Add a second family organizer

Is there a way to add my spouse as a family organizer? We're extremely disappointed that only one of us is allowed control as the family organizer. Because a phone had to be replaced, I had to enter my credit card's security code to allow the device to be associated to the family account. I understand the security concern with this but there's no reason why only one person should be the family organizer. You can easily link a credit card to an account and whichever family organizer attends to the request first can decide whether to allow the purchase. It's sad to see that Apple is still entrenched in 20th century practices such as having a single head of household. It's also quite problematic that there is an all-or-nothing approach to this family organizer feature. If my spouse wants to be a part of the family account, my spouse has to succumb to having me as the head of the family which means that if my spouse has to replace a phone, my personal credit card's security code will be needed. If my spouse refuses to succumb, then all the benefits of the family account (such as sharing purchased apps) are off-limits.

You can reset the iPad as a completely new device to erase all of his content. Unless you share the same Apple ID - you really are not entitled to use apps or content that he purchased anyway and you you should start from scatch if the iPad now belongs to you.
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. That will take you to a brand new configuration of the iPad and will have to start over with your own email accounts, apps, music .... all of it.
However - you can simply sign into your own account on the iPad in Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap on his ID and sign out then sign in with yours.

The easiest way would be to set up a seperate user account. That user would have their own iTunes with their own Library.

If you used one ID to install ADE, you cannot download an ebook from a site into ADE if you used a different ID. That's the way the Digital
Millenium Copyright Act of 2000 was implemented to prevent unauthorized copying of ematerials. ADE tells you that in its HELP section. You can't add a second ID to ADE either, for the same reason.
What you CAN do is to change users, and authorize ADE with the same ID you used when you downloaded the ebook. You do this by bringing ADE up, then using the CNTLSHIFTD key combination, you will deauthorize ADE. Close ADE and reopen it, and ADE should ask you to authorize it. At this point, you can enter the second ID, and ADE will take off from there. BUT, keep in mind that any other ebooks you downloaded into ADE with the first ID will not be accessible until you go through the same process again and revert to the first ID.

I have an Extreme Base Station connected to my Time Warner Cable Modem. It comes into my house in my office, which is over my garage, a separate structure in my backyard. The iMacs there are connected via Ethernet to the Apple Base Station. In my house, maybe 30 feet away, where I use two Macbook Pro's, iPhone 6, iPad 3 etc, all via Wireless, I have an Airport Express as an extender to amplify the signal because my house with it's lathe walls is a great shield. This works OK up to a point. The further away I get from the Airport Express, the fainter the signal gets.
Naturally, the farthest room away is my family room with a Smart TV, Apple TV, A/V receiver, DirecTV Cinema box, Playstation3 etc. I just added an Amazon FireStick TV via HDMI. It found my wireless network perfectly and joined. Problem is, it's buffering like crazy when I try to watch a movie and reporting "bandwidth too low". So I have a problem. I need to boost the signal one more time.
Can I add a second Airport Express to my existing network as an extender, which now consists of a Extreme BaseStation and one Airport Express.
If not, does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry, but no. Even if it was possible, the speed loss would be amazing, and would really hurt, not help the current network performance.
Probably not the answer that you want to hear, but the only way to get the same signal strength and speed from your office to a location in the home is to run an Ethernet cable between the two locations.
There is no loss of signal or speed through an Ethernet cable up to 330 feet, or 100 meters. Good old Ethernet cable. Nothing comes close to a wire in terms of performance.
I faced a similar problem, and while the initial outlay to the electrician was significant, it has been the best investment that I ever made in terms of improving network performance....far better than the "improvement" with any new product, or any new router or any new technology that might have been available.
If you absolutely cannot run the Ethernet cable, then a pair of Ethernet Over Powerline (EOP) adapters might be able to send the Ethernet signal over the existing power lines in your office and home.
The theory with EOP products is that you already have the wiring in place.....you just need the adapters. Unfortunately, things do not always work as well in practice as the theory might suggest.......having the signal hop several different circuits would be one major challenge.....whether the office and home are on the same master circuit would be a question as well.
Given your situation, I would not even consider trying EOP adapters unless the store agreed to take them back within 7-14 days if they don't work well for you.

Yes, you can upgrade your plan and add another line at any time. When you add the line, you have the option to sign a new 2-year contract and pay a reduced price for a new phone, so you could purchase the iPhone at that time. Your new line will have its own contract, with an end date different from your primary line.
The new charges would include the cost of your new Family Share calling plan, the mandatory $30/2GB or greater data package on the iPhone's line, and any texting or other features you decide to add to the second line. You can see the costs by doing a "mock" upgrade through MyVerizon. Just log in, go to change plan, and choose to add a line. Then you can step through the process, and see your total costs at the end before you accept the changes and place the order.
Your employee discount will still continue to apply, but generally, it only applies to the primary line on the account. That means the $9.99/month "add a line" and any features on the second line probably won't recieve any type of discount. You can contact Human Resources at your company to get the exact details of what your discount covers.

