have undesired results, we won't provide any level of support.
Previously I mentioned which are the supported methods for adding elements to the DB, I encourage you to use any of them.

  • How to use Find Change to add FC in front of all item numbers?

    Hello,
I am using Indesign CS5 on iMac, running OS 10.8.3.
I designed a product catalog that has 148 pages. Now I need to save the same design and make a new catalog for our wholesalers. On the wholesalers catalog I need to change the item numbers and add FC in front of each item number. How can I use find change to find each item and change them with FC in front of the item numbers? The following are a few examples of the item numbers:
LED-4042 I want to change it to FCLED-4042
UA-42 I want to change it to FCUA-42
    SC-110 change it to FCSC-110
    KN-10 change it to FCKN-10
    etc....
I am hoping there is a fast way to find and change these.  I was looking in to GREP, but I could not figure how to do this.
    Thanks,
    Omar

One way would be to just run it and then *remove* any double FC's -- but GREP can do even more! One of its many functions is to scan ahead for the presence or absence of certain text, and only act when it is (or it is not) there. This is called "lookbehind" (before the text you want to match) and "lookahead" (after the text you want to match).
In this case, you want to find a phrase starting with capitals, but NOT the exact string "FC". That's a job for Negative Lookahead -- Only Match If Not.
    Try this: search for
    \b(?!FC)\u+-\d+\b
... the Replace With stays the same.

  • How to add the business transaction to t-code : CIC0 in win client

    Dear sir,
We use CRM 5.0 . We would like to add business activity tranaction into t-code : CIC0. But I don't know how to do. Please kindlyadvise how to add the business transaction to t-code : CIC0 in win client.
    Thank u and best regards,
    Vimol

    Hello,
For each transaction type (e.g. Sales Order, Business Activity, opportunity, ....) you can maintain in which channel (IC WebClient, IC WinClient, SAPGUI, PCUI, ...) they are allow to be used. Probably the transaction types you want to see in the IC WinClient (= CIC0) are not enabled for this channel, that's why they don't appear in the WinClient (CIC0).
    How to do this?
    SPRO>CRM>Transaction>Basic Settings>Define transaction types
Here, look for the transaction types you want to enable in WinClient. Select the transactiont type and select "Channels" from the left pane. Here, add the channel "IC WinClient" (or something like that, I don't know the exact name anymore, in newer versions this no longer exists).
Save and restart the CIC0, after this the transaction type should be enabled.
    Hope this helps,
    Joost

    Hello,
I have not used a ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Type 3444-F9U) myself, but here is the configuration of the machine as it originally shipped:
    i7-3667U(3.2GHz), 8GB RAM, 180GB Solid State Drive, 14in 1600x900 LCD, Intel HD Graphics, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, 4c Li-Ion, Win7 Pro 64
According to the Detailed Specifications page for this model, the unit shipped with an Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6205S, 2×2 wireless card, and from looking the Drivers and Software page, it uses a USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter.
Here are the various drivers for Windows 7 (x86) that I was able to locate for this model:
    Intel Chipset Support Software v9.2.0.1021
ThinkPad Bluetooth with EDR Software v6.5.1.4500
Lenovo USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter Software v5.12.9
Intel Wireless LAN Driver Software v17.0.5
I would suggest starting with the Intel Chipset software first.  The order of the ofther software packages should not make much difference.
Also, make sure the Wireless Radio Swich located on the Left Side of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is enabled before installing the Bluetooth and WLAN drivers.
One thing you might want to keep in mind is that with a 32-bit version of Windows, the operating system will only provide access to between ~3.2 and 3.5GB of the installed 8GB of RAM.  With the 64-bit version of Windows 7 that came with the unit, you will have access to the full 8GB.

  • 1+area code and phone

When I add numbers or search from Google maps all phone numbers are coming up 1 + area code and phone number. Is there a way to turn off the "1+" and just have area code and phone number?

In areas that have more than one area code for the same geographic area, 10 digit dialing with area code is mandatory. 1+ dialing is required from land lines, but the 1+ is optional from mobile phones.
"What is an Area Code Overlay?
An overlay is the addition of another area code to the same geographic region as an existing area code. An overlay does not require customers to change their existing area code.
What Will be the New Dialing Procedure?
To complete calls from a landline phone, the new dialing procedure requires callers to dial 1 + area code + telephone number. This means that all calls in the 310 area code that are currently dialed with seven digits will need to be dialed using 1+ area code + telephone number.
To complete calls from a cellular or mobile phone, callers may dial the area code + telephone number or 1 + area code and telephone number whenever placing a call from a phone number with an overlay area code."
Since it doesn't matter using a mobile phone, I guess the databases have included the 1+ for completeness and all users (mobile and land line) can be accommodated.
