Add a "Released in last X# years" filter

Purpose: Single slide control to filter radio and playlists to play songs released in the last set number of years. Or, dual slider control to allow user to filter played songs to a specific range of years.
The idea is to allow the user to either hear just songs recently released (ie. last year or last 2 years) or, with a dual slider, allow them to filter a radio or playlist to hearing songs released during a set range such as perhaps when they were in high school, college, the year they were married, etc.
The default should be any release year so that users happy with how Spotify currently filters/shuffles/selects tracks to play are unaffected.
They could add a toggle checkbox so that your filter range is either remembered for next session or resets to the default when you close the app/logout.
I'm highly confident that release date is a datapoint in their database but, I'm betting against they track original release date for tracks that subsequently appear on live releases, greatest hits and other compilations. So while you could use my suggested feature to play songs that came out from 2001-2010, versions of Rush's "Tom Sawyer" as an example may get played even though it originally was on their Moving Pictures release in 1981 because it appeared on at least 3 live releases during that 10 year span. But, that would be a minor quibble that should really only bother the purists.
For me I would like this because there are times I want to focus on just newer releases of a specific genre. So if I pick a band like Stone Sour and use Spotify's radio feature, it would be nice to be able to tell it to play stuff that came out just this year or in either 2013 or 2014 so when Spotify matches up the band Theory of a Deadman for that radio, I hear just tracks from their new release "Savages" as opposed to simply what's most popular overall for the artist.

Release Date for Albums Year, MONTH DAY

Why can't I enter the release date for albums (Year month and day)?   Itunes has a field for year but that's it.    I would have loved to be at the meeting where it was discussed.
"Year, month and day? why the heck would any want that?"
"Well a lot of us want to see our albums in chronological order and you can't do that with just the year, many albums come out every year"
"Blah Blah Blah, music is just to dance to, no one cares about dates, besides it would four extra digit fields in each entry"
But seriously, I would think that Itunes would aspire to be THE program for music lovers.
Instead of being able to just enter the release dates I have had to come up with my own work around. I put a the release date in the format yyyymmdd in fromt of each title and then sort by titles.
Now all of my Beatle albums finally show up in chronological order by release date.   But why should I have to massage the data like this.   I can't imagine what goes on at Itunes planning sessions. I'm very unhappy about the loss of cover flow but that's another story.

This is so fundamental. Every album has a release date and it's part of the data that is always associated with that album.   Why did Apple look at the data available for an album and consciously decide to truncate it?
What kind of music lover isn't aware of when albums are released? I just don't get it.
I like having the date yyyymmdd in front of each album.   It isn't pretty but it means the albums are chronological.   If you want, you could just put this in the sort field and leave the regular album title in the regular field.   Then the names would be right and they would sort correctly.   But again. Why should we have to do all that?
Apple is busy constantly changing where the controls are on I tunes rather than fixing something simple and important like this.
Today I wanted to load some songs onto my ipod touch and it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to sync because the last itunes update got rid of the side bar.
How are you supposed to get comfortable using a product when they keep moving the controls around?   Just quit apple.   leave the controls where they are. Add new controls if needed but stop moving them. I know I'm ranting now but I am honestly angry and frustrated,

Last 3 years data

I am new for OBIEE and i have small requirement
I have a report with (year,Prod,sales) and there is prompt for year when i am selecting the year from prompt it as to show last 3 years data also. (if i select 2012 it as to show 2010,2011,2012 data in the report)

1>     Created prompt on Year and created presentation variable also for that year prompt*(P_year)*
2>     In answers I created report with 3 columns *(YEAR,PROD,SALES)*
3>     In Year -->add filter --> ADD presentation variables--> in variable expr i gave P_year

Can you sort albums by release date, rather than year, in album view?

I love the new album view in iTunes 11, but the only problem I have with it is sometimes albums are in the wrong order.
For example, last year Green Day released a trilogy of albums called ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! but since they were released in the same year, they're ordered as ¡Dos!, ¡Tré, ¡Uno! when sorted by artist and then year which really doesn't sit right with me.
In short, the sorting options for albums view are very limited, is there any way to extend them?
Also I'm aware that I could, as a cheap fix, change the sorting in album to the release date backwards, but I'd rather not do that as it would make it a bit more troublesome for me to navigate my albums on my iPhone.

