Add a baseline in numbers

Anyone know how to set a baseline on a chart?
I've got a ton of CSV files that I need to create charts with and use the first data point as a baseline.

Hi Fred,
By "baseline" do you mean a horizontal line passing through the first data point, and running across the full width of the graph?
If so, I see two possible ways:
Manually: Add a shape (line) in front of the graph. Set colour and thickness as desired, and place it manually usinf the mouse and arrow keys.
Add a column of 'data' to the table feeding the chart. Enter either a copy of the first Y data into every cell in the new column, or enter the formula beow into the first data cell in that column, then fill down to the last data cell.
Formula for method 2 (assumes actual data begins in C2): =$C$2
Set the format of this series to use no data point marker.

Nope, not a feature. However, if you "play" with building a column of numbers and use the Vertical and Bar Line Chart feature, you might be able to simulate a "baseline"......

On the iPod I can only insert what is on the clipboard but I can insert however many rows I have there. Is it working differently for you? Benjoon seemed to think that he could not do this in Numbers. He was ruling Numbers out because of it. He doesn't need to do that because of this issue.
If I was needing to insert multiple blank rows often I might keep a table of blank rows or just some blank rows at the end of the working table that I could copy/paste. This is no different than Numbers on the Mac.

Hover the cursor over the page display until the page footer appears. Select the page number.

The standard answer would probably be to create an additional series of data for your graph and then plot that series as a line (CR allows combo bar/line/area charts).
If all else fails, this is easily doable with our CRChart add-in, which has extensive support for user-defined lines: Up to 20 different lines, values set at runtime, show values and/or arbitrary labels on the lines. But... this solution costs money

this is exactly summing three cells but may be extended to any number of cells up to the limit of the Numbers application

Tap on the table to expose the selector controls. Tap on the row at the far left (on the control bar to left of the first cell. You should se a menu pop up. tap Insert. If this is done at the first row, you should have the option of selecting a body or header row.