This may be a silly question. How can a person (a Contact in this case) have more than one date of birth? Unless... the person in question may be Chinese, Israeli, or "something else", in which case the Contact would publish the original birthdate in the corresponding characters

If you are trying to add Family/Friends birthdays to the Contact - "Jane's Daughter", for example - it is likely not the best way to track it - a 'Memo' field, perhaps?

Incorrect Name for Family Organizer

How does one correct the name shown in the preferences pane for the Family Organizer in iCloud OS X Yosemite?
When I set up my youngest daughter's iPod a few months ago, Family Sharing did not yet exist. So, I added her email address as an alternate to my own email address. Everything seemed fine. She was even delighted to be able to add a name of her choosing to the account on her iPod. However, this has now become an annoyance to me as the phoney name is showing up on my own computer, and I cannot find any way to change. I have even removed her email address as an alternate, but the phoney name remains when I visit the system preferences pane.
She has informed me that she set the name by stating to SIRI that it was her name, so there doesn't appear to be any way for me to change this. Surely this is a bug that needs to be fixed.
Please tell me what I need to do to change it back to my own, or who I need to contact to have someone else fix the problem.

Thank you for your reply. The CD I am trying to copy was not listed when iTunes brought up the possible CD names so I chose a name that was one of the song's on the CD. I am new at this and didn't know the problem this would cause. I am trying it copy Kenny Chesney's Greatest Hits which has 17 songs. The name I chose for the CD lists 12 songs with song names for the CD name I selected. I tries to copy CD again without being connected to Internet but it still comes up incorrectly. I will try get CD track names to see if it will get all the 17 tracks. Thanks again.

I am creating an idvd project with multiple imovie projects. I know I need to share my imovie project with Idvd. WEhen I do that, idvd automatically opens. Now I want to add a second project. The problem is that when I share imovie projects a second time, it automatically opens a second idvd project. I want to add multiple imovie projects on one idvd project.

One should not share directly to iDVD from iMovie. The Share ➙ Media Browser option should be used as that results in a better quality movie in iDVD. Do the same for both movies and you can drag the movies from the Media ➙ Movies pane in iDVD into the DVD menu window at the left.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

This model allows to use 2 HDD's. Max capacity is 500 GB.
To install second drive you will need Hard Drive Caddy and Cable Connector. You may buy them here.

I dont have Qosmio X500 but generally speaking its no problem to exchange the internal HDD with a SSD but I dont know if the model has 2 SATA connectors.
If you are not sure ask the salesman if its possible to install a second HDD or SSD.
SSDs are no problem because they have the same SATA interface as normal HDDs.

For many 17" (or 17.3") machines such as Envy 17, dv, Pavilion 17 .... you can add a second HDD (my old loan dv7 has two HDD's and my current loan Envy 17 also has 2 HDD's). You would need the following kit:

"One or more field types are not installed properly" when I try to add a second discussion board web part to a page

I have a SharePoint 2010 site with two discussion boards. I added one additional field to each of the boards: a lookup to another list to link the discussions to individual projects. I need 2 different boards because they have different posting permissions
(one is open to all for comments, and one is open only to the project team to post but everyone can read).
When I go to the pages for each of the discussion boards, they work fine.
But I'm putting together a page for individual projects, and want to have web parts for both discussion boards on the same page, showing the discussions related to the selected project.
I am able to add one of the discussion boards to a web part in the page, but when I add the second discussion board to the page, the new web part contains:
One or more field types are not installed properly. Go to the list settings page to delete these fields.
Correlation ID: blah blah blah
I've searched for similar postings, but mostly I see this error message related to migration from 2007 to 2010 -- this is not the case here: I created both discussion boards, and the whole site, in SP 2010. I've also found this message related
to coding errors using SPQuery. I am not doing any coding here, just using the built-in SharePoint 2010 Edit Page -> add a web part -> select the discussion list. I tried doing it from SPD with the same result.

I figured it out. I was using ?FilterField1=fieldname&FilterValue1=value on the URL to the page to pick out one project number. The web part I was trying to add was for a list that did not have that particular fieldname. I didn't realize that would matter
since I was using the Connections -> Get Filter Values From to get my filter values from the main web part, which does have that fieldname.
I added a field with that fieldname to the other list and set a workflow to copy the lookup value of the project number lookup field into the new field. Now all is working fine. Sorry for the wild geese in my original question.

Create a new AppleID (or use a different one if you are already doing so), then sign onto the iTunes Store that way and set up payment etc.
There's many other aspects to this question, including if you want this all to go to the same library, the same user account on the computer, etc.
Warning: For the purposes of redownloading items (make sure you understand redownload vs. first time download) you can only change primary AppleID associated with a computer every 90 days. For other things such as buying new items there is no restriction.
Items purchase under one account cannot be transferred to another. you will still always have to use the old ID for any purchase you made under that ID.