I agree that Apple should improve the year field to be an actual date.
I am not 100% happy doing this, but when you have multiple albums from a single artist for the same release year, a temporary solution is to chage the album title by adding an outline type letter before album titles for that year, so that they appear in the correct order:
David Bowie
1977
a. Low
David Bowie
1977
b. "Heroes"
etc
This could help in the short term until Apple changes that field.

FI-SD data-BEx Query Logic for Amount received for the Lasts F.Year Sales

Need your assistance in designing one BEx Query,
We have Two cubes...one is sales ZSALES01 and Account Receivables ZFIAR01. On top of these cubes e built Multiprovider.
In the sales cube (ZSALES01)., we have calender day, Financial year , Fiscal period characteristics as time characteristics and Net Values as key figures. And Same way in the Account recievable cube (ZFIAR01) we have calender day( Which is mapped with Posting date), Financial year , Fiscal period characteristics as time characteristics and Credit/Debit amount as key figure.
My requiremnt is that i have to show in BEx with below scenarios.......
1.Amount received for the sales occured till Last Financial year
2. Amount Received for the sales occured in this current financial year
We have two show these values for company code wise , we have company code in both cubes nad we have financial year...and some other common fields there in both cubes.
Can you please guide me how to design the same in BE query.

are you saying that in your query you need to have 4 columns;
- Sales Last Year
- Sales Current Year
- AR for Sales (LY+CY)
- AR for Sales Current Year
If yes, getting Sales Information is easy. You need to use customer exit variable to get the current year (calendar or fiscal)
- for Sales Last Year, use customer exit variable for current year with a offset of -1
- for Saels Current Year, use customer exit variable for current year
For AR columns, as I said in my earlier post - use a lookup while loading data in AR cube. Use the Sales Doc Number and get the year information (calendar, financial or fiscal - whatever you want to use depending on your requirement) from Sales flow. This way you can tell if a particular FI doucment is for this year's sales or last year's sales.
Now, you can use another customer exit variable for AR column depending on the "Sales Year" infoboject. Customer exit variable shold be populated with the current Sales Year.
- for AR for Sales CY, use this customer exit variable
- for AR for Sales LY, use this customer exit variable with offset of -1
- AR for Saels (LY+CY), add both the columns above
Another way of achieving AR for Sales (LY+CY) is to restrict the RKF or value range using customer exit variable for Sales year with BETWEEN operator (From var1 to (var1-1)).
You can also use the option of replacment path variable as Durgesh mentioned. but in that case you will have to create two addition queries based on sales data which will return:
- sales documents for last year
- sales documents for current year
then you need to create two replacement path variables for AR columns which will get values from these two queries.

Estimate table size for last 4 years

I am on Oracle 10g
I need to estimate a table size for the last 4 years. So what I plan to do is get a count of data in the table for last 4 years and then multiply that value by avg_row_length to get the total size for 4 years. Is this technique correct or do I need to add some overhead?

Yes, the technique is correct, but it is better to account for some overhead. I usually multiply the results by 10 :)
The most important thing to check is if there is any trend in data volumes. Was the count of records 4 years ago more or less equal to the last year? Is the business growing or steady? How fast is it growing? What are prospects for the future? Last year in not always 25% of last 4 years. It happens that last year is more than 3 other years added together.
The other, technical issue is internal organisation of data in Oracle datafiles. The famous PCTFREE. If you expact that the data will be updated then it is much better to keep some unused space in each database block in case some of your records get larger. This is much better for performance reasons. For example, you leave 10% of each database block free and when you update your record with longer value (like replace NULL column with actual 25-characters string) then your record still fits into the same block. You should account for this and add this to your estimates.
On the other hand, if your records get never updated and you load them in batch, then maybe they can be ORDERed before insert and you can setup a table with COMPRESS clause. Oracle COMPRESS clause has very little common with zip/gzip utilities, however it can bring you significant space savings.
Finally, there is no point to make estimates too accurate. They are just only estimates and the reality will be almost always different. In general, it is better to overestimate and have some disk space unused than underestimate and need to have people to deal with the issue. Disks are cheap, people on the project are expensive.

