Add a reset button to a formCentral form

Is it possible to add a cancel or reset button to a form that will close the form and not proceed to submit the form?

    For adding a button follow these steps ,
    Tools>Interactive Objects>Add Button>Select the area where you want the button and you will see a small dialog box along with that button option you would have created .Click on 'All Properties' option and in the next dialog box  customize the various button properties as per your convenience .The Action tab will help you select the preferred action you want for a particular button .

    I hope it's implemented as support for the Reset Form action and the resetForm JavaScript method, as opposed to a separate "Reset" button in the app's UI. In other words, it should be initiated by something in the document, not the app, so that the ability to reset a form provided by the form creator. Allowing the app to do a blanket reset of all fields could result in the form being placed in an invalid or unintended state. This is more of a concern for the desktop versions that have complete JavaScript support, but as (if?) the mobile version gain more JavaScript support it will be more of an issue.

    I have an query form with table displaying results from a View Criteria. When I click the "Reset" button in the query form, the search fields are reset, but the table filters are not. As a result, it is easy to make mistakes when searching. I want the "Reset" button to reset both the search fields and the table filters. Is this possible?

    Hmm, is there a reason why you don't use the Likert type of question, and have the Clear button (you can change the label to 'Reset') available? That would be a lot easier.
    And if you want to create such a custom slide, why don't you use the enhanced radiobuttons widget from Jim Leichliter? I explained how to reset the radiobuttons choice it in this blog post:

    Since you are using 5.5, no output for HTML5 is possible, so you can use those widgets. Really, although I'm an Advanced Actions fan, I would never try to realize this the way you are doing it. Maybe with shared actions in 7, or with the new copy+paste functionality for advanced actions in 7.0.1 but not in 5.5. Be sure: my memory about the different versions is pretty good.

  • Two Form buttons - a "submit" and an "Add Another Record" button

    Hello, any help would be appreciated . I think what I want to do requires a Custom Trigger but am not sure. And if it does, I'm not sure how to do it.
    I've got a form and when the user gets to the point where they want to submit the form, I want need two buttons; a Submit button and an "Add another Record" button.
    The reason is that the form contains two parts; two fields that go into one table (ex. incident and location) and two fields that go into another table (first name and last name). Of course these tables are tied together. I can do that no problem. But if the user wants to enter another person's name, I want the user to click the Add Another Record button and be able to add the second or third name.
    I know that I need a Custom Trigger to carry the original tables ID. What I can't figure out is how to add the additional button next to the Submit button.

    If you are using the FormsCenral website to create a form it will have a submit button by default for the HTML (web) form and also by default it you are saving as PDF (there is an option to create a PDF without Submit, but by default it does submit to FormsCentral). 
    If you are using the FormsCentral desktop application that is bundled with Acrobat XI you would have to sign into the service to create forms with Submit buttons.  You can also create a form without submit button in FormsCentral Desktop and then edit the form in Acrobat XI adding a submit button using your preferred submit method such as by email.
    Let me know if you need more information on either of these, it will be easier to assist knowing more about what you are using.

    I have seen a few questions similar to this, but I am a total novice to customizing SBO.  This is the procedure as I understand it, please tell me if I am correct. 
    I have to have some application running (call it MyApp).  MyApp contains the code to catch the load event for the form I am intersted in, and add the button then let the form load.  Is that correct?  Then what do I need to do to capture the event caused by pressing the new button?  Ultimately, this exercise will add a button to the Activity form and then cause the screen to refresh when the button is pressed.
    I am NOT asking for someone to do this for me, but I see "pieces" of what I think I want to do in the examples and help, I just want to be sure I am heading in the right direction before getting mired down.

    For adding your button to a system form, your approach is correct (ie capture the load event of the form your want to customise and add the button using the UI API or by loading via XML). There is an example of customising a system form in the UI API samples from the SDK. There is also an article on how to use XML to load new controls that can be found here:

    For capturing the event of the user clicking on your new button, what you need to do is trap the Item Pressed event for that form. I also recommend you look at filtering the events that your addon captures. This is good practice as a lack of event filtering can cause significant performance issues.

    As per Peter's replay yes you can update form even after add columns in list and you can add extar control like button to your infopath form.
    Workflows are usually started when creating or updating an item inside a SharePoint document library. 
    Open the workflow in SharePoint Designer and under "Start Options' on the workflow's home page, remove the check from "Start workflow manually...". Be sure the check either "Start on create..." or "Start on change...". In
    your case I think you would use "Start on create...".

    How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central. It's for an online Diet Questionnaire. After people complete the form I'd like them to click "SUBMIT" and the completed form will be emailed to me.

    This can be a bit confusing because Acrobat 11 comes with the desktop app that allows you to create simple PDF forms without having a FormsCentral account. Some people find this helpful, but you need to understand that when you generate the PDF form, it is Reader-enabled by Acrobat. In order to edit the form further in Acrobat, you have to create a non-enabled copy of the form. You do this in Acrobat by opening the form and selecting: File > Save a Copy
    and opening the copy. It is not opened automatically.
    You can now add a button and set it up to submit by email, either using a "Submit a form" action or the submitForm JavaScript method. You can set it up to include just the form data or the entire PDF, and will want to use a mailto type URL. Submitting the form to the FormsCentral server has a number of important advantages over email (much more reliable, more secure, etc.), so you might want to consider it.
    If the form needs to be saved with Reader versions prior to 11, then you will need to Reader-enable the document. In Acrobat 11 you do this by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

    Firefox checks on the server if the file has been modified if you use the back button.<br />
    If the page was requested by sending post data to the server then Firefox sends that post data and asks for confirmation.<br />
    You can try to use the tab history of the Back button skip sites that require sending post data.
    You can also try if it works if you set to never check the server by setting the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency pref to 2.
