Add a static page without including it in my menu (widget)

I want to add a static page somewhere in my website but hidden from my top menu (widget). Each time I add a new page it will appears in my top menu. I'll probably add many static pages and I don't want to change the color to transparent when these pages are showing in my top menu.
I'm sure it's really simple to do but unfortunately I can't figure it out
I use Muse CC 2014

  • How can I add a new page without connecting it to the menu bar?

Hello!  I would like to create a new page in the top level section. However, I do NOT want to link it through the menu bar widget... and instead, link it through a hyperlink or button from one of my main pages. I do not want this page to be a drop down from the menu bar either. Thank you in advance!!

    ^^^ with pic =).
And then just link your object/text with the standard hyperlink menu!

  • How to add a portlet page without the use of EBCC

I know that you can add a portal page using EBCC but can a user do this through
    the portal?
So can a user after logging in, create a portal page and give it a certain name
that he came up with and then add some portlets in this page?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated!!!
    Thanks,

    Jalpesh,
I believe that the question is more on the user customization side of things.
Can a registered web site user create their own portal page? Then add already
created portlets to it. I think that this functionality is like on my.yahoo.com.
As far as I know the bea portal server doesn’t have this functionality. A user
may have access to predefined pages and that page has associated portlets. Then
there is a layer of security associated with all of this called customer entitlements.

    Hello Said,
In WLP 4.0 and WLP 7.0, the each portlet was defined by its own xml
definition. So to answer your question, I do not think you can create
new portlets through the JSP Admin Tools.
What you can do is try to automate the process so that your portlets
    are
created using a sample portlet xml file and then modify the portal.xml
so that that portlet is added to its list. You can then data sync your
portal. To make is visible, you will still have to manually set the
visible and available attribute to true in the JSP admin tools.
    Thanks,
    Jalpesh.

  • Add movie to page without using quicktime

How can I insert into my webpage an mp4 movie (which uses h264) and get it to autoplay, without invoking a Quicktime plugin?
Every time I do this I find iWeb v3.0.3 has used a Quicktime plugin, which is not good as (1) not every computer has Quicktime installed, especially in a business (and they often have security set so the user cannot install things), and (2) in the latest version of Internet Explorer it demands permission to run from the user, even if Quicktime is installed.

One solution is to use a player that uses the flash plugin and have an alternate, smaller version for devices that don't support flash like the iPhone....

The easiest way is to upload to YouTube, Vimeo etc and paste the code into an HTML Snippet...

  • How can I access assets on multiple pages without bloating the book

My book includes audio files and I would like to be able to acces the song files from different pages without including them multiple time in the book. Any ideas on how to acheive this?

Have you tried closing the Pages app completely and seeing if it works ok when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Pages 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Pages app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • If then statement if user is on a dial-up connection to re-direct them to a static page?

I'm designing a site with flash on the index page, and many of the users might be on a slow connection. Although the flash file is relatively small, I want them to be able to load the page as fast as possible. Any suggestions on how to re-direct them to a static page without an obvious "click here to skip intro" link?
    Thanks!

You might want to look into adding some javascript to your HTML document-
I know that javascript has Flash and non-Flash detection and redirection scripts - (not sure about connection speed detection and redirection).
If not maybe a server-side script is available- PHP, Asp, etc..

  • How to create a new aspx page in Pages library using Elements.xml without including any aspx page layout in my feature?

Is it possible to have the elements.xml file create a page in the Pages (or SitePages) library without actually including any sort of page layout or aspx artifact in the feature?
I see no reason to add a mywebpartlayout.aspx to my feature just so I can deploy a Home.aspx based on the BlankWebPart.aspx page layout.
I'm sure there is something obvious I am missing with regards to the Elements schema (which is why I've almost given up on using it completely and just gone to pure C#) but
I would really like to do this kind of simple stuff with declarations if at all possible. Must less code to write, debug, test and maintain.

I don't see how my question keeps getting misunderstood. This seems to be very clear and clearly not answered: "Is it possible to have the Elements.xml file
create a page in the Pages (or SitePages) library without actually including any sort of page layout or aspx artifact in the feature?"
I can't be more clear than "without including ANY sort of page layout or aspx artifact (meaning anything ending in aspx) IN THE FEATURE". I am not capitalizing to yell,
only to emphasize. Your disagreement is based on a link that shows ADDING AN ARTIFACT (the dummy MyPage.aspx) to a feature. I am asking if it
is possible (again, I cannot be more clear) to just use an Elements.xml file to instruct SharePoint to make a new item in a Pages or SitePages library.
Your definition of page includes Page Layouts and what you call Web Part Pages (again, a type of page layout + data in a site pages list that says what webparts
to display). Page Layouts are clearly NOT items stored inside of a SitePages or Publishing Pages library. Those libraries are just lists whose records
define the parts to show inside a specific layout.
When I refer to a Page I mean an entry into a pages (site pages/publishing pages) list. If I wanted to deploy a page layout then, quite obviously, I would need
to include it into my solution. I think maybe you are assuming that I do not know the difference. I do. The question is, can an Elements file alone be enough to instruct SharePoint to make a new entry into a Pages or SitePages library.
Now, your second link does show how to reference an existing Page Layout. Thank you for that. It is excellent. But this still leaves the problem of having to
add some sort of aspx page into the solution. Let me try to explain why I feel this SHOULD BE unnecessary: The aspx file will not have anything on it if I am referring to the ~sitecollections/.../BlankWebPartPage.aspx layout.
All web parts and content that should appear on the new page can be described IN the Elements.xml file. Any sort of aspx file is unnecessary, it seems to me.
So, if I am referencing a ~sitecollections/.../BlankWebPartPage.aspx page layout and specifying the web parts to add to the page, why should there be a
requirement to have some aspx file within the feature? That's what I am trying to figure out.
I am not asking for source code as proof. I am asking for an Elements file that does NOT reference anything AT ALL inside the Visual Studio solution for reasons I just described.
If you do not know how to do it then perhaps it cannot be done but I would like the question to stay unanswered for a little while until someone can demonstrate either a) it CAN
be done or b) a link to some Microsoft document stating that it is MANDATORY to have a physical element within the feature that gets copied to the environment.
I think it is important to understand what is being asked before insisting you have answered. It is clear from your posts that you have not fully understood the question yet but
I am hoping this posts makes it clear. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, though. You seem to be the only one up for the challenge! :)