Log in to icloud.com with your Apple ID. Once you're logged in, click on your name on the upper right corner. Click Advanced and then Reset Photo Stream. This will delete all your photos in the album Photo Stream in your iPhone 4S so make sure you have backed up (copy to Camera Roll or new folder) all those that you want to keep.
This is the only way to do it with iOS 5 (not the beta releases)

Hi All,
We have a 'Date' field in the report, the format is "10/25/1999 5:23:56 PM"
I have calculated the below mentioned fileds on the webcat:
1. Year: 1999
2. MonthID: 199910
Now I want to apply the last 13 months filter on the report in which these two date fileds are used.
Does anybody has the idea how to do the same?

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Add to Family Share twice a year?! No WARNING!!!

I had to remove my son's Apple ID from family sharing twice because it wasn't working right, which is an Apple problem. Then I get the message about you can only add an ID twice a year!! So my other problem is, why no warning? No where is it visible that you can add an ID only twice a year. If I would have known ahead of time, I wouldn't have removed the account twice! Does anyone know how to reset this? If it can be? Thanks for the heads up, Apple!

I encountered this same exact issue when trying to add my daughter.     I was on chat with Apple Support for an hour last night. Because this feature is so new, they had to research this further.   They called me back this morning and told me that unfortunately, my daughter had to wait the year to be able to be added back!!   I asked why they could not reset her ID and she said that the feature was so new that they did not have a way!    She said perhaps it would be addressed in a software update, but in the meantime she recommended my daughter set up a new AppleID!   This of course is not an option because all her purchase history is with the current one.
I pointed out that there was no warning anywhere and that they were likely going to be flooded with similar requests.
As a side note, the reason I had to add/drop my daughter multiple times is because we tried out the "permission to buy" option where she has to get my permission to purchase using my credit card.   We tested it and then I turned off the permission requirement, but she still could not make purchases without my permission.   She then left family share and returned (a couple of times to get this to work) and it was the 3rd attempt where she was locked out!!

Yes phone will automatically backup to icloud when on wifi and phone is charge, but your phone storage was full so it stop backing up.

MM-FI Issue-Open GR for last Fis Year-Is it possible to Close / lock PO

I have the following MM / FI Issue.
Open GR for last Fiscal Year cannot be reversed due to periods closed both FI/MM.
This GR is related to Asset.   After receipt of GR, Asset has already been capitalized.
The Inovice not entered thro' MIRO due to non-availability of PO ref.
The Vendor Invoice booked (KR doc) with debit Asset and Credit to Vendor.
Payment made to this invoice.
MM wants to cancel the GR and it is not possible. Then FI decided to clear thro' dummy invoice.
FI accounted the dummy invoice for open GR to square-up the accounting entries.
After finishing the above process, MM wants to close or lock the PO.
Is it possible to short close or lock the previous year po now?

I want to reverse the Asset GR thro' MR11 for testing.   I have the following doubts.
In MR11 - After Company Code - which date has to be entered?   Posting date of the GR or current date!
In Reference field I have to enter the DC/DN number
Then I have entered the PO No. in Purchsasing Document field.   Is it required to enter the PO Date???
There is a Tick mark is already marked in "Delivery Surplus" - Is it required?
There is a Tick mark is already marked in "GR/IR clearing account" - I think it Is required

My iTunes library will not connect to my iPod, nor will it show the purchases made on that iPod from the last 2 years. What can I do to get that music on my laptop?

When trying to burn a CD, I realised that a LOT of my music (over 700 songs) are not on my laptop. I try and sync my iPod frequently however, a notice pops up saying 'erase and sync' or do nothing. Due to the fact the not all my music is not on my laptop I choose the option to do nothing. This has been going on for about 2 years now and I am struggling to find a solution.
All those new purchases that I have brought through my iPod in the last 2 years do not show up on my account settings nor as an option to download through iCloud. I understand this may be a simple fix, however I am not an expert in this field.
Any suggestions as to how to solve my problem are greatly appreciated.