  • Create aspx page without masterpage and add visual webpart into it

    Hi
I have to create aspx page programatically and add it to the site pages library of team site.
    Requirements for this page are
    1) Page should not use masterpage
    2) Add a visual web part to this page
    3) on feature activation add this page with webpart should be added to site and set this page as welcom page
We are using TeamSite template in our project
Please provide me solutions with examples if possible
    Thanks
    Bhavin

    Hey,
is the visual webpart a custom webpart which is created by yourself or is it a standard webpart such as content editor?
Not to use the masterpage is quite difficult because the masterpage is necessary for several things. As far as I know there is no way to create a page without a masterpage. As a workaround I would recommend to try the "isDlg=1" parameter in the
url. This flag hides most of the elements in the masterpage. As an example it is used by the modal dialog framework. Every page which pops up as a modal dialog (such as the forms of lists and libraries) is a ordinary page (including the masterpage) but it
has the flag in its url. So only the actual content of the page is displayed while the elements of the masterpage are hidden.
Try to set the welcome page like this: http://[webUrl]/SitePages/YourCustomPage.aspx?isDlg=1

  • Is there a way to allow contributor users to add web parts to a page without granting them "Add and Customize Pages" permission?

I am working on an enterprise wiki site collection, and when contributor users try to add web parts they will get the following error:-
A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. You don't have Add and Customize Pages permissions required to perform this action.
So I granted the Contribute Permission level an extra permission which is “Add and Customize Pages”. Now contributors will be able to add/edit/delete
web parts. But they will have extra permissions that I do not want them to have , such as changing the design and customize some page layouts, also they can access the site settings and create site columns !!.
So my question is basically if there is another way to allow users with contribute permission to be able to add web parts without granting any extra permission. In other words to treat adding web parts as normal content such as image, Text ,tables ?
    Thanks

    I dont think so.

    Add and Customize Pages
Add, change, or delete HTML pages or Web Part pages, and edit the Web site by using a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible editor.
View Items, Browse Directories, View Pages, Open
    Design, Full Control
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered. You can reach me through http://freeit-support.com/
so there are not any workarounds or any custom settings which i can use to implement any of these:-
    - To force Contributor users to add web parts without granting them "Add and Customize Pages"
    - If i grant them "Add and customize Pages" permission, to stop the ability to access the site settings ?
Please can any one advice on this , as it is causing a lot of confusion,,, and i can not live with the face that Contributor users can access and modify site settings. the other approach will be is that i will stop using web parts. but one of our main reasons
we decide to use SharePoint is the ability to add web parts, especially the Visio & Excel web access web. thanks in advance for any advice ..

  • Gallery files included on a page without gallery images/thumbnails

    Hi,
I included the .js files for the gallery on a page without
    gallery images/thumbnails.
The effect is, that the first image with a link on that page
gets a yellow border (as normally the first thumbnail does).
To correct the problem, I changed the code in line 44 of
    SpryThumbViewer.js:
    from
    this.tnImageSelector = "a[href] > img";
    to
    this.tnImageSelector = "div.thumbnail a[href] > img";
(of course, you have to put a <div
class="thumbnail">...</div> around an image on real
gallery pages, so that they work there)
Do you see any problems with the changed code? Could it be
    changed in the official release?

    Sven

  • Add a Page without adding top-level Navigation link

How do you add a new page to a site without it auto-adding a link at the top of the page navbar?
I need to add a link to a page from one of the main pages.
One thing I lvoe about iweb is how intuitive and simple it is to make sites but I miss some of the flexibilities of a (CSS, dreamweaver, golive, etc).

I have a "Donate" page and want to take the donater to a thank you page after transaction is complete so I obviously want the rest of the links of Navbar on the thank you page (so they can get back to the site) but i obviously don't want my "thank you for donating!" page on the main site navbar. I may have to make a seperate site and manually just copy paste in the mainsite navbar links.

  • Including an email address on a web page without it being harvested for spam

As per the title really - anyone know of a method of including an email address on a web page without it being picked up by spam bots?
Usually if i want to avoid that, I just do a little form with a honey trap, but I'm working on a page that needs contact details for around 100 places, so doing 100 odd forms for a single page might be a little impractical.... Thanks.

Run it inside a script that parses an XML file based on the link's ID - one script, many links, no directly visible mail addresses (though, of course bots can still parse the XML file itself, if not in a hidden directory or something liek that).
